As the ship travels through the fiord, Anna was up on deck looking at the scenery. This was the first voyage that she and Elsa were on, and Anna is really enjoying this part of the journey. As Anna was enjoying herself, Elsa has come up on deck; and she is talking with the captain. After Anna sees Elsa up by the captain's wheel, she calls out to her sister. "Elsa! You really should come and experience this!" exclaims Anna.
"Just one second, Anna!" calls back Elsa before she has a few more words with the captain. Finally Elsa takes her leave of the captain and she walks up alongside of Anna, who was leaning up against the ship's rail. "So, what was it that you wanted to say, Anna?" asks Elsa as she places her hands on the ship's rail.
"I was just saying that you should really stop being the queen and just enjoy this trip," replies Anna. "This is the first journey out of Arendelle for either of us. This should be exciting, and you are missing out on all the marvelous scenes that are passing by us."
"Sorry Anna, but I just don't feel like being in a joyous mood," says Elsa. "I just had a word with the captain; and he says if we have good winds, it will be at least a month before we are able to land close to the Fire Glacier."
"Is that necessarily bad?" asks a concerned Anna.
"Kristian could only have a couple of weeks to a couple of months," replies Elsa. "It's possible that Kristian may not be with us anymore by the time we reach this Tollak."
"Kristian could also be fine for several weeks after we get to Tollak," says Anna trying to reassure Elsa. "Don't forget, Kristian also wasn't likely to be at the coronation anniversary; but he did get back in time for that."
"Yes, but Kristian had help from the King of Weselton," replies Elsa. "I don't think we will be able to find anyone that will help us shorten our journey."
"You must not think like that, Elsa," then says Anna. "Kristian can hang on. Besides, maybe we will have some very favorable winds to help us get there faster."
Then Elsa looks up at the sails and a smile begins to form on her face. "Favorable winds," says Elsa excitedly. "I think it will work!"
"What will work?" asks a puzzled Anna.
"I must go speak with the captain immediately!" says Elsa barely paying any attention to Anna. "And thank you for the wonderful idea!"
"What idea?" shouts Anna, as she watches her sister run off to speak with the captain.
As Anna watches Elsa run off, she sees Kristoff come out onto the deck of the ship. As she watches Kristoff walk over to her, Anna can see that he does not look all that well. As he nears, Anna says, "I'm glad that you came up on deck to be with me, Kristoff."
"I really just came up here to get a breath of fresh air," replies Kristoff. "But I am always glad to be you."
"I thought that you were not looking all that well," says Anna. "Are you feeling a bit seasick?"
"Compared to how Sven is feeling, I'm feeling pretty good," replies Kristoff with a sickly smile. "But I am feeling a bit queasy."
"Sven is really feeling seasick then?" asks Anna.
"Yep, and you really should see him," replies Kristoff. "He is lying down in his straw, and he is moaning away like he is about to die."
"Poor Sven," says Anna with a slight smile. "I do hope that he will be able to coup with the rest of the ship's journey."
"I think that we will both manage," replies Kristoff with a smile. "So what about you, are you enjoying this trip so far?"
"Initially, I was all excited about being here; but after talking with Elsa, some of the joy has gone away," says Anna.
"Elsa is just concerned about Kristian," replies Kristoff. "I don't think she will be all right until we get back to Arendelle."
"I know, but there isn't anything that we can do about it now," says Anna. "I just wish that she would relax and try to enjoy this ship ride. And what about you, are you feeling well enough to enjoy the scenery with me?"
"I might be feeling a little ill, but I think that I can enjoy a little time with you," replies Kristoff with a smile as he reaches his hand out to Anna.
Anna smiles as she places her hand into Kristoff's hand. Then they both lean on the ship's rail as they watch the scenery move by.
Eventually, the ship makes it into the open waters of the sea. As it does, Elsa walks to the center of the deck of the ship. Then she turns and shouts to the captain, "Captain, are you ready?"
"Aye, your majesty; I'm ready to go whenever you are," replies the captain.
"Ready for what?" asks Anna as she and Kristoff come walking up to Elsa.
"For the idea that you gave me," replies Elsa with a smile.
"What idea was that?" asks a puzzled Anna.
"You said that we should hope for favorable winds," replies Elsa. "Well we don't have to hope for those winds at all."
Then Elsa begins to wave her hands around in the air. As she does a dark storm cloud begins to form behind the ship. This cloud quickly grows into a raging snowstorm.
"Elsa, what are you doing?" asks Anna with concern.
"We don't have to wait for favorable winds. I can create them with my magic," replies Elsa.
Just then a strong wind comes out of the cloud, and it fills the sails. As the winds hit the sails, the ship lurches forward as the speed of the ship increases.
"The sails are holding my lady!" shouts the captain. "If we maintain this pace, we should be near the Fire Glacier in less than three weeks!"
"This is incredible, Elsa!" exclaims Anna as she has to brace herself against the wind and the rolling ship. "We are almost flying!"
"Ooahh," groans Kristoff as the shifting ship really begins to upset his stomach. "Ya, but how long can you keep the winds in the sails? The ship will continually move away from the storm."
"I will keep the storm moving even if I have to continually redevelop it to keep it behind the ship," replies Elsa.
For several hours, the ship sails at a pace unheard of by any living person. As it sailed, Anna and Kristoff have moved down below deck. Meanwhile, Elsa remained on deck to keep the storm going. As for Kristoff, he goes to be with Sven; and he was still not feeling well because of his seasickness. Meanwhile, Anna has gone to her room. While there, Anna lies on her bed, and she reads a book. However, after a few hours she gets bored with her reading. So Anna gets up, and she heads out of her cabin to find Kristoff.
There is a stall set up below deck, and there is a pile of straw in the stall. In this straw, both Sven and Kristoff are lying down. As Anna enters this area, she can hear Sven groaning away. As Anna nears, she can see Sven lying with his head propped up on the straw and all four of his legs splayed out from his body. Sven was also looking pretty green around the face.
As for Kristoff, he was lying with his back against the straw pile. As he laid there, Kristoff also had his arm up against his forehead as he rested. Kristoff was also not looking all that well, but at least he didn't look as bad as Sven.
"Hi Kristoff," says Anna as she leans her arms up against the rail of the stall. "Are you feeling any better?"
Kristoff lifts his arm up off of his head and he looks at Anna for a moment. Right now, Kristoff is trying to work his mind into a functioning state. He had been zoning out while he was lying in the straw. Now Kristoff lays his arm on his chest as he replies, "No, I'm feeling pretty much the same. I don't think I will be feeling better until we get back on solid ground."
"And how are you doing Sven?" then asks Anna as she looks at the reindeer.
In response, Sven lifts up his head and belches. The air from his belch quickly travels across the room, and Anna and Kristoff both react to the smell of Sven's belch.
Anna quickly lifts a hand in front of her face and waves it around to try and disperse the smell of Sven's belch. "Whoa Sven, you really need to change your diet or something. That breath of yours is almost overwhelming," says Anna.
"Ya, Sven is having a harder time than I am with this boat ride," replies Kristoff. "But we will both survive." Now Kristoff pats the straw next to him, to indicate that he wants Anna to sit down next to him.
Anna obliges his request, and she sits down in the straw. Then Anna leans down against the pile, so that she is now resting her head against her arm. In this position, she is able to look at Kristoff; and Kristoff is able to turn his head and look back at Anna. "This is actually kind of nice lying here," says Anna after a moment.
"I always think so," replies Kristoff. "It can be more comfortable than a bed but it does have its down side."
"Down side?" asks Anna.
"Well the straw always gets stuck in your clothing. So when you get up, you have to pull the straw out," replies Kristoff. "Plus, sometimes when you move around, you can get a painful poke from the straw stack itself."
"I wasn't really planning on doing anything anyway," says Anna. "Not with this storm of Elsa's tossing the ship back and forth."
"Ooah," groans Kristoff. "I wish you didn't say toss. My stomach is already doing that without you reminding me, but I will agree with your sentiment. I'm in no condition to be doing anything. So how long do you think Elsa will be creating this storm?"
"If I know Elsa, she won't quit until she has too," replies Anna. "And honestly, I really don't blame her. It is hard to say how long Kristian will be able to resist the effects of Goran's curse. So the sooner that we are able to get to the Fire Glacier, the sooner we will be able to help him."
"I know; but what good will Elsa be, if she is tired by the time we get there?" asks Kristoff. "What good will any of us be? Maybe you can take the rolling of the ship, but Sven and I are not doing so well. It is not like either one of us is going to be well rested by the time we get there."
"I never considered that," replies Anna as she sits up. "Maybe I should have a word with Elsa. She needs to be ready as well, when we all face Tollak."
After saying this, Anna lifts herself up off the straw pile; and she begins to head above deck. "Wait!" calls out Kristoff. "I'll come too. I can try and help you reason with her."
However, as Kristoff begins to walk, he is unstable and he has to stop. Kristoff then rest against the rail of the stall as he begins to look a little ill.
Kristoff, you need to take it easy," replies Anna with a slight smile. "I will talk with Elsa alone. You and Sven just need to rest up. We will need the both of you when we make land."
"I guess you're right," responds Kristoff as he begins to move back to the straw stack. "I wouldn't be much good at talking right now anyway."
"Good night Kristoff, and I hope that you are able to get some sleep," says Anna as she once again moves to see Elsa.
Outside on the deck of the ship, Elsa has been busy keeping the storm ragging behind the ship. Around Elsa's feet there is a broad ring of snow and ice. The ring has been growing wider ever since Elsa has been working on the storm. Besides the ring around Elsa, there is also ice clinging to many parts of the ship because of Elsa's winter storm.
As Anna comes above deck, she is astonished at the sight she is seeing. It is almost midsummer, and the ship looks as if it is the middle of winter. The air itself is bitterly cold, and Anna has to tightly hold her arms against her body to stay warm. When Anna sees Elsa, she slowly begins to walk towards her sister. The deck is icy, and Anna doesn't want to slip on the ice. Finally, Anna is close enough to Elsa for Elsa to hear her.
"Elsa! How long are you going to keep this storm going?" shouts Anna to be heard over the raging storm.
"As long as I possibly can," replies Elsa as she continues to focus on the storm.
"You will tire yourself out if you keep this up," objects Anna. "You need to stop to recover from all this energy you have been expending."
"Kristian needs my help, and I won't let him down," replies Elsa.
"I know Kristian needs you, but so does the rest of Arendelle," says Anna as she walks closer to Elsa. "I need you as well."
Finally, Elsa relaxes a bit, and she looks over to Anna. "I will always be here for you, Anna," says Elsa.
"I know that you will try, but you can't be all things to everyone," replies Anna. "Right now, you are so focused on helping Kristian that you are forgetting about everyone else aboard this ship."
"What do you mean?" asks Elsa. "What do the others on board need from me?"
"Look around you, Elsa," replies Anna. "It is starting to get dark out. You have been going nearly all day without stopping. Everyone, who isn't important to the sailing of the ship, is below deck to find shelter from the wind and ice. While we all are willing to take some discomfort in helping you, even we get fatigued from this harsh weather and rocking ship."
"Are those on board really having a difficult time of it?" asks Elsa.
"I am managing alright, but I do know that Kristoff and Sven are having a tough time of it," replies Anna. "If the ship doesn't settle down, I don't think either one of them is going to feel well enough to sleep or do anything else."
"Perhaps, I am pushing things too much," says Elsa as she finally stops. "I'll let things settle down for the night before I begin again tomorrow."
"I'm glad to hear that, and Sven and Kristoff will definitely be glad to hear that," replies Anna with a smile.
Elsa smiles as well. "I hope those two will be OK," says Elsa.
"They'll coup," replies Anna with a smile. "In fact, we all will be able to coup with a good night's rest."
With that, Anna and Elsa head back to their cabin where both sisters eventually get ready for bed.
Next morning, Elsa gets up early like she has always done. While Elsa was finishing getting herself ready for the day, Anna awakes. Anna yawns and stretches as she sits up in bed.
"Good morning, Anna," says Elsa warmly as she turns to look at her sister.
"Morning," replies Anna groggily, as she peeks out of her barely open eyes.
"So did you manage to get a good night's sleep?" asks Elsa.
"I think so," replies Anna as she swings her legs off the bed. "It's hard for me to tell right now. I'm not fully awake."
Elsa smiles as she turns back towards a mirror. Elsa still needs to finish with her hair. "Even when we were little, you always were a late riser."
A smile comes to Anna's face as she looks at the back of her sister. So Anna then gets up off the bed, and she walks up behind Elsa.
Elsa looks at the image of Anna in the mirror and asks lightly, "Yes, Anna?"
With that, Anna bends down and drops her chin down on Elsa's shoulder and wraps her arms around Elsa's shoulders. Then with a big smile on her face, Anna gives her sister a big hug. All the while, Anna is looking at Elsa's face in the mirror.
"Anna! What is all this about?" asks a surprised Elsa.
"Don't you realize that the last time we slept in the same room together was when we were just kids," replies Anna with a big grin.
A big smile comes to Elsa's face as she hears this. So Elsa reaches up and lays a hand on Anna's arm. "So that is what all this is about, memories of our fond childhood," says Elsa.
"I always hoped that we may someday reconnect with each other, but it never felt like it was ever going to happen," says Anna as she stands upright. "Now I can't seem to stop enjoying these little moments that I have with you."
"I'm sure that there will be many more to come," replies Elsa as she finishes with her hair. Then she gets up and begins to head to the door. "However, right now, we are on a mission to help Kristian. As soon as everyone has eaten, I will begin again on creating the winds to blow the ship northward. So Anna, I would appreciate your cooperation this morning."
"I'm not that slow, Elsa," replies Anna. "I'll be ready in time for you."
"I didn't want to offend you. I just wanted to make sure you understood the urgency," says Elsa apologetically.
"I wasn't offended. OK, maybe I was a little annoyed; but I do understand the urgency," replies Anna. "I just hope you understand that you are not doing this alone. I am here for you. So is everyone on this ship and those back in Arendelle as well."
"I'll try to remember that I am not alone in this," replies Elsa. "Now if you don't mind, I need to see to everyone else on the ship."
With that, Elsa departs to talk with the captain and to have her morning meal. Meanwhile Anna quickly gets herself ready; and in no time, she is heading to the galley as well.
It doesn't take too long, before everyone on board is ready for Elsa to begin her winter winds again. Even Kristoff is up and about. He is feeling better, and Kristoff even has breakfast with Elsa and Anna. Once everyone is ready, Elsa once again takes her place on the deck of the ship, and again she begins to create the storm that the winds will come from.
For the next few weeks, Elsa will create these winter winds that blow against the sails of the ship. However, due to the advice that she has received from Anna, Elsa stops her storm for the night. Elsa even takes a break for the noon hour meal. However; unbeknownst to everyone, including Elsa, the exertion that Elsa is putting into the creation of these winds is beginning to have an effect on her.
(Just a footnote. Since I am not sure how the story should be going, I'm just letting my mind wander. We will all see, where my mind will end up taking me.)
