The bullet hits his forehead and he falls into black.
Into darkness.
Into death.
Jack knows it's not real but it feels it, it feels so bad, so dirty, so wrong.
It's coming for him.
He doesn't know what it is, doesn't have to, doesn't want to.
It's big and it's bad and it's after him. What else is there to know?
Everything.
He needs the Doctor back so bad, needs an explanation.
The black surrounds him, fills his lungs, drowns him. The moments pass – hours for seconds.
He takes a breath. Air. Real air. Real oxygen.
He opens his eyes and sees Suzie, still standing there with Gwen, with her gun. He pushes the black away and stands up.
