Chapter 18
April 28th, 1984.
Saturday.
"I knew I shouldn't have listened to you..." Allen deadpanned. His eyes wide as saucers as he took-in the entire scene before him.
People were every where, but the great thing about it was the fact that most of them chose to roller-skate instead of walk around, trying to pick fights with each other.
They were still drinking yeah, and the floor was a mess—because they chose to skate whilst they held drinks in their hands—but when someone fell on the dance floor, some random person would come and help pick them back up, and they would soon laugh about it later among themselves, so no one was fighting.
Yet.
And the music blasting through the entire place made it seem as though it was merely an innocent get-together.
Besides the fact that there were a lot of people that Allen didn't even know, but the strong scent of beer clinging to many of the adolescent's clothes and hair, made it obvious to the fact that they were all drinking inside, and that this wasn't some innocent get-together among friends.
Allen sat beside the fiery red-haired drummer—who was already on his third beer—as they both shared a bench behind the waist-high-wall in front of them.
They were currently watching many of the drunk teenagers stumble every which way on the dance floor in front of them.
"I shouldn't have ever took your word." Allen said again, anger just barely lacing through his tone, but what was mostly heard, was incredulity.
Who knew that they could throw a party this big?
Allen had to admit, this party was starting to look fun. Besides the fact that he had to clean this whole mess up afterwards.
Lavi smirked nervously and scratched underneath his green bandana timidly. "Heh heh...Sorry Brit, I didn't think Daisya would tell others..." He mumbled.
Allen quirked an eyebrow. "Daisya?" He asked curiously as he tilted his head to the side. What an odd sounding name, but her name sounds very unique. Allen thought with a small smile.
But soon he frowned. If 'Daisya' is even a girls name... He thought in confusion.
Lavi heaved a heavy sounding sigh as he slapped a hand to his knee and chugged back the rest of his emptying beer. "Daisya is the person I called when we first got here." He explained, tone empty, but laced with a little hint of regret as he wiped his chin.
Lavi smiled happily and pointed off towards the D.J Booth. "He's also Kanda's adopted brother." Lavi said with a coy smile.
"Wait wait!" Allen exclaimed, holding up his gloved hand towards Lavi incredulously. "Hold the phone! Kanda has a brother?" he repeated, voice full of surprise.
Lavi nodded. "Yep, Kanda lived with Daisya and their other adopted brother, Noise Marie." Lavi explained with a small smile. "When Kanda finally turned 18, he bolted out of the house like he was on fire." He shook his head. "But don't let all of their girly names confuse you though." Lavi teased with a smile. "They are all fully grown men, no matter what their names may say."
Allen smirked and pointed to where he saw Kanda. "So Kanda has a girly name too?"
Lavi nodded and held a hand to the side of his mouth as he whispered in Allen's ear secretively. "Don't tell Yuu I told you, but 'Yuu' in Japanese, means 'tender' or 'kind'." He whispered into Allen's ear.
And Allen had to slap a hand over his mouth to stifle his boisterous laughter, which managed to slip pass through his fingers as he all but guffawed loudly into the already loud roller-skating building.
"Really?!" He nearly shouted for all to hear as he continued laughing loudly into his hands.
Lavi chuckled more quietly—than his shorter white-haired latter—as he nodded his head in agreement. "Yep, I'm telling ya the truth bud." He announced with a smile. "But don't tell him, don't even hint to him that you know what his name means." Lavi practically begged. "He's still pissed about the fact that I know, and he just got used to me calling his name just this year, after...5 or 7 seven years of being friends with him." He announced grimly as he placed both his hands together in a pleading manner. "So please don't tell him I told you, Al! You can laugh in his face all you want, but just don't tell him you know Brit-boy...!" He pleaded in a harsh whisper.
"Okay, okay! Take a breather Lav." Allen calmed, slapping a hand onto Lavi's shoulder. "I won't even do anything if that makes you feel any better. Even though that's a hard thing for me not to tease him," He said, momentarily chuckling. "But I won't tease at all." Allen stated firmly with a nod of his head and a small smile.
Lavi whooped loudly and hugged the teen tightly. "Thanks Brit!" Then he dropped the teen quickly. "So!" Lavi exclaimed loudly, gesturing around the dance floor. "Wanna dance?" He asked mischievously. "Wanna do the hustle on roller-skates?" Lavi grinned as he started dancing inside his seat.
What Lavi mostly wanted, was for the intense and serious atmosphere between them, to diminish, before he did something completely stupid in front of everybody.
Allen quickly shook his head and held up his hands. "No, no, no! No bloody way in hell am I strapping on those death skates!" He refused adamently.
"Aw! C'mon Al!" Lavi begged, "I'll hold your hand the entire time!" He announced with a smile. "And I promise not to walk fast or anything!"
Allen shook his head again, this time faster. "It bothers me that you're ready to hold my hand whenever it's needed." He deadpanned.
Giving Lavi a suspicious glance.
"Not rad Brit." Lavi pouted.
But Allen thought about it, and the longer he thought about it, the more it didn't really bother him as much as it should have. So he shrugged, uncaringly and without much hesitation on his part.
Lavi wanted to hold his hand to help him. That's what really didn't matter to him.
"Okay, whatever. I'll try." Allen surrendered. "Only because I never tried this skating...Thing...Before." He gestured awkwardly to the dance floor.
Lavi cheered happily and quickly got up from the bench. "Let's do this!" He hollered in excitement as he bounced over to the roller-skates.
Leaving behind a reluctant looking Allen still sitting on the bench.
Allen sighed heavily, but couldn't help but smile at Lavi's over-enthusiastic behavior. It wasn't needed, but it was a refreshing thing to witness in people. Lavi had enthusiasm for everything, he was ready to do anything as long as it was fun, and that was an easy characteristic to get along with.
Now, if only I could get on someone else's good side... Allen thought in slight displeasure as he turned and looked over to where he saw Kanda was sitting.
Which was inside the D.J booth.
The grumpy guitar player never moved from that spot since the whole party had started, and he refused to move even when Allen tried to convince the long-haired teen that he could watch over the music, while Kanda took a break to enjoy himself.
The guitar player merely shooed him away with a firm order of: "I got it. Go away." In a deadpan and monotone voice.
And to listen to those brusque demands, was a hard thing to do on Allen's part, but he didn't want to get on Kanda's nerves more so than he already was, so he left with a few words muttered quietly under his breath and a glare discreetly thrown over his shoulder.
Allen doesn't even know what he had done, or said, to Kanda to make him hate him so.
And it bothered Allen more then it should have, only because they were now in a band together, and band dynamics are a must when working in the music industry.
But Allen was stumped, what more can he say or do, to make Kanda change his mind about him?
Or at least make the guitar player call him by his first name and none of those ridiculous nicknames he forced upon him.
Allen shook his head, he didn't know what to do. But he was hoping that he and Kanda could have more of a healthy band-relationship together, or at least be a bit more civil towards one another.
Allen remembers the time when Kanda didn't say two negative words about his gnarly looking arm, the Japanese teenager merely helped defend him—to a certain extent—and he even took the time out of his life to give him a pep talk.
And that was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for Allen.
It warmed his bones, but didn't melt his icy-grudge-holding heart.
But Allen was hoping all that would change in little within—or over—a month.
And it starts with Allen having to actually try and have a conversation with him, as much as it annoyed himself—and definitely Kanda—it would be worth it in the end if they manage to become somewhat of friends.
"Alllleen!"
Allen snapped out of his thoughts and sat upright with a snap.
Blinking several times, he finally realizes that Lavi had moved on the opposite side of the bench in front of him, and was impatiently holding out bright red colored roller-skates—with little white stars painted across the sides—in both his hands.
Allen shook his head free from his thoughts as he flashed Lavi a kind smile and grabbed the skates with a generous "Thank you."
"Okay...Easy does it now..."
"Lavi, if you say that one more time, I swear I'm just going to fall right on top of you."
"Is that a threat? Because it sounds like an ace plan to me."
"Just shut up and keep holding me."
"I won't argue with that."
"Lavi!"
"Okay! Mellow out man!" Lavi grinned and continued to pull Allen along by the hand.
Allen nervously looked up to inspect the dance floor, which was further down across from him, a small ramp was situated below him and leading to the dance floor.
A small ramp that he has to roll down on, in order to get to the floor.
"Do I honestly have to go down that ramp?" Allen asked, a hint of displeasure heard in his tone.
Lavi nodded. "Yep! But don't worry. I'll be waiting for you at the bottom. Just push yourself forward, slide down the small ramp, and I'll catch ya!" Lavi announced enthusiastically as he jumped down the small two-feet-high-ramp and waited at the bottom with his arms out-stretched for the teenager.
Allen shook his head and bit his lip in worry as he looked around the dance floor, noticing that some of the teenager's around them were either looking at the both of them suspiciously, or in disgust and contempt.
Either of the three emotions, they were all bad to have directed right at you.
Allen sighed heavily and looked back to Lavi in determination.
Now he was ready, now that all the disgust and hate is directed at him, he was ready to prove to everyone watching, that their hateful stares did not bother, or matter, to him.
He was out to prove that he doesn't give a shit about anything, or anyone, that looked at him funny.
"Alright...I'm ready." Allen said determinedly. But then looked back down at the ramp and grimaced. "So...You'll catch me? Right?" Allen asked the red-head nervously.
The drummer nods sternly with a smile. "Don't worry, I got you." He repeated happily.
Allen pursed his lip, he didn't like the fact that Lavi seemed to be enjoying this more than he himself is enjoying it.
But soon he planted both his gloved hands on either side of the waist-high wall beside him, and ever so slowly he started pushing himself forward.
And down the ramp he went.
With a petrified sounding scream flying out of his lips all the while.
Lavi easily caught the screaming lead singer effortlessly and he spun the white-haired teenager in a happy little circle with a cheer.
The drummer carefully stilled the both of them on the dance floor, laughing unabashed at the confused expression on the white-haired teenager's face.
"I-I wasn't expecting that." Allen stuttered, still feeling slightly dizzy from being spun around by Lavi.
Who merely smiled at him as he took the shorter teenager's hand within his own. "Alright, ease your feet in front of the other, but remember to glide, don't even try to walk." Lavi instructed as he walked the both of them in the middle of the dance floor.
"What happens if I do try and walk normally?"
"Most likely, you'll fall on your face." Lavi answered bluntly, cringing at the thought. "So don't try, I don't wanna see your adorable face beat to shit." He informed, brushing his knuckles across Allen's cheek with a smirk.
Allen slapped the hand away with a huff. "Don't call me adorable." Allen grumbled, shooting a sardonic stare at Lavi.
Who only tilted his head to the side. "Can I call you baby then?" He smiled.
"You always call me baby." Allen stated, wrinkling his nose in offence.
"So it doesn't matter now, does it?" Lavi grinned.
"Just hold my hand and help me skate Lavi!" Allen snapped.
The white-haired teenager was still trying to move forward, but Lavi stood in front of him and prevented him any further movement.
Lavi merely rolled his eye and chuckled lightly under his breath as he continued to hold onto Allen's hand and keep his green eye locked onto Allen's roller-skates.
"You got this babe, just breathe."
"I'm not giving birth..." Allen groaned. "Can you just...Not talk?"
"Me? Not talk? That's like asking Yuu 'Ol boy to smile. It's just physically and psychologically impossible." Lavi ranted. Gesticulating wildly around him.
Inside the D.J booth, Kanda sat and stared sardonically at the teenager's on the dance floor, who were moving their bodies in an attempt to look somewhat sexy.
It just looked like the boy's were having seizures while the girls were breaking their bones.
It looked stupid to be more specific.
Kanda gave a gruff grunt and looked away uninterested as he chugged back his sixth beer.
Now he was starting to feel buzzed. So now that he was finally starting to feel a buzz coming on, it was time for him to sober up, if he ever wanted to drive home again.
And in one piece.
He sighed heavily as he threw his empty red plastic cup in the garbage can beside his booted foot, which were currently resting on top of the table in front of him as he lounged back in the D.J's comfy red chair.
"This party is fucking bunk." He stated to no one as he looked to and fro on the dance floor in disinterest.
Once he caught sight of flaming red-hair, he looks back to the head and laces his hands behind his neck, idly wondering what the hell the idiotic rabbit was doing now.
But once he saw that the red-head was pulling along, by the hand, a sickly looking kid with white-hair, he had to narrow his eyes in an acidic glare.
There was Lavi, holding onto Allen's hand as they wheeled around the dance floor.
He growled lowly in his throat and glared harder on the two band members.
"Whatcha doin'?"
Kanda jumped in his seat and glared at the person next to him. "What are you doing here, Daisya?" He practically growled the question.
Leaning to his side beside the long-haired teenager, Daisya shrugged his shoulder with a lazy smirk. "Came with some people to crash a party." He stated matter-of-factly. "I just made this year's biggest beer bash, if you hadn't noticed." He announced proudly as he looked back to the dance floor.
Kanda rolled his eyes and stared back at the two. Intentionally ignoring the babbling idiot beside him.
Who was already making his ear's bleed by the bull-shit talk that was profusely spouting from Daisya's rapidly moving mouth, in little within two minutes.
Daisya glared at the back of Kanda's head. "Are you even—"
"—No." Kanda deadpanned. Successfully cutting off his adopted sibling. "I never do."
Daisya makes an offended facial expression. "Here I am, excusing myself from this rad party, to stand here and keep your grumpy ass company. And you're not even listening to me."
"I don't need your fucking company." Kanda defended. "I'm here to keep these kid's in line." He stated in an acerbic tone as he points to the dance floor in front of him.
Daisya only rolls his eyes and sits beside the long-haired Japanese teenager. "Who are you looking so intensely at by the way?" He asked in a tone that sounded somewhat skeptical. "Are you planning on decking someone?"
Kanda snorted. "If someone pisses me off, than yeah, I'm decking someone. But so far, you're the only one pissin' me off." He retorted heatedly.
"That's bull-shit and you know it." Daisya said, smiling. "Someone else is pissing you off. You're practically glaring someone's soul out of them right now." Daisya stated, pointing to Kanda's scowling face.
"Plus you love me." Daisya quipped with a smile. "You would never glare at me like that."
Kanda narrowed his eyes at Daisya. "Eat shit and die."
"See! That's the glare I'm talking about! Now, who are you looking at like that?" Daisya exclaimed in excitement, looking to the dancing teenager's. "Want me to back you up bro?"
"I'm not your 'bro'. And no. You'll only sit back and laugh at the person getting their asses kicked by me."
"True. So what's up with the glare?"
"This is how I normally look."
"When you're ready to kick some ass."
"I wanna kick your ass because you're annoying the shit outta me!" Kanda snarled as he sat up with a fast lurch. No longer feeling comfortable in someone else's presence. "Just piss off and go party!"
Daisya got up from the seat next to Kanda's with a defeated sigh. "Whatever. Last time I'm keeping your bunk ass company." He grumbled.
But when someone caught his eye on the dance floor, Daisya had to stop and turn back around with a puzzled look.
"Is that Lavi? Who's hand is he holding onto?" The hooded teenager asked as he moved his head about, trying to get a better view of who it was that Lavi was holding onto.
Kanda growled and closed his eyes angrily. "Some retard's hand." He hissed.
"Oh really?" Daisya purred. "Gotta be a hot chick." Daisya stated with a firm nod of his hooded head. "Lavi always finds the hottest girls, then strikes out." Daisya laughed as he holds a hand up to shield his eyes from the lights, still trying to figure out who the red-head was dancing with.
But then his eyes go round in surprise. "Uhh...He's holding onto some guy..." Daisya stated with a shiver. "Who is that anyways? His boy-toy?" Daisya smirked, looking at the two odd teenager's currently trying to dance to the loud music blasting from the two large speakers sitting outside the D.J booth.
Kanda looked back to the two on the dance floor.
Noticing that they had made a perfect circle in the middle of the dance floor, and all the teenager's surrounding them, either looked at them oddly, or simply grinned at them.
As though they thought the two male teenager's were simply making a joke when they chose to dance with one another.
The guitar player scowled deeply. It wasn't a joke to him, it looked as though Lavi wanted his ass kicked for choosing the white-haired teenager as his dancing partner.
Kanda's dark blue eyes then widen slightly when he notices Lavi had let the lead singer go, so he can start doing the hustle in the middle of the dance floor, with everyone watching.
He snorts loudly. He looks more like a retard now. Kanda thought with a smirk.
"Lavi's got some moves!" Daisya said with a loud laugh. "Whooo! Go Lavi!" He shouted loudly out of the broken glass window in front of him.
Lavi turns in the direction of the hollering, and grinned widely in delight as he gives the hooded teenager two thumbs up.
And continued doing the hustle in front of the white-haired teenager.
Daisya gave a lop-sided grin and started head bobbing to the beat of the music streaming out of the large speakers.
Which was "Dancing Queen" by "Abba".
And Kanda had to scowl at the choice of song. The song was currently playing on one of Allen's very own cassette tapes.
"What shitty music." Kanda muttered.
"They look like their having fun!" Daisya announced with a laugh.
Back in the center of the dance floor, with the teenager's surrounding the dancing duo in the middle of the floor, Lavi danced wildly in front of Allen, while Allen himself tried hard to simply balance in front of the red-headed teen.
Allen started copying the drummer's dance moves—which was hard to do, considering he still didn't get the hang of the roller-skates that are still strapped onto both his feet.
But Allen was slowly starting to get accustomed to dancing while roller-skating.
His movements started out slow, but with the music seeping through his bones and ringing inside his ears, and with the many odd glances he and Lavi were getting from the teenager's surrounding them, he started loosening up.
And greatly at that, by how confident his dance moves were getting.
"Your in the mood for dance...
And when you get the chance..."
He no longer kept his legs stiff while only his upper-body moved and swayed to the music, his legs started pushing himself forward, he was now skating whilst dancing, and no longer needed Lavi to hold him steady.
Allen pushes himself closer to Lavi, just in case he fell and humiliated himself further, and started dicso dancing along with the red-head.
Who was hollering loudly and cheering for him to "jive".
Which he did the second after Lavi's cheering fit.
The music was starting to feel good with his dancing. The beat was getting fun. And Allen had to admit, and without much hesitation, that he was starting to enjoy roller-skating.
"You can dance!
You can Jive!
Having the time of your life!
Ooh-ooh-ooh! See that giiiirl! Watch that scene,
Digging the Dancing Queen!"
Came Abba's lyrics from the speakers.
And out of Allen's mouth.
The lead singer had started to sing along with the lyrics as soon as he started getting the hang of dancing.
"Dancing Queen!" Allen sang loudly.
Lavi planted both his hands onto Allen's arms and then started spinning them around in a happy little circle in the middle of the dance floor.
The song was soon ending.
And Kanda couldn't have been happier. He hated Abba. But he was mostly grateful for the fact that it meant that the two idiots didn't have to dance anymore.
But his hopes of the "two idiots" not dancing anymore, were soon squashed in front of his glaring eyes when Lenalee bounded over to the two teen's on the dance floor, and started dancing along with them to the new song that is now blasting out of the speakers.
Which was the song "If You Think I'm Sexy" By "Rod Stewart".
Lenalee hops to the side of Lavi, and starting rocking and dancing to the addicting and throbbing beat of the catchy song.
Allen starts to head bob, continuing to dance to the song and move his legs to the beat of the music.
And Lavi, was simply doing the "cabbage patch" without much rhythm.
And that's when things started heating up around them.
The teenager's surrounding them were soon cheering and dancing along with them, and no one really cared if they spilled their drinks on either themselves, or on each other, and they didn't care if they accidentally collided into one another, they were all simply having fun, taking no offence in what other's were doing around them.
And nothing else really mattered at that point, as long as they were laughing, and having a good time.
Daisya was soon jumping out of the D.J booth just to dance with all the party people on the dance floor as well.
"If you really need me, just reach out and touch me,
C'mon baby let me know!" Sang Lavi loudly as he planted a hand to his hip, and started dancing without a care in the world if he looked like a fool.
Besides, he was on his 8th beer. Everything to him by then was a fun.
Lenalee surprised the hell out of Allen though when the girl decided to grab hold of his arm, including Lavi's arm, and started spinning all three of them around in the middle of the crowded dance floor.
Allen screamed in fright at being man-handled—again—by Lenalee, and grabbed hold of Lavi's shirt sleeve in desperation for balance.
But besides not being able to balance properly, Allen had to admit he was still having fun.
The was soon ending, and yet, Lenalee still held on tightly to both of her boy's and spun them in a circle.
All three of them, laughing like mad-men and hollering loudly to each other.
"You guys looked like you needed another dancing partner!" Lenalee shouted happily.
Allen grinned. "I never had this much fun before!" He shouted over the loud saxophone melody, currently streaming out merrily from the speakers.
Lavi grinned over to Allen. "Aren't you glad I made you dance with me?"
"Am I ever!" Allen enthused happily.
Lenalee soon cheered loudly. "Whoooooo!" She hollered loudly, her head tilted back.
And all the teenager's around her soon started joining in with her cheering, and soon the whole building was ringing loudly with the whoops and cheers of the many teenager's that are surrounding them, creating a whole mix of intoxicated sounding echoes to ring loudly inside the "Wheel-A-While" roller-skating building.
The song ended. And that's when everyone around them gave their last cheers to the song.
Allen soon sighed heavily in exhaustion and slapped a hand onto Lavi's shoulder. "I need a break Lav." He stated with a tired looking smile.
Lavi nodded hurriedly in agreement. "Hell yeah, my head's feeling wibbly-wobbly." He announced to Lenalee and Allen as he took both their hands and started leading them towards the D.J booth. "Let's go say 'hi' to Yuu 'Ol boy!" He shouted in excitement.
Kanda looked away from the three teenager's with a small scowl. "Now they're gonna bug me..." He grumbled to himself inside the empty D.J lounge.
He just got rid of one idiot. Now he had two more to deal with, Lenalee not being one of the 'idiots' should she ask.
Just as the three came into the D.J booth, Kanda changed the cassette tape in a hurry, deciding that he should change the music to a more mellow sort of rhythm, before the teenager's got even more crazy.
Kanda wanted the party to either leave—because of his choice in music—or at least have the atmosphere settle down around them.
Because the last song that played, got them all crazy and energetic in the first place.
The song he chose that he thought would make a difference was called "Hysteria" by "Def Leppard".
Which didn't seem to do anything, besides get the girls squealing and demanding that their boyfriends slow dance with them to the song.
And now, or else there was hell to pay if their boyfriend's didn't agree. Which was annoying, and greatly at that.
Allen leaned heavily into the D.J booth with a tired sigh. "My feet are aching..." He groaned lightly as he lifted one of his roller-skates with a frown.
Lenalee giggled beside him and planted a hand onto Allen's shoulder in an reassuring manner. "That's the pain that all us girls get, when wearing high-heels or pumps." She states with a smile.
"But I'm not used to this kind of pain." Allen groaned. "Also, it's because I'm not a girl." He quipped to Lenalee with a fast glare.
"Could've fooled me." Kanda grumbled.
Allen quirked an eyebrow. "Says the one with long silky hair." He retorted, grinning like a maniac at the scowling long-haired teenager.
"Snap!" Lavi said loudly with a snap of his fingers.
But soon he kept his mouth shut afterward when he received a hard glare from the angry looking guitar player.
"So what do you think of this party, Kanda?" Lenalee asked, leaning into the booth's glass-less window and turning her back towards the dance floor.
Kanda shrugged. "Tubular." He replied sarcastically.
"Oh c'mon grump!" Lavi shouted, slapping a hand onto Kanda's shoulder with a grin. "It could be worse, right?"
And it couldn't have been said in more of a bad timing.
Because the sirens from police cars chose that exact moment to ring in loud shrill wails from the buildings parking lot.
"COPS!" Shouted one of the random teenager from the middle of the beer stained dance floor.
And that's when all hell broke loose.
Drinks started getting thrown, girls were screaming to their boyfriends, teenager's were running every which was on the floor, Daisya being one of the few that actually had the brains to jump out of one of the broken window's and make a hasty retreat, and the Exorcist's chose that moment to pack up the cassette's, the last of their alcohol, and run like hell towards the in-door parking lot inside the building.
Allen wasn't one of them.
He barely had time to think when he was suddenly being dragged by the hand by Lenalee.
Who started zig-zagging and dodging many of the drunken teenager's bodies—which were swaying too close for call towards them—like a professional.
"What're we gonna do!?" Allen shouted, still trying to regain his balance while still trying to roller-skate to safety.
The damned roller-skates were still wrapped around his feet.
He doesn't even remember, or even know, where Lavi had kept his sneakers, so now he was forced to make a quick getaway in roller-skates.
"Kanda!" Lenalee shouted to the long-haired teenager.
Who was jogging further up ahead of them.
Kanda suddenly stops at the sound of his name being called, and turns towards Lenalee, who was coming up further behind him.
They then start running along in a group of three when the bass player finally managed to catch up with him.
"What?" He snapped loudly, pushing everyone that got in his way, onto the floor at his feet.
"Where are we gonna go!?" Lenalee shouted, the siren's were still wailing somewhere around the building, and teenager's were still scattered everywhere and shouting around them.
Making it barely possible for them to hear one another without having to shout to get their attentions.
"My place!" Kanda shouted back over the shrill wail of a siren coming from one of the police cruisers outside. "No where else to go!" He shouted again.
"Won't we get caught?" Allen yelled, trying hard to keep up with the two at his side.
But with the roller-skates still strapped on his feet, it was hard to do so.
Especially when you got a girl holding onto your hand for dear life, while you try very hard not to slip on the soaked, beer stained floor boards, below your already slippery roller-blades.
"Where's Lavi?" Lenalee shouted in realization. Once she had looked over her shoulder blade, she saw no head of bright red-hair behind her.
And that's when Kanda stopped dead in his tracks and looked furiously around the building.
Kanda knew that once they all heard sirens, everyone went their separate ways.
So now, that would make Lavi lost.
"Fuck!" He swore loudly.
Lenalee stopped a few feet away from the long-haired teenager, causing Allen to stop with a lurch, almost falling in the process of their dead stop.
All three of the band members looked furiously around the building.
They couldn't see a flaming head of brightly colored red-hair amongst the crowd around them anywhere.
Teenager's were scattered every where, some were already passed out on the floor and the benches, some were too busy throwing up in corners to give a shit about the police already being there, and most, were stealing some of the remaining alcohol from each other, or taking what was left of their beer's, and jumping out the windows with their beer's cradled underneath their arms in desperation.
And yet, they still couldn't see Lavi.
"Fuck sakes!" Kanda raged, throwing the duffle-bag full of beer, and cassette tapes, into Allen's arms hurriedly. "I'm gonna fucking find him!" He snapped. "You guys go back to the truck, start it, and honk twice if you see any police coming!" The guitar player shouted, already turning around and striding hurriedly away.
"What about you?" Lenalee shouted, quickly following along behind him.
And pulling a struggling Allen by the hand.
"I said honk twice if you see any police coming, and I'll run back to the truck!" Kanda replied back loudly as he glared every which way inside "Wheel-A-While".
Lenalee shakes her head. "I'm helping! C'mon Allen! Let's find Lavi!"
Allen was then pulled along again, against his will. "I don't have much of a choice, now do I?" He shouted, shouldering his duffle-bag more comfortably.
Just as Lenalee ran by the D.J booth, with Allen trailing not too far behind her, the white-haired teenager saw something stir from inside the benches, then a second later, he saw Lavi poking his head out from behind one of the large bleachers.
"Lavi!" Allen called loudly.
Causing Lenalee to come to a sudden stop again.
Which then caused Allen to bang into her with a winded "Oof!"
"Kanda! Lavi is over here!" Lenalee shouted to the guitar player as she lightly pushed Allen away with her hand.
The white-haired teenager smiled timidly. "It's not my fault...I have no control..." He mumbled sheepishly.
Kanda was already heading her way from across the building in a fast stride. "Where?" he shouted in frustration.
"Over here!" Lavi shouted, jumping up and down in desperation from behind one of the many bleachers. "I found someone! Come help!" He shouted in a panic.
Allen finally found his feet at that moment.
And he started pulling Lenalee by the hand as he practically zoomed through the dance floor and scuttled around the bleachers in a hurried pace.
He felt slightly bad that he dragged Lenalee around with him when she didn't have roller-skates on herself. But the girl was a fast runner, surprisingly, and she manages to keep up with him the entire time.
Once making it to Lavi's side, Allen dropped Lenalee's hand and grasped onto Lavi's shoulder for balance. "What's wrong?" He nearly shouted in Lavi's face.
Lavi smiled sheepishly and thumbed beside him.
Kanda, Allen, and Lenalee both look beside the red-head, but then looked down towards the floor when they saw no one standing beside Lavi, and saw Lavi's Boom-Box, broken and shattered to pieces at Lavi's feet.
"What the fuck?" Kanda shouted, stomping over to Lavi and grabbing a hold of the red-head's shirt collar. "You almost made me shit myself you fuckin' prick! I thought someone died or some shit!" He yelled angrily into Lavi's smiling face.
"Who cares about your stereo now Lavi!" Lenalee snapped in irritation. "We gotta go!" She gestured wildly.
"But, but—" Lavi started. "It's broken!" He nearly wailed.
"No buts Lavi! Just move!" Allen argued, pushing the red-head in the direction of the parking lot. "I'm so glad we found you and I'm sorry about your Ghetto-Blaster but, move it or I'll get Kanda to knock you out!" He threatened heartlessly.
And he actually meant that last part.
"Noo!" Lavi cried, holding his hand out desperately towards his broken Boom-Box as he hung his head in defeat when he was suddenly pulled by the hand by his friend's.
And without another word of objection, he allowed to get hauled away.
Kanda forcibly dragged the red-head away by the sleeve of his shirt, while Lenalee held onto the drummer's other hand, to make sure that the red-head doesn't quickly turn around and attempt escape, and Allen chose to hold onto Lenalee's hand once again—for safety reasons—as they all bolted to the in-door parking lot.
And that was the 18th chapter :) Sorry you guys for the long ass wait! I'm soooo sorry! No excuses, you may curse my ears off if you want. So what do you guys think of these new chapters? Interesting or not really? Do I need to change the pace up a little? Because, sheeya, I can totally do that, may take some more time. But I am willing to do just about anything for those who are still reading this story.
Also, more Kanda POV's can be expected in later chapters, including more...Sentimental shit between the three boys. Allen is still a wee bit confused yes? Maybe he'll finally stop being blind :) So look forward to those things.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Laven is filling these recent chapters! A lot of it. Those two are becoming quite close. Kanda...Is getting jealous...Sorry Kanda...You'll find someone soon. I'm sure of it.
