Sorry if this seems short, but it took me a long time to figure out how this next chapter should go. Please enjoy though. I will start posting my other story later today. I haven't come up with a good name for it yet, but it will show up on my profile so you'll be able to find it there. Maybe you guys could give me some name suggestions. It is the one that is a spin off of Annabeth's dream in my second story. Thanks for reading!
You know I wish I could post stories that are mine on this sight, because I have so many I can not count them off of the top of my head. I am constantly writing or thinking about stories I could write.
Disclaimer I do not own Percy Jackson all rights belong to Rick Riordan.
Seeing Annabeth brought a whole horde of emotions up in him that Percy didn't have any time to even process. Just knowing she was alive thawed out the ice that had been in his chest. He was determined that he'd stay fighting at her side no matter what. Percy stopped another arrow in its path towards Annabeth's shoulder and glared at it's sender.
These guys would pay if his Wise girl got so much as a bruise. With a cry of fury Percy charged and sliced the monster in half with one swing. He made sure that Annabeth never left his sight. She was circling with a Hellhound trying to find an opening. Gaea had created craters in the ground on the island and monsters kept marching out like a constant flow of blood from a festering wound.
The Empousa that had bitten him in Tartarus must have spread the word about how his blood tasted because many attacked him. They lick their lips hungrily as they surrounded him. Percy tightened his grip on Riptide and eyed them all warily. Their fangs gleamed and saliva dripped down. He could hear them hissing and growling, getting ready to charge at him.
One brave Empousa was ready to attack and she charged forward. Just as he was about to slice her in half a familiar voice shouted, "Stop!"
The Empousa went still. Percy scowled darkly remembering who the owner of the voice was. Kelli came through the crowd of her fellow monsters in her human form. The son of Poseidon thought back to when he had first meet the Empousa. If it hadn't been for his friend Rachel he probably would have been killed. Kelli looked at him with her brown eyes and the innocent face of a normal human girl.
But she was far from normal and human.
Percy could still hear Annabeth fighting the Hellhound. He wanted to get back to her, but he couldn't take his eyes off of the blood suckers in front of him. Kelli smiled brightly with her snow white teeth. She swayed her hips heavily as she strutted towards him. He pointed Riptide at her.
"That's far enough." He told her.
She made a clicking sound at him, "Now, now Percy. I just want a little taste. After all you let Calypso kiss you."
"Shut up!" Percy shouted.
There was another painful tug in his stomach and the ground gave a tremor. Everyone on the battle field gasped in surprise as they stumbled to stay upright. Kelli smiled at him, he knew she wanted to make him lose control of his powers like this. Percy released a huff of air and the Earthquake stopped
"Struck a nerve." She taunted. "Honestly, you are so sensitive."
Just behind him Percy heard a dying cry of the Hellhound. He felt pride in knowing that Annabeth was easily able to defeat the beast. Kelli still advanced closer to him in her human form. But the dark skinned girl erupted in flames and when they died down a pale faced girl with flaming red hair was in her place. Percy grit his teeth, she wasn't seriously thinking she could easily get to him like that.
"Come one Percy." Kelli crooned. "You can trust that I have no intentions of hurting you."
She was trying to use her charm speak. Percy could feel his vision becoming clouded. He was still weak from Cupid's stupid spell. The demigod clutched his head trying to fight the oncoming headache. Through parted fingers he watched as Kelli's form flickered between a girl and a monster. The son of Poseidon held his sword up defiantly.
"Stay back."
Kelli smiled brightly and pushed the tip of the sword down with ease. Percy's muscles were becoming weak, "Now, there is no need for that."
Percy flinched as she began running her fingers through his hair. He tried to take a step back, but Kelli kept her hands cupped around the back of his head. She leaned forward and took in a deep breath through her nose. His skin crawled and he tried to push her back. Whatever the after effects of the spell were, they were taking their toll. Or could it have been all of the energy he burned using his powers?
"I said, STAY BACK!" Percy hissed and slammed the hilt of Riptide into the Empousa's stomach.
Kelli released him with a grunt of surprise, but her pleased smile was still the half-pleasant half-horrific grin. Her fangs became more clear than the fake image of a normal girl's teeth. Percy again raised his sword to keep her at bay. His energy was still fleeing him fast. He cursed his bad luck, still wondering what was making him so weak.
Suddenly Kelli disappeared from sight. Percy looked around frantically hoping she wasn't targeting another one of his friends for an attack. He was about to return his attention to the beach, but an arm snaked around his own and a hand yanked his head back by his hair. The demigod flinched as Riptide clamored to the ground.
"Finally." Kelli breathed. "I finally get to taste your blood. You're mine."
Percy tried to rip himself from her grasp, but she had him at a complete disadvantage. He could feel her hair brushing his cheek as she brought her mouth closer and closer to the crook of his neck. She let it hover for a moment as if savoring her catch.
"I'm going to take my time with you Jackson." She whispered to him.
Then it happened Kelli wasted no time sinking her teeth into his flesh. He could feel all of the blood in his body being redirected. Percy had to think fast before she drained him dry. The idea came quickly. The teen didn't hesitate to throw his head back and smash it directly into her face. Kelli yelped and let him go.
"Bite off more than you can chew." Percy taunted.
The Empousa had blood, his blood, dripping down her chin and onto her cheerleading uniform. Her nose was also bleeding from what he could tell. Kelli glared and began her attack again. She stopped coming at him almost as soon as she had started. Her body went ridged before she crumbled into sulfuric dust. The attack had been so quick he hadn't seen it.
He looked around. Who had saved him? Gaea suddenly formed next to him. Percy back peddled with a start and recollected his sword. She simply laughed at him as she came forward to touch his cheek. He quickly moved his head away from her reach.
"I did not bring her and the others from the pits to simply have them eat you." Gaea told him. "You're far to valuable for that my little pawn. I believe we must be leaving now."
Percy slapped her hand away. "I'm not going anywhere with you."
"It is not a choice." Gaea shouted. The Earth under Percy's feet suddenly sent him sprawling onto his back. Gaea loomed over him with a look of contempt on her face. "You belong to me."
"I don't belong to..."
Percy's retort was cut short when something wrapped around his neck. With its choke hold still on him it began carrying him higher and higher above the ground. The son of Poseidon kicked and struggled as his lungs were denied air. His heart raced in his chest as memories of being buried alive in Alaska came back to his mind. Percy was afraid, he had never talked to Annabeth about his fear of suffocation.
"Percy!" He barely heard her shout over the blood roaring in his ears.
Straining his eyes he could see her desperately trying to reach him, but she was dragged away by a Gryphon that had found its way to the island. His fear switched its focus. He was not going to lose Annabeth again. Unfortunately, he couldn't seem to brake the hold of whatever had him. Percy knew he was going to pass out any minute.
Gaea laughed, "It's all over."
Percy shut his eyes and felt his body go limp. Was this really the end? He scolded himself for being so weak. Whatever had been holding him let him drop to the ground. Someone gathered him in his arms, almost protectively. He could hear a battle going on distantly. The person holding him was saying something but her words were all gargled.
All Percy could do was focus on getting air back into his lungs.
Hey again sorry that it took so long to update. Major writers block. And I'm not trying to make Percy seem weak to make him out of character. It's just he is still recovering from the spell.
Oh and I do have my own Jealous Jason fanfiction in mind too.
