Back in Arendelle, things have gone fairly well with Kristian for the first week. With Elsa gone, the invisible pressure that her magic was causing on Kristian was no longer there. So Kristian was able to control his flare ups, with the help of Grand Pabbie. However, the same could not be said for the rest of the palace.

The young troll that had accompanied Grand Pabbie was getting restless spending his time in the dungeon. For the first few days, the young troll had been satisfied with just exploring the other cells in the dungeon. However, he soon knew every corner and stone that was in that part of the palace. The young troll stayed in the dungeon because he had been told to stay close to Kristian's cell. The main reason for this was because few people ever ventured down to this part of the palace.

Well since the young troll was getting bored, he ventured up to the main part of the palace. The troll was amazed by what he was able to see. He quickly hopped about the palace checking things out. The young troll tried to stay out of sight; but one time, there was no place to hide. So to disappear, the young troll rolled up into a ball.

As a servant came into view of the troll, all he saw was a round rock. "What is a rock doing in her?" asks the servant. "It should be removed." So the servant departs to get some help to remove the rock.

As the servant leaves, the young troll quickly rolls away. Then when the servant returns with help, he says, "The rock is in here."

As they enter, the second servant asks, "So where is this rock?"

The first servant stands in disbelief as he doesn't understand where the rock went. "It was right over there," exclaims the servant. Then using his hands, the servant shows the size of the rock and says, "It was this big, and it was round. It was even partly covered in moss."

"A moss covered rock," says the second servant. "So, what did it do? Roll away?" As the servants were talking, the young troll quickly rolled down the hall away from the servants.

At another point, the young troll was so engrossed in the paintings on the wall; he didn't notice another servant coming towards him. This servant had his arms full, and he couldn't see the floor. So unfortunately, the servant tripped over the young troll and spilled the items that he was carrying. "Ahh!" exclaims the servant as he falls. The servant then tries to see what he had tripped over, but he finds nothing there. However, he did catch something out of the corner of his eye. The servant manages to catch a glimpse of the young troll rolling away. "What on earth?" exclaims the servant, as he lies on the floor.

Finally, there was another time where the young troll was about to be discovered. So the young troll finds a door and hops behind the door. This door was to a linen closet. There wasn't a lot of room behind the door. So the young troll ends up placing himself on one of the shelves. However, the servant that the young troll heard is carrying a stack of clean sheets. She was on her way to place them in the linen closet.

When the servant reaches the linen closet, she opens the door. The first things that she sees are a pair of eyes looking back at her. Since the young troll was discovered, he leaps out of the linen closet. In response, the servant screams; and she falls backwards. As she falls, the linens that she was carrying were thrown into the air. These linens quickly cover the servant, and she can no longer see where the young troll is going. The servant screams again as she struggles to get out from underneath the linens.

As the servant struggles with the linens, the young troll quickly runs away. As he runs, the young troll does have to temporarily duck into a hiding spot. This is because other servants came running due to the screams of the other servant. After they pass, the young troll quickly hurries on his way.

The young troll was on the second floor. So to get down stairs, he slides down the banister. He slides right past another servant coming up the stairs. This servant was shocked by the presence of the troll, but he could not make out what the creature was. Meanwhile, the young troll was happily running through the palace, as he makes his way back to the dungeon.

Once he gets to Kristian's room, the young troll comes to a sliding stop in the center of the room. "Hey, Grand Pabbie!" exclaims the young troll. "So, how are things going down here?"

Grand Pabbie, who was busy attending to Kristian, replies, "Things are going well enough for the circumstances. At the moment, we are trying to release some of the built up energy of the curse. However, your abrupt appearance makes me wonder what you have been up too."

"I was just checking things out," says the young troll happily.

"It sounds like you did more than just check things out," replies Grand Pabbie. "Did you venture outside the dungeons, young one?

"I was getting bored down here," says the young troll. "I had already checked out the whole dungeon area. So I decided to check out this building we are in."

"That was a very reckless decision," replies Grand Pabbie. "You may have been spotted. Humans are easily scared, and their fear may cause them to act irrationally."

"I wasn't spotted," chirps the young troll. "Well, at least not by many."

"We will talk later, but now I have to help Kristian," replies Grand Pabbie.

As this was going on down in the dungeon, there was a large commotion going on up in the palace. A number of servants were gathered together and they were clamoring on about what was going on in the palace. As they were talking, Olaf has walked into their midst.

"I swear to you, I saw a creature in the linen closet!" exclaims the female servant, who was handling the linens.

"I saw something as well," replies another servant. "Whatever it was, it slid down the banister."

"You are talking about unknown creatures. Well what about a disappearing rock," says yet another servant. "At one moment, it was there. Then it was gone less than a minute later."

"A rock? I think I tripped over a rock," says yet another servant. "The next thing I knew, it was rolling out of the room on its own power."

Finally, a head servant addresses everyone in the room. "Everyone, please calm down!" exclaims the head servant. "Yes, there have been many strange things happening today. However, no one has been hurt, and no real harm has been done. I am certain there is a reasonable explanation for everything that has been going on."

"Of course there is an explanation," replies the Captain of the Palace Guard as he comes walking up to the group of servants. "The queen is gone; and without her protection, the dangers in the world are beginning to venture into Arendelle."

"My Lord Captain, there is no need for such dire remarks," says the head servant. "We have never had witness to the outside dangers in Arendelle before, when the queen was here. The queen's leaving would not have caused it.

"You are right, sir," replies the Captain. "Something is bringing this evil into Arendelle."

Just then a whoosh of flame is heard coming from outside the palace. In response, this group of servants looks out a window. What they are able to see is some flame and smoke dissipating into the air, after it had exited a cell window of the dungeon.

After witnessing this, the Captain then says, "And I think we all know who is bringing these events to Arendelle."

The servants begin to clamor among themselves again. So Olaf starts to walk away. "Boy, a rock monster," exclaims Olaf. "I better go down and tell Kristian about this."

In a short while, Olaf has arrived down in the dungeon and Kristian's room. "Hey, Kristian! Guess what!" exclaims Olaf.

"What is it, Olaf," replies Kristian as he sits on the edge of his bed. Kristian is a little fatigued right now. This is because Kristian had to release a controlled burst of fire, and this release drained some of his physical energy.

"There is a commotion going on up among some of the palace staff," says Olaf. "Apparently, they are talking about a rock creature that has been creating havoc in the palace."

With this statement, Kristian and Grand Pabbie look over to the young troll with some look of disapproval. "I think that we might know whom this rock creature might be," replies Kristian

"You do? So who is it?" asks Olaf.

"He's standing right over there," replies Kristian as he points to the young troll.

"Hey! I wasn't causing any problems!" exclaims the young troll. "I was only looking around. So I accidentally bumped into a few of them. There was no real harm done."

"Child, I did warn you of the human's irrational fears," replies Grand Pabbie. "You were fortunate that their fears didn't escalate into actions."

"Well, no real harm was done," adds Kristian. "However, the next time that you want to go exploring the palace, it would be best if you took either Olaf of me along with you."

"Oh, that would be great!" exclaims the young troll. "There is so much more that I haven't yet looked at in this place."

Very well child, you may go on a guided tour of the palace," replies Grand Pabbie. "However, your tour will have to wait until tomorrow. It would be best if you allow emotions to settle down before you venture out again."

"No problem, Pabbie!" exclaims the young troll. "I've had my fun for the day."

With that, everyone begins to settle down for the evening. Olaf and the young troll hang out together, as spend some time messing around in the dungeon. Meanwhile, Kristian moves to another cell where some of his possessions were moved to. Once there, Kristian writes a brief entry into his journal about the day. As for Grand Pabbie, he rolls up and takes a long nap. Tonight, Grand Pabbie is going to be up parts of the night. During the night, Kristian's magic will flare; and Grand Pabbie must work on helping Kristian's fire from flaring too much.

Next morning, Olaf had showed up at Kristian's room early. As Olaf entered the room, Kristian was still lying in bed. "Hi, Kristian. Are you not feeling any better?" says Olaf.

Kristian rolls over and looks at Olaf. Then slowly he pushes himself up into a sitting position. Then with a stretch, he says, "No, I'm not feeling any better; but at least I'm not feeling any worse."

"So do you feel up to getting some breakfast?" then asks Olaf.

"I guess so. I still need to eat," replies Kristian. So Kristian gets himself up to venture to the dining room. As he does, small flames flicker off of his body.

Just as Kristian gets ready, Olaf asks, "So, are you good to go?"

"Let me grab my gloves, and then I will be set," replies Kristian.

Soon Kristian and Olaf begin to walkout of Kristian's room. As they get into the hallway, the young troll runs after them. "Hey! Can I come with you?" asks the young troll.

Both Kristian and Olaf turn around to look at the young troll. "Um, I don't know. You, sort of, stirred people up yesterday. It might be better to give them a few days to settle down," replies Kristian.

"Oh, come on!" objects the young troll. "I've been cooped down here for a week. I need to roam about. Besides, you said yesterday that I could go exploring the palace if I was with you or Olaf. Well, you both are going together, so I figured that it would be all right if I go with the both of you. Besides, Grand Pabbie is napping right now. He is not going to be any fun until he wakes up."

Kristian is not sure about taking the troll into the rest of the palace. However, before he can decide what should be done, Olaf speaks up. "I think that it would be a great idea," chirps Olaf. "I always enjoy going places with new friends."

"I'm not sure that it would be a good idea," says Kristian as he looks down at Olaf. "You know how people can react to strange things. Just think how people first reacted to you."

"Oh, you are talking about all the shrieking and stuff," replies Olaf. "Ya, people can get a little weirded out at times, but they have good hearts. Once they knew who I was, they were very accepting of me. So if we introduce him to people, things will turn out just fine."

Kristian looks at Olaf for a while, and Kristian weakens as he stares at Olaf's smiling face. Finally, Kristian says, "I'm still uncertain that this is the right move; but fine, the young troll can come along."

"Yay!" exclaims the young troll as he quickly bounds towards Olaf and Kristian. "Now I will be able to really check this place out!"

"We will have a fun time checking everything out," adds a happy Olaf, as he and the young troll begin to move down the hall.

"Hold on you two!" exclaims Kristian as he quickly follows after the pair. "There needs to be a couple of ground rules. You both have to understand that people will not be ready for this. You need to try to not surprise anybody with your presences."

"How am I supposed to do that?" asks the young troll.

"With a sigh, Kristian says, "We will have to figure that out when we come to it."

"We won't come to anything, if we don't get a move on," chirps Olaf. "Let's get going!"

"OK Olaf, we will be moving," replies Kristian as he and the young troll begin to follow Olaf through the palace.

In no time, the group led by Olaf reaches the dining room without incident. Olaf is the first one to enter and he greets the servant in the room who is preparing the table. "Hi there!" exclaims Olaf.

The servant looks up from her work and sees Olaf and Kristian enter. However, she fails to see the young troll. The young troll is trying not to make a big show of himself. So the young troll's movements are limited and he positions himself in more obscure locations.

"Good morning, Kristian," says the servant in a greeting. "I was just preparing the table for you. So did you have a restful night?"

"As well as can be expected," replies Kristian as he moves towards the chair at the table.

As Kristian nears, the servant moves to the other side of the table. She is worried about Kristian's magic, but Elsa had left orders for Kristian to be taken care of. Since she moved around the table, the servant once again failed to see the young troll as he walks with Kristian. Now the table obscures the young troll from the servant's sight.

As Kristian sits himself down at the table, he says, "Goran's curse is still causing me problems, but so far it has been managed.

"I do hope you are able to maintain your health," says the servant. "I know that her majesty certainly wishes for your continued health and recovery."

"As do I. I just hope that Elsa isn't putting herself in too much danger for my sake," replies Kristian.

"We all hope that," replies the servant. "Now if you will excuse me, I shall fetch you your breakfast."

"Don't forget to bring two plates!" exclaims Olaf.

"Two plates?" questions the servant.

"Sure, two people have got to eat," replies Olaf.

The servant departs with a puzzled look on her face. Meanwhile, Kristian turns to look at Olaf. Then with a smile, Kristian says, "Two plates."

"Sure. Our young companion will need to eat too," replies Olaf.

In a short while, the servant returns with two plates of food. She places the first place in front of Kristian and then she places the second place down next to him. Then the servant steps away from the table.

"Oh, not to intrude on your meal, but did you hear about the commotion that went on yesterday?" asks the servant.

"Yes, Olaf told me about it," says Kristian with a smile.

"Ya, and we are sorry about the disturbance that our friend had caused," adds Olaf.

"Your friend?" replies the servant. "Some people were saying that you may be the reason for creature's appearance in the palace. Is this true?"

"In a way, yes," says Kristian. "They are here by the request of Queen Elsa."

"Elsa asked for their help in assisting Kristian," adds Olaf.

"The queen sent for these creatures?" asks the surprised servant.

Then the young troll hops up onto a chair and sticks his head above the table. "Yep! Elsa sent for Grand Pabbie," exclaims the young troll.

"Ayiee!" screams the servant as she sees the young troll. The servant also quickly backs away until her back hits the wall.

"Boy, humans really are tightly strung," says the young troll.

"I seem to get that all the time with new friends," replies Olaf.

"Just, calm down. He is a friend," says Kristian to the servant. "He is just a young troll from the country side."

"A troll!" exclaims the servant. "They are not even supposed to be in the village, let alone the palace!"

"But it is their experience with magic that is helping Kristian," says Olaf. "Without them, Kristian's fire could be blazing away with no control."

Just then a commotion is heard out in the hall. This noise is coming from people responding to the servant's screams. The servant has regained some of her senses. So she steps forward and exclaims to the young troll, "Quick, hide yourself!"

So the young troll jumps down from the chair, and he rolls himself up. Then the young troll rolls underneath Kristian's chair. Just as he gets under the chair a group of palace guards burst into the dining room. They all quickly look around the room. Soon their eyes fall upon the servant.

"Miss, what was the screaming for?" asks one of the men.

"I… um… I… ahh…," stammers the servant.

"It was my fault," interjects Kristian. "I accidentally flared up and scared the lady."

"Yes! Yes, I was startled by an unexpected blaze," quickly adds the servant. "But no harm was done. Everything is fine."

This guard looks at the servant for a moment. Then he looks over at Kristian. "Your fires are getting more and more erratic," says the guard. "The Captain shall be notified of your increased risk to the palace."

"But the queen left orders for Kristian to be taken care of until her return," objects the servant.

Those may be your orders, but the Captain's orders were to protect Arendelle," replies the guard.

"But…," begins to say the servant.

However, Kristian interrupts. "He's right. The Captain's responsibility is to protect Arendelle. However, I am not yet a threat to the village. In fact, I may be the best protection that Arendelle has; and if the Captain thinks that I am a threat, he may ask me to leave."

"He can ask, but I don't think Elsa would like that very much," chirps Olaf. "Elsa is very protective of her friends, and few are as close to her as Kristian is."

"Very well, I will inform the Captain of this as well," replies the guard as he and the other men depart.

"You can come out now. They're gone," says Olaf as he addresses the young troll.

So the young troll pops out, and he jumps back up onto the chair. "So what was the big deal about having me hide from those guys?" asks the young troll.

"Those men were the palace guards," says the servant. "They would not take kindly to your presence here in the palace."

"And it looks like I might be losing any sort of influence that I might have had over them," adds Kristian.

"Those men were part of the elite guard," interjects Olaf. "Guys picked by the Captain himself. They are always a bit higher strung that the rest. The other guards won't be as stiff. Still, I wonder why the elites are in the palace and not the regular guys."

"They are here because of yesterday's events," replies the servant. "And the Captain is not looking too kindly on you, sir."

"He has a right to be worried," says Kristian. "I'm concerned about my abilities as well."

"So, what does this mean for me?" asks the young troll. "Does that mean I won't be able to check out the palace?"

"Of course you can!" exclaims Olaf. "You are the guest of the queen, and I can be your guide."

"Why don't all of you eat first, and I shall notify the Chancellor and other staff about your presence," replies the servant. "That way we won't have another incident like we did yesterday. Oh, and please avoid the palace guards. They will not be as understanding."

With that, the servant takes a momentary leave of the group. Meanwhile, Kristian and the young troll enjoy their breakfast.

After Kristian and the young troll have eaten their breakfast, Olaf takes the young troll on a guided tour of the palace. However, Kristian did not go with them. Kristian had been controlling his magic all morning and he was starting to get fatigued. So Kristian ventures out to the water's edge near the palace. Once Kristian gets outside, he allows his fire to emerge; and the flames soon crawl up his arms. These flames eventually end up flicker off of his shoulders.

As Kristian gets to the edge of the water, he sits down. While he sits there, Kristian closes his eyes and focuses on releasing his energy. In moments, the fire on Kristian's body roars to life; and the flames reach skyward. For several minutes, Kristian releases this energy safely away from the palace. However, Kristian does not go unnoticed.

Standing at one of the windows is the Captain of the Palace Guards. He looks down at Kristian with displeasure. Standing near him are two of his elite guards. "Kristian's powers are beginning to become more problematic," says the Captain.

"Do you wish for the elite guards to take care of this problem?" asks one of the men with the Captain.

"We cannot handle this problem like we would with other similar situations," replies the Captain. "Kristian is under the care of the palace staff. Until they see the threat that this man is too Arendelle, we cannot move against Kristian. Acting too early will only bring the queen's anger down upon us. We have to be able to justify any of our actions against him to Queen Elsa."

"Why has the queen allow this man to live in Arendelle anyway?" asks one of the elite guards.

"The queen is alone, and she is seeking a companion. Since no ordinary man would ever dare to risk himself to connect with the queen, she has turned to this man. This is a grave mistake on the queen's part. Since fire cannot live in peace with ice," replies the Captain. "It is unfortunate for the queen, but she will always be alone. So our true duty in Arendelle is to watch over the next heir to the throne, Princess Anna. She is the future of the kingdom."

Once Kristian was done with his controlled release of energy, he gets up and ventures into the village of Arendelle. As he walks through the streets, some people inquire about his health. Kristian always tries to respond as accurately as he can to their questions. With all those individuals that he spoke with, they all wished him well. Eventually, Kristian ends up at the blacksmith. Here he works for the rest of the day. It was a place that Kristian could use his magic openly, and many children would come and watch Kristian as he worked. In Kristian current state, this was one of the few things that he could still do that he enjoyed.
