Back in the countryside near the village of Arendelle, Kristian is being taken care of by Grand Pabbie and his friendly tribe of trolls. The trolls have been using their magic to help control the magical energies that are now surging through Kristian's body. It is a losing fight, but the trolls are doing their best to slow the progression of Kristian's transformation.

As of now, Kristian has to deal with one arm and one leg nearly completely turned to stone. Plus, other areas of his body have turned to stone as well. Any movement has now become difficult for Kristian. Still Kristian battles to try and maintain control of his worsening condition.

Along with the trolls help, there is another person that has been assisting Kristian. His name is Olaf. This friendly snowman has been helping by bringing cart loads of ice to the place that Kristian is staying. As of right now, Olaf is bringing another cart load of ice through the woods to the home of the trolls.

Soon enough Olaf comes rolling up into the clearing where the trolls have been attending to Kristian. Once Olaf has stopped the cart he calls out. "Hi, Grand Pabbie! I've brought another load of ice for you. So how is Kristian doing?"

"His condition has gotten worse, but Kristian still continues to fight against the effects," replies Grand Pabbie as Olaf climbs down from the cart. "The ice you bring has certainly helped to keep him comfortable."

"I'm just doing the best that I can to help out a friend," says Olaf as he begins to walk towards Kristian. As Olaf nears he speaks up. "Hi, Kristian! I hear that you haven't given up! If you keep it up, I bet you can beat this hot fever of yours. In fact, I think I can feel your fever from here. You always have been a hot one!"

"Danger, fire, get away!" murmurs Kristian in a slurred speech. Kristian's eyes are also only partly open.

"You don't have to worry about me, Kristian!" chirps Olaf. "I've been chilling all the way here. Riding on that ice cart has made me one cool dude. I would even say that I am down right cold."

"Elsa, you can't. It's not worth it. I'm not worth it," murmurs Kristian in a partly hypnotic state.

"Elsa? I'm not Elsa. I'm Olaf! Your friend and lovable snowman!" exclaims Olaf.

"I'm sorry, Olaf; but I should have warned you," interrupts Grand Pabbie. "We have had to place Kristian into a type of trance. He may not even realize that you are here."

"You mean he is sleeping?" asks Olaf. So, Kristian is just talking in his sleep."

"Yes in a way, you could say that Kristian is asleep," replies Grand Pabbie. "However, Kristian's mind is still in control. If Kristian is talking, he is trying to communicate with someone."

"He mentioned Elsa, but Elsa is not here," says a perplexed Olaf. "Is he talking to Elsa in his dream?"

"The mental plain can be a difficult thing to properly understand. With Kristian, his mind is connected to the mental plain in a complex way," says Grand Pabbie. "Tollak has added a new pathway to the plain, and it is difficult to say what that may have done. Perhaps Kristian is actually trying to communicate with Elsa."

"Leave, Elsa, we can find another solution. Don't risk yourself against Tollak," murmurs Kristian.

"Does Kristian know another guy named Tollak? If not, I'd say that Elsa has found the hot tempered fella," says Olaf.

"The queen would have made excellent time on reaching Tollak, if this is true," replies Grand Pabbie. "With some fortune and luck, her majesty may just be able to help Kristian."

For a few moments, Kristian seems to be resting in an agitated state. Suddenly, Kristian sits up right. His eyes are wide open, and he seems to be staring off into the far distance. The fire that was covering Kristian's body flares strongly as well.

"Elsa!" exclaims Kristian loudly.

The next thing that anyone knows is that an energy stream exits Kristian's body. The stream is comprised mainly of two colors, a bright orange and a dark red. As the energy leaves Kristian's body, Kristian semi falls back down onto the stone slab. As he lies there, Kristian begins to ice over. It only takes a few seconds, but Kristian soon is turned into a statue of solid ice.

"Whoa, what just happened? I knew that Kristian was going to become a hard head; but I thought that it was going to be one of rock, not of ice," exclaims Olaf.

"Elsa had placed ice in Kristian's heart before she left," replies Grand Pabbie. "It was done to help Kristian stave off the curse."

So why did it freeze him now?" asks Olaf. "He was just blazing away just a minute ago."

"I have been working with Kristian to control his magic," replies Grand Pabbie. "Part of that included training in projecting his energy. However, I never have seen someone project all their energy like this before. The question is: where did he project it too?"

"To try and help Elsa!" exclaims Olaf. "That is where he would have sent his magic!"

Kristian would need a focal point for his magic to travel to," says Grand Pabbie. "He would need a place where a part of his magic already exists, and Kristian has never been to Tollak's home."

"Well…, what about Mattias?" asks Olaf. "Kristian created his companion, so couldn't he be the destination of Kristian's magic?"

It could be possible," replies Grand Pabbie. "Ever since Kristian and Elsa have paired up, we are experiencing uncharted territory in combining the magic of the heat and of the cold. Mattias could very well be the destination of Kristian's magical energy. However, what worries me right now is the concern that I have on Kristian's returning energy."

Why? Won't it just return Kristian back to normal, or at least as close to normal as some like Kristian can get?" asks Olaf.

"Under normal circumstances, there would be little harm done to Kristian, replies Grand Pabbie. "However, Kristian is currently made of pure ice. His returning magic may end up destroying him, if it returns at all."

While Kristian is in his unfortunate state, something equally tragic has happened to Elsa. Due to Tollak continuing to force Elsa to use her magic, Elsa had eventually turned herself to a statue of ice. Anna and Kristoff are with Elsa, and they both witnessed this transformation.

After seeing this, Anna comes running up to her sister. "Elsa, no!" exclaims Anna as she runs. Anna then places her hands on the ice body of Elsa. Then she says, "Elsa you couldn't have done this. You are the Snow Queen! The cold and snow are your friends! You can recover from this, just like I recovered from my frozen state!"

"There is no way for her to come back from this state," responds Tollak with almost a gloat to Anna's pleas. "She will forever be in this state."

"You're wrong about that!" exclaims Anna as a tear begins to run down her check. "I know that an act of true love can reverse the effects of a frozen heart, and I know that I will be able to reverse these effects on Elsa!"

"You are mistaken about that," replies Tollak with a smile. "It is true that an act of true love can reverse an effect like this if it happens to another individual. However, when a person self-inflicts such a transformation, it will take more than an act of true love to reverse it."

"No, you're wrong!" exclaims Anna. "Elsa can be brought back! If true love won't bring her back, then I will find a way to bring Elsa back to me!"

"She is lost to you," replies Tollak. "However, even if there is an answer out there, I doubt that you will find your answer in the next few minutes."

"What do you mean by that?" asks a concerned Kristoff. "We know how to preserve someone in this state. With proper care, we should have plenty of time to return Elsa back to normal."

"Ice cannot last long next to fire," replies Tollak. "Besides, I want the energy of Elsa's magic; and I am going to claim it by her complete destruction." With this, Tollak's hands flare up.

"What? No!" exclaims Anna as she wraps her arms around the frozen body of Elsa. Meanwhile, Kristoff moves to cover Anna's body with his own. He does this in a futile attempt to protect Anna.

As for Tollak, he unleashes a vast wave of flame towards Elsa. This fire roars as it moves through the air. Before the fire hits, both Anna and Kristoff close their eyes. What happens next surprises everyone. A wall of ice forms and it is able to absorb the impact of the fire with little damage.

As Kristoff looks back at the ice wall, he says, "How did that happen?"

Anna sees this as well, and excitement builds up in her. "It is Elsa!" exclaims Anna. "She isn't gone yet!" Then Anna turns back towards Elsa and says, "Please Elsa, I know that you will be able to come back to me! Just don't give up, and I will never give up!"

"What on earth?!" exclaims Tollak as he eyes the wall of ice. "This can't happen! She froze herself! There is no way that there is any heat left in her heart!" Then with a roar, Tollak makes both his hands flare up greatly. "It still won't matter! Elsa can no longer run from me! Her end will soon come!" exclaims Tollak.

With this Tollak begins to release a barrage of flaming orbs at the ice wall. Tollak maintains the barrage until the ice wall shatters into a pile of melting ice.

While a steam cloud rises from the pile of broken ice, Anna says, "Kristoff, we need to get Elsa out of here!"

"OK, but we won't be able to get too far," replies Kristoff as he goes and grabs the shoulder area of Elsa. Then Kristoff leans Elsa over and begins to drag Elsa towards the exit. Elsa's feet bump roughly over the rocky derbies on the floor.

"Careful with her!" exclaims Anna as she sees Elsa being dragged.

"You know this isn't easy!" replies Kristoff as he continues to drag Elsa.

"Here, let me help," offers Anna as she goes and picks up the feet of Elsa. "Ooff, I didn't realize that ice was this heavy!"

"Welcome to my world!" replies Kristoff. "You just try moving this much ice and more every single day!"

Anna and Kristoff carry Elsa as fast as they can. Unfortunately, it does not take long for the steam to clear. Once the air clears, Tollak quickly spots Anna and Kristoff leaving with Elsa.

"You people continue to find a way to get on my nerves," growls Tollak. "There shall be no way out of my home for you this time."

With this said, Tollak raises a hand into the air. As he does this, flames surround many of the small rocks that lie near the exit. In only a few seconds, these rocks fly into the air and gather in the opening that leads outside. In a moment, the opening is full of flaming rocks. Then the flames on the rocks begin to subside. As the flames subside, the rocks fuse together until they can no longer be distinguished from each other and the wall of the chamber.

As Kristoff and Anna see this, they have to stop and watch out of fear as the only way out is sealed off.

"It was a mistake for the two of you to come back in here," angrily says Tollak. "Now none of you shall ever leave this place alive, unless you are able to fly out the top of this mountain."

With this, Tollak raises a flaming hand up towards Anna and Kristoff. At the same time, the fire around this hand begins to surge. As for Anna and Kristoff, with no place to hide, they simply brace themselves for the inevitable attack. However, before Tollak is able to unleash his attack, a flaming object comes streaking from the mouth of the volcano and strikes Tollak hard.

It was Mattias. Once Mattias had sealed the mouth of the volcano with a dome of fire, he flew down into the mountain. Mattias had spent his extra flame to seal the volcano so now he was only his normal size. Still even at this size, Mattias was able to strike Tollak hard enough to cause him to stumble forward.

With Tollak unbalance and with built up energy ready to be released, Tollak unleashes a blast of energy that covers the floor around him in flames. "Argh! Who dares!" exclaims Tollak as he regains his balance.

As Tollak straightens up, Anna and Kristoff open their eyes to look as well. It doesn't take long before their eyes fall upon the firebird. "It's Mattias!" exclaims Anna with hope.

"Man, I just love that bird!" adds Kristoff.

"Where did you come from?" asks Tollak hotly to himself. "In this place, I am the Lord of Fire! I shall take no disrespect from any creature, especially one comprised of fire!"

In response to Mattias's presence, Tollak shoots a fireball at the firebird. However, Mattias is swift and no bigger that a regular hawk. So the fire bird easily avoids the fireball. Now Tollak is very displeased with this outcome. So with a growl, Tollak begins to unleash several fireballs. Again Mattias is able to avoid being hit.

With the continued difficultly at being able to hit Mattias, Tollak increases the number of objects that he projects towards the firebird. Eventually, Tollak goes to shoot multiple barrages of flaming orbs at Mattias. To avoid these attacks, Mattias begins to dive into some of the many large fires that burn around in this chamber. Being made of fire, no harm comes to Mattias; and the fires obscure his location from Tollak.

The fire on the high ledge comes in handy many times. This is because this fire nearly circles the entire chamber. This allows Mattias to fly for a long time out of sight before he would reemerge. While in the fires, Mattias would absorb some of the flames. Then when Mattias would emerge, the firebird would unleash its own flaming attack against Tollak.

These fire attacks are small and are nothing but an annoyance to Tollak. Still these fire attacks would temporarily blind Tollak with its bright light. In this way Mattias was able to keep Tollak busy, and Tollak's attention off of Anna and Kristoff.

While Tollak is preoccupied with Mattias, Anna says, "What do we do now? Mattias can't keep Tollak busy forever."

"Well, let's set Elsa down first," replies Kristoff. So after Elsa is once again standing upright, Kristoff quickly walks over and examines a section of wall. "We know that there is a tunnel that leads out of here, and that Tollak has sealed it up," says Kristoff. "If we are lucky, the seal won't be that thick and we can break through." After running his hands over a section of wall, Kristoff then says, "Here, the wall feels warmer than other areas. The tunnel must be here!"

So Kristoff steps back from the wall, and he pulls out his ice axe. Then Kristoff begins to take several swings at the area of wall. He is able to break off small chunks of rock off the wall but he does not make a lot of progress. "Dam, Tollak's magic seems to make this into solid rock," comments Kristoff. "What we need is to find some way of cooling off this area. That would weaken Tollak's magic."

"Elsa would be able to do it!" exclaims Anna. "Her powers can counter Tollak's magic!"

"Granted, but Elsa is not really in a position to help us right now," replies Kristoff.

"She was able to block Tollak's attack. Maybe she can do something about this as well," responds Anna. Then turning to the frozen form of Elsa, Anna asks, "Elsa, have you been listening? Is there anything that you can do to help us get out of here?"

After Anna finishes speaking, a blue aura begins to glow around Elsa. Anna steps back and watches Elsa. Kristoff too stands back and watches. After a few seconds, the aura begins to fade; but it looks as if nothing had happened. "I don't think Elsa is able to do anything for us," says Kristoff. "The wall doesn't seem to be affected."

"Elsa would have done something," replies Anna. "But her magic didn't seem to go beyond us. So, what was it that Elsa was trying to do?" So Anna and Kristoff quickly scan the local area. Then Anna's eye fall upon Kristoff. "Kristoff, it is your axe!" exclaims Anna. "Elsa has managed to energize it!"

In response, Kristoff lifts his ice axe up so that he can look at it. What he finds is the head of the axe is surrounded by a blue glowing aura. "Elsa has enchanted it!" exclaims Kristoff. Then turning back towards the wall, Kristoff says, "Let's see if can do anything useful."

With, this said, Kristoff once again walks up to the wall and swings his ice axe at it. With the first blow, flames leap from the strike area, and fracture lines appear on the wall. Some of the stones even fall out of the wall. So with each additional blow, more flames fly away and more stones leave the sealed tunnel.

Now Kristoff was making quick progress in clearing the seal away. Unfortunately, the seal was not thin. Tollak had made the stone seal very thick, and Kristoff did not know how far he had to go to break through the seal.

As for Tollak and Mattias, their confrontation was getting serious. Tollak was merely being annoyed by the firebird, and he was getting furious with the bird. However, Mattias was in serious jeopardy. Only Mattias's skills in flying and his quick evasive techniques are keeping Tollak from landing a fatal blow. A few near misses do send the firebird tumbling in the air, but Mattias is able to regain his flight and maneuver out of harm's way.

Unfortunately, Mattias stalling tactics eventually come to an end. One of Tollak's many orbs finally strikes Mattias. This orb rips through the wing feathers of Mattias. So without his feathers, Mattias is unable to stay in the air; and he tumbles to the floor of the chamber.

"It's time to say goodbye bird," says Tollak as he watches Mattias struggle to get to his feet with his crippled wing.

As Tollak is about to extinguish Mattias's flame for good, Anna reacts. "No!" exclaims Anna as she picks up a stone and hurls it at Tollak. Tollak cries out in pain as the stone hits him in the back.

"Who dares to strike me?!" exclaims Tollak as he turns to see what is going on. As he does, a second stone flies at him and strikes Tollak on the front of the shoulder. Again Tollak cries out in pain and anger as he has to take a step back from the impact.

However, Tollak can now see Anna toss another stone in his direction. So Tollak is able to react to this by catching this stone in a flaming hand. Then with this stone in his hand, Tollak causes this hand to flare up. With his hand clenched, the stone begins to liquefy. Then the molten slag from the rock falls through his fingers onto the floor.

"You actually dare to challenge me," growls Tollak. "You have nothing that can go up against me! The only hope that you have was Elsa, and she is not in a position to do much of anything now!"

It was during this time that Tollak sees Kristoff hacking away with success against the seal he place over the tunnel. So with a roar his hands flare up as he prepares to unleash a strike against Kristoff.

Anna sees this and cries out, "Kristoff, look out!"

Kristoff turns to look and sees Tollak glaring at him. ""Oh, man!" exclaims Kristoff as he quickly moves and dives out of the way of Tollak's strike. Tollak's strike was so strong that it even blows a small hole completely through the seal that he place over the tunnel.

After Tollak's strike, Anna quickly runs over to Kristoff's side. "Kristoff, are you all right?" exclaims a worried Anna.

"I'm fine," replies Kristoff as he pushes himself up off the floor. "I'm a little bruised, but I will survive."

Then as Anna helps Kristoff up off the floor, Tollak says, "Ever since I reinforced the curse on Kristian, I've been getting nothing but aggravation! First Kristian refuses to cooperate! Then a couple of blasted trolls and an idiotic snowman damage my link with that ice loving fool! Finally, I have to put up with the fool witch that he is in love with and her interfering friends! I'm tiring of all of it! So I am going to end some of it right now!"

With this, Tollak raises a hand into the air and launches a fireball straight at Anna and Kristoff. While Anna screams, Kristoff steps forward and lifts his ice axe into the air. It was still enchanted by Elsa's magic. Then with a swing at the fireball, Kristoff is able to extinguish the fireball in a cloud of smoke.

"What?!" exclaims Tollak. "Elsa has interfered, somehow!"

"Of course she has!" exclaims Kristoff. "Do you think that she would just abandon us if there was something that she can do?"

"You are absolutely right," growls Tollak. "You are not the source of my aggravation, the ice witch is. You, Kristian, and that flying rat are merely distractions to keep my attention of my true target. That will no longer be the case!"

With this said, Tollak quickly generates a wall of flame around Kristoff and Anna. This wall totally encircles the pair, and it separates them from Elsa. Kristoff responds by trying to attack the fire with his ice axe. The axe would, for a very brief time, put the fire out in one spot; but the fire would quickly close the gap up before Kristoff and Anna could do anything.

"It is finally time that I for once and for all deal with what I wanted to do all along," states Tollak. Now there is nothing that can truly stop me from completing this witch's destruction."

As Tollak now focuses his attention onto the frozen body of Elsa, Anna says to Kristoff, "We have to do something! Elsa is in danger!"

"I'm trying, but the flames are forming too quickly for me to make any progress against them!" responds Kristoff as he continues to try and fight the flames in the firewall.

With Kristoff and Anna trapped inside the ring of fire, Tollak addresses Elsa. "Well, is there anything you have left to defend yourself with, witch? This time even an ice wall will not be able to save you."

Now Tollak begins to raise his hands. However, before he can proceed any further, a streak of energy enters through the volcano's opening. It is the split color energy that had left Kristian's body.

"What is this?" exclaims Tollak as he sees this energy fly pass him.

The next thing that Tollak sees is the energy making a quick path straight for Elsa. When it reaches Elsa, the lighter orange color of the energy stream enters into Elsa's chest. Meanwhile, the darker red energy peels off. As it does, the energy sparks and flares as if forms a ball of energy right in front of Elsa.

Tollak watches this with surprise. Even Kristoff and Anna are taken aback by this event. As everyone watches on, Elsa begins to develop a blue aura around her. Then from this aura a blue sphere of energy forms and it floats away. Then another sphere forms. Soon many spheres form quickly, one after another, and float away. When the last sphere floats away, the blue aura around Elsa fades away.

Once the aura has disappeared, a flame develops on Elsa's chest over her heart. This flame then moves quickly and spreads all over Elsa's body. As it does, the ice that had taken over Elsa begins to melt. Soon the color returns to Elsa and she begins to move her body. Elsa reverts to her original colors of white hair and soft pink skin.

As Elsa begins to move her arms, she carefully places her hands around the red ball of energy and maneuvers it until it rests floating just over one of her upright palms. This ball dislikes Elsa's close proximity to it and it sparks and flares accordingly.

"Elsa, your back!" exclaims a delighted Anna as she is still trapped in the ring of fire.

With her free hand, Elsa projects a layer of snow over the fire that traps Kristoff and Anna. This extinguishes the flames. Then Elsa says, "Yes, and it is thanks to both of you and Mattias; but most of all, it is thanks to Kristian."
