Love is a four letter word. But even such a small word there are many ways to describe it. But in most cases it is hard to find those words that perfectly describe what love is or that special person to share it with. From the moment you meet eyes with that special someone to the lip locking moment of that first kiss that automatically tells you whether it is worth while. Though love is not just about happiness and that "one" but it is also pain and despair.
It was a normal day of school at Degrassi High where there were smiles on every ones faces and laughing in the hallways. Craig and Ashley have been together for quite a while, both on and off, but nevertheless still crazy for each other. Both seemed to be very happy and holding hands. But Craig had something on his mind and Ashley seemed to notice.
"Craig are you alright? You seem to be on some other planet or something." Ashley said with concern.
"Ashley I need to talk to you. It's really important." Craig says in a serious way.
"What is it Craig?" Ashley asked in both a worried and confused voice.
"Well, this is not easy to say, so I'll just say it." Said Craig.
Ashley stays silent.
"I think we should break up."
"Why, Craig? Things are going so well. Why do you want to quit now?"
Craig hesitates and tries to think of the right thing to say.
"Um, well. It's just that—"
"Is it something I said or did? Just tell me." Ashley says with pain and tears forming in her eyes.
"I— don't want to hurt you any longer Ashley. You have to understand."
"What's going on Craig?"
"I have been seeing someone else. I'm sorry Ashley." Craig said.
"What? How could you?"
"I'm sorry." Says Craig with sadness.
"Who is she? Was it Manny?"
"Well, you see—"
"I knew it! How could I have been so blind! I saw how you would talk to her as if nothing was going on. Gosh, I'm so stupid!" Ashley says with full anger in her voice.
Without saying another word, Ashley runs down the hall with tears running down her face and doesn't notice the eyes of her friends staring at her as she runs.
"Ashley wait!" Craig yells after her.
But Ashley just ignores his call and just keeps running hoping to find some sort of place where she can hide or some friendly face she can cry with.
