Chapter 18
Sasuke tapped his fingers against his desk. Iruka sensei was just about done with the final lesson before lunch. After lunch Sasuke had another class, and then gym. It's been a week since the new school year started, and so far Sasuke couldn't complain, but he just couldn't shake off the feeling that his class was all he thought it would turn out to be. All in all, it felt like the morning sessions were far too long for his taste.
Come on...this is stupid, hurry up. He wanted to leave class already; he was in dying need of a cool carton of milk to ease his unsteady nerves.
"Alright class, don't forget to start thinking of what colleges you all would like to start applying to, I'll see you after lunch, enjoy" Iruka sensei gladly let his class off.
"Sasuke!" Karin called him out and wrapped her arm around his tightly. "We're going to have lunch on the rooftop, wanna come?"
"Hn, I-"
"hahaha Temee! Come on we're gonna have lunch together right?!" Naruto's loud voice could be heard from the end of the hall. Naruto ran into the class and greeted the gang together. "Hey guys!"
Naruto waved goodbye before wrapping his arm around Sasuke tightly, "come on Teme!"
"Hn" Sasuke smirked as they walked out the classroom together. Since Naruto wasn't in class again, he decided he would take turns eating with everyone throughout the week. "Hehe guess what?! Kakashi sensei passed out in class, and we spent the whole time doing nothing for a whole hour! Ha, yeah it was great" Naruto laughed as he patted Sasuke's back.
"Iruka has us talking college already" Sasuke groaned as he put some money into the vending machine and clicked on the button for a carton of milk. The two made their way to the lunch table, when Naruto turned towards Sasuke and smiled.
"Hey Teme let's go outside and eat."
"Yeah it's crowded in here; the loud noise is giving me a headache."
They got up and started walking outside, Sasuke relentlessly followed Naruto as he led the way.
Sasuke felt his heart leap just a bit when he started taking notice in his surroundings.
This is the spot where Dobe and Sakura hang out. Sasuke kept his mouth closed as Naruto sat against one of the Sakura trees.
"Ahh." he sighed, feeling relaxed, "isn't this spot amazing?!"
"It's quiet"
"Yeah haha, and this way no one can bother-"
"Naruto?"
"Huh?" The boys turned their heads toward the sound of the voice to see Sakura peeking her head from the side of one of the trees.
"Sakura-chan!"
"What are you doing here? I thought you were eating with-" Sakura turned her head to see Sasuke sitting there with a carton of milk in his hand.
She slightly gasped and took a step back, "oh... Sasuke is here"
"Sakura come have lunch with us!"
"Oh that's okay, I'm fine"
"Oh come on Sakura-chan! It'll be fun, don't worry Teme won't hurt you!"
"No, no I'll just go sit-"
"Just come sit down" Sasuke mumbled as he looked away from her, and took another sip from his milk.
"Sorry for the intrusion..." she half whispered as she sat a little further away from the guys.
"Eh?! Sakura-chan why are you sitting there? Come closer!" Naruto took her hand and dragged her closer to where they settled.
"Haha wow this is awesome!" Naruto put both his arms around Sasuke and Sakura's neck and pulled them in, "I have my two best friends in the whole world eating with me-haha yeah!"
Sakura and Sasuke both groaned a bit as Naruto rub his cheek against theirs.
"Now let's see what I have for lunch today," Naruto licked his lips as he rubbed his hands together. Naruto opened his bento and looked down to see a perfectly made bento.
"Oh..." he sniffed, "it's beautiful" Naruto smiled and began to chow down on his food.
Idiot...half the food's not even going inside his mouth. Sasuke smirked as he glanced over at Naruto who was enjoying his home made lunch box. Sasuke felt his stomach growl just a bit from the smell of the warm rice and chicken strips.
I should grab another carton of milk... Sasuke gulped down the rest of his dairy drink and sighed as Naruto and Sakura talked. She nibbled on her food just a bit as Naruto began to blab on about God knows what.
Sasuke sat quietly against the tree as he watched Naruto make Sakura laugh.
"Oh then my brother was like 'Naruto keep your shit out of my room!' and he tried to throw the ball at me but it bounced back and knocked him right in the face, making him practically slide down the stairs HAHAHAHA!"
"Pbbbbbbbbbbbttttttttt!" Sakura choked on her drink as they both continued to laugh. Sasuke smirked as he watched Sakura laugh. Her pale face heated up from her lack of air. She was laughing so hard no amount of noise came out of her.
"Wah Sakura you're turning red, hahahahaha" Naruto wiped his eyes as Sakura shook her hand in front of him. She clenched onto her stomach and tried to calm herself down.
"Hn, idiots" Sasuke half whispered to himself when he heard her breathe again.
"Hey we're not idiots!" Naruto protested as Sakura sat back and started to breathe heavily.
"Oh my god...my stomach hurts," she took a sip of juice and looked right at Naruto.
"Are you okay Sakura?"
"I'm...pbbt!" she covered her mouth and started laughing again making both Naruto and Sasuke laugh.
Minutes after, the three sighed, as Sakura did her best to finish her lunch, when she looked over at Naruto who was gathering some of the sakura petals and placed them in one pile.
"Wow...I never noticed when I first looked, but there are a lot of petals here." Sakura was in awe as she looked around. She closed her bento as Naruto smiled at her. "Hehe yeah look I've got a whole handful." Naruto showed Sakura the petals and Sakura stared down at them when suddenly Naruto blew them into her face.
"Kyaaa! Hey!"
"Hahahahahaha!" Naruto held his belly as he laughed at angry Sakura.
"That's not funny," she giggled and began to gather the petals at arm's length.
Naruto laughed as he began to do the same as her, and within seconds the two began to throw petals at one another, which was annoying Sasuke since most of it ended up landing in his hair.
"Quit it you two" he growled as he shook off some of petals from his hair. Sasuke picked out a couple that landed on his shoulder when he looked up to see Naruto and Sakura smile as they pointedly looked at each other with arms full of petals.
"What are you...?" Sasuke got up, as he kept his eyes on the two of them.
Naruto and Sakura stepped forward as Sasuke stepped back.
"Hehe what's wrong Teme?"
"One false move and I'll kill you Dobe"
"Haha did you hear that Sakura?" Naruto had an evil smile painted on his face as he stepped closer to his best friend, "He's gonna kill me hehehe, it's just petals Teme don't be afraid."
Sasuke narrowed his eyes at Naruto, and the two locked their eyes and kept their glare in place: black to blue. Little did Sasuke know sneaky little Sakura was creeping from behind him for a surprise attack.
He'll never know what hit him She snickered as she tip toed behind Sasuke, and just as she got ready to throw the petal in his face, Sasuke yanked her by the wrist and pulled her in, making the petals pile on top of her.
"What the...!" Sakura looked up to see Naruto's pile fall right on top of her right after.
"HEY!" she shrieked, "that's not fair!" she brushed off the petals to see Naruto and Sasuke share a very successful high-five as they laughed at confused little Sakura.
"Wha- Naruto what happened to our plan?"
"Sorry Sakura- I can't betray Teme, plus it was his idea"
"Hn, stupid" Sasuke crossed his arms and chuckled as Sakura growled at him.
"Grrrr, Sasuke you're evil!"
Naruto and Sasuke laughed as she got up and brushed off the petals, and looked to see Sasuke stick his tongue out at her.
"Why you!" She ran for Sasuke as he started to run passed their tree.
"Get back here Sasuke!"
"In your dreams, mouse!" Sasuke ran further into the small gather of trees.
"Hey Sakura up here!" she heard a voice come from a place near her.
"Huh?" Sakura looked up to see Naruto and suddenly another pile came raining down on her.
She heard Sasuke laugh as she looked to her side to witness another bash of petals. Pretty soon, petals from the cherry blossom trees were coming at her left, and right.
Sakura hunched down and covered herself, "okay, you win, you win!"
"Haha alright!" The duo high-fived each other once again when suddenly Sakura pounced right at one of the two and managed to knock one over.
"Gotcha!"
Sakura looked down to see Sasuke just underneath her.
"Haha oh shit, she got you Teme!"
Sakura pinned Sasuke by his arms as she growled at Naruto, "Naruto! You're dead meat when I get my hands on you, you traitor!" she threatened him, but Naruto was already making a run for it.
"Haha that's if you catch meeeeeeeeee!" Naruto shouted behind his shoulder.
"Hey Dobe get back here and help me thrash her!" Sasuke called out to the blonde boy.
"You're on your own Teme Seeeeee-yaaaaaaa!" and soon Naruto was gone from their sight.
"Grrrr Naarrrruutoooooo" They both growled before looking back at each other.
"Uh-ah! Oh I'm sorry" Sakura quickly got off Sasuke and sat beside him as he sat up against the tree.
He chuckled as he looked back at the spot Naruto was standing at not too long ago.
Sakura giggled as she picked some of the petals off of her clothes, "Naruto's so silly, haha I'm going to murder him when I get back to class."
"Hn, he's going to come back sooner or later."
"Mmm"
The two sat in silence, as they listened to the soft whistle of the wind, and the subtle sound the leaves make when the breeze passes by.
Sakura sighed, as she grabbed her bento over and pouted, "I couldn't finish my lunch because he made me laugh too much" Sasuke's mouth started to water when the delicious aroma of Sakura's bento hugged his nose.
His stomach growled, from the lack of food, and honestly that run just made him all that more hungry.
Sakura giggled when Sasuke's stomach began to make noises and offered him her lunch. "Do you want the rest Sasuke?"
"Hmph, no" Sasuke looked away from her, only making his stomach growl louder.
"Well it really doesn't sound like it- are you sure?"
"Hmmmmm..." he groaned, he bit down on his lip, he knows he wanted the food, but for some reason he couldn't bring himself to admit it.
"Well if you don't want it then I'll just-"
"Give me it" Sasuke grabbed the bento and chopsticks and almost immediately began to scarf down the food. "Is it good?" she asked him as he slowly nodded his head.
To Sasuke, it was the best bento he's ever eaten his entire life. Everything had the taste of homemade food to it that made every bite that much more delicious. He never understood why Naruto treated bento's as gold, until now. Having homemade food like this was just mesmerizing; it was different than a mother's cooking. Unlike his mother's lunches, this lunch had something different, but it was no different than Sakura's other meals. Whether he'd admit it or not, Sasuke's never hated a meal Sakura cooked. He preferred her cooking over his mothers, or any other woman's, because it always tasted better.
Sakura handed him an extra bottle of water she was carrying and watched him down it all in one take.
She giggled as he sighed in satisfaction.
Damn, that was amazing.
"If you want..." Sakura suddenly said as he looked over at her and watched her fiddle with her fingers, "...I can make bento's for you...that way you won't go the whole day with just some milk in your stomach..."
"Hn." Sasuke grinned at her as she blushed a deep red.
"Sure..." was all he managed to say because he had to bite down on his lip to prevent himself from smiling like a total doofus.
"Mm gum?" she offered him a stick of winter fresh gum, and they sat there chewing on their mouth freshener slowly.
Sasuke glanced over at her from time to time to witness her constantly look up at the trees.
"Wow...it really is beautiful..." she whispered, "I've never seen so many petals, or sakura trees in my life before..."
Sasuke placed the gum in the wrapping once he felt the gum did its job and leaned back against the tree. "This is nothing...I know a place where the petals pile up as if it's their job"
Sakura gasped a she crawled closer to him, "really?! You know a place?" her voice was filled with both, curiosity and glee.
He grins as he looks over at her and nods, "yeah in a park that's a little far from our house, the trees are about 10 times bigger than these, it's insane around this time of year."
"Wow..." she whispered more to herself, she was in complete awe.
"It's probably really beautiful right...?"
"Yeah it's something..."
"Mm...I can't even imagine what it looks like"
Sasuke felt his heart squeeze for a second, as he looked up at her and smirked, "I'll um.." he took in a deep breath and tried his best to keep his cool, "I'll take you there...if you-ahem" he cleared his throat, "if you want.."
Shit-why am I acting like a dork for? Sasuke felt his cheeks flush.
"Really Sasuke, will you take me?" her cheeks were probably as red as his, if not redder, as she gave him a very sweet, but small smile.
"Yeah, we'll go this weekend-"
"Kyaaaaaaaa! Really you mean it!? You really mean it?!" Sakura lunged at Sasuke and wrapped her arms around him tightly.
"Mmm..." Sasuke's eyes widened as he felt his face heat up. Her arms were placed around his neck, as she sat right between his legs. Sasuke felt his heart start to pound, in fast, hard motions as he hesitated to hug her back. One of his arms was placed on the ground to support them both, and the other was having a battle of its own. After a few seconds, Sasuke's arm slowly moved around her. She giggled into his ear, as she kept her head snuggled on his neck. Sasuke felt his whole body warm up from her grasp as he further tightened his grip around her small frame. Sasuke leaned back on the tree, as his other arm went up and laced around the small of her back, pulling her body closer to his.
Sakura parts from him a little, and places her hands on his chest, "you're not doing this to bring my hopes up right? You'll really take me right?"
Sasuke chuckled as he moved a piece of hair away from her cheek and leaned in closer but Sakura quickly looked down, keeping her head glued to his chest.
"I'm not kidding we'll go this weekend, I..." he took in a deep breath, and tilted her chin up, "I promise."
She gasped, and her arms went around him again, "oh thank you, thank you, thank you!" she giggled as they went back to hugging again. After a little while, Sakura parted once more and began to pick out some of the petals that were still tangled in his hair.
"Ahh you still have some stuff in your hair..." she told Sasuke who was too busy staring at her pale pink, soft lips. He watched the sunlight glisten against her little plump lips, making him bite his own.
Damn it...Sasuke looked away as she sat back, "ahh where's the bento?" she turned around and Sasuke grabbed a bunch of petals nearby, and threw it on himself.
Sakura turned back around to see him covered in petals again.
"Pbbbbt, what the-"
Sasuke laid his head down on her lap and closed his eyes, "Take them out."
"Ah but-"
"Do it" he commanded, and covered his eyes with his forearm as Sakura began to pick out the little petals from his hair.
It was completely quiet now, and Sasuke never felt so relaxed in his life before.
The sound of the leaves moving, and Sakura's faint humming was putting him to sleep.
God...why didn't I think of doing this earlier? Sasuke felt a smirk coming on as he felt her nimble little fingers lightly pinch against his hair, neck, and chest.
"There, no more petals..."
Sasuke's eyes shot open and he immediately grabbed her hand, pulling her closer to him.
"Ah-hey...um..."
He was inches away from her now. Sasuke watched her cheeks flare up as he slowly inched his face towards hers.
"I- I have t-to go Sasuke class is about to-"
Sakura looked away as Sasuke gripped on her hand, "you're not done here"
"But..."
Sasuke grabbed another handful of petals and messed it into his hair.
"There now do it again"
"Ah hey! Do it yourself!"
"No way, come on"
"No!" She crossed her arms as Sasuke kept his head placed on her lap.
"Come. On" he growled, causing Sakura to angrily pout.
"Get off me I wanna go to class!"
"Hn wanna go to the park this weekend?" he asked, an evil grin placed on his face. Sakura gasped as she quickly looked back at him.
"Yesssss!"
"Then start plucking" he smiled as he closed his eyes again, Sakura whimpered as she continued to take off the petals. "You're evil Sasuke Uchiha" Sakura grumbled.
Sasuke chuckled as he turned his head over, keeping his eyes closed. He felt her body jolt up following his movement, but she relaxed again.
He never felt so comfortable before, he didn't want to get up, nor did he want to go back to class.
"Sasuke?"
Sasuke groaned as he kept his eyes closed, he felt her little cold fingers brush against his face.
"Hey wake up Sasuke it's time for class"
"I don't care..."
"Sasuke-"
"Shhhhhhh." he moved his hand around her face until he found her lips, he placed his hand over her mouth as he kept his eyes closed and smirked.
"Mmm!" she moved his hand away and huffed, "well if you're not going back to class then I am!"
She moved his head off of her lap and just before she got up Sasuke gripped her hand and pulled her back to him.
"Ah! Hey! Let go!" she whispered but Sasuke continued to pull her closer to him.
"Why?"
"Because I'll get in trouble if I stay here with you"
"Hn..." he bit down on his lip and smirked, "stay."
"Why? So I could sit here whilst you nap with your head on my lap?! Do you have any idea how ticklish your hair is, hm?!"
Sasuke yanked her closer until she landed right on his chest, "hn, then just sit here with me"
"Wha...why?" she kept her head down as Sasuke's hand made its way to her chin, he tilted her chin up but she quickly looked away.
Sasuke chuckled as he wrapped his arms around her again, he wasn't sure why but he didn't want her hands to pry away from his body.
"Sasuke? Are... are you okay?" she asked as he continued to hug her.
"Yeah, why...?"
"I don't know...you're...just...acting...weird"
"Hn... am I now?" Sasuke cooed as Sakura suddenly let go and stared back at him.
Sasuke had a sinister smile on his face as he watched, little Sakura begin to crawl backwards.
"Yes...and..." she began to fumble backwards as Sasuke crawled forward.
Sasuke chuckled as he watched Sakura completely spaz out by a mere pull at her ankle.
She quickly got to her feet and nearly ran off but Sasuke grabbed her hand just in time.
"I'm just messing with you, come on stupid" he mumbled as he dragged her towards the school's building.
"Eh? Where are we going now?"
"To class?" he asked looking at her.
"Oh! Uh...but your hand is- gaaaaah!"
Sasuke yanked her closer as he gripped her hand tightly and the two walked back to the building.
Just as a random person passed by Sasuke and Sakura quickly let go of each other's hands.
"Ah um..."
"This way..."
Sasuke placed his hands in his pocket as they walked up the stairs towards her class.
Sakura turned around before stepping into class and smiled at Sasuke.
"Thanks Sasuke. Lunch was fun!" she smiles softly as she moved another piece of hair out of her face.
Sasuke's cheeks slightly flushed as he pointedly turned his back towards her.
"Tch, whatever."
"Mm, hope we have lunch like that again, bye." she whispered and Sasuke looked back but she already slipped inside the class without giving him a chance to respond.
Sasuke walked back to class with the biggest grin on his face.
"Hey Sas...uke...why are you so happy?" Karin asked as she walked near him. Sasuke felt Karin's hand try to grip his but he quickly moved off.
"Nothing, dobe's just an idiot." he smiled to himself as he went back to his seat, near the window.
Sasuke placed a hand over his mouth as he looked out the window to see a certain pinky run back outside.
He felt his eyebrow arch up as he watched Sakura look around before bending down to place something on the floor.
What is she doing? Just then Sasuke watched Sakura hold what looked like a white fluffy bunny in her arms as she put something near the mouth.
Sasuke chuckled as he watched her pet the bunny slowly.
Wow...just...Wow. He couldn't help but laugh a bit harder when she snuggled against the little bunny.
Did she really run back outside to feed it? Sasuke watched Sakura place the bunny down and slowly shoo it away.
Hmm... I wonder...
Sasuke looked over at Iruka who was busy talking to a student and looked down at his notebook.
Sasuke ripped out of a piece of paper and crumbled it into a ball. Slowly, he made his way to the window and scanned the class. No one was paying attention to him: perfect.
Sasuke kissed the crumbled paper and fiercely threw it at Sakura who screamed to the top of her lungs.
"KYAAAAA WHAT THE FUCK!?"
Sasuke ducked down quickly then peaked over to see she didn't realize it came from the top window and leaned against the windowsill as he ripped out another piece of paper and threw it at her again, making her scream once more until she looked up at him.
"Ah! HEY! Why are you-?!"
Sasuke threw another piece of paper at her, "Hey Sasuke! Stop!"
Sasuke stuck his tongue out at her and chuckled as she stuck her tongue back out at him.
"Alright class, please take out your math books and..."
Shit.
Sasuke looked back down to see a very red, angry Sakura glaring back at him.
"Hey, get back to class"
"Don't tell me what to do Sasuke Uchiha!"
Sasuke threw one more piece of paper at her and quickly closed the window muting out Sakura's voice.
Sasuke sat back down and started to laugh to himself. There was something about the way she reacts that always thrills him.
Sasuke crossed his arms and continued to laugh when he felt Karin poke his side.
He turned to her to see her give him a confusing look.
"What's so funny Sasuke?"
"Hm?"
Just then Sasuke's eyes glanced up at the door to see Sakura glaring at him with a little piece of paper stuck to her hair.
Sasuke smirked as Sakura stuck her tongue out at him when Karin's head quickly shoot towards the door.
Sasuke laughed as he watched Sakura quickly hide behind the door away from Karin's sight.
"What...who are you messing with Sasuke?"
"Dobe was standing there" he laughed as he leaned back in his chair and got back to work.
Mid-Afternoon: Home
Sasuke opened the head of his car, and made sure everything was intact for Saturday.
He wanted to make sure they wouldn't get stuck anywhere during their trip to the park.
He hunched over and rubbed a little motor oil into his hands and smothered it around the knots and bolts and walked over to start the engine.
Sasuke turned the key, and the car started by making a beautiful smooth sound.
"Perfect" he said to himself as he turned off the car, and closed the hood.
Sasuke wiped a bit of the excess oil he had on his hand on a dish rag, and popped it behind his back pocket.
Walking into the house, Sasuke looked for Sakura to see she was cleaning in the kitchen.
"Hey, are you done cooking or can I order something for us?" Sasuke asked as he stepped halfway into the kitchen.
"Hmph!" Sakura turned away from her and continued to wash the dishes.
"Hey? Did you hear me?"
Sakura turned around and stuck her tongue out at him, "Screw you Sasuke".
"Ha? Wanna repeat that?" He asked as he stepped closer to her.
Sakura flustered a bit, but she managed to grab the cookie sheet and point it at him.
Sasuke laughed as he crossed his arms and glared at her. "What are you going to do with that? Hm? Beat me?" He taunted.
"Grrrrr...don't come any closer Sasuke! I'm warning you!"
Sasuke stepped closer, knowing she wouldn't dare do anything.
He made a quick leap at her, which sent Sakura running to the other side of the kitchen.
"ahhh! Sasuke!"
Sasuke looked down at his hands then wiggled his fingers at her, a sinister grin slowly emerging onto his face.
"He-Hey why are you.." she stepped near the table as Sasuke walked closer to her ready to pounce at her.
"Hey! Keep your hands away from me Sasuke; I'm warning you or I'll hit you with this"
"Put the sheet down Sakura..."
"Move your hands Sasuke."
Sasuke quickly moved towards her making her stumble over her own foot and fall to the floor.
He laughed as he walked over to her and squatted down.
He pinched her cheeks as hard as he could.
"Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Wet gow of muh sheek!"
He bit down on his lip and pinched her cheek even harder.
"Stupid, where did this bravery come from all of a sudden, huh?"
"Wwwww! Wahhhhhh! Wet gow!"
Sakura shook her head as Sasuke let go.
He scoffed at her and started walking towards the living room when all of a sudden..
BAM!
Sasuke felt a very flat object smack him from behind his head causing him to stumble over and nearly run into the coffee table.
"Ha! Yes! Take that!"
Sasuke turned around and glared at her.
"Hahahahaha!" Sakura laughed until her eyes met Sasuke's.
"Why you..." he growled out, his inner demon came slithering out, and before Sakura had the chance to even react to him, he began to chase after her.
"Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Sorry sorry sorry sorry!" she screamed as she ran out towards the back yard.
"Get back here Sakura!"
"No leave me aloneeeeee!"
She ran out the gate, with Sasuke right behind her.
"Hahaha slow poke!" she teased as she ran towards the front yard and over to his car.
Sasuke and Sakura ran in circles until they both paused.
Sasuke began to mirror her moves.
"I said I'm sorry"
"Wait till I get my hands on you Sakura" Sasuke warned.
"That's if you catch me" she cooed, her little evil smile was much too cute for Sasuke to handle.
He felt his heart squeeze when she scrunched her nose and stuck her little red tongue at him. Sakura and Sasuke began to circle each other around his car until he was diagonally from the front door.
"Hey Sakura..."
"What?"
"The weather's nice outside right?"
"Yes...why?" Sakura asked feeling suspicious.
Sasuke glanced at the door and ran right towards it.
"What-? Hey!"
Sasuke opened the door, and quickly closed it just before she managed to step in.
She began to bang on the door and window.
"Hey let me in!"
"You said you liked the weather."
"Sasuke! Let me in!"
"Nah."
Sasuke locked the door and sat on the sofa as Sakura ran over to the window.
"I'm sorry! Please let me in!" Sakura pleaded.
"Have fun sleeping with the stray cats Sakura"
He laughed as he grabbed a catalogue from the coffee table and turned the pages.
"Stray cats?!" she looked back to see a vicious black cat stare back at her.
Sasuke chuckled as she shrieked and began to tap the window.
"You can forget about coming in."
"What about dinner?"
"I'm not hungry"
"You LIAR!"
Sasuke laughed as she began to whimper when suddenly the faint sound of Sakura crying stopped.
He looked up to see she was gone.
Eh? Where did that little mouse go?
Sasuke got up and looked out the window but she wasn't there.
Hn...Where did- shit the backdoor!
Sasuke ran towards the kitchen but before he even managed to run towards it Sakura stepped in.
"Youuuuuu!" she hissed.
"Hn"
"You're EVIL!"
Sasuke chuckled as he stepped closer to her.
"Y-You were going to l-leave me outside with th-the cats" she sniffled.
"But cats love mice," Sasuke responded.
Sakura gasped at his response and growled at him.
"You can forget about dinner Sasuke Uchiha, because I'm not cooking!" she stomped out the kitchen and walked into the living room where Sasuke followed right behind her.
"Hey!"
"What?" she sniffed, she quickly wiped a tear away from her eyes.
"Pbbt, are you really crying?"
"No! I'm just...go away!" she pressed a pillow to her face and moved her knees right to her chest, keeping her pillow in place.
Sasuke hunched over as he moved both his arms on either side of her, and leaned in.
"Hey look up"
"Why? So you can pinch my cheeks again?" she muffled through the pillow.
"No"
"Promise? Cause it really hurts when you do that," Sakura pouted into her pillow.
"I won't pinch your cheeks." Sasuke promised.
Sakura looked up and sniffled, "what?"
Sasuke bit down on his lip angrily and grabbed her little nose pinching it as hard as possible.
"Ahhhhhhhh heyyyy! Wet goooooooooowwwww!"
She started to slap his hand but Sasuke shook her face from right to left then slowly let go.
She slapped his hand then pushed the pillow to his face.
Sasuke moved it away and pulled her down to the sofa.
"Ouchh!" Sasuke put the pillow on her back and sat right on top of her.
"Ahhh you're crushing me Sasuke!"
"Hn"
"Get off!"
"Hn"
"Grrrrrr! Asshole!"
"Hn"
"Jerk!"
"Hn"
"LOSER!"
"Hn"
"STOP SAYING HN!"
"...Hn"
"Ahhhhhhh!" she started to wiggle underneath him making Sasuke laugh.
He managed to get off her, and Sakura leaped away from the sofa.
"I'm going to my room!"
"Not without making me dinner!"
"HN!" she squeaked as she stuck her middle finger out at him, Sasuke chuckled as he grabbed her by the wrist and yanked her over to the sofa.
He gripped onto her tightly as she wiggled around trying to break free.
"No! Let go! I'm mad at you," she screamed.
"Do I care?"
"I'm going to tell Naruto everything so he could knock you out again!"
Sasuke glared at her, "yeah, and I'll make sure Naruto reports back to you, bald, black eyed, and bruised."
Sakura gasped, "Don't you dare hurt him Sasuke!"
"Shut up" he laughed as he took out his phone and scrolled down for Domino's pizza number.
"I'll just order take out and-"
Ring Ring
Hm?...
Sasuke looked down to see Karin calling him.
Why is she...?
Ring Ring
Sasuke unlocked his phone and brought the phone to his ear.
"Hello?"
"Sasuke? Babe, can we meet up?"
"Uh.." Sasuke looked down at Sakura who suddenly calmed down.
He kept his eyes on her as he listened to Karin talk.
"Why?"
"Please...I miss you..."
"Karin-"
"Please Sasuke, come on, we'll have dinner together, I'll buy" she cooed into the phone.
Sasuke watched Sakura move away from him and sit on the opposite side of the sofa.
"You can go Sasuke; I don't feel like cooking today, I'll just have some ramen." Sakura's voice was back to its usual quiet, nervous tone.
"Aa."
"Sasuke I'll be at Ichiraku's 'kay? Bye."

Sakura grabbed the remote and changed the channel as Sasuke got up.
Shit...
He moved his hand through his hair and walked towards the door.
"I'm gonna um..."
"Yeah..."
knock knock
Sasuke and Sakura turned their heads towards the door.
"Temeeeeeeeeeee!"
BANG BANG BANG
"Temeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
Naruto's voice roared from outside.
"Hold up!" Sasuke shouted back as he walked over to the door and opened it.
Naruto giggled as he rubbed the back of his head and walked into the house, a big cheesy smile planted on his face.
"What's up?"
"Dobe, what are you doing here?"
"Naruto?"
"I- eh? Sakura-chaaaaan!"
He ran into the living room and just before he wrapped his arms around her Sasuke grabbed him by his shirt and yanked him back.
"Answer my question, idiot"
"ehhhhh, I was bored so I came over!" Naruto yanked his shirt away and sat next to Sakura.
"Did you eat Naruto?" Sakura asked.
"Nah hahaha, I'm kind of hungry" Naruto replied bashfully.
"Oh, mmm let me go fix dinner then"
"Haha really?! I can eat here?! AWESOME! Hey Teme why are you standing there?"
"I-"
"He has to meet Karin." Sakura said as she cut him off.
"Oh...Uh" Naruto's expression saddened but managed to give Sasuke a big smile goodbye.
"Hn, well I'm leaving" Sasuke announced.
"See ya Teme!"
Damn it... Sasuke felt his stomach sink as he walked towards the door and closed it.
Shit why did he have to come now out of all times?
Sasuke looked into the window to see Sakura jump into his arms.
He watched Naruto spin her around and put her down, but Sakura jumped into his arms again.
"Tch...whatever"
He slammed his car door and quickly drove out of the driveway.
Hn, I'm glad I'm leaving, the last thing I want to see is those two flirt in front of me...that idiot, he says he doesn't like her and yet...grrrrrr.
Sasuke shook his head and made a sharp turn towards Ichiraku's.
Ichiraku's: 8pm
Sasuke stepped in to the diner and the first thing that caught his eye was Karin on a guy's lap with his hand up her skirt.
"Karin" he growled as he kept his black narrowed eyes glued to her.
"Sasuke"
Sasuke immediately turned around walked towards his car when he hears Karin call him from behind.
"Hey wait!" she calls him out and hurries over to him.
Sasuke ignored her call and just before he opened the door
"Sasuke" she pants before looking up at him.
"I'm heading home"
"Sasuke stop! Come on I wanted to have dinner together why are you-"
"Why do you let other guys touch you so freely?!"
"What?! He was just-"
"Just what?!"
"Ugh! Come on Sasuke, seriously?! It was nothing!"
"I'm tired of this Karin, you have an excuse for every dirty little shit you do!"
"He wasn't doing anything!"
"Oh yeah? Then why-"
Karin shut him up with a hard kiss to his lips.
"Shhhh okay? I'm sorry...listen there's a reason why I wanted to have dinner together"
Sasuke didn't reply back, he simply arched an eyebrow at her.
"Um..Sasuke I was wondering..." she smiled at him innocently as she began to sway back and forth.
"Can we go out this Saturday?"
Sasuke's eyebrows furrowed, Karin was never one to ask so politely, usually she demands it and expects it to be done..
"What? Why?"
"Well...this guy..." she began, "at this party...kind of...well."
"What?"
"Well he...um"
"Tell me Karin"
Karin turned to him and took both of his hands, "promise you won't get mad?"
"Spit it out before I go home.."
"We were at this party, and I was just having some fun, him and I..." Karin bit on her lip and Sasuke groaned.
"You always do this to me-"
"No no Sasuke listen, we didn't really sleep together we just um.." she laughed nervously before clearing her throat, "well the point is one of the other guys ended up taking pictures of us and-"
"And what?"
"And he told us both that if we don't pay him he'll send those out"
"What if he already made copies"
"Jon held him back at his house, to keep an eye on him"
Sasuke sighed; he felt a major headache coming on.
"What does this have to do with me?"
"Can you pay him, or scare him off Sasuke please?"
"No way Karin, this is your fault, I'm tired of doing this for you."
Karin hugged Sasuke as tight as she possibly could. "Please Sasuke" she began to cry, "I can't ask my parents for 12 hundred like that"
Sasuke pushed her back, "twelve hundred? This bastard's asking for twelve fucking hundred for pictures?!"
"Exactly Sasuke! So please come with me Saturday and scare him away, and from now on I promise I won't go messing around anymore...I'll be more faithful to you baby please...you don't even understand why I do the things I do."
Sasuke narrowed his eyes at her; he felt a migraine come on as he tried to make sense of how to wrap up twelve hundred by this Saturday...
"Hn, what? You mean to tell me there's a rational reason as to why you're hopping on dicks behind my back?!"
"Sasuke! We didn't sleep together!"
"And that's suppose to make it okay?!"
"Sasuke! Stop yelling at me! You never yell at me like this!"
"You want me to be happy Karin!? Who in their right mind would be okay with this?!"
"If you don't want to help then fine!" Karin began to cry as she tried to walk off but Sasuke yanked her back to him out of habit.
He sighed out of frustration as she continued to cry in his arms.
"I'm sorry okay. It's just I never even see you anymore, I didn't even see you all spring break...it's not fair that Sakura gets to spend time with you more than me! You're my boyfriend and-"
"I'm not spending time with Sakura" Sasuke choked on his lies as she looked up at him.
"I told you, she's nothing to me...it's just" He leaned against his car; he was frustrated and pissed off.
What's going on with my life?...He's never had to deal with anything like this...so why is it all coming at him at once? Don't things like this affect people gradually?
"I don't want you going off with guys like that"
"Fine...if you swear you won't leave me for Sakura, Sasuke..."
"I.." he gulped, and looked at her, this girl standing before him, his first kiss, his first girlfriend, his only girlfriend, this girl held his first time in bed, his first date, his heart, his everything...
He began to ponder on what his life would be like if he stops talking to Sakura.
Sakura knows I don't consider her my wife, nor is she my lover, or my friend, or anything...she's just... this thoughts trailed off.
Sakura was a girl he's using to get away from his parent's house, even if he managed to get along with her for a while, in the end he still hates her...why?...Because if Sakura didn't come in to the picture, then Karin would be with him...but why did he want to be with her so badly?..Either way, Sasuke knows for a fact, that he could do without Sakura for a day, a week, months even but Karin...?
"I swear" he sighed.
He knew how much of a drug Karin was.
"Thank you" she whispered as she kissed him deeply.
She was a bad drug, a drug that manipulates him through guilt, lies, and cheats. Sasuke falls into it every single time out of habit, because he's done this over a hundred times.
He knew what she was, yet he couldn't stay away...but why? That's probably the only question he himself couldn't answer.
Why her? Why Karin?... every time he tried to think back to when he first met her he felt a strong headache come on, as if his mind's trying to block those memories out, for his safety...but safety from what?...
Saturday: 11am
Sasuke just got home from a nice 10 mile jog and walked into the kitchen for a drink and some breakfast. He sat down at his usual table as Sakura placed an egg and cheese omelette in front of him, with a nice serving of fried rice. Sakura happily sat down next to him and began to gulp down her food.
"What's the rush?"
"I'm making lunch for us, I figured we can have a picnic while we're at the park...is that okay?"
Sasuke shrugged his shoulders as he walked over and grabbed a second batch of eggs. He sat back down and watched her talk to herself as she took note in what to make.
"Is there anything in particular you want to eat?" she asked him as she bit into her omelette.
"Nah" Sasuke was fine with anything she made, although he's picky when it came to food, he never really scolded Sakura for her cooking.
"Mm okay...well all I have to take care of now is dessert."
Sasuke downed his glass of milk and wiped the edge of his mouth with his napkin.
"What do you want?"
"Chocolate cake!" she yelped but then quickly covered her mouth.
Sasuke smirked as he watched her cheeks flushed pink.
"Alright, I'll get cake before we go, be ready by 2"
"Okay" Sakura smiled at him as she took his dishes and walked over to the kitchen to finish cleaning. Sasuke walked over to his car and drove into town; he drives over to Konan's bakery and has the priciest chocolate cake wrapped up and ready to eat.
Hm...She's probably never seen what the park looks like during the night, right?
Sasuke walks over to his car and places the cake into the passenger seat of his car, making sure it wouldn't slip off he secures it tightly and closes the door.
Sasuke makes his way towards the toy store when he glances over at the jewellery shop right across the street. The first thing that caught Sasuke eye, even from far away was the stunning pale pink bejewelled bracelet that was being displayed out in the front window.
"That's...perfect" he said to himself as he kept his eyes locked on the prize. Sasuke ran across the street and slipped right into front counter.
"Um excuse me?"
The older woman turned around and brightly smiled at Sasuke.
"Yes, how may I help you today?"
"The tennis bracelet in the front...can I get a better look at it?"
"Well sweetie I would, but that bracelet is much to-"
Sasuke slipped out his credit card and the woman looked down to read his name: Sasuke Uchiha.
She smiled at him, and he smiled back at her, amused.
"Well..."
It's as if he heard the sound of money right there and then the second she made eye contact with him.
"Uchiha-sama you came into the perfect store! Let's have a look at that bracelet now"
She walked over and slipped out the tennis bracelet.
It was a beautiful sapphire bracelet, each gem cut into a diamond shape; there was a silver lining in between each gem.
"It's perfect" Sasuke told her, as he handed it back to her.
She walked over to the counter and began to calculate the price for the bracelet.
Sasuke watched her weigh the bracelet, type into the computer then turn the screen towards him.
Sasuke read the screen and smirked: Total: $1, 650.00
Hn, am I really going to spend that much on a bracelet for...Sakura?
"Well do you want me to ring you up or..."
Sasuke looked at the bracelet for a good minute, it was the perfect shade of pink, he knew for a fact he wouldn't find anything like this again.
"Yeah I'll take it"
The woman clapped her hands, "oh perfect!"
He handed his card to her and chuckled to himself, I'm crazy.
"Uchiha-sama would you like this gift wrapped or-"
"Yeah, a black box will do"
"Alrighty!"
Sasuke lightly nodded at the woman as he walked around the shop when his eyes went towards the rings.
He looked down and quickly scanned the row of rings when he did a double glance at one in particular.
Sasuke furrowed his brows as he continued to stare down at the light emerald green ring.
His eyes narrowed as he tried to figure out where he's seen a ring like this before.
Why does this look so familiar...? He hunched down and stared at it, he was drawn to the ring, only because it felt as if he's seen something like this before.
Sasuke closed his eyes and tried to think really hard when suddenly he felt a strong headache come on.
He hissed as he quickly shook his head, "shit..." he whispered as he got up and walked over to the counter.
"Are you alright Uchiha-sama? Is there anything else you'd like?"
"Ah, no..."
"Well here you are, please sign below"
Sasuke quickly signed where he needed to and she handed him a copy of his receipt.
"Please come again" she sang, as Sasuke walked out the door and headed towards his car.
Cake, done, present, done...all that's left is-
ring ring
Sasuke walked into his car and pulled out his phone to see...
Ba-thump...Karin..shit.
"Hello?"
"Sasuke?."
"..."
"Sasuke please answer me!" She cried into the phone.
Sasuke's eyes slightly widened, "Hey are you-"
"He won't leave me alone Sasuke I'm scared!"
"Where are you?"
"We're near a house at the Swan Lake Park"
"What's he saying to you?"
Sasuke turned the key to his car and began to drive, his phone still against his ear.
"He said he's going to-ahh! Sasuke!"
"Karin?!"
Sasuke nearly ran a red light, his heart began to squeeze.
"Hey you're Sasuke?"
"Who the fuck are you?"
"Teh, you want this bitch back...? Then bring my money."

"Hello?! Hello? Fuck" Sasuke hissed as continued to drive straight.
Fuck if I don't go now they're going to do something to her but...
'Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!'
...Sakura..
"Shit! what do I do!?"
Sasuke stopped at another red light, he looked at the right lane, then the left.
The right lane would lead him to his house, and the left towards the park.
Sasuke tapped the wheel and kept his finger near his blinker...
"Fuck..." his heart was clenching again, as he watched the red light turn green.
Without even thinking twice, Sasuke just did whatever came to his mind first...

Home: living room, 6:00pm.

Sakura has been sitting in the living room for the past 4 hours. She tapped the armrest of the sofa as she stared right at the front door waiting for Sasuke to come in.
Sakura has been ready since 2 just as Sasuke told her.
"Ugh where is he?,...is he okay?...what if- no way"
Sakura shook her head to push away the negative thoughts from her mind.
"He's fine, Sasuke's a safe driver, I'm sure he's fine" Sakura reassured herself.
Sakura sat up and pressed her knees against her chest as she poked the edge of the picnic basket.
"The food's getting cold...where is he?"
Sakura began to think that maybe Sasuke wasn't going to show up. She felt her eyes burn from her holding back her tears.
"He promised..." she sniffed as she sat there, hoping he'll come running in to the house in no time.
"I'm sure of it..."
She quickly wiped her eyes and waited when suddenly the house phone went off..
"Sasuke!"
She ran to the phone and quickly picked it up,
"He-hello?"
"Sakura?"...his voice was deep, but it wasn't Sasuke's voice at all.
"Ah yes.."
"It's Shikamaru"
"Oh...um hi Shikamaru."
"Uh yeah hey, listen...Sasuke told me to give you the message that he won't be coming, I'm not sure what he meant by that but he said you'd get it and-"
"Oh...yeah I understand, thank you..."
"Yeah, well that's all"
"Oh...okay, thanks for letting me know"
"No prob."
"Bye."
Sakura slowly hung up the phone and walked back to the sofa.
"Surprise, surprise..." she mumbled as she lay back on the sofa.
Sakura felt her tears start to burn again; she took off her glasses and turned to her side when she felt her phone vibrate.
She answered the call, and whispered into the phone, "hi Naruto..."
"Hey Sakura-cha-ahh...hey...You okay?"
She sniffed and quickly wiped her eyes, "mhm, I'm fine..."
"Sakura? Hey tell me what's wrong."
"Sa...Sasuke..."
"What about him? Did he hurt you-"
"No...He..."
"What?"
"He told me we were going to go see the sakura trees today, and well haha" she laughed, "I waited here...for a couple hours for him...I guess something happened and he couldn't make it.." her voice trailed off into a whisper.
"...sakura trees at the park?"
"Mhm...Oh well, right?" she sniffed and forced herself to smile, "I wasn't expecting him to take me anyway hahaha, he's really mean for doing this though...mm..."
"..."
Naruto was quiet for a little while.
"Uh Naruto are you-"
"Do you want to go?"
"Huh?.."
"Do you want to go...to the park"
"Yeah but-"
"Wait for me I'll be there."
"Ah Naruto you don't-"
"5 minutes, I promise"
