The Captain walks out of his room and calls out to a nearby servant. "Notify the Elite Guard! The palace is no longer safe, and we must act to remove the threat before the palace is totally burnt down to the ground!"

"Yes sir," replies the servant as he hurries off to notify the staff and the guards of the Captains orders.

It takes several minutes before members of the Elite Guard are assembled. While they were gathering, the Captain had sent two guards down to stand guard over the entrance that leads into the dungeon. Eventually, the Elite Guards have assembled.

Now the Captain of the Palace Guard steps forward to address the men. "Many of you already know why we are gathered her. Arendelle and the palace are in danger," exclaims the Captain. "Most of you have witnessed many of the uncontrolled fires that the man Kristian has been producing. Well tonight you may have witnessed the severity of what this man is capable of. The palace was just seconds away from being engulfed in flames, and who knows what would be next after the palace. It is the Elite Guard's responsibility to protect what is important to the royal family of Arendelle. Without us, there would be no kingdom for Princess Anna to inherit. So it is for the future of Arendelle that we must act now before the village itself is lost!"

Just then the Chancellor of Arendelle comes walking into the room. "Captain, you are over stepping your authority!" exclaims the Chancellor. "Queen Elsa did not give you orders to act against Kristian!"

"Not directly, but the queen did give me orders to protect Arendelle!" replies the Captain strongly. "Right now, the palace is in jeopardy because of Kristian's presence. So far the fires have been dealt with, but how long will it be before something happens that the people of Arendelle will not be able to handle?"

"I'm sorry Captain, but I must disagree with you," says the Chancellor. "The person who has been dealing with the fires has been Kristian, not any of the palace staff. So if you are concerned with the threat that these fires present to the palace, you should be talking with Kristian."

"It would be insane to talk to the person that is creating the threat!" exclaims the Captain. "He will only be concerned with self-preservation and not Arendelle. So I intend to take matters into my own hands."

"I am opposed to you taking any action against Kristian," replies the Chancellor. "So will be many people here in Arendelle. Kristian is now a member of Arendelle, and he is also a favorite of the queen. So I see no reason for any kind of harsh action against the Fire Prince."

"You see no reason!" exclaims the Captain. "Did you not see the fire that erupted out all the windows of the palace? What more do you need to convince you that Kristian needs to be dealt with?"

"I am aware of what happened earlier," replies the Chancellor. "I am also aware that even with the fire, no real damage was done. So I refuse to give you permission to act against Kristian."

"You refuse? You have no authority over me or the Elite Guards," says the Captain.

"And you have no authority to act alone on this matter," sternly replies the Chancellor. "When no one of the royal family is around, all decisions must be made through the royal council; and I know you have not consulted the council."

"I do not need to consult the council when time is of the essence," says the Captain. "To consult the council would mean a delay in action. I cannot wait for the council to gather. Any delay could bring Arendelle closer to a fiery disaster."

"Have you lost track of time, sir?" replies the Chancellor. "It is already morning, and this morning the council will be meeting. Arendelle can survive an hour until you argue your case."

"It would be pointless," says the Captain. "Action must be taken."

"It is not pointless," responds the Chancellor. "If you intend to go against the wishes of Queen Elsa, you better have the support of the majority of the royal council.

The Captain just stands there, glaring at the Chancellor. Finally the Captain relents to the Chancellor's arguments. "Very well, the Royal Council shall be addressed. However, I am also aware of the concern that many people have in the village about Kristian," says the Captain. So something must be done about Kristian."

With that said, the Captain of the Palace Guard heads off to meet with the royal council; and the Chancellor of Arendelle follows. They leave behind members of the Elite Guard and a few servants that witnessed the argument between these two men. While the Elite Guards return to their duties and await further orders, the servants go off and discuss events among themselves. They soon come up with their own opinion and their own course of action.

As the Captain and the Chancellor were arguing, Olaf had gone and loaded up a handcart with a couple of ice blocks from the palace kitchen. He was now hauling those blocks back to Kristian's room in the dungeon. As Olaf nears the entrance to the dungeon, he runs into the two guards placed there by the Captain of the Palace Guard.

"Stop!" exclaims one of the guards. "No one is permitted to enter the dungeon."

"Hi guys!" chirps Olaf as he comes to a stop with the handcart. "Kristian needs me and the ice I've got here. So I need to get pass the two of you to see him."

The two guards step closer together to more thoroughly block the entrance into the dungeon. "I repeat, no one is allowed to see the prisoner," exclaims the guard.

"Prisoner? There are no prisoners down in the dungeon right now. There are only Kristian and a few other friends," replies Olaf. "So excuse me while I go see them." With that Olaf begins to push the hand cart towards the doorway to the dungeon.

In response to Olaf's move, the two guards draw their swords. The guards then point the swords right at Olaf, nearly touching him. "Aye!" cries out Olaf as the points of the swords come close to him. Olaf has to stop moving to keep from being skewered on the ends of the swords.

"The Captain gave orders that the prisoner is to see no one. Do I make my point clear?" says the guard.

"Yes, your point is clear. In fact both of your points are clear," says Olaf as he touches the end of one of the swords with his wooden finger. "And it is a very sharp point at that. Fine, then I guess that I have to go then."

With that, Olaf turns around with the cart and begins to walk away. As Olaf walks away, the two guards move back to their original standing positions. They also begin to sheath their swords. However, with their attentions on putting their swords away, they were not ready for what Olaf does next.

Olaf turns around and begins to run towards the opening with the handcart, between the two guards. Olaf laughs happily as he manages to get between the guards. "Stop!" exclaim the guards as they try to respond to Olaf's action. Both of these men jump and grab onto Olaf as he passes them. However, what is happening next leaves the guards dumbfounded.

Both men had grabbed onto Olaf's middle section. Yet Olaf kept running. While Olaf's middle section stopped moving, the hand cart was still moving. Olaf was still hanging onto the handcart, and his arms came off of his body. However, Olaf's arms quickly reattached themselves to the lower part of his body, which was still moving. Also Olaf's head quickly hopped down onto his lower body as well. This just left the two guards lying on the floor, hanging onto Olaf's middle section.

"Bye guys!" cheerfully says Olaf as he waves to the guards lying on the floor. "Take care of my body!" So without his center section, Olaf continues to head to Kristian's room.

"What now?" asks one of the guards to the other guard. "Do we go after him?"

"What would be the point," says the other guard. "That snowman is set on his course. Besides, he can't do anything; and he is going to learn a hard lesson, when he meets up with this fire demon. He'll have to be hauled out with a mop and bucket." Finally the two guards let go of Olaf's middle section, and it begins to roll into the dungeon after Olaf.

In a few moments, Olaf enters Kristian's room with his cargo of ice blocks. "Hi guys!" chirps Olaf. "So, how is Kristian doing?"

"He is stable for now, but his condition is not good," replies Grand Pabbie.

Then after noticing Olaf's condition, the young troll speaks up, "Olaf! What happened to you?" asks the young troll.

"Oh, there were some guards at the entrance to the dungeon," replies Olaf. "For some reason they didn't want me in here. So they are holding my middle hostage until I return. Apparently the Captain of the Guard thinks that there is a prisoner down here."

"I've been through this entire dungeon, and there isn't anybody else down here," says the young troll.

"They're talking about me," says Kristian as he is lying down on his bed. Flames are still coming off of his body. Since Kristian can no longer keep the energy of the magic he contains within his body.

"But you're not a prisoner," objects Olaf. "You're Kristian, Elsa's boyfriend; and this is your home."

"I would like to think that Arendelle could be my home; but if I do, I have to think of Arendelle before myself," replies Kristian. "That is what the Captain is doing. He sees me as a threat to Arendelle."

"You're not a threat. You are just feeling a bit under the weather," says Olaf as his middle comes rolling into the room.

"Yes, but when I get ill, everyone around me will feel my fever," replies Kristian. "I think it is time that I depart Arendelle, for the safety of everybody."

"Do you really think that you are able to leave Arendelle?" asks Olaf as he puts himself back together.

"I have to at least try," replies Kristian.

"Why don't you wait a while before you go," interjects Grand Pabbie. "If you are going to attempt to travel, we need to try and improve your physical condition."

"I am feeling tired and hot. It probably would be best if we could do something about it before I have to move," replies Kristian.

"Of course you're hot," chirps Olaf. "I would be too if I was covered in flames. That is why I brought some ice."

"Olaf, if you were covered in flames, you would be a puddle," replies Kristian with a weary smile.

"Yes, but at least I would be a happy puddle," says a chipper Olaf.

"It is good to hear that your spirits are high, and the ice that Olaf brought will be beneficial," interjects Grand Pabbie. "So Kristian let us begin our work."

With that, Grand Pabbie begins to create his magical ether. This ether sweeps down upon the ice blocks that Olaf had brought into the room. As it does, this ether quickly peels the ice away. Soon the ice blocks are floating as small ice crystals in the magical ether. These crystals sparkle with almost a mesmerizing dance as the ether floats over the top of Kristian. As this magical ether descends down upon Kristian, the fire on Kristian flares and sparks some before the flames begin to die down to a low flicker. For the next several minutes, Grand Pabbie works with Kristian to improve the delicate state that Kristian is in.

As Grand Pabbie attends to Kristian, the servant that usually attends to Kristian in the dining room comes down to the entrance to the dungeon. She is carrying a covered tray with food on it. This servant soon comes face to face with the two guards at the entrance.

"Stop!" exclaims one of the guards as he holds his hand forward with the palm facing the servant. "No one is permitted to enter the dungeon."

"Good morning, gentlemen," replies the servant as she gives them a slight curtsey. "I am only here to bring Kristian his breakfast, nothing more."

Sorry miss, but the Captain of the Guard has given orders that no one is to see the prisoner," says the guard.

"Prisoner?" lightly asks the servant. "I was not aware that Kristian had done anything wrong."

"Were you not here when the palace was full of fire?" asks one of the guards.

"Oh yes, I was here earlier this morning when the fire went through the palace," replies the servant. "It was quite startling. Yet, I have also seen fire in the palace before; and nothing ever came from those instances."

"How can you disregard the threat that this man's fire could cause?" asks one of the guards. "His flames are threatening the very palace itself."

"Oh, I ignore it just like I ignore the threat that a perpetual winter could happen in the middle of summer," replies the servant lightly. "Still, if you insist that I must not do my duties for the queen, then I will take my leave. I just hope that Queen Elsa does not reprimand you too severely. Since the queen did give me the responsibility to make sure that Kristian is well taken care of."

"The Captain gave us orders to make sure that Kristian was secure in the dungeon," says one of the guards a little uncertain now about following this order.

"Oh, I am not telling you to disregard the Captain's orders; but do the Captain's commands out rank the will of the Queen of Arendelle?" lightly replies the servant.

After a slight pause as the guards mull over what the servant had said, one of the guards respond, "Bring that tray over here."

So the servant carries the tray closer to the guards, and one of them lifts the lid off the tray. "That is a lot of food for one person," says one of the guards.

"Ah… yes," replies the servant a little uneasy. "Well Kristian does seem to have a bigger appetite lately. It must have something to do with his current condition."

"There is nothing here that can be deemed as a threat," says one of the guards. Then he turns to the other guard and says, "I'm inclined to allow her to follow the queen's wishes."

"I think it would be the prudent move," replies the second guard. "I wouldn't want to upset the queen if we don't have too."

"Very well, you made proceed with your duties," says the first guard as both guards part to allow the servant to pass.

"Thank you gentlemen, I will tell the queen of your assistance on her return," replies the servant as she passes between the two guards.

It does not take long for the servant to walk to the cell that is Kristian's room. Once there, she finds Kristian lying on his bed with a magical ether surrounding him. Grand Pabbie stands next to Kristian, and he is the one generating this ether. Also standing in the room are Olaf and the young troll.

As the servant walks into the room, Olaf is the first one to notice her. "Hi!" chirps Olaf as he waves to the servant. "You made it pass those guys standing outside the dungeon! I didn't think you were that quick on your feet."

"I was quicker with the tongue than quick with the feet," replies the servant with a smile. "I was able to talk my way in." Then the servant walks over to a small table with a stone top, and she places the covered tray down. While doing this, she says, "After last night's fiery incident, I thought that it would be wise if I brought breakfast down to everyone."

As the servant uncovers the tray, the young troll quickly comes over to look at the food. "That's great!" exclaims the young troll. "I hope you brought enough for everyone," says the young troll as he takes some of the food.

"If there isn't enough, I can always fetch another tray of food," replies the servant. "So how is Kristian doing?"

"He is doing well enough, considering what had happened last night," replies the young troll.

"Ya, Tollak decided to make an appearance, and he really made things heat up quite a bit," adds Olaf. "Luckily things are back to the way they were."

"At least that is some good news," replies the servant.

"I'm afraid that things are not as well as the young ones have made it out to be," says Grand Pabbie as he stops his work with Kristian. "Kristian's condition has progressed to a very difficult state. From now on, the demon's curse that resides inside Kristian, will not allow his flame to be extinguished. The continuation of the flames will only hasten his decline."

"What about the fires?" asks the servant. "Are we going to see more events like we did last night?"

"Yes, fires like what happened last night will definitely occur again," replies Grand Pabbie.

"That is why I have decided that it is time for me to leave the palace and the village," interjects Kristian as he sits up on the edge of his bed. Small flames are still coming off of his body. "The risk that I have become is now too great for me to remain here."

"Oh, I wish that you could leave; but the Captain of the Palace Guard has ordered that you are to be held in the dungeon," replies the servant.

"What? Why? What for would he want to keep me here?" asks a puzzled Kristian. "I thought that he wanted to get rid of me, and now I am willing to go on my own accord."

"The Captain does want you to go, but he wants you to go on a permanent base," replies the servant. "Right now, he is arguing his case in front of the royal council to do away with you. Last I knew the council was evenly split about what to do. For the Captain has great influence over several members of the council. However, the Chancellor is arguing on your behalf.

"You mean they are actually talking about killing me?" asks a surprised Kristian.

"It shames me to say this; but yes, they are," replies the servant.

"Why would they be doing that?" asks Olaf. "Kristian is the best guy around! It was only earlier this year that he and Elsa saved Arendelle from Goran."

"Humans can be a fearful bunch," interjects Grand Pabbie. "Their fears often cause them to act irrationally."

"So, how do we stop them from being afraid?" asks Olaf. "Throw a party with Kristian being the guest of honor?"

"No, we can't convince them not to be afraid; and frankly, I don't blame them for being afraid," replies Kristian with some fatigue. "The only thing that can be done is for me to make a run for it."

"Kristian, you are just barely able to walk. It would be impossible for you to run very far," objects Grand Pabbie. "You would be lucky to be able to walk out of village on your own."

"I am aware of my condition, but I can't stay here," responds Kristian. "For my own safety and for the safety of the people here in Arendelle, I must try and leave."

"If I may, maybe I will be able to help," says the servant. "If you can't walk out of the village, perhaps you could sail. All you would need to do is get to the water's edge, and you could sail away from the palace."

"If I can control my fire long enough for the ride, a boat would be perfect," replies Kristian. "But how are we going to get a boat?"

"Leave that to me," says the servant. "Most of the people love the queen and respect her decisions. Many of them will be willing to help you because of her. Besides, even you have become a fond fixture in the village to some of the people."

"If you can arrange the boat, I would be grateful," replies Kristian.

"I shall see too it right away. Now if you will excuse me, I have a lot of preparations to get done in a very short amount of time," says the servant as she makes a slight curtsy before leaving.
