I thought it would be fun to post something quick and rough. Turns out, I don't want my work to read so rough! So I fixed it up. And now I'm doing the rude thing and posting a fakey chapter to bump this to the top of the queue for a little while. So sue me.
But really, I'd love to know what you think! I'd like to use Iggy's POV for a few things in the future, and not being blind myself, it's hard to know what I'm doing well or what I need to work on. What about you, readers o' mine? Have you tried writing from Iggy's perspective? What was the easiest part? What was the most challenging? What was the most fun?
Or, if you haven't written from Iggy's POV, is it something you like to read? What's fun about it? What's hard for you?
And, since I'm trying to improve how I write from Iggy's perspective, what's something that I did well? What's something that I could have done better? Were parts of this confusing, or was it pretty clear what was going on?
I told my spectacular beta-reader, KLoves2Read, that I was interested in writing some Iggy POV stuff. She pointed me to TommyEdisonXP's channel on YouTube, and you guys, it is a beautiful resource if you want to try to get into Iggy's head. He gives this whole series of videos on what it's like to be blind, what his least favorite sounds are, what his favorite smells are, all of these little insights into what it's like to experience the world every way but by sight. It's a fantastic resource.
