Chapter 20
Sakura...
In a blink of an eye Sakura was out of sight. The two began running after Sakura but they had no clue as to where she might be now. Sasuke ignored Karin calling for him back near the bench as they began searching the area for the girl. They paused to take a breather when Sasuke turned to see Naruto stare back at him.
"You go back to Karin, I'll look for Sakura" Naruto said to Sasuke. Sasuke scowled, a burning sensation was eating him up from the inside out.
Without even thinking about it, Sasuke grabbed Naruto by the arm and yanked him away.
"Stay away from her Dobe."
Naruto got angry and pushed Sasuke back, "stay away!? Who the fuck are you to tell me to stay away from Sakura, Teme? Huh!? Why are you playing hero now?!"
Sasuke was angry as he growled and pushed Naruto back harder, pushing him to the floor, "I said, stay. Away. From. Her. Dobe." He gritted between his teeth.
Naruto got back up and pushed Sasuke back just as hard, making Sasuke skid to the floor.
Sasuke got up and Naruto both paused to stare back at each other, and just before they ran at each other, both Naruto and Sasuke paused midway; eyes wide open.
This...why does this feel like déjà vu...? Sasuke thought to himself. This whole scenario was much too familiar for him.
Naruto continued to scowl at his best friend with a similar thought; this is just like the day back when Sasuke and I fought all over again...
"Dobe..."
"Teme..."
"Why did you leave her Teme?! Why do you keep hurting her!?"
Sasuke suddenly stood straight, and closed his eyes; he was much to agitated to deal with this right now. Sakura could be anywhere, and he didn't want to deal with Naruto just yet, so he stayed quiet.
Naruto walked up to Sasuke and clutched him by his shirt and shook him, "Why do you continue hurting her?! Teme, you do this to her, over and over and over and over!"
"Let. Go."
"No! Not until you answer my question you bastard!"
"Let go of me Dobe, you're pissing me off!"
"HA! You think I care?! I'm warning you Teme!"
Sasuke smirked at Naruto and stared right into his eyes as he grabbed Naruto's hand and flipped him onto the floor.
Naruto quickly got up and aimed for Sasuke's face but Sasuke quickly grabbed his fist, distracted he didn't care to notice Naruto's knee shoot up and jag him right in the ribs.
"Teme! I'm serious; I'm warning you about Sakura!"
Sasuke smirked as he looked up at his best friend and stared at him.
"Hn, what about her?"
Naruto narrowed his eyes, then looked down as he clenched his fists tightly, "If you keep doing then I'll!...I'll.."
Naruto grew quiet...
Sasuke put his hands in his pockets, "you'll what, Dobe?"
Naruto looked up at Sasuke and stared right at Sasuke's eyes. "I'll take-"
"Naruto?..." a voice called out.
Naruto and Sasuke both turned their heads towards the voice to see Hinata staring back at Naruto with tears streamed down her whitish purple eyes.
Naruto's eyes widened as the color out of his face drained out.
"Hinata? What are you...look Hinata we have to talk later okay? I promise I'll explain myself to you."
Hinata was standing there with Kiba on her side with his hands on her shoulders, with Ino, TenTen and Temari besides her. Neji stood before Hinata with Sai beside him along side Shikamaru.
"What the fuck Uzumaki" Kiba growled out.
Naruto shook his head frustrated, "look I don't have time for this I have to look for Sakura." Naruto started running off when he felt someone grab his arm and yank him back. Naruto turned around only to have his face meet Kiba's first.
"I told you Naruto!" he shouted, "I told you not to break her heart!" he tried to punch Naruto again but Naruto caught his fist and twisted it behind his back causing all the girls to scream.
"Naruto let go of him please, Naruto-kun!" Hinata begged. Naruto looked right at Hinata and looked down at Kiba, "stop acting as if you never hurt her Kiba."
Kiba flipped him over, but before he had the chance to punch Naruto caught his fist. "Why are you cheating on her Naruto!?"
"Who said I was cheating?! Why don't you mind your own business Kiba!"
"I'm not going to mind my own business. Just because you treat Hinata like shit doesn't mean that I'm anything like you Uzumaki!"
"Then why is Hinata with me?!"
"Stop! Please!" Hinata raised her voice, "please just stop fighting!" Hinata began to tear up and ran off with Kiba just behind her and Naruto a little behind them.
"Hinata!" They called out as Naruto fought with his inner self on what he should do, but at this point he had no choice, I'm sorry Sakura, I'll come for you but Hinata...she has to come first for now...man I screwed up..
"Poor Hinata..." TenTen said to everyone as they stood there awkwardly,
"Hn, I know that dumbass doesn't deserve her!" Karin said
"Karin, are you sure they did anything?" Ino asked.
Karin gasped at Ino, wide-eyed, "why would I lie?! Hinata's my friend and we both saw them. Just ask Sasuke!"
Karin said pointing to the spot Sasuke was standing.
"Hey...where is Sasuke?" Ino suddenly asked to see the tall Uchiha nowhere in sight. Karin looked back to see Sasuke gone.
"Huh?! Sasuke? Sasuke!" Karin called out louder, "Sasukeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
She stomped her foot and crossed her arms, ugh! Where did he go!?
Hn, I'm done with you for the day Karin Sasuke thought to himself as he ran through the trees. It was dark now at the park. It was getting darker by the minute, meaning it'll be harder to find Sakura with the way things are going.
Sasuke ran from spot to spot, bush to bush, tree to tree, come on Sakura where are you?...
He looked around until he rested against a tree to catch his breath.
" do I do now?" he whispered to himself. "I-" Sasuke stopped for a second when a faint muffled sound was coming from a nearby tree.
He lifted his eyebrow at the sound and listened carefully...It sounds like someone is...
The sound of someone whimpering and sniffling triggered Sasuke's mind easily. He slowly creeped over to see Sakura sitting against the tree with her forehead glued to her forearms.
Sasuke didn't dare to make a move as he listened to her cry...She was beginning to cry louder it was making Sasuke feel queasy from...guilt.
Sasuke was just about to walk off when his leg brushed against the bush causing Sakura to look up to see Sasuke standing there against the tree.
"Uh..." he swallowed hard as Sakura suddenly got up.
"Uh...Saku-"
"I HATE YOU!" she screamed
Sasuke stepped towards her, "stay away from me Sasuke!"
"Sakura listen, I'm-" Sakura took something out from the picnic basket and chucked it at him, "I said stay away! I hate you!" Sasuke continued walking her way, but Sakura got to her feet.
"Sakura-"
"No! I'll never let you set a foot near me Sasuke Uchiha! Keep away from me! Keep. Away. From. Me!" She growled before she began to run off again.
Sasuke huffed out and ran his hand through his hair. He was tired...It's been a long day.
Sasuke continued to follow her through the woods when he saw her suddenly stop. Sasuke's eye widened just a bit but he slowly creeped up behind her but paused midway when he heard two voices reach his ears...
"Hinata please look at me" Naruto begged.
Sasuke gasped, Do...Dobe with...Hinata? Sasuke looked right at Sakura who was standing there frozen near the tree watching the two of them. Sasuke glanced over at her to see her whole body was shaking...Why isn't she moving? Why is she just watching them? Does she want to hurt herself?
Sasuke didn't dare make a move; it'll blow their cover so he remained quiet.
"Naruto..." -hic- "Naru.." she was sniffling as she rubbed her bright eyes.
"Hinata...please turn around and look at me..." Naruto whispered.
Sasuke glanced at Sakura who was still watching with tears streaming down her face and neck...the moonlight glistened against her skin revealing all the tears stained on her neck.
Naruto turned Hinata around and stared into her eyes.
"Please believe me, nothing happened..." Sasuke's body stiffened, he couldn't breathe for a second when he heard Sakura gasp.
"But Kiba said-"
"Don't believe him! Nothing happened!"
"I know but-"
Naruto kissed Hinata and Sasuke's head turned right to Sakura who suddenly lost all feelings in her legs. Sasuke quickly caught her in his arms before she hit the floor.
"I love you Hinata...I do love you..."
Hinata was still crying, "I know ...I love you too."
Sasuke held in his breath when he heard Sakura's muffled cries. He pulled them behind the tree and slid down against the tree slowly. Sakura was sitting between his legs with both her hands over her mouth to muffle out her cries.
"Naruto...if nothing happened then why would Kiba say something like that..."
Naruto's eyes widened for a second, he felt his heart twist and turn at the question he was being asked.
"Naruto?"
Naruto shook his head, "I..." he sighed, "I care about you Hinata...you know that, I've told you before how much I care about you..."
"But that doesn't answer my question Naruto." Hinata said as she turned away from him.
Naruto sighed, his head was pounding the pain from all that beating he got was kicking in. He was so confused with himself it was killing him, "Why are you still hung up on what Kiba tells you if I'm your boyfriend?" he asked. Each word choked in between his heavy breathing...
Hinata turned around and stared at his eyes searching for any truth in his words.
Sasuke took in a sharp breath when Sakura began to shake insensibly...her body was shivering.
"I don't...know..." she began to cry, "I'm sorry Naruto-kun I'm just confused...I was so scared when Kiba came to tell me the news..."
Naruto tilted her chin up and kissed her; he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her hard...
Hinata's legs were giving out but he managed to keep her glued to him, but Hinata pushed him away.
"I'm sorry...I can't bring myself to believe you...it doesn't make sense to me as to why you're both here...together...I'm sorry I sound horrible right now.."
Naruto's eyes grew wide, "w...wwhat? Hinata I would never cheat on you..."
"I know but...Naruto I'm still so confused."
Sasuke looked down to see Sakura froze in place, Naruto's sweater still in her hand, she took in a deep breath and moved away from Sasuke, "what are you doing?" he whispered harshly, Sakura ignored him and shakily got to her feet.
"Stay out of this..." she said. she sounded as if she was falling ill from crying so much.
Sasuke grabbed her hand but Sakura pulled away and wiped her tears, she took in deep breaths and forced a smile on her face.
Sasuke watched the girl walk towards the couple, "oh Naruto there you are..."
Naruto turned his head right towards Sakura, her voice sounded congested.
"Sakura..." he whispered and his head went right down to Hinata.
Sakura stepped closer to them, just then the rest of the gang finally caught up to all of them. Sasuke peeked over to see his friends eye Sakura down.
Sakura smiled and looked right at Naruto, "thanks Naruto for offering to buy me ice cream earlier today, oh and thanks for helping me gather some stuff, Kakashi sensei's going to be really glad when he sees my extra credit assignment now" she lied.
Sasuke gasped and furrowed his brows, what is she talking about?
Naruto looked at Sakura, confused as everyone lifted their eyebrows at her.
"Here's your sweater, thanks for letting me use it as a carrier, I got all the things I need in my basket now. I'm sorry for troubling you; this extra credit project meant a lot to me."
"Extra..credit?" Hinata asked and Sakura looked at Hinata and smiled, "ahh yes, I asked Kakashi sensei if I can do something for extra credit, and he said I had to do a study of something from Konoha, and suggested this park. I came here on my own but I just saw Naruto here a little before Sasuke came. I asked Naruto if he wanted some ice cream and he offered to pay in return of being part of my project for sensei...so we only seen each other for 5-6 minutes..."
"WHAT?!" Karin angrily called out as she crossed her arms and glared at Sakura.
"Really?" Hinata asked as she turned to Naruto.
Everyone began to murmur to themselves.
Sasuke put a hand over his face and dragged it down, this girl...why did she have to make up something like that...
"You're such a fucking liar Sakura!"
Sakura darted her attention to Karin, "How would you know, you and Sasuke seen me only two minutes before Naruto and I met up."
"UGH! Guys don't believe her! She's lying!"
"I'm not lying!" she fought back, "Naruto and I have nothing going on, nothing...He's like a b-brother to me...I came here on my own, he just wanted to have ice cream together. There's nothing between us. If you don't believe me then ask him yourself"
Everyone turned their head to Naruto who looked right at Sakura then at Hinata who looked right into his eyes.
...I...I'm not a coward...I can't just lie...I-....
"Ye-Yeah" he whispered as he kept his head down...he felt so ashamed of himself, I really am a coward...
Sasuke watched Sakura's hands clench into a fist as she held them behind her back, he stared at her hands dig into her palm as if she was trying to endure massive pain just now..
"Well I believe Na-Naruto s-so of what Sakura-san says is true then..."
"Well glad that's over with..." Shikamaru said as he turned away.
Karin glared back at Sakura who pointedly ignored her.
"Ahh uhm Hinata-san if it makes you feel better then...uhm one second"
She ran over to behind the tree and took the basket from Sasuke's side and pulled out one of the orchids Naruto gave her earlier in the day and ran over to Hinata.
"Naruto asked me to pick these for you...so here."
Naruto stared at Sakura's hands closely to see she was shaking but she had the biggest smile on her face.
Hinata took the orchids from her hands. "Oh" she blushed and hugged Naruto tightly. "Thank you Naruto-kun they're beautiful."
Naruto said nothing as he ghostly hugged Hinata back and glanced at Sakura who wasn't facing them anymore.
Sasuke couldn't watch anymore and continued to sit behind the tree.
"Well I hope you don't blame Naruto anymore he was just being a good c-classmate."
Naruto's heart pulled at her words making him feel worse.
"I'm sorry for thinking wrong Sakura-san..."
"No no" she shook her hands, "It's fine, anyone would've mistaken that... Naruto re-really, really...loves you. He told me countless times about how much he cares about you. Every time we talk or anything he always mentions you... Please don't think his attention would turn to any other girl. He's a good guy who just wanted to help me is all, I..." she paused and look right at Naruto. "I don't like Naruto that way...we're only classmates, him and I barely know each other so...don't take our friendship the wrong way, please" she bowed and Hinata walked over and tilted her chin up. "It's fine Sakura-chan thank you for telling me the truth."
Sakura smiled and nodded her head, "mhm! ...well I have to um..finish...whatever it is I c-came here for.." She said stepping backwards away from the mass of eyes that continued to stare at her. "Na-Naruto thanks for offering to b-buy me ice cream, I uh..." she was beginning to choke on her words.. 'I w-was ha-happy to see.." she swallowed hard as Naruto's eyes stayed on her, the pressure of everyone watching her shatter was killing her but she kept her smile intact, "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, goodnight to you all" she bowed her head letting the tears fall onto the lense of her thick glasses and quickly turned around before anyone saw anything and casually walked into the forest.
Sasuke got up to grab her but Sakura moved off and began running away.
"Well...now that everything is clear...um Hinata are you okay?" Ino asked as Hinata hugged her best friends tightly, "yes...Naruto-kun"
Naruto was off in his own thoughts but was brought back to life by the sound of Hinata's voice, "hm?"
"Can we go home?"
Naruto smiled at her, "y-yeah, let's go home..."
Hinata ran over to Naruto's side and she hugged his arm as everyone began to run off.
"Ugh I still don't know where Sasuke ran off to!" Karin screamed.
"I'm sure Sasuke-kun is near the cars waiting for you Karin-chan" Hinata said, her spirit has been lifted by Sakura's words and she wasn't feeling doubt anymore.
Ino was slowly walking behind them when she stopped mid step and looked back at the trail Sakura left from. Ino crossed her arms and wondered why Sakura suddenly got shaky....Something's not right...
Ino began walking away wondering why she couldn't bring herself to believe everything Sakura said.
Sasuke was walking down the trail when he heard his phone ring. He turned it off without checking to see who even called. His chest felt heavy, it was like there were 50 pound weights on top of his lungs making it harder for him to breathe...
He continued to walk down when he heard Naruto call him out, "Teme!"
Sasuke turned around to see Naruto beckoning his hand over to him. Sasuke walked over and nodded his head to Hinata who was putting on Naruto's sweater.
"What...Dobe."
Naruto pushed him away a little and looked at his best friend, "where did Sakura go?"
Sasuke shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know..." he said truthfully, "I have to keep looking...its 9 now..."
Naruto sighed, he looked frustrated and stressed, "when you find her again can you tell her to give me a call...I wanna talk to her."
Sasuke closed his eyes and looked at Naruto, "Hn, I doubt she'll look at me today let alone let me say anything to her..."
"Teme please I need to talk to her," he begged.
"I'll tell her" he finally said, "but I have to find her now..."
"Yeah...I gotta head home..." Naruto walked away when Sasuke called him back, "Dobe..."
Naruto looked back at the Uchiha,
"What?"
Naruto walked over and looked at Sasuke as Sasuke turned back to him, he sighed and touched his neck, "Did...did she have fun at least...?" Sasuke asked.
Naruto stayed quiet as his attention lowered towards the floor, "yeah, she did..."
Sasuke stayed quiet as did Naruto. Both boys felt like crap right now, no words were needed for them to know just how bad they felt right now "she had a blast. My only regret is that I should've taken her with me to get ice cream rather than leaving her there..."
"Hn..." Sasuke grew angry again; he ruined things for himself, yet he's blaming Naruto for it.
"Teme...you still didn't answer my question from before. Why do you continue hurting her?"
Sasuke pushed his hands into his pocket and walked passed Naruto a bit having their shoulders bump into one another, "don't ask me why I caused her pain, when you just did yourself."
"It's not the same Sasuke!"
Sasuke turned back halfway to look at Naruto, "Hn, Dobe...let me ask you this, did Sakura cry because of you?"
Naruto stayed quiet...
"Did she?"
Naruto clenched his fists tightly, "...y-y...yes."
"Did you do anything about it...?"
"..."
"Did you?"
"...no...I didn't..."
Sasuke turned around and lowered his head, "then you're no better than me..."
Naruto's eyes widened at Sasuke's words as Sasuke walked off.
Where did she go now? Sasuke was about to turn when suddenly Karin walked out in front of him, "Sasuke! Where have you been?! I've been looking for you-!"
"Leave."
"What?"
Sasuke glared at her. Sasuke's old habit of coming to Karin's rescue is an uncontrollable habit of his. If she hadn't called and if he hadn't been an idiot and turned the left lane, then Sakura would've spent the whole day with him and not Naruto.
"Get...away.." he gritted between his teeth, "call a cab and get the fuck away from me..."
"Sasuke?" Karin was shaking from the glare Sasuke gave her; never in her life did Sasuke glare at her like that- with eyes full of cold...hate..
Sasuke continued to walk down the forest when he heard the sound of a similar cry nearby.
Sasuke walked over to see Sakura crying while sitting before the pond, her legs against her chest.
Sasuke decided it was best not to bother her now. He sat next to her and kept his mouth shut.
"Hey..." he finally said but Sakura didn't answer him. Sasuke scooted over to her and poked her arm, "Hey..." Sakura smacked his hand away.
"Leave me alone...I'm tired."
"...wanna go home?"
"Not with you" she quickly said, "I never want to go anywhere with you ever again..." she whispered, "you..." her voice squeaked, "I know you hate me but I didn't know you hated me this much..." Sakura was crying out loud, " I didn't know how hated I was by you Sasuke...how stupid of me to ever believe you would do anything nice to me. I-" Sakura gasped.
Sasuke suddenly put his arms around her and pulled her into his arms. "Stop" he whispered harshly, "just stop."
"Let go." she croaked.
"Make me."
Sakura tried to push him away but she had no amount of strength left in her arms, she was tired.
"Let...go.."
"No.."
"Let me go!"
"Shut up, we're going home Sakura."
"No! I'm not leaving with you!"
Sasuke got up and yanked her over his shoulder.
"No, let me go! Let me go!" she was kicking her feet and punching his back but Sasuke wasn't feeling anything. Her body was extremely hot and she was limped onto his shoulder...she was getting sick.
"You're tired, let's just go home..."
"This is your entire fault! Everything is yourself! I hate you! I hate you Sasuke, I hate you!" she screamed as they walked further into the parking lot. All eyes were drawing to them as Sasuke ignored the looks and made his way to his car.
He plopped her into the seat and buckled her in, Sakura wasn't sitting still but Sasuke didn't care much, as long as she was buckled in it was good enough for him.
He sat inside and looked behind to see the chocolate cake from earlier was in his back seat now.
...Damn
Sasuke looked at Sakura whose face was turned away from him. Sasuke began to drive off and the two sat there in silence, only the sounds of Sakura's sniffling. Sasuke sighed as he turned the corner and went into a drive-thru for a nearby burger joint.
Sasuke ordered food for them both and drove home. Sasuke didn't even finish parking and Sakura swung the door open ready to get out. Sasuke knew she didn't want to stay in the car with him for another minute.
Sasuke took the food, and cake home only to see Sakura was already walking upstairs.
Sasuke sighed. Anger was hitting him again as he sat alone on the sofa. He laid back and covered his eyes with his forearm until he heard the doorbell ring.
Who could be at the door this late hour?
Sasuke walked over to the door to see Mebuki standing at the doorway.
"Uh..." Sasuke stared at her confused as she hesitantly smiled at her, "...Okaa-sama.."
"Sasuke-kun...is Sakura there?"
Sasuke let the woman in and walked her into the living room.
Sasuke scratched the back of his head and looked up at the staircase, "she's in he-err...she's upstairs..."
"Can you call her downstairs?" Sasuke nodded at her and walked upstairs, "Sakura your mother's here." Sasuke said. He heard something crash against the door before she screamed out, "that bitch isn't my mother, tell her to fuck off!"
Sasuke's eyes widened at Sakura's words and opened the door to see Sakura's face pale and puffy, her nose was red...she was still crying.
Was her heart that broken? This was proof that Sasuke didn't know just how much Sakura loved Naruto.
"Go downstairs she's calling for you."
Sakura growled out and got up; she sharply passed him and smashed her shoulder against his body.
Sasuke furrowed his eyebrows at her as she made her way downstairs. Sasuke felt too awkward to go down so he stayed upstairs and decided it was best to let them talk among themselves.
"Sakura" he heard Mebuki call out.
Sasuke was just about to turn towards his room when he heard a very loud slap, follow by a thud to the floor.
Sasuke quickly ran down the stairs to see Sakura on the floor with a hand over her face.
"You disgusting, cheap, girl! How dare you!" Mebuki huffed out, "How dare you cheat on your husband with his best friend! Just how shameless are you?!"
Sasuke's eyes widened as he stepped near Sakura who was shaking again, her hands clenched into a fist as Mebuki continued to curse at her daughter.
"Okaa-sama I-" Sasuke began.
Mebuki interrupted him by bowing down, "I'm sorry for my disgusting daughter Sasuke-kun, I-."
"No it's fine she didn't."
"Please- she's a shameless little girl who needed to be taught a lesson."
"Yeah, it's too bad I never had a mother to teach me any good" Sakura suddenly said.
Mebuki gasped at Sakura's sudden words.
"Excuse me? Do you want to repeat that?"
Sakura was laughing a cold laugh as she got up to her feet her cheek was already bruised but she managed to smile at her mother, "you heard me bitch I'm sure I don't have to repeat myself to you."
"You-how dare you" Mebuki tried to slap her again but Sasuke quickly caught her hand.
"Sasuke-kun please let go! I need to teach her a lesson!"
Sakura crossed her arms, she was shaking but she didn't let her ground down, "teach me a lesson about what? Who are you- my mother?" Sakura gave Mebuki a smug grin and walked upstairs as Mebuki growled out.
Sasuke managed to hold her back as he looked over at Sakura who took her time walking back to her room
Sasuke was confused, what's gotten into this girl?
"Okaa-sama...please listen Sakura isn't-"
"I apologize to you Sasuke-kun, truth be told you weren't suppose to marry her, but Karin...she's a disgrace to the Haruno family, it's no wonder you haven't shared the same bed yet" Mebuki said to him making Sasuke freeze in place..
How...how did she...?
"Karin told me...don't worry I won't tell your mother Sasuke because I understand, take care. Hmph! The nerve of that girl..." Mebuki walked off and left Sasuke all alone in his own thoughts.
Karin told her mother and Sakura just called her mother a... what the fuck is going on?
Sasuke went to his room, hit the shower and walked back downstairs, neither one of them has touched their food. Sasuke ate alone and after much pondering, Sasuke decided to bring her food up to her.
He knocked on her door once, "Hey"
"Fuck off" she said, her voice distant and cold.
This Sakura was much different, today must've done some real damage to her...
Sasuke ignored her comment and opened her door
"I said to go away! I told you to stay away from me!"
"Sakura!"
"Stay away!"She started looking for something to throw at him and Sasuke put her food to the side. He ran right to her nightstand and took her picture frame away before she had the chance to grab it and throw it at him.
"Keep away from me!" she cried out, Sakura grabbed something else off her nightstand and threw it at Sasuke, cutting him alongside his forehead. She tried to take the picture frame from his hand but Sasuke held it high above his head. He grabbed her by her shoulder and shook her, "what's going on with you!"
Sakura began to cry, "You...you're killing me, I hate you! I hate this life; I hate this life so much! What did I do to you Sasuke?!" Sasuke dropped the picture frame as he held her arms tightly preventing her from hitting him.
He shook her again, "why are you acting this w-"
"Why can't I be with him... why can't I have one thing good happen in my life?" she cried.
Sasuke swallowed hard, her voice soft and full of pain He turned his head away from her when he felt Sakura slip out of his hand and fall to the floor.
"I don't want to stay here anymore! I wanna leave; I wanna leave from here and never come back!"
Sasuke felt his legs give out and he sat in front of her as he watched her cry over his best friend.
"I feel so stupid!"
"Why..." Sasuke asked, his heart was a void at this point. He's never seen someone so...miserable before. There's more to her story than I know...I know that but my question is...just how bad is all of it...? Why are you so hurt...?
"I feel so stupid for ever thinking that Naruto would like me more than a friend."
Pang...ahh..So that's what it is...
Sasuke took in a sharp breath when he realized what the real reason behind all this was.
"You love him a lot..." Sasuke suddenly said without even thinking about it.
Sakura looked up at him and her lip quivered. "I...I do...I really do...but it doesn't matter...I can never have him" she sniffed. Sakura was calming down a bit; she was taking in deep shaky breaths as she walked over to her bed, with Sasuke just behind her. He sat at the edge of her bed as she grabbed a pillow and hugged it tightly, "Naruto's blessed with a good life, for someone like him to ever have feelings for someone like me- is impossible..."
Sasuke shut his mouth tightly. He felt an inner anger creep back up again...
"I spent the whole day thinking that Naruto and I would finally become something. I didn't think about how I was married to you, or how he had a girlfriend, I forgot everything. It felt like a dream...but as always like everything else in my life that came shattering down."
"I'm..." Sasuke didn't know what to say.
It was quiet for a while...maybe 5-6 minutes of silence.
"Why..." she suddenly whispered. "Why did you bring my hopes up with empty promises...?"
Sasuke's head shot right to her to see tears come again.
"Sakura I-"
"Why did you make me think that for once in my life you and I were going to actually move forward with each other?"
"Sakura just-"
"Why did you make me think that Sasuke? Why did you make me wake up at 5 in the morning to begin cooking for you?! Why did you show up with that whore the last minute and RUIN everything for me when I finally got the chance to forget what you did to me... WHY?!"
"Sakura will you listen to me-"
"Why did you make me sit at home for 4 hours Sasuke? Why is it that I had to hear from Shikamaru instead of you about not showing up? Why did you push me so low that I had to tell Naruto what happened...?"
Sasuke wasn't getting the chance to even say anything to her.
Sakura clenched the sheets and looked at him, "If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have had to go with Naruto! I wouldn't have had to spend the whole day with him and push my own hopes into thinking that Naruto liked me!"
"Sakura would you just shut up and listen!?"
"NO!" She pushed him away and Sasuke gripped onto her wrist, "I'm tired of this!"
"Why are you making this a big deal!?"
"You wouldn't understand Sasuke!"
"What won't I understand?"
"That a person like me takes very little things to heart...you wouldn't understand what it's like to feel love for the first time. You Sasuke Uchiha have money in your hands, you have looks, you have power, you have friends, and you have a mother who wants nothing but the best for you, a father who wants to make you someone worth looking at, an amazing older brother to look up to."
"..."
Sakura got off and began walking in front of Sasuke as she poked his chest, "you have a car you get to drive all day and night, a house all to yourself, you don't need to work, your bills are paid easily by your father, you're going to an expensive high school with no worries about how to pay tuition off, you have amazing friends, a best friend who would kill the world for you Sasuke. The world. You have everything anyone can ever imagine. A person can only dream of living your life. On top of everything you have you were blessed with looks that kill, but guess what Sasuke...?"
Sasuke stepped back he was now standing outside of her open door. "None of that because you..." she paused. "...You- Sasuke Uchiha are a man with no heart, no brains, no soul. You have a ruthless tongue, you have no conscious what. So. Ever. You don't deserve the things you have, the luxury your parents have given you. You don't deserve a loving mother, a dedicated father, a great brother, a loving friend, good companions, and a warm home." Sakura's voice was breaking, she was losing her voice.
Sasuke had nothing to say to her, truthfully her words cut him deep...he felt worse before for leaving her, he felt even worse when he heard her humiliate herself in front of Naruto, he felt devastated when she started throwing a fit but now...now he knew he could no longer reach her...Sakura was distant from reality...
Sasuke lowered his head as did Sakura.
She kept her head glued towards the floor and turned around, "you...are an ungrateful man Sasuke... that is why you won't understand me...You're a monster Sasuke, nothing but a cold, heartless monster!" Sasuke watched Sakura's body fall to the floor... she was shaking again; her cry was now soft and broken. "You will never understand the kind of life I lived, the life I'm living now, and the life I'm hoping to live... Something as little as telling a white lie can be easily brushed off your shoulder, but for me? I just lied about my love in front of the guy I've fallen so hard for... to look into his eyes and tell him that I don't have any feelings for him. The pain of telling someone that you don't love them when you really do is nothing you will ever understand...As pathetic and desperate as it sounds...I really wanted Naruto to kiss me..." she laughed a sad laugh and kept to herself... "I really, really wanted that kiss..." Sakura laid on the ground her cries were weak...
Sasuke's legs gave off as he listened to her words... The trail of blood dripped down the side of his face. Sasuke swallowed hard and stared blankly into space. Sakura was serious about Naruto... none of it was a light hearted love either...Why was it bothering him so much? She obviously knows that Naruto doesn't like her back, and what's the big deal? So she told him she doesn't like him- love him. She loves him...She lied about loving Naruto in front of him. How painful can that be to say that?
"I..." he whispered a faint whisper he was sure Sakura wouldn't hear, Sasuke's mouth went dry. His heart was beating like crazy; it felt like someone kicked all the air out of him. He watched Sakura's body curl. She was probably asleep now. A flash of blood dripped down his forehead as he quickly wiped it off. Sasuke shakily got to his feet and dragged them over to her. He looked down to see she was asleep, the bruise from earlier was getting darker and swelling up half the side of her face.
Sasuke picked her up and placed her on the bed... He took off her glasses and gently grazed her cheek; she winced in her sleep from the pain, but didn't wake up. Sasuke got to his knees again as he continue tracing her features little by little ignoring the droplets of blood that was racing down his neck. He stared at her...her succulent skin was glowing from the moonlight that was peeking through the window. Her ivory skin looked almost sweet enough to eat... Sakura's tears kept coming which meant she was probably still thinking of Naruto...
A monster. So...she sees me as a monster huh...
"I..." he paused again, "I don't love you..." he whispered harshly through his breath as he knelt forward, his bloody forehead against her warm one. Sasuke closed his eyes and tilted her chin up. He cupped her face firm yet gently, "I'm sorry I'm not Naruto..." Sasuke's voice was so soft and broken he couldn't recognize it himself... He took in a deep breath and pressed his lips against hers, faintly... His heart stopped beating for a bit, when he felt Sakura faintly kiss him back. Sasuke's eyes shot open and he didn't breathe instead, Sasuke pressed his lips harder against hers, "I don't love you" he repeated. Before Sasuke knew it he was crying... there was no emotion on his face, just tears tracing his nose and jaw line, "I don't...love...you..." He took in a deep breath and turned away from her.
Sasuke closed the door behind him and slid down against the door, he pressed his forearm over his face and took in a deep breath, something deep down inside was bothering him. It was eating him little by little, he felt like throwing up. Sakura's lips tasted like heaven...soft, with the faint smell of strawberry lip balm. "Yeah... he dug his nails deep into his chest trying to calm his aching heart, "that wasn't hard at all... What have you done to me?"
Sasuke fell asleep soon after, the pain from fighting Naruto earlier kicked in, as well as the gnawing headache he was getting from the deep cut on his forehead. Sasuke shifted a little towards the wall and leaned against it, with no amount of effort to get to his bed.
He was numb...
"Hmmm I wonder what my fiancé would like for dinner tonight. Do doctors like ramen?!" Little Naruto was talking to himself, when Sasuke suddenly walked away from the tree in front of Naruto's way.
HIs hands were in his pockets holding something...he fiddled with it in his pocket as he smirked at Naruto.
"You have a fiancé? Hn, who is it? That girl with the white eyes?" Sasuke laughed.
"No! And I'm not telling you, she's a secret" Naruto protested.
Sasuke eyed him, just as he stepped closer to Naruto a familiar scent engulfed his senses. 'Gasp! ...that-that smell...it smells like...'
Sasuke's head lowered and he was no longer looking at Naruto but at the floor. Sasuke was angry...
"Hey, were you by her again?" Sasuke suddenly looked up to see Naruto's face gone red.
"Sh-shut up who cares if I was? She's my best friend! I...I love her! And there's nothing you can do about it!" Naruto tried to walk off but stopped when he heard Sasuke's voice again. "Don't go near her..." little Sasuke growled. Naruto turned around and glared at him "shut up Sasuke I can stay near whomever I want!"
"I said to stay away from her!" Sasuke suddenly yelled as he pushed Naruto to the floor.
Naruto got up and pushed him back just has hard, "Make me! I dare you!"
"Grrrrrrr...I'm warning you!" Sasuke's pulse was rising, he hated Naruto more than ever.
"No, I'm warning you ...you don't know who you're messing with; she told me she's going to marry me so I think you should be the one to back off."
Sasuke was stunned; he stared blankly at Naruto... "Marry...you... didn't I...I thought I told her I..." Sasuke was breathing heavily.
"Yeah, and guess what? She said she loves me ba-!" Sasuke's fist connected to Naruto's jaw causing Naruto to fall to the floor again.
"She's...she's never going to marry you. You DOBE" Naruto's eyes widened as he got up and punched Sasuke back just as hard.
"Oh yeah ?! Then who is she going to marry? You? Huh you TEME!"
"Hn, I might as well, I already ki.." Sasuke gave Naruto a smug smirk causing Naruto's face with anger.
"You...you what?"
Sasuke turned away from him and took out something from his pocket, he stared down at it and clenched it in his hands "Kiss..."
Naruto gasped, Sasuke turned halfway that smirk still on his face, "since I did that then it means she's mine so give up!"
"You... WHAT?!"
"That's right Dobe...I ki-"
Bam!
Another punch to Sasuke's face but Naruto didn't stop with one; no Naruto began throwing one punch after another.
"It doesn't matter if you did, I still love her!" They pulled away from each other huffing and puffing, the 3 year olds can only handle so much pain.
"You can't love something that doesn't belong to you!"
"How can she be yours if she said yes to me already? Teme! It's not fair!"
Sasuke's faced paled out as he thought of her and Naruto together, the girl of his dreams with his mortal enemy...
"No...She's mine" he growled, "She's MINE!"
Sasuke ran at Naruto as Naruto ran towards him and the two fought until they could no longer move. Iruka sensei called people to help him pull the two apart. Sasuke glared at Naruto he hated him. He hates Naruto more than ever; nothing in this world was going to stop him from hating him. 'She's mine...only mine...I promised her already...I don't want to share her...'
"I don't want to share her..." Sasuke mumbled in his sleep, he shifted around but woke up to the sound of his phone. Sasuke's eyes lazily opened, it was 3 am. It was too early...
"Shit, my head..." he touched his forehead and sucked in his teeth when he felt the sting pound against his forehead. The wound has given him a massive headache; he ruffled his hair to see that he was sweating, a lot...
Sasuke sat up and took a deep breath in, he was still in the hallway but this time there was a blanket over his legs. He gasped and looked at her door...did she..?...Sasuke's head was hurting a lot. He pressed his hands against the side of his head to calm the pain and take in deep breaths...That dream... it was a little like the fight I had with dobe... did...did that really happen? Who were we talking about?
"Ahh...shit" Sasuke got up and took off his shirt. He walked slowly into his bedroom "screw it, my mind's just fucking with me today." he plopped onto his bed and looked at the empty spot near him. He touched the cold pillow and licked his lips...she was delicious.....Sasuke's hand went up and he smashed it against his head to bring him back to reality. "I shouldn't have done that. Fuck why did I do that?!" he groaned and closed his eyes. He pressed a pillow against his face; blood was rising to his cheeks he felt like a complete idiot.
"She's driving me nuts..." he moaned into the pillow...his heart was beating rapidly again, he felt dizzy from the lack of air. The frustration and heartache was killing him. Sasuke sat up again, unable to sleep...
He looked to the side of his empty bed and narrowed his eyes in thought of Sakura; I'd rather be a monster than a murderer any day...
Sasuke touched his lips again...and blush a deeper red as he sighed deeply; "fuck!" he ruffled his hair and growled out loud, "I hate you Sakura, I. Hate. you"
"Kiss- he..." Sakura poked her lips, as she stared off into space, her crystal like tears sparkled from the midnight glow of the moon. Sasuke kissed...me...
But...but why?
She licked her lips, the taste of mint and salty tears were still lingering on her lips...She was stunned. She didn't know what to think, what to do, or anything. My first kiss ...he.
She was chanting the same words in her head again. Sakura's face was a glowing bright red, she felt dizzy, almost intoxicated. Her heart beat was in sync with her rising pulse, this was madness.
She sat up and stared back at the door wondering if Sasuke was still asleep outside.
Why did he kiss me then tells me doesn't love me?" Gah! So confusing!" she screamed as she pushed her cheeks against each other, but then hissed from pain, her mother's slap bruised her whole face.
Sakura ran her fingers through her hair, she was in no right state of mind now.
I-I shouldn't be blushing. Sasuke means nothing to me! ...anymore...I don't like him, I will never like him! A simple kiss like that would've sent me to heaven if I was younger... You're 6 years too late Sasuke!
"He rejected you long ago Sakura, he humiliated you in front of everyone. I will never forget that day, ever!" no matter what she did she still blushed..."ahh...but still" her face and neck were on fire now... "Ugh...talk about giving me nightmares...UGH! this is so annoyinggggg I bet he did that on purpose to piss me off during the night!" .that...that's it!...this wasn't a real kiss...Sasuke would never kiss me...he just did it to keep me up for throwing my alarm clock at him...this is a joke for him, just like everything else. Never in a million years would Sasuke ki...kiss me...let alone like me!
Sakura moaned as she pressed her legs against her chest, and hugged herself tight; Sakura pressed her face against her knees and sighed deeply. "Indeed Sasuke Uchiha you are one frightening monster..."... yeah...it was just to get revenge...after all, a monster's going to do what he does best. More importantly... why did I kiss him back?! "Sakura you idiot, idiot, IDIOT!" She punched her head as she blushed a deeper red in reminisce of how moist and minty Sasuke's soft lips were against her own... Sakura continued to beat herself up over the fact that maybe just maybe...she wouldn't have minded if he kissed her again...OH MY GOD WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?! GRRRR...THIS IS ALL HIS FAULT!
She puffed her cheeks, "my first kiss... my first kiss was stolen by a monster..." sniff sniff "I...I ...hate you Sasuke! I hate you!"
Ugh, I cannot believe Sasuke left me like this! Karin was wondering the night streets with her arms crossed trying to get a cab. It was 3am and she was stuck in Northern Konoha still wondering the downtown streets. Karin was scared out of her mind. Normally she wouldn't mind seeing one or two guys during the night, but tonight she had to get home. Her mother was in the middle of fighting with her dad. "Ugh I fucking hate Sakura! It's all that bitches fault! Ughhhhhhhh! I wanna go ho-"
"Hey red, you gawt ny cashhhh?"
Karin looked back to see a white haired guy with a hoodie on smile down at her. She couldn't see his face, the only thing noticeable about him was the little shark tooth glimmer when he smiled.
"Ex-excuse me?"
The boy chuckled as he swigged his bottle of vodka in his hands, his arm went around her shoulder and he leaned into her.
Karin still couldn't make out of who this guy was but he reeked of alcohol.
Karin moved back but he leaned in closer and licked her face. Karin pushed him back but he leaned in "hey...heh.." he giggled, "you're..really really..."he pressed his forehead against hers and narrowed his eyes and whispered, "really...UGLY..Aha...ahahahaha...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"ehh?!" Karin pushed him back as the boy fell to the floor, stumbling over his own foot as he dropped his bottle and clenched his stomach, "hahahhahahaha you're the ugliest thing I've ever seen hahahaha!"
Karin gasped as she turned around, "ugh the nerve!"
"ahahahahha hey UGLY!" he followed her but Karin ignored him, "hey wait ugly come here!"
Karin sharply turned and glared at him, "what?!" she shrieked.
He cleared his throat and looked at her, "tell me something... since you're so ugly...you must get it from the back right?"
Karin furrowed her eyebrows, "what? What the fuck are you talking about you drunk fuck-tard?!"
"you know..." his shark tooth shined in the light again as he chuckled as he lifted his eyebrows in a flirty fashion. Karin stared at him, he had bleached blue and white hair, and he was quite tall, his build was lean, and he had a very smug smirk on his face...he actually looked...good. Before she knew it...Karin blushed for the first time in her life...
"Thet way while he fucks yew, he duzzen't haveta lewk at yur face ahahahahahahaha ugggglyyyyyyy-ah!"
Karin pushed him away but he pulled her in and smacked his lips against hers.
At first Karin gasped when she felt a slight tickle in her stomach by the random kiss but it brushed off when the boy pushed away.
"Hahaha...hey let meh tell yew sumffin...that kiss wuz..so...urk...blehhhhhhhhhh"
The boy hunched over and threw up all over her Gucci heels.
"Oh my..." She growled unable to say anything further...the puke splattered against her legs and a little on her dress as she screamed loud enough for the whole town to hear.
The boy looked up and smiled, "dat kiss wuz disgustinnn heh...you'd kiss nyone wuldn't yew ...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-mbbbb-blehhh" he knelt down and began to throw up again, as Karin stood there stunned and disgusted.
The boy looked back up but before he had the chance to say anything further Karin smacked him across his face and he sat there on the floor staring back at the ugly redhead who stepped into the cab. He saluted her as the cab drove away.
He waited till the cab was long gone until Suigetsu took in a deep breath and got to his feet. He staggered near the edge of the front entrance of the hotel and smirked as other people glared at him. Suigetsu opened the plastic bag near the front door and took out the bottled water he took a swig and cleaned out his mouth before popping in a few breath mints into his mouth. The white haired actor couldn't help but smirk as he remembered the look on the girl's face, "hmm so that's what Sakura Haruno's sister looks like..pfft... I've seen better" he chuckled to himself as he got up and stretched, a smirk was still glued to his face, Sakura Haruno..consider us even...haha.. "hn, that was fun. I should act drunk more often."
