Ch 3: Mistaken
Okay, so first off, I am SO SORRY. I was really excited over Christmas break to post this story, and I told myself I would post a story a week… I got through the first two, and then class started again. I'm seriously sorry. Between class, work, and other college related things, I didn't really have time to write for a while… To make up for that, as soon as this chapter goes up, I'm going to finish one of my one-shots for you guys!
Also, this chapter was way too short the first time around so I'm gonna try and make it a little longer this time. Enjoy the beauty that is Amuto :)

"Amu PLEASE! I'm begging you! Just give me another chance! Open the door." Ikuto sounded tired. But I couldn't let him in. It was just all a joke. All I was to him was a toy, someone to mess with. I debated for a long time on whether or not I should open the door, and decided that I couldn't face him. Not yet. Even if I could finally accept that my stupid fairytale dreams would never happen. He was not going to suddenly realize that he and I belonged together, and ask me to be his girlfriend. We were not in a Taylor Swift music video. I don't think I could face the teasing and embarrassment that was sure to come now that he knew I liked him.
I noticed that he hadn't said anything in a while so I looked at my phone. 5:28AM. I thought he'd never leave! Ugh! I am so tired! But I still had an urge to see if he was still out there. Surely he would have given up by now. I got up and walked over to the door. I pulled back my curtain-that I'd bought today to keep Ikuto out- expecting to see Ikuto there, smirking. But he wasn't. I noticed that it was raining and when I looked down, I saw a small blue box with a pink ribbon on it. It had a small tag on it with rain splattered ink on it that said Amu.
Fighting curiosity, I walked away from the door and went downstairs. I grabbed a snack and turned off the lights. The house felt empty, since Mama and Papa had taken Ami out for the weekend. I think they were going to some circus or fair or something. They would be home tomorrow night… err I guess that would be tonight. Sighing, I made my way up the stairs to my room. I needed sleep, I was exhausted from crying and staying up so late. Before I got into bed, I stole another glance at my balcony door.
I couldn't stand it. I needed to know what was in the stupid box. I opened the door and knelt down, taking the small blue box in my hand and examining it. I opened it and turned to walk inside and froze. There was a note inside the box. Amu, I'm sorry. I love you too.- Ikuto Lifting the note out with a shaking hang, I found a beautiful necklace with a small charm on it. It was a small blue kitten holding a strawberry. I couldn't help but smile.
But now I was confused. I felt my eyes tear up. Ikuto loved me too? No. He couldn't love me. Could he? But, why did he laugh? Is this all just another joke? I thought of him, his smile, his jokes, and his endless teasing. I thought of his face when I yelled at him. He had looked pained. Maybe I over reacted, maybe I… I don't even know.
I had to talk to him. I had so many questions for him. I turned to look out at the empty sidewalk near my house. We lived at the end of a dead-end road across from a small forest that would sometimes bring animals into our yard. I scanned the road ahead looking for the shape of someone walking down the road. I turned and began to walk back into my room, shivering in the rain, but saw something out of the corner of my eye. A figure walking along the tree line not far from my house.
On an impulse I ran over to the balcony and leaned over so my feet came off the ground. "Ikuto?" I called out. Nothing. "IKTUO!" I yelled, hoping he could hear me. But of course he couldn't. the figure I had seen was a deer, that started at my outburst and ran back into the woods. I signed and jumped back down to my feet. A little too quickly. I slipped from the wetness of the rain, and since I was still leaning over the balcony, I Fell.
I screamed, trying to catch myself on the side of the balcony or a tree or anything. But my hands slipped off the tree branch, slippery from the rain. I fell toward the small alcove of pavement below my window where Ami's outdoor toys were.
My whole body hit the pavement at the same time. I heard a snapping noise as my legs twisted and my arms folded under me where I tried to brace my fall. My head hit the pavement making a sickening noise, and I was instantly dizzy. I tried to lift my head, but it hurt too much. I could feel blood pooling around me, but I didn't know where it was coming from. I felt like I was going to die right then and there.
I called out, but no one was awake this early. There was no one to help me. My family wouldn't be home until the evening, and we don't have many neighbors on our street. I seriously doubted that anyone will be strolling around down a dead end street at five thirty in the morning! I started to cry and cry, feeling dizzy. I tried to move my arms but the pain was excruciating. Then I mumbled one word before I blacked out.
"Ikuto."
Just to clarify: This IS my story. Some people messaged me saying I stole it from someone else because they had read this before, but honestly, it was mine. I took it down in 2012 and now I'm re-editing and re-posting it. If you have questions, see my profile page, or send me a message. Thanks!

aww oh no amu! Omg -gasp- she fel wow...i hope ikuto saves her or something :O
Ikuto made a mistake by laughing (BIG mistake), but Amu shouldnt have flipped out and yelled at him immidiatlly and stuff...well if i was Amu and that happened i would waiting a bit for him to stop laughing or look him straight in the eye and tell him your dead serious. Lol, that wouldve gave him a clearer idea xD Plus when ikuto confessed his love Amu didnt beleive him either so gRR. ehem anyways, enough blabbing from me X_X
