Authors note: I had major writers block with this but I figured I should at least try and type it for you guys. So here it is, I'm not happy with it but whatever.

My mind had been busy as usual but it was mostly occupied with thoughts of Haruhi. She looked stunning, gorgeous, any other positive adjective. Truthfully she'd taken my breath away when she entered. Obviously it came as a surprise to the other there, both ladies and gentlemen, when I had been the one to take her hand after she entered. In that moment I wanted to tell them the truth that we in fact were dating. Well more so that it was Haruhi I was with. Instead everyone now believed I was dating Hatsumi, just some other rich heiress.

The night had seemed to be going well. The club was making money, romance was flourishing among the guests, dances were given and food was eaten. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. While the twins teased some quests with words about wanting to dance only with each other, Tamaki danced with everyone who asked, or so he had been last time I looked. Some time ago I had seen Huni sneak away but was too distracted by Haruhi to question it. Huni was relatively harmless anyways when he wasn't angry. If Mori wasn't worried I shouldn't have a reason to be either.

Dancing with Haruhi was better than I imagined. She had little coordination and had only known the male role. However she followed my lead fairly well and didn't step on my feet much. It was heart stopping to feel her close to me, hands on my shoulders while mine rested on her waist. It was the perfect moment...or it was until Tamaki got a hold of it.

You see all along I knew my best friend had feelings for this amazing girl. I had given him his shot fair and square; I had even ignored my own feelings for her so he could try. Still his stupidity and his father complex ruined it. He wasn't able to express how he felt till he almost left both of us. I knew there would be some sort of trouble but I didn't expect this

When Haruhi and I had danced, it had been magical. I got to hold her close and sway to the gentle beat. I wasn't on guard at that moment, too captivated by the lovely girl in my arms. It was for that reason alone the blonde got the best of me. I didn't see him approach until it was too late and his fist had already connected with the side of my face. Barely had I managed to push Haruhi away from my side as I fell, my glasses scattering. A sickening crunch caused me to wince as I heard what I assumed to be feet crush them.

"How could you? You knew I love her yet still you went ahead and defiled my precious love!" his voice screeched, drawing the attention of the entire room. How could he think I defiled her? She was not that type of girl nor was I that guy, in reality he had insulted Haruhi as well though I doubt he was aware.

As Haruhi, looking somewhat teary eyes from the insult helped me to stand I became angry. How dare he insult both me and my girlfriend? Not only that but he was creating a scene at a profitable host club event and wrecking anything that might have been going to happen. Despite not planning to defile her as he thought, I had hoped to steal a kiss on the balcony outside. (Get the reference? *wink*)

With my dates help I stood and faced him, anger evident in the now unblocked expanse of grey that is my eyes. "How you ask? Because I was braver! I gave you an entire year with my help but still you failed to tell her how you felt. Everyone who knows Hatsumi would know how amazing she is, many have fallen for her. I gave you an entire year to dig into your pathetic excuse for a brain and ask her out. You were the one who couldn't ask out a girl who didn't fall at your feet"

Tamaki stood and blubbered for a moment, speechless for once. His eyes remained locked on my face for a minute before falling to the girl at my side. Her face was a mix of anger and sadness from what my blurry vision could see. It seemed to finally click in his head what he was doing. He was embarrassing her; it was him causing her to be upset. Not only had he punched his best friend, aka me, he embarrassed the girl he 'loved'.

"I am not sorry for my words or my actions but I will not stand here and watch this train wreck" was all he said in a solemn voice before running from the room. Tamaki always was one for the dramatics. Hikaru ran after him, followed a moment later by Kaoru. Mori and Huni began to usher the girls and boys away, saying something about a further explanation coming later in the week. Great, now I had to come up with some sort of excuse about it being a sneak peak at either a play or short film we were going to do. Although it might be profitable, it wasn't exactly ideal.

"Come on Kyoya, let's just go" Haruhis soft voice greeted me. I knew that tone, it meant she had a lot on her mind. Hopefully it wasn't anything blaming herself for this mess. No, it wasn't her fault she was so loveable. Tamaki and I needed to work this out, before my family found out about this situation. I could only let Haruhi lead me from the room since I couldn't see. It was when I felt the cold air signaling outside before I pulled her back. Without a thought I kissed her, arms around her waist, uncaring that people could see us. It was a passionate kiss, full of emotion. Her hands came to my shoulders for a moment as we kissed. Nobody could predict the resident king, not when he was like this so I needed her to know how I felt.
