A Few Septembers:
And it was on that fateful day
That Danny Fenton moved away.
He moved away from Amityville
Sam tried to make her face stay still,
But tears fell down anyway regardless
And it was then that Danny did confess
"I like you Sam, it may be love."
And the clouds, did Sam's heart soar above.
Danny climbed into the car,
Sam's heart, it fell so far.
And so he made one last promise,
And with it came a tender kiss.
"I'll be back. I will, I will.
I'll be at your prom, I will, even if my parents it does kill."
And with that he drove away,
Sam's heart was carried far astray.
Two years slowly they did go,
Danny's heart was carried to and fro.
A girl named Daisy he did meet,
Just a little faster his heart did beat,
But with Sam, she did not compete.
When he thought of their kiss he shivered down to his feet.
Soon enough it was graduation time,
And onto a plane did Danny climb.
He was not sure Sam would remember,
It had been a few Septembers.
But with confidence he flew away,
He wanted to see Sam on her special day.
He arrived at her home 2 hours later,
When he saw Sam he had to hate her.
Or at least he wanted to,
But to his heart the message did not get through.
For she was in the arms of another man,
He had to get her back, "I can, I can".
Start to tremble, did his chin
He knew that he looked a child,
But he really couldn't keep it in.
Sam heard the crying person and turned her head,
And suddenly her heart fell dead.
She scrambled from the arms of Ned,
And on Danny's chest she laid her head.
"You told me that you maybe loved me,
Well now I know it's true. I see…"
She leaned up and kissed him on the cheek,
He couldn't find the words to speak.
"Who's that guy?" he wanted to ask,
But it was then he remembered his task.
They headed off to eat some cake,
And left poor Ned alone in the wake,
He didn't argue, for their sake.
He could tell from just one glimpse,
Cause love like that it can't be missed.
