Ella's POV~

I was worried about Cas. And about me. And about everyone else. I was just worried, but about Cas especially.

Cas had hardly talked since her duel with Aliah. She had hardly eaten. She had spent most of her time sleeping and just laying on the floor staring at the ceiling. I couldn't know what was going on in her head, but I knew that it must be bad. She had spent her whole life fighting, and when the big fight with Aliah had come, she had lost. She must feel terrible.

Of course, its not like the rest of us were exactly chipper. We all knew that the options ahead of us were not good. We either died or we joined Aliah. We wouldn't know if we would even have to chose. We could be killed during our duels, or just lose, and then we wouldn't have to decide. That still didn't sound very good. Even if we won, we would either rot in our cells until our hair grew gray and our faces were wrinkly, or we could join Aliah.

I felt a little sick every time I thought about it.

There was almost nothing to do except think about it.

"How do they do it?" Someone spoke, breaking the silence that had descended over us hours before. I strained my neck and poked my head out of my cell. It had been Jason that had spoken.

"How do they do what?" Annabeth asked.

"How are they going to kill us?" He asked. My hands tightened on the bars of my cell. I sat slumped against the bars in one corner.

"Drown us." Cas whispered. "They drown us. Us lucky children of Poseidon might just get hanged or stabbed to death, though. They put you in a glass box and they lower it into a pool of water. You get tied up. It's only a matter of time until the glass breaks from pressure and you're doomed."

"How do you know that, sis?" Percy asked warily.

"I've seen them do it." Cas turned her head away from us. "It's horrible." I wished she hadn't answered Jason's question. Somehow knowing how I was going to die didn't make it any less scary. Go figure.

"We can't just sit here!" Leo burst out. "We're going to die! I don't want to die! I did it before and it sucked! C'mon, somebody, plan? Annabeth, you always have a plan! C'mon beauty queen, think!" Leo turned to each of us in turn, pleading with us with his eyes. But we didn't know, because this time we might not be able to escape.

"I have a plan." Cas whispered. Her voice was hoarse. She managed to sit up and prop herself against the wall of her cell, her green eyes bering into me. "Join Aliah. All of you. I know that might sound crazy, but-"

"No way!" Percy yelled. "We can't help her after what she did to you! Are you nuts?"

"Wait, Percy…." Annabeth put a hand on his arm, and he calmed down a bit. "Where are you going with this, Cas?"

Cas nodded a thanks to her brothers girlfriend. "If you get close to Aliah, you can take down this whole twisted system from the inside. It might be your only option at this point. We can't escape. If you win your duels, you can rise through the ranks here fast. Your all good fighters, you can totally do it. It's your best bet."

"Your not our?" I asked suspiciously. "Cas, what about you?"

"I already lost." She sighed. "It's too late for me. I'm going to die here." She glared around at her cell's stone walls. "I always thought I had gotten away from this wretched place. But it pulled me back, and now it's going to kill me. I never escaped in the first place."

"Cas, don't talk like that." Piper said. "You're going to escape with us."

"Yeah, this isn't over yet!" I cheered. "We're not giving up on you, Cas. You can't give up either."

"We can still win, and when we do you'll be with us." Percy grinned at his little sister.

"Thanks guys. But its not true." Cas said. Her voice sounded hollow. "It's okay. I got to go on a cool quest with you guys before I died."

"No, Cas, you're not going to die!" I cried. I cursed myself and the tears that escaped down my cheeks. "You're going to get home with us and everything is going to be okay. This is not your last day on earth." I took a breath. I spoke the next words without thinking first.

I would later look back on my next words and wonder what would have happened if I hadn't said them. Guess I'll never know.

"Today is not your last day to live. I swear it on the River Styx."

Okay, guys, sorry this one was so short. And only like one important thing happened, but I really wanted to get it out. I'll try to update faster now, adios!
