I wrote this for the 100situations challenge on livejournal - prompt 004 Late. It's my first Kingdom Hearts story so be nice :-)
"You're late," Yuffie announces with her hands planted firmly on her hips.
"Hey, it's only three minutes!" Sora protests.
"Exactly," Donald agrees vehemently.
"Excuses excuses," Yuffie says and waggles her finger at them. Donald opens his mouth to object, but Aerith holds up a hand and stops him.
"Never mind, you're here now," she says gently. Yuffie scowls but subsides, refusing to look at Donald's smirk.
"So, how come you guys wanted us to come?" Sora asks.
"Hollow Bastion has cinema! You have to see it," Yuffie says cheerfully.
"Cinema? What's that?" Sora asks. They sure haven't ever had anything like that on Destiny Islands.
"You have to see it to understand," Yuffie says. She grabs his arm and yanks. Sora nearly falls flat on his face before Yuffie rolls her eyes and stops dragging him towards the door.
"What do you want to see?" Yuffie asks. "Oh, hang on, I know what we're going to watch, Aerith bought tickets." She produces a handful of battered scraps of card from her pocket and rifles through them. "Nope… nope… yesterday's… that looks boring… there they are!" She waves two cards around in the air. "Let's go!"
The trailers are nearly finished by the time they've chosen their seats – Sora wants to sit at the front so they can see, but Yuffie insists that it's more fun to sit right at the very back. Sora gives in when she points out that the film is about to start and lets her lead him to the back row.
The film is interesting, but Yuffie fidgets all the way through.
"Can't you sit still?" Sora whispers. "Those people are watching you." Yuffie looks over to where he's pointing. It's an ex-boyfriend of hers and his stupid mates.
"Time to show you the main reason why teenagers sit in the back row at the cinema," she announces, and before Sora has time to wonder she's leaning across the armrest and kissing him.
When the film ends and the lights come on, and both Sora and Yuffie have messy hair and swollen lips, Sora decides that he quite likes the cinema.
