"It's ok, come on in" – Arizona invited her – "Do you want to go downstairs to the hotel's bar? I'm sorry, I'm in my pajamas but I can change clothes in a bit"

"No, don't worry. I won't take long!" – Amelia affirmed.

"What happened? Is everything ok?" – Arizona asked.

"Yes. Why?" – Amelia tried to come with a better answer but failed.

"Because you're here and we were at the bar an hour ago. I don't know, did something happened over there?" – Arizona was intrigued.

"Right. I… I actually don't know why I'm here. I just drove. I guess I wanted to say a proper goodbye before you leave tomorrow" – Amelia said.

"Amelia, is everything ok with you? You seem off" – Arizona asked, a little worried.

"Everything's right. I just… I don't know. It's weird. I have this connection with you. At work and outside the hospital, too. I guess I missed that. And you?" – Amelia answered, still not making much sense.

"Well, I feel the same. We get along really well, since Hopkins actually. But… is that all?" – Arizona insisted.

"Yes. Why? Is there anything else?" – Amelia asked.

"No. I mean, I don't know. Bailey made me an offer today" – Arizona changed the subject, she was afraid to let Amelia notice any weird feeling she might show.

"Really? Oh my God, that's awesome" – Amelia was overly happy.

"It is, but I'm not accepting" – Arizona said, making Amelia look disappointed.

"Why? You said you missed Seattle and working in here" – Amelia asked.

"I do. I really do. I really do not have any connection with NY, but I can't leave Sofia and the clinic" – Arizona said and sat on the bed, inviting Amelia to do the same.

"Can't Sofia move here with you? I mean, I know this is a lot to think about, but you should consider" – Amelia insisted.

"When Sofia was here she was miserable, missing Callie. And when she is in NY with Callie, she misses me. So, I don't know. Divorce is fucking hard, specially when the parents live in different cities" – Arizona confessed.

"I understand you. Although it was going to be so good to have you back" – Amelia said and this time looking sharply inside Arizona's eyes.

"I know. I wish I could say yes. Anyway… I'm always available for special cases like this one" – Arizona smiled.

"I hope there's more" – Amelia said and immediately corrected herself – "I mean, I'm not hoping to have sick babies, but you know what I mean"

"I know" – Arizona smiled again and this time Amelia shrugged. She didn't expect that smile to hit her so bad.

Since Amelia remained in silence, Arizona decided to change the subject again.

"And what about you? Feeling any better?" – Arizona asked, referring to Kai.

"About what?" – Amelia was honestly lost.

"Your ex" – Arizona clarified.

"Oh. Yes. I think I am. I don't know. I didn't have much time to think about that, actually" – Amelia answered, and looked at Arizona's left hand that was super close to her right hand. Just a few inches were separating a light touch between them.

"And in what you have been thinking about these days, then?" – Arizona provoked.

"A lot of things. Work. Scout. Our case. You" – Amelia confessed, looking away.

"Me?" – Arizona was surprised. They were flirting, but she didn't think Amelia would do anything.

"Yeah, you. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable" – Amelia tried to apologized, but Arizona grabbed her hand.

"You're not making me uncomfortable" – The blonde was staring fiercely at Amelia.

"That's all you're going to say? Ouch…" – Amelia joked, trying to light up the atmosphere.

"I'm sorry, I… I…" – Arizona was stammering.

"That's ok, please; you don't need to say anything. Actually…" – Amelia stood up and started to take a few steps towards the door – "I think it's pretty late and I should go…"

At this moment, Arizona followed Amelia and held her hand, forcing the neurosurgeon to look back. By the time their eyes met, Arizona leaned forward and kissed Amelia. At first, Amelia just received the kiss a little astonished, but after their lips parted, Amelia looked at the most beautiful pair of blue eyes in front of her and pulled Arizona back in another kiss, deeper and sexier this time.

They both wanted that so bad, more than they thought of. At the same time, ending the kiss could force an awkward conversation about what that means. Arizona would leave the next morning. It couldn't be more than just a consensual kiss between them.
