Chapter 26:
It's 2:00a.m and Sasuke was still wide awake. He has been replaying that phone conversation in his head over and over. Sasuke found himself smirking at the thought of her pouting at him while he bossed her around. Sasuke sat up and walked over to his suitcase, he checked the pockets for something when suddenly heard the sound of paper crumbling. Sasuke realized he had brought Sakura's dairy papers with him. Suddenly his heart started racing. He licked his lips and pulled out the 2 sheets of paper from the luggage. Sasuke looked down at it and looked back at Karin.
He didn't want her to annoy him while he read this...Sasuke walked over to the sofa and laid down whilst gripping onto the two sheets of paper. He turned on his phone and used the flashlight as a guide to help him read. Sasuke felt nervous for some reason...he wasn't sure what to expect but he was just dying to know what she wrote... Sasuke cleared his throat and took a deep breath and began to read..
Dear Kokoro, today I saw Sasuke for the first time since school started. He's grown taller over the summer break! I saw him walking into the class with Iruka sensei following behind him. I couldn't help but squeal at the sight of him he was so cute! 3! I wish he'd notice me...
Sasuke smirked as he read those words... 'so she really did like me' Sasuke thought confidently as he continued to read on.
I'm sitting alone under the tree again...so many memories in this place. Every time I come here I remember the very first day I met him o/o. It makes me laugh at the thought of how he wanted me to be his wife.
"Wife?...what..." Sasuke furrowed his brows as his heart began to hammer even harder against his chest.
I still have the ring he gave me...sometimes I wish he'd just stop avoiding me and come talk to me. I know I shouldn't be shy and try talking myself but I just can't help it! :( He makes me so nervous :'(. But I still love him, and even now I still consider myself his sweet, perfect..wife...
"no...no no no what is she talking about?" Sasuke's mind began racing in all different kinds of directions.. the memory of his dream came haunting back to him. "Don't tell me it actually happened.." he whispered harshly to himself. 'It couldn't have happened...it was a dream...if it was a memory then... Sasuke's head began to pound. He was confused as he looked down at the paper and continued reading.
I'm outside for P.E now and I swear I saw him looking at me! eeep! :)) I can't stop smiling, I saw him glance over a few times. I stole a few looks towards him as well, and when he caught me he just smirked! I wonder if he still remembers?... Sasuke I wish you would just come and talk to me. I love you Sasuke! I really love you! Thank you for finding me that day at our special tree. You made me feel beautiful that day even though you left me confused. Since then I waited and waited for you to come back just to prove I wasn't dreaming. I hate coming to school because all the kids bully me. The only thing I look forward to is seeing you everyday. You make me so happy! I hope one day we really do get married. I will take care of you I promise! :)
Sasuke was quiet.. he blankly stared at the words before him.. His heart was racing and he couldn't breathe. For some reason, Sasuke grew...angry.. He crumpled up the paper and threw it on the ground. Sasuke covered his face with his hands and sighed. His heart was pounding, his mind was racing; he was a mess. At this point, he didn't know what to think.
'..If that dream was actually a memory then that means I...I actually loved...Saku-NO.' He couldn't finish the last bit of his thoughts, it just didn't make sense. He doesn't remember anything! It didn't make sense one bit!
'And if that were true then that means something must've happened between us to have her suddenly stop liking me and start liking Naruto...but when? why? HOW? How did she have the sudden change of heart from me..to ...him...it just doesn't add up! What did I do to her?...'
Sasuke's eyes were slowly closing, sleep has finally taken over. He ruffled his hair and laid down again and put his phone next to him. He gave the crumpled papers one last look and grabbed them off the ground. He did his best to smooth out the sheets of paper. Sasuke folded the two papers and shoved them in his pockets. He decided it was best to keep them after all.
Beach House: 2pm
Today was the day Karin has been anticipating for since the start of the year. Her 17th birthday. 'Finally, it's finally here!' She mentally cheered as she put on the last bit of her waterproof makeup and grabbed her beach bag. Today was her day, and she was going to enjoy it no matter what. Karin slipped in a few of the birth control pills she was taking and snagged 2 condoms in her purse just in case Sasuke decided to give her the second half of her present. She smiled wickedly as she lead the girls out of the house and walked towards the shore.
The girls set up the picnic blanket and beach towels to sun bathe a bit while the guys ran into the water. Karin pulled out her bottle of sunscreen and hollered at Sasuke, "yoohoo Sasukeeee can you help meee?". Karin smiled at Sasuke but he didn't even notice her calling out to him. "Saaaaaasuuuuuuukee!" she screamed louder and told him to come over. Sasuke then looked over at her and began walking towards her. Karin laid down and closed her eyes and smiled from ear to ear when she felt a shadow over her.
"hehe the sunscreen is right there Sasuke!" She knew Sasuke wasn't going to answer her back so she continued talking about how surprised she was by the girls giving her a birthday breakfast. Suddenly she felt two hands begin rubbing down her back. Karin softly moaned, "mmm Sasuke that feels so good hehe" She started giggling as the two hands began to smother her even more.
"Hey Sasuke...I was wondering, after our visit from the club maybe we can just ditch the guys and you know...you can give me my real birthday present what do you say?.."
Karin smiled as she waited for Sasuke to reply...but Sasuke remained silent She was just about to turn around when she felt his strong hands hold her down and his presence lowered towards her.
"I'm not Sasuke, but I'll gladly give you a birthday present you wouldn't forget, as long as you cover that ugly face of yours.." He whispered into her ear. Karin's eyes shot open and she swiftly turned around to see that silver haired bum smirking down at her. She quickly sat up and pushed him away.
"Y-Y-YOU!" she growled.
Suigetsu sat back and began to laugh, he held his belly and rolled in the sand as she glared at him.
"STAY AWAY FROM ME YOU FUCKING STALKER!"
Suigetsu suddenly stopped laughing and shot her an eyebrow, "me...stalking...you?" he pointed at her and then stayed silent for a minute.
"...heh...hehe...hehehe..HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" Suigetsu began laughing harder than before as he began punching the ground. "OH GOD MY STOMACH! AHAHAHAHAAH STALKING YOU HAHAHAHAHA!"
Karin crossed her arms and gave him the most deadliest glare she can muster up.
"OF COURSE YOU'RE STALKING ME! WHY ELSE WOULD YOU BE HERE?!" She angrily protested making him laugh harder.
"Did you come here for your monthly shower street rat?" she sneered and laughed at her own comment, but quickly stopped when Suigetsu joined her.
"HAHAHAHAHA yeah I did, I'm too poor to pay for my water bill so I come here for baths, lucky for me, I've got to witness a sea monster wash up on the shore as well"
She gawked at him, "Why don't you find someone else to piss off you fucking douche!"
"Why would I want to bother innocent people when I can bother someone who deserves it?" He smirked at the sudden change her face made, "Deserves it?! What the HELL are you talking about you don't even know me! Now piss off before I tell my boyfriend!"
"you mean your sister's husband?"
Karin's eyes widened at his sudden words... "wha...what the..how did you..."
Suigetsu saw the look on her face and began laughing again showing off his pearly white shark tooth.
Karin reddened and began to growl at him when he suddenly stopped laughing again and clenched his stomach.
"ugh! my..my stomach.." he whimpered as he staggered around. Karin stepped back and moved away from him.
"mmm my stomach hurts again...Oh mommy" he bit down on his lip and staggered around towards Karin as she started walking backwards.
"EWWWWWW KEEP AWAY FROM ME YOU FREAK"
"OHHHHH THE PAIN" he moaned as he jaggedly walked fast towards her. Karin began walking backwards faster as the silver haired freak continued walking towards her.
"I said to stay away from me, I'm going to call the cops on you! Sas-mmmm" Suigetsu moved his other hand against her mouth and continued moaning, "ohhhhh my stomach I think im going to-" He began gagging in front of Karin and Karin pushed him away earning hateful glares from other people.
"ohhhhhh why did you do that" he was gagging and coughing louder as making Karin cringe when he suddenly grabbed onto her leg.
Karin was trying to kick him off as he gagged louder, "grandma pleaseee help me grandma!"
Karin angrily shook her leg and kicked him away, "I'm not your grandma, leave me alone! SASUKE HELP ME!" Karin began running off as Suigetsu staggered near her clenching his stomach. He grabbed her by the shoulder and spun her around, "Hey gra-oh think I'm gonna puke-ahhhhh" He knelt down and Karin exploded with a shrilling scream when a wet substance splashed her body. She tried to squirm away but he was holding her firmly as he gagged, Karin was clenching her eyes as tightly as possible and began to cry, her legs gave out by the sudden shock and fell to the floor. She was crying loudly until she heard him chuckle again.
"you threw up on me again you-"
"Soda"
"huh?" Karin opened her eyes to see Suigetsu drinking down a can of Cola.
"I said I spilled soda on you" he smirked as she suddenly looked down at herself and smelled the cola all over her. She angrily looked up at him, "You mean! I-you.-AHHHHHHHH!" She pounced at him but Suigetsu pushed her away by a simple push to her forehead sending her back to the ground. He knelt down and leaned over her.
"You better pay up rat! Do you have any idea how much this bathing suit costs huh?!"
Suigetsu continued to smirk at her as he moved closer.
"WELL?! Take responsibility!"
"Fine, no worries I'll make it brand new" he whispered as he leaned forward and gently poked the nape of her neck with his tongue. Karin felt a shock of electricity run down her spine and squeezed her eyes shut. She felt his warm tongue move from her skin and waited for him to do something else when she heard a sudden click followed by a flash of light.
Her eyes shot wide open to see Suigetsu holding a phone out. He began laughing at her as he placed the phone in his pocket, "thanks for the pics" he chuckled and she was too shocked to move...he had just made a fool of her again and she couldn't do anything.
"Now one more stupid move against me and the internet will gladly see what your horny face looks like hahahaha" he winked at her and knelt in front of her again, "but don't worry I'll take care of your bathing suit for you." he knelt forward and in one swift motion he slipped it off and began running off waving her top like a flag.
"THANKS FOR THE SOUVENIR A-CUP!"
Karin was too shocked by the sudden closeness of him she didn't even notice what he was doing until she looked down to see she was bare...she gasped and then screamed to the top of her lungs, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" She covered her chest and looked around in all ways as she began to earn disgusted looks from other girls.
"SASUKE!" She looked around and Sasuke was no where to be found. Covering her chest she began running back towards the house and kept a mental note to call the cops. She heard Ino call from behind her but ignored her completely.
"That fucking bastard! If he thinks he can get away with assaulting me then he has another thing coming!" She angrily hissed as she walked back to her room and looked through her clothes
"Ugh just wait till I get back there and call the cops to-"
"to what?" she heard a familiar voice call out. Karin sharply turned towards the voice as he sat on the ledge of the window with her bikini top tied to his head.
"to tell them I harassed you?"
"yes! Now get out before I report you for trespassing as well!"
Suigetsu smirked as he jumped inside the house, "Am I suppose to be scared?"
She crossed her arms and glared at him, "you should be!"
He stepped closer and looked down at her chest, she looked down then back at him and smirked, "like what you see?" she asked with a smug look on her face earning another sexy grin from the silver haired shark.
"pfffffft as if, I've been a better stack on barbie dolls A-cup"
She gasped and glared at him, "Why can't you just admit you're stalking me so I can go tell the cops!"
Suigetsu laughed and turned towards the window, "Okay you can tell the cops I stalked, and harassed you, and I can tell the cops a fun little fact about you as well"
"What are you-"
"You almost killed your sister when you were younger"
Karin froze in place...she's never heard anyone say it out loud..
"Where did you-"
"You're also jealous of the fact that she's prettier than you...isn't that the reason why you wanted to hurt her in the first place?"
"SHUT UP! You don't know anything about me or my sister-wait...how do you know...SAKURA PUT YOU UP TO THIS DIDN'T SHE!?" 'I knew it! I knew that bitch was out to get me!"
Suigetsu began laughing again, "oh no no no, I don't do any favors for anyone but myself...she doesn't know me, but I sure as Hell know you, her, and what your little boyfriend thinks of her or should I say...what her husband thinks of her..." he chuckled as he sat back on the window beam.
"I'd be careful if I were you little Red...your little bubble will soon pop, and mmh-mmh-mmh I'm interested to see what kind of face you make when it does...hahahahaha"
She glared at him and stepped closer to him, "Why are you doing this to me?! Who are you?!"
Suigetsu locked his eyes with her for a good minute and watched her trap herself in his piercing gaze.
"I'm just a Shark who likes collecting fish little Red"
She shot him an eyebrow earning another devilish smirk from him, "Hn, I collect fish, and when I see a fish I like..." he got down and stepped towards her until they were an inch apart, "I eat it...! " he whispered. Karin's breath hitched up as he smirked down at her.
"What does that even mean..."
"Oh you'll see.." he chuckled and jumped onto the beam again and looked back at her, "You'll...see...now go swim along red fishy, I'm not ready to buy you yet, see you around'' and with that final statement he jumped out the house with her bikini top still tied to his head.
Fuming, Karin grunted and headed for the shower before getting ready.
'That asshole just ruined my afternoon! OH SCREW HIM! He's probably one of those poor drug addicts that like to stalk rich girls until they pay him to leave them alone! Ugh, low life jerk!' Karin angrily thought to herself as she ran back to the beach to gather the guys and get ready for night out. She wasn't going to let some creep ruin her special day!
Home:4pm
Sakura smiled as she finished vacuuming when she randomly glanced at her calendar. Sakura's eyes widened at the date and she did a double take, today was...
"M-m-my birthday, it's my birthday! WHAT?!" She flipped the calendar and grabbed her phone to check the date. It really was her birthday...
"It's my birthday!" Sakura suddenly came to realization that she's never really had time or money to celebrate her birthday. She ran over to her box and pulled out the envelope containing the little money she had to spare. She folded the the cash into her back pocket and decided she'll cook something extra special for herself today.
After a little shopping, Sakura came home with a bag full of groceries. She set everything to the kitchen and began unloading.
'I can't wait to eat eeeeeep!' Sakura was going to bake herself a delicious cake and dinner for her special day. She took out her recipe book and flipped the pages to look for her chocolate lover's cake recipe when she heard the doorbell ring.
"Eh? Now...who could that be..." She wiped her hands on her apron and walked over the door. She glanced out the window to see it was Kakashi sensei standing at her doorstep.
'Why is he here?...' She wondered as she opened the door to come face to face with her masked teacher.
"Ah Kakashi sensei...err...good afternoon sensei..um can I help you with anything? Um would you like to come in?..." she asked awkwardly.
"Ahem" Kakashi cleared his throat and scratched the back of his head, " No thanks...uh good afternoon Sakura..I uh..I was just reflecting on the ways of life when I realized somehow oh...whatever" Kakashi shoves a bag in front of her face and clears his throat again, "Ahem um.. Happy Birthday Sakura"
"Oh..Kakashi sensei.." she looks up at him and then back at the bag and starts to laugh, "hahaha sensei...what is this..."
"A present" he replied, Sakura sensed a smile under his mask and laughed again, she felt tears brimming her eyes.
"Why did you go through the trouble of getting me something, you didn't have to buy me anything sensei...wishing me a happy birthday is enough."
"nonsense Sakura...I spent quite some time picking this out..I'm not really good at this stuff so..I'm frankly a bit nervous."
She laughed again, "Sensei I'll love anything you give me...oh but..." she bit her lip, she's hasn't received a birthday present in so long it felt awkward accepting it.
"Come on Sakura..please take it"
Sakura hesitantly took the bag "Whoa it's heavy" she gasped as she slowly placed the bag on the floor. She smiled as she looked inside, "what is it and why is it so heavy?"
Kakashi placed his hands in his pockets and smiled down at her.
"You'll see" he chuckled as he watched her look inside the box to see a bunch of other boxes.
"So many.. little boxes" She smiled as she pulled one of them out and unwrapped it revealing a makeup palette.
"eye shadow..." she looked further in the bag to see it was filled with different eyeliners BB creams, blush, a few facial cleansers, nail polish, masks and others. Sakura covered her mouth she was shocked, "Kakashi sensei...I.."
"I didn't know what to get you so I sort of...got you everything" he laughed, "girls your age like this stuff right?"
Sakura blinked and stared at a flustered Kakashi sensei for a minute before she started laughing.
"hahahahahahaha Oh my God, hahahhaha Kakashi sensei HAHAHAHAHA" she was holding her belly and Kakashi bowed his head in defeat.
'I knew I should've bought her a special edition copy of Make Out Paradise with the nice shiny hardcover' Kakashi sulked in his own defeat when he felt to little arms wrap around him.
"Thank you so much! I love it!" She squealed, "I really really love it, thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Kakashi was taken back by Sakura's sudden display of affection he felt warm tears against his shirt and the burning sensation in the pit of his stomach but ignored it all completely as he rested his hand on her head.
Sakura hesitantly took off her glasses and wiped her eyes, "This-this is the best thing ever, I will take great care of the things you gave me, you did-didn't have to" she sniffed.
Kakashi chuckled and patted her head again, "you deserve so much more Sakura"
She smiled and insisted he came in for some tea but Kakashi told her he had errands to run.
He smiled down at her again and pulled something from his shirt pocket and placed it in her hand, "personally, I like this product the best"
Sakura looked down at her hands to see a lip gloss placed in her palms.
"It's the only thing...I picked out on my own, the sales girls picked out the rest because I didn't know what else to buy"
Sakura laughed as she gripped it in her hand, "I'll wear it proudly sensei, thank you-"
"-Sakura" Kakashi said cutting her off, "I want you to know..there's a reason why I decided to buy you this kind of present..."
Sakura stayed quiet as he stepped closer and looked down at her, "I need to you realize that you are special. You're older now, and ... I hope one day you'll realize that you don't need to hide behind those glasses, and you won't need to hide behind the makeup...do you understand what I'm saying Sakura?"
Sakura nodded, "yes sensei...but"
"no buts, don't deny it, just embrace it, got it?"
Sakura looked up at the tall figure and smiled brightly, "got it! thank you Kakashi sensei"
"You're very welcome.." Kakashi stepped closer and hugged her tightly, taking Sakura completely by surprise. He gave her a tight squeeze and stepped back, and handed her one last thing and headed off, "That's from Tsunade-she didn't tell me what it was, or what it's about. She wanted me to let you know she was sorry for not handing it to you herself, but she hopes you visit her soon."
Sakura looked down at the envelope with great interest and nodded without looking up at her sensei. "Thank you so much"
Kakashi began to walk off and Sakura bid him goodbye, she quickly closed the door grabbed her bag of goodies and ran into the living room.
She smiles at all the little boxes and the at the envelope. Sakura tears it open and looks inside to see a few pieces of paper a booklet, and a brochure. "Hm? What's this?..."
Sakura pulled out the entire thing and glanced at it, she looked to see the first paper was a letter from Tsunade she immediately began to read it out loud, "Dear Sakura...Happy 17th Birthday baby girl.." Sakura smiled from ear to ear as she continued reading, "I'm heading to the operation room to perform a critical heart surgery on a patient that's why I'm writing this letter to you in advance. I'm sure once you look at what I gave you, you'll understand everything, in the mean time- enjoy the little piece I placed inside the package...The necklace is very dear to my heart, and I wish for you to wear it. Enjoy your special day and stop being such a wallflower. Rise and shine my angel, look like a beauty and fight like a beast baby girl...love Mommy"
Sakura laughed and kissed the letter as she looked inside the small pocket and took out the beautiful crystal necklace. Sakura stared at the beautiful necklace and twirled it around. She gasped at it's beauty she carefully put it on and looked down at both her necklaces... Both necklaces from two special people. Sakura looked down at the rest of the papers and began to read to herself again, "Dear Sakura... we have been contacted by your guardian and mentor .." 'Kakashi sensei?' she thought to herself and continued to read, "hm..umm..."
'Due to your outstanding grades, we here at Suna Light High school would like to invite you to attend our school...' Sakura's eyes widened...her heart began racing, "Top leading girl's school Nation wide..." she continued reading... "F-f-full...scholarsh-shi-ship..." She jumped to her feet and moved the paper closer to her face, "FULL SCHOLARSHIP?! OH MY-okay okay, breathe Sakura breathe girl" She closed her eyes and took a deep breath; in and out and finished reading, "including housing, and extra money for living and personal fees...providing guides to our exclusive medical program for University...please contact us soon, we'll be waiting to hear from you..."
Sakura fell to the floor and started down at the letter... "Full..scholarship...hehh hehehehehehehehehe WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!" She jumped up and began dancing, "FULL SCHOLARSHIP, FULL SCHOLARSHIP! THIS IS THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!" She threw the papers in the air and continued dancing to her own happy beat, she couldn't imagine her birthday getting any better.
Beach House: 8:00p.m
The gang was driving back home from their birthday dinner for Karin. Karin was sitting in the back with the girls as they talked about dessert and all the gifts she received throughout the day.
"Thank you guys so much" Karin sighed as she leaned back, "this was the best day ever, I love you guys!"
"awww we love you too Karinn" Hinata squealed as they huddled together for a group hug.
"So where are we going?" She asked Sasuke who was pulling to the curb to park.
He looked back and smirked at her, "you'll see."
Karin beamed at his smile, it's been so long since Sasuke smiled at her. She pecked his cheek after they parked and waited for the rest of the guys to park their cars. Kiba elbowed Sasuke to escort Karin as they walked further towards the house.
"What's going on?" Karin asked excitedly, as she turned faced forward to see a mass of people waiting for her.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARIN!" Everyone cheered catching Karin completely by surprise as everyone cheered and began to clap.
"OH MY GOD!" she screamed as her parents walked over to her and placed a crown on her head and flowers in her hand. She was tearing up as she hugged her mom and dad tightly.
"Mommy, Daddy what are you doing here...Oh my..."
"Happy birthday angel!" Her mother squealed as she hugged her and kissed her all over her face.
"Thank you!"
"Happy birthday Karin" her dad hugged her and she squeezed her dad tightly, "Thank you so much Daddy..."
All the guests began to walk over and wish her a happy birthday when suddenly her mother took her hand and walked her over to the middle of the room.
"Wait, Sasuke!" Karin looked back at Sasuke and the gang as they smiled at her. She watched her friends as they looked genuinely happy for her...all except for... Naruto.
Who was looking away, she glared at Naruto angrily until he made contact with her. Naruto glared right back at her and turned away.
'Hmph, asshole, of course you wouldn't be happy for me!' Karin turned away from him and raised her nose in the air. It didn't matter to her, as long as Sasuke was happy for her that's all that mattered.
"EVERYONE I'D LIKE TO HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE" Karin's mother announced loudly causing everyone to quiet down and murmur amongst themselves.
"Thank you, thank you. Now, as you all know today's a very special day for us! Thank you all for keeping it a secret from our princess and making this day extra special for her."
Someone cheered and everyone began clapping as her mother began to talk again, "I know everyone is eager to party on and Karin is eager to get her presents" people chuckled as she went on, "but before we get to that, her father and I would like to be the first to give her something special..."
Karin turned to her parents as her mom smiled down at her, "Karin...we love you so much, we want nothing but the best for you...happy birthday sweetie"
Her dad placed a key in her hand and she gasped as they spun her around towards the 2014 BMW i8.
Karin screamed to the top of her lungs as she ran towards the car, "OH MY GOD" she chanted as she unlocked the car and ran inside. "OH MY GOD I LOVE IT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Karin ran out of the car and ran back to her parents as they hugged her tightly again. Everyone continued clapping until the DJ began playing music. Everyone was pushing Karin to dance with her father first, but Karin insisted on Sasuke being her first dance. The crowd turned towards said boy and watched him as he stood silently. Karin walked over and waited for him to move.
"well...Sasuke?" She smiled brightly at him. Sasuke sighed, he knew his parents were watching him. He looked up to meet his father's eyes...the same eyes mirroring his. It was always so hard reading his father's emotions. He held their stare long enough to see something glint in his father's eyes for the first time...but what was it?
Sadness?... Disappointment?... Shame?...
Sasuke didn't have time to figure out as his father looked away and sipped his drink. He then looked at his mother who didn't even notice him looking her way. Sasuke watched as his mother looked around the room, from side to side. She turned around and sighed before turning towards his dad, a small smile plastered on his face. Sasuke narrowed his eyes as his father whispered something to his mom, she then whispered something back and began looking in all directions again.
Sasuke continued to watch them when Karin snapped her fingers a few times to snap him out of his trance.
"Sasuke?..come on, let's dance"
Sasuke gave her a small stiff nod and the two began gliding around the dance floor, followed by a few of their friends joining them.
'What is she looking for?...' Sasuke wondered...he watched his mother drag his father to another side of the crowd her eyes scanning the whole perimeter.
"So...how long were you guys planning this for me?" Karin asked.
Sasuke was swaying her for side to side, he shook his head and looked at her.
"I was told last night..I had no idea they were planning this" Sasuke replied. He continued to look around when his eyes suddenly locked onto his best friend. Sasuke watched Naruto sip his soda as he stood near the snack table alone.
'Hn?...Where is Hinata?..' Sasuke looked around to see Hinata dancing with Kiba. He raised an eyebrow and turned back towards Naruto only to find him gone. Sasuke looked around to see where he had gone but Karin cupped his face and made him face her again.
"Are you okay? You're spacing out again.."
"Yeah I'm fine"
"Sasuke I was wondering if we can-..."
"Ahem" Sasuke and Karin turned towards the source of the sound to see Karin's dad waiting.
"Evening Sasuke."
"Good Evening Mr. Haruno." They shook hands as Kizashi looked around the room real quick.
"Good party isn't it?"
"Yes sir...the girls did the job well."
Kizashi chuckled as he looked back at Sasuke, "So ...where is she.." he asked Sasuke awkwardly.
Sasuke tilted his slightly confused at his question, "Excuse me?"
"Ah nevermind, haha do you mind if I get the next dance with Karin?" Sasuke handed karin's hand over to Kizashi and nodded.
"Thanks son..and um..thanks for taking care of my daughter"
"Most welcome Sir, but Karin usually takes care of herself." Sasuke joked then nodded towards Kizashi who smiled politely back at him, but the smile didn't reach his eyes, instead a pool of sadness covered the man's facade.
Without thinking further Sasuke walked off to grab a drink when he watched his parents walk towards him.
"Sasukeeeeee!" His mother called out as she waved her arm in the air. Sasuke jogged towards them and hugged his mother tightly.
"Ohhhh Sasuke my babyyyy" his mother squeezed him tightly and kissed him on both cheeks before hugging him again.
"soooo..." she begins as she pokes Sasuke. Sasuke raises his eyebrow at his mother as she starts to giggle like a school girl.
"so..what?"
"whereeee issss she hm? hm?" his mom asks knowingly as she pokes his stomach, "I know you're hiding her somewhere Sasuke come on, tell mommy where she's at."
"um..dancing with her dad?" Sasuke looks back and nods towards Karin and looks back towards his parents.
"Not Karin, Sakura! Where's Sakura?"
Sasuke knits his eyebrows together and gives his mother a confusing look, "She's not here, she's home."
"Oh.." his mother got quiet for a minute before smiling brightly at him again, "Right!" she clasps her hands and smiles at her son again, "of course...well um.."
"Sasuke!" The family looks back to see Karin running over to him. She looks at Sasuke's parents and slightly bows, "Evening Mr. and Mrs. Uchiha!"
"Good evening Karin-chan, oh Happy Birthday" Mikoto hugs her tightly as Fugaku gives her a tight nod before looking down at his son again.
"Oh and this is for you!" Mikoto hands her a present and smiles, " I wasn't sure what to get, but I'm hoping you'll like it."
Karin takes the bag and smiles, "I'm sure I'll love it, oh and I'll take that one too"
Karin reaches for the second bag but Mikoto giggles, "oh no sorry dear this is just a little something I picked up for someone else"
"Oh haha sorry about that"
"no worries sweetie, so where are your parents?"
Sasuke watched his mother grip the little pink bag in her hands tightly. He glanced at Karin who looked down at the bag before looking up at Sasuke to meet his black eyes.
She smiled at him and looked away, '...Does he suspect something?..Does he know it's her birthday too? Does he realize it or remember?.. Ugh I can't have his mom ruining this day for me...'
"Sasuke, come on Choji's going to chug down a platter of appetizers! Let's go watch!" Karin pulled him away from his parent and looked back to see his mother smiling back at her. She looked up at Sasuke and gripped on his arm tightly.
Sasuke sipped his drink as the group laughed and talked amongst themselves, well everyone except for Naruto.
"Hahahaha go Choji go!" everyone cheered. Shikamaru sighed as he leaned back, "Man this is awesome. You girls did a great job, everyone's actually having a good time."
"Hehe yeah it's a good thing we didn't tell you boys" Ten-Ten replied, "It's too bad you missed out on the fun of planning right?"
Everyone laughed as Naruto furthered his distance from everyone.
"Well if we helped then I'm sure Naruto would've messed everything up anyway, right Naruto?" laughed Neji, " Naruto?...Hey..." he looked around, "Where did he go?"
"Dobe." Sasuke called out and everyone turned from right to left.
"Funny...he was just here..." Shikamaru commented.
"Maybe he went to see his parents or something" Karin commented quickly as she glanced back at Naruto's silhouette from the distance, 'Good riddance party pooper! Hmph!'
Naruto sighed as he tucked his hands in his pockets and kicked the sand along the trail before him.
"Stupid Teme..." he muttered, he looked down and continued to kick the sand when he heard a very familiar giggle.
"Kiba-kun it's cold hehehe please stop!" Hinata squealed as Kiba ran behind her pulled her into his arms and spun her around earning a squeal of excitement from the girl. Naruto stood in place as he watched his girlfriend smile at her best friend... the twinkle in her eyes as Kiba spun her around and hugged her tightly.
The two began playing again when they suddenly looked up to meet Naruto's gaze. Hinata's eyes widened at Naruto's presence causing her to look up at Kiba then quickly turn back to Naruto.
"Ah..Na-Naruto...kun...um.."
Naruto raised his hand at her motioning her to stop talking, "Don't...just don't..."
"But Naruto I-"
"I need to make a call" he cut her off with that statement and gave a heartbreaking, sad smile. He pulled out his phone without looking up at the couple. He took a deep breath and began making a run for it. Naruto ran until he was a good distance away from the party and scrolled down his contact list.
He sat down on the sand and waited for the person to pick up...
rrrriiiing...riiiiiiiiing.
"I'm cooooooming phoooooooneeeeeeeee!" Sakura sang as she quickly wiped her hands on her apron and clicked on her phone. She held it between the nape of her neck with her ear against the device, "Hello, Sakura speaking!"
"Happy Birthday...Sakura-chan..."
Sakura's eyes widened at the sound of his voice,..Ba-thump.
"Na-Naruto!" She felt a blush immediately invade her cheeks as she smiled widely at the sound of his voice, "you...remembered..."
Her heart started to dance at the sound of his laugh causing her knees to weaken. She held herself in place against the counter as he continued to chuckle, "of course I remembered...how can I forgot your birthday hm?"
"Haha I don't know... umm.." she bit her lip trying to calm her racing heart, "I just didn't think you-"
"I missed you all day..."
Sakura gasped as Naruto continued to talk, "I wanted to text you right away but I forgot where I left my phone and I didn't want to use anyone else's phone in fear of thinking you might not pick up...I'm so sorry I've waited all day to say it now..."
"Naruto..." she sniffed...touched by his words, "Naruto even you said it tomorrow or next week I would still be happy...thank you...and honestly I um...I missed you too...I really did."
"Did you really?" he asked into the phone as he laid back on the sand.
"hehe of course, I've made all this food and have no one to share it with"
Naruto groaned into the phone, "awwwwwww just thinking about your cooking makes my stomach growl...this place is lame. I regret coming..I wish I stayed back to spend your birthday with you...I'm so sorry for leaving you alone Sakura.." Naruto's heart clenched when he heard silence at the other end of the phone.
"Sakura?.."
"Naruto...you don't need to be sorry you know that...and mmmm well you did leave me alone...I'm not sure if I can forgive you for that"
Naruto quickly sat up in a panic, "Sakura...Sakura-chan..are you serious?..." he moved his hand through his blonde locks and licked his lips, "I swear Sakura I'll make it up! I'm sorry okay? As soon as I come back I'll take you out to any place you want and you can buy whatever you want and we'll do everything your heart desires so please-" Naruto bit down on his tongue at the sound of her laughter.
"hahahaha oh God, Naruto...hahaha it's fine, honestly I was kidding. Of course I forgive you! I would be silly if I didn't, it's fine your friends are all there..why wouldn't you go?" Naruto laid back down and looked up at the sky.
"Honestly...I'd rather be there with you...man I'm an idiot for not being there..."
"Stop beating yourself up, and you're not an idiot...just have fun for me okay?"
He smiled at her words as she continued to talk, "Uh..hey Naruto?"
"Yeah..?"
"Can...can I still hold you up on that promise?"
Naruto smiled even wider and felt heat rise to his neck, " Of course...It's a date."
"HUH?! D..date?" Naruto's eyes widened at his own words, " Uuuuh I mean...bah! Um...I mean like we'll plan a date and um...heh"
"m-mhmm well uh..my cake is cooled down so I'm gonna go"
"Ahh okay...I'll see you as soon as I come home alright?"
"mmkay Naruto...have fun, I'll talk to you soon"
He smiled as she hung up the phone and covered his eyes with his forearms, "Damn Naruto you're an idiot...teh...date ...why did I say it like that? She probably thinks I'm a creep or something..." He rolled from side to side as he moaned again.
Karin smirked as she watched Naruto all flustered up, 'hmmmm interesting...pffffffft I don't even HAVE to plan anything for these two...they're doing it all on their own...HA! Well...at least I know he's interested in her...but ...just how much?'. Karin grinned and walked back towards the party as Naruto continued to lay in the sand alone. She knew it was worth following him...now all she needed was for Hinata and Kiba to get together and things will be moving quickly from then on.

Sakura finally finished her whipped frosting for her cake.
"hmmm let's score..." she dipped her finger into the batter and licked her finger. "It's a winnerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" she squealed as she dipped her finger again and tasted more of the frosting.
"Now to frost this cake...and eat!" She dipped her finger in once more and ate a bit more of the frosting before hearing the doorbell ring.
Ding-dong.
"Eh?..now who could it be...mmm" Sakura wiped her hands on her apron and ran towards the door, "I'm coming!"
Sakura opened the door and smiled, "Hell-...o...uhhh.." Standing before her was a person in a giant white bunny suit. It was holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand and a gift bag in the other. Sakura's eyes widened as she started in awe at the bunny...
"um...hi-ah!" Sakura couldn't finish her greeting as the bunny suddenly dropped the balloons and present to the floor and pulled her in for a super tight hug. Sakura was too surprised to move, she was both shocked and confused as the bunny continued to squeeze her with all it's might.
"umm..." the bunny places both it's hands on her shoulders and sharply pulls her away at arms length.
"Who..who are you..." Sakura stared at the bunny waiting for a reply when it suddenly looks down at her and pulls her in for another hug.
" Excuse me you-you're crushing me"
The bunny pulls away and tilts it's giant head to the side, and gently pulls Sakura towards it. It takes off Sakura's glasses causing Sakura to cover her eyes immediately.
"Ah Hey! please give them back, and who are you?!"
The bunny makes no reply as Sakura feels herself being pulled again and then the craziest thing happens..
Sakura's breath hitches up and her heart slammed against her ribcage the second she felt a pair of soft, smooth lips press against her own.
Sakura's hand moved away from her eyes and her eyes shot open to see the bunny's head was only half way off. Her body was too stiff...her legs felt like jelly and her arms were too numb to move.
"uhhhhhhhh..." She was frozen and in shock as the bunny quickly put it's mask back on...and gently placed the balloons in Sakura's unmoving hands. It placed the bag next to her and turned around and began to walk away.
She was beyond confused. 'Did...did this strange bunny just..kiss...me...' Her face lit up into a scorching red color as her jelly-like legs finally gave out. Sakura covered her mouth as she tried to make sense of what just happened when she watched the bunny casually walk out the door. ' eh?...wait it's-he..HE'S LEAVING' Sakura grabbed her glasses the bunny had dropped and put them back on. She shook her head vigorously and started walking behind the bunny, "Hey wait! WAIT! ANSWER MY QUESTION, WHO ARE YOU?!"
The bunny turned around and stared at her again before turning back around and began walking faster.
"Eh?! hey! stop walking so fast! I have short legs!" Sakura began sprinting, making the bunny run.
"Stop ruuuuunning! WHO ARE YOU!?" She began running with all her might to catch up to the strange bunny, "Come back please!" The bunny ignored her words and continued to run full speed making Sakura groan..'This is the weirdest birthday ever...'
Sakura stopped when she reached the end of the block and began panting. Tiny beads of sweat began forming on her face as she watched the bunny run in full speed. She bent over and placed her hands on her knees as she watched the bunny run until it was too far for her to see.
"Crazy..." pant "bunny..." pant "Kissed..." pant "me.."
Sakura began touched her lips gently recalling the kiss in her mind...his lips were smooth and soft. She found herself smiling again, 'oh what am I thinking?! that's freaking weird!' Sakura giggled as she quickly ran back home and closed the door.
The sudden cold air surprises sakura and she runs back in with her present...She looks down in the bag and pulls out a box..Sakura opens to see its a treasure box. She pulls off the letter on top of the box and begins to read...
Beach House: 9:00 pm
After laying down on the sand for a while Naruto decided he'd head back and start packing, the party was no fun anyway. He knew he should've stayed back and spent it with her... Naruto continued walking down the shore busy in his own pool of thoughts when he heard someone sniffle.
"Huh?" He looked left and right and left again to see a familiar figure sitting at the edge of the shore.
"Ino?..." Naruto walked towards her... She was crying. Ino looked up at Naruto and quickly wiped her eyes.
"Naruto...what are you doing here spying on me."
"Spying?! I wasn't spying on you!" he angrily shouted back, but his expression softened as she wiped her eyes again, "Hey..why are you crying..."
"I'm not crying it's allergies"
"pfffffffffft" Naruto shot her an eyebrow and Ino looked away from his gaze.
"Oh..what do you know anyway?! Leave!"
"MAKE ME!"
Ino got up and angrily glared at him, "I said leave! Go, shoo! Leave me alone!"
"I'll go when I want to!"
"Fine then I'll leave first-!" Ino was about to walk off when Naruto held her back.
"Ino..."
"What..."
"..." Naruto was quiet...he gripped her arm firmly and slowly pulled her back. Somehow Naruto knew why she was feeling this way... "Ino..just call her..."
"Call who? What are you talking about?"
Naruto shook his head disapprovingly at her.. "Come on Ino..you know what I'm talking about..." Ino yanked her arm away and hugged herself. Her heart was clenching...she took in a sharp breath... 'How did he know I was crying about that...'
"I talked to her you know...I called her...she seems happy.."
Ino stayed quiet, she looked down at the sand as tears escaped her eyes.
" I don't know about the other guys...but I like her ...and somewhere along the line I'm sure you do too...Sakura...she's the type that would forgive-"
"I don't know what you're talking about Naruto...I-"
"Don't lie to me Ino...I've had enough of that around here." Ino gasped at Naruto's sudden harsh tone. She sharply turned around and locked eyes with Naruto. He looked hurt, angry and tired.
"Naruto..."
"I don't understand what's so bad about talking to her..."
"Naruto I-"
Naruto took a step towards her, " You know it's funny all you girls do is talk shit behind her back, all you ever did was take sides. I know you like being with her, and I sure as Hell know you fucking miss her, but what I don't know, what I don't understand is why you're so embarrassed to talk to her...is it because of the way she looks?..Because let me tell you this..Sakura's beautiful...heh...look at me talking to someone who doesn't care"
"Naruto shut up and go away!" Ino clenched her fists and glared angrily at Naruto, "You don't know anything about me or her or what I have to do with her!"
Naruto took a step closer until they were about a foot away from each other, "Maybe I don't know the whole picuture..but when you're ready to talk to her...come find me...I'll let her know for you..."
Ino was speechless...she hasn't seen this side of Naruto before. Naruto walked off and looks up to see Sai walking over with two cups of drinks in his hand...
"Naruto"
Naruto puts his hand up and looked down at the floor, "Don't bug me right now...Ino's crying...go comfort her."
Sai grabs his shoulder and turns him around, "What did you do to her?"
"Let go! I didn't do anything to her...she did that to herself" Naruto pulls away from his hold and continues walking towards the party.
He walks by the snack table to grab a drink when Karin calls out to him.
"Hey Naruto!"
Naruto looks back as Karin runs over with Sasuke by her side, "Naruto, I can't find Hinata, I told her I'd wait until you're here so we could eat dinner together...but now I can't find her, can you go look for her please?"
Naruto looked at Karin in search of anything suspicious in her eyes but found nothing. She smiled brightly at him...Naruto nodded and eyed Sasuke who looked up at him with a confused look.
"Yeah...I'll go find her.."
"Great! Thanks! Meet us by the table in the middle, come on Sasuke!" Naruto watched his best friend follow the girl like a lost dog and walked the opposite end. Naruto began looking around and wondered if she had gone back to the house.
"Hinata?" Naruto called out as he stepped inside the house and walked towards the bed...
"Hinata.." He called out again, but just before he called out Naruto heard a series of whispers and shuffles.
Naruto paused as he walked towards the sound...'Hinata?..' Naruto heard the noise coming from the other side of the room.
Naruto was about to knock when he heard two voices from the other side of the room...
"Kiba ...please." Naruto's blue eyes widened in shock..that was Hinata's voice...
"Hinata come on...you're drunk.."
"Hehehe Kiba..."
Naruto angrily kicked the door opened causing the two to scream in shock, "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING...on"
Naruto's body began to shake as he watched his girlfriend and one of his best friends... lay on the bed half naked.
"Naruto I..."
"...what..." He was shaking immensely as the two shuffled around to get their act together..
"You.."
"Naruto man it's not what it-"

Naruto punched Kiba across the face as he lunged at him. Naruto had moved Hinata away as he continued to punch Kiba.
"NARUTO STOP!"
Kiba kicked Naruto making him fly back, "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"
Naruto didn't give him a chance to get up as he lunged at him again and the two began to punch and kick each other.
"Stop! Naruto stop please-KIBA YOU'RE BLEEDING!"
"GET HIM OFF ME!"
"NARUTO GET OFF!"
Naruto continued to beat Kiba senselessly until Shikamaru came running in, "What the Hell is going-Oh shit Naruto!"
Shikamaru grabbed Naruto and began to pull him off as Hinata continued to cry. Soon after a few of the guys came running into the house in panic.
"What's going on-AHHHHHHH! KIBA!" Ten-Ten shrieked as Neji ran to Kiba's side.
Kiba was bleeding from his nose and mouth, "I'm ...fine.." he panted as he glared at Naruto.
Shikamaru held him down as he continued to angrily shake beneath him, "let me go I'm going to Kill him"
"Someone get Sasuke, hurry!"
"I'm here" Sasuke quickly said as he ran to Naruto's side.
"Dobe stop-"
"SHUT UP SASUKE, JUST SHUT UP!"
Sasuke punched him across the face making Naruto stop rambling.
Naruto sighed as he mumbled, "get off me I won't hit him again.."
"Naruto man you-"
"Get off Shika.."
Shikamaru slowly let him go making Naruto get up, he ignored Kiba completely and looked right at Hinata, "you..let's talk."
He grabbed Hinata's hand and dragged her off. Ten-Ten had stopped Neji from following them as the two walked off to the front of the house.
Naruto spun her around to face him as she continued to cry.
"Naruto.."
"Let's break up." He whispered to her...Hinata's eyes grew bigger as tears streamed down her face.
"Wh..Why.."
" The last few months have been nothing but hard for me Hinata. No matter how hard I tried, no matter what I did...I found you always running back to him!"
"Naruto I love y-"
"Don't ...don't lie to me"
Hinata hugged him tightly, "Please believe me...I just go to Kiba whenever you distance yourself from me"
"That's no excuse!" He pushed her away gently, "WHAT KIND OF EXCUSE IS THAT?! THAT'S LIKE TELLING ME I'M ONLY GOOD FOR YOU WHEN I'M AROUND! YOU NEVER FIND ME HINATA!"
"YOU'VE BEEN ACTING WEIRD EVER SINCE SAKURA-CHAN CAME AND-"
Naruto paused... "...Sakura...this...since when did this become about Sakura..."
Hinata continued to cry, "Ever..ever since she came all you did was talk about her...and worry about her and..."
"Heh...funny..."
"hm?.."
"Nothing it's just...since the beginning of this relationship I did all the chasing...and I did all the running, and the swaying and the catching...not once did I ever give up on you. Not once did I give up on trying to be with you...and spend time with you...I ran and ran and ran. I ran after you for years...but not once did I stop...but when the tables finally turned...I found myself still chasing after you...you didn't run after me the way I ran after you...instead you ran the opposite direction to Kiba...yeah..."
Hinata gasped, "Naruto you..and..I-.."
"I think it's best if we don't see each other...I'm done."
"P-please..." Hinata couldn't talk anymore...she began to cry hysterically as Naruto walked off slowly...his gaze never leaving her... "Naruto.."
"Good night Hinata..."
Naruto ran off with tears burning his eyes...he was confused about his feelings, about himself..about everything.
Home: 10:00 p.m
Sakura sat in the living room and put on her birthday hat.
"Alriiiiiiiiight! Let the feast begin!" Sakura rubbed her hands together and and inhaled greatly at the smell of all the delicious food. She began to eat her dinner which was an assortment of parmesan chicken, cheesy garlic bread and a fresh creamy caesar salad.
"Mmmmm it's so good hehehe" she giggled as she quickly finished her food. Sakura grabbed her belly before sliding her cake over to herself. She inserted the candle that said Happy Birthday on it. Sakura carefully lit it up with a matchstick and began singing to herself.
"Happy birthday to me...happy...birthday...to...me..." Sakura's voice was shaking as a tear drop escaped her eyes, "oh cut it out Sakura, be happy..." she wiped her eye and continued singing, "Happy birthday dear Sakura.."she laughed, "Happy birthday to...me" Sakura clapped and blew out the candle and continued clapping on her own when she heard something from outside the window. Sakura slowly looked up to see...the bunny mascot from earlier today standing outside her window clapping slowly...
"eh...EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!" Sakura quickly scurried back and pointed at the bunny.
"Y-Y-YOUUUU!" She screamed and the bunny waved at her, Sakura quickly got to her feet and ran towards the door, 'I gotcha this time bunny man!'
Just as Sakura opened the door the bunny began running away.
"HEY WAIIIIIIIT! PLEASE TELL ME WHO YOU ARE!"
The bunny stopped and made a heart shape with it's arms and waved again, Sakura stood frozen as she watched it hop on top of it's black motorcycle and drove off.
"YOU WEIRD BUNNY...AH THANK YOU FOR THE PRESENTTTTTTTTTTT!"
The bunny looked back quickly and blew a few kisses at her and did a quickly wheely before driving off faster.
Sakura walked back in and started laughing, 'Who in their right mind would do that...I wonder...oh...the present!'
Sakura ran over to her cake and cut herself a big piece. She took a big bite of her slice and looked at all her presents. Today has been the best birthday she's ever had...it was full of many...surprises.
She sat in front of her good and cake and surrounded herself with all the little gifts she's. She began laughing hysterically at the thought of the bunny staring at her... Sakura sighed, "well...let's open the present from the creepy bunny huh?"
Sakura pulled over the bag and looked inside to see it was wrapped in a beautiful, pink sparkly gift wrap... Sakura slowly took the box out and began to rip the wrapping. The more she teared and rippled the more her curiosity got to her.
"It's a..." Sakura gasped as she looked down at the giant treasure box. She covered her mouth and stared wide-eyed at the chest.
"Oh my..." Sakura quickly looked around to see the key was taped behind the box, she pulled it off and unlocked the lock. Sakura was in awe...inside...the box was filled with many different pieces of jewelry, necklaces, earrings...Sakura found hair clips, headbands...nail polish.
"Woooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" She squealed as she moved her hands through the chest to see random pieces of chocolate...the entire chest was packed full of goodies for her. Sakura reached all the way down and found a piece of paper at the bottom of the chest. She gasped and quickly pulled it out to see it was a letter. Sakura ripped the side and pulled out the letter and began to read, Dear Sakura, Rumor in the forest is that you turn 17 today...I was just hopping around hunting for carrots and decided I'd drop a little something off for you. Enjoy the little gifts I picked up along my trail...Enjoy your special day beautiful...love Mr. Bunny.
Sakura began to laugh until she was out of breath as she read the letter again for the second time, this was far too bizarre for her, but she had to admit, it was very creative and very touching... Sakura bit down on her lip when a sudden thought came to her, 'Mr. Bunny couldn't be...Ita-NAHHHH'' Sakura remembered how silly and embarrassing the bunny has been and brushed the thought off with a laugh. She spent the rest of the night eating her chocolate, trying on her jewelry and reading the scholarship offer..
Sakura read the details the scholarship offered her. It covered everything for her, down to extra money for necessities. This was a once in a life time opportunity for her. Sakura laid down on the floor and stared up at the ceiling, "Think about it Sakura..." she said to herself, "You could...go to school for free...no one would have to pay for you, not Dad...not Sasuke's parents...you didn't even have to slave over it..no loans or anything...it's like they're giving you a free ticket to Heaven...you could go to school worried free on top that you could get out of the house."
Ba-Thump...
Sakura suddenly sat up as she came to realization... "I could get out of the house...I-I..I could move out..." she gasped, "I could work in peace and go to a good college and study while working for Tsunade...Oh God I could live on my own again and never have to look at this shitty town again. I don't have to see these assholes anymore, no more mom, Karin Sasuke" Sakura said quickly and gasped again, "no more Sasuke, means no more marriage God...I could finally separate myself from that bastard and..." her heart was racing from the excitement... "I can come back to see Naruto, Itachi, and Dad...oh..." something else had struck to Sakura's mind... "Dad...if...if I get a divorce then..what'll happen to dad's company?.. the Uchiha company is what's keeping things going for him...if I leave then...then dad will have no job...and then he'll lose the house, and all those people who work for him will also lose their job...on top of that..."
Sakura curled into a ball as she thought of all the families that would suffer if she split from Sasuke. The marriage contract will end with the business contract if she leaves first..there's no way she could leave first..then it'll mean she's at fault. Her dad's company would plummet and ...he'll go bankrupt and will have to give up the house.. 'Would it be selfish of me if I left anyway?...sigh...What should I do...'
Beach House: 12:00am
The guys had arrived home, leaving the girls behind. The girls decided they would come home in Karin's new car after a relaxing day at the spa.
The tension was intense inside the car as Sasuke drove Naruto, Sai, Neji and Shikamaru home. After unpacking the car, all the guys left except for Naruto.
"Dobe" Sasuke called out making Naruto paused mid step and turn around, "Why are you so.."
"Hey Teme you know what man? I'm happy for you.." Naruto smiled at his best friend. He walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder, "You got so many great things going for you in your life right now, but at the same time I can't help but be ashamed to call you my best friend."
Sasuke roughly pushed, "You shouldn't be talking right now Dobe, you completely lost it back there. Not only did you get everyone thinking Hinata did something wrong, you beat the shit out of Kiba without hearing him out!"
"That's none of your business Teme!" Naruto pushed him back.
"We've been friends all our fucking lives of course it's my business!" Sasuke pushed again even harder, "You've changed man, you've been acting like a complete ass to Hinata ever since that chick came back"
Naruto clenched his fists and pushed Sasuke back even harder than before, "That chick is Sakura, and I wish everyone would shut up about me acting different. You should be the last one to tell me that! Ever since she came back you've been completely bipolar!"
Sasuke grabbed him by the shirt and narrowed his eyes, "What the Hell are you saying.."
Naruto pushed him off, "you know exactly what I'm talking about...Come on Teme, face it, you people think I'm stupid, you think I'm too clueless and dumb to not see what's going on...You think I'm blind not to see that you don't hate Sakura that you actually-mmmmmmmm!" Sasuke covered Naruto's mouth with his hand.
"Finish that sentence and I'll have my foot down your throat in a second."
Naruto punched Sasuke in the face, "Admit it Sasuke!"
"Fuck off Naruto! If you were so smart about this whole damn situation then you should've known by now that she's completely in love with you!" Sasuke felt his heart squeeze and his breath shake after saying those words out loud.
Naruto stood frozen for a minute before shaking his head, "Here we go again with that she likes me bullshit."
"SHE DOES LIKE YOU!" Sasuke yelled back angrily, "SHE'S IN LOVE WITH YOU!" he growled out unable to contain the anger built inside him.
Naruto told him to shut up, "You have no idea what you're talking about! Why would Sakura like me!? Why would..."
"You talk about keeping an eye on me when you couldn't even notice her practically throw her feelings at you, you fucking moron!"
"Shut up you're lying!"
"I'm done talking about this, you're too stupid to see what's in front of you." Sasuke walked away when he heard Naruto reply back to him.
"You're one to talk! You know what!?...nevermind..." Naruto bowed his head and walked over to Sasuke... "Forget it..." he placed a hand on Sasuke's shoulder and squeezed it... "I give up on trying to help you.."
Sasuke scoffed, "Help me with what?"
Naruto looked right into Sasuke's eyes, "I'm not going to answer that...you already know what I mean.."
Sasuke narrowed his eyes and looked away, "whatever..I'm out..."
"...Hey Teme..."
"What?"
"Do you know what today is?..."
"..Saturday..."
"And?"
"Karin's birthday."
It was quiet as Sasuke blankly looked at Naruto...his expression as wilted down to disappointment again.
"Right...Karin's birthday...pfft...I knew you'd say that."
"Go home Dobe..."
"yeah.." Naruto whispered, his voice barely audible, "Oh but before I go can you do me a favor?"
Sasuke turned around and faced Naruto again, "What?"
Naruto gave his best friend a sad smile and sighed, "Can you say Happy Birthday to Sakura for me?.."
BA-THUMP.
'What?..' Sasuke's eyes grew larger as his heart began to pound against his chest.
Naruto bowed his head again and gave Sasuke a small wave once he saw the panic wash over his best friend's face, "Thanks..."
'Sakura's...birthday...' his chest began to fall and rise heavily as a rush of panic filled him. Sasuke felt his body stiffen as he began to take deep shallow breaths. He flew the door open and sprinted up the stairs in search of her. Sasuke looked around the house to see little pieces of gift wrap scattered around the floor. Quickly, he runs up the stairs and rushes to her bedroom to see her sound asleep. She had spent her birthday all alone...it's no wonder his mother was looking for Sakura..
'I'm dumber than Naruto...'
Sasuke walks over to her and sits down at the edge of her bed. The light illuminating from the hallway lit the room enough for Sasuke to see her features.
He watched her sleep soundly before walking off, anger still burning inside of him. Sasuke left her room and closed the door behind him.
'I'm going crazy...' He slid down against the door and leaned his head back... he felt..empty, confused...and completely lost.
Suddenly tears began to stream down his eyes, his heart was pounding and aching. "What's wrong with me.." he whispered to himself, Naruto was right...he was right about everything down to the last bit about him actually...liking... 'no...I...I can't.. no.'
Sasuke covered his face in his hands, he needs help...and a lot of it. Without giving it a second thought Sasuke pulled out his phone and searched for his brother's name.
Sasuke: Aniki...we need to talk.
Itachi: Are you breaking up with my Sasuke?
Sasuke rolled his eyes and sighed, "this guy..." he mumbled. Sasuke looked down and quickly texted him back, he wasn't in the mood for his stupid games.
Sasuke: I'm serious... when are you free?
Itachi: When you have money to buy me lunch...little brother.
Sasuke: I'm serious right now!
Itachi: So am I ^_^
Sasuke: -_-...
Itachi: I'm not sure when I'll be free...but I'll let you know.
Sasuke: Thanks, night.
Itachi: little brother..
Sasuke: ?
Itachi: You're an idiot, but I'm glad you're finally seeing things clearly.
Sasuke: _ whatever.
Itachi: :P night.
Sasuke: night.
Sasuke banged his head against the door and got up. Hands in his pockets, Sasuke trudged towards his room and looked back at Sakura's door. He frowned again and slammed his door shut, he needs out...before he caves into his conscious and admits what he once thought was impossible.
Ichiraku's 12:00am
Itachi walked in with a ghostly smirk on his face, indeed his little brother was a cutie. Itachi seen this day coming the second Sakura came back to town...he wasn't sure if he was too happy about that. Itachi walked over to the front counter to order some food when he felt a familiar presence next to him.
"Hatake."
Kakashi smirked under his mask, "Uchiha."
"I gave her a bag full of make up.
"Hn, cute. I gave her a treasure chest."
Kakashi grimaced but then quickly smirked, "I hugged her."
"I kissed her."
Kakashi's eyes widened and he quickly turned towards Itachi, "You didn't!"
"Oh Hatake, but I did..."
"You.."
"Won."
Kakashi narrowed his eyes,and ran a hand through his silver locks.
"well.." Kakashi was at a loss for words, he didn't know what else to say.. "Damn you Uchiha."
"Hn, give up Hatake she loves me more."
"Yeah...well whatever."
Kakashi grabbed his drink and walked off he paused mid step and turned towards Itachi once more, "Oh and I want my bunny suit back."
"Hn, I'll drop it off tomorrow." Itachi's phone buzzed. He has been avoiding Konan's phone calls all day, "Enjoy your night Hatake I gotta take this."
Kakashi raised his glass and walked off as Itachi walked out the shop answering his phone.
"Ugly, you called?"
"Shut up, and yes I have been all. day."
"I was busy so what do you need?"
"Uh...nothing.." Konan's tone had softened, "Um..there's something I wanted to tell you.. Where are you?"
"I'm out of town at the moment.." Itachi lied as he stood alone in the parking lot.
"Oh...well umm I don't know how to say this..."
"Say it."
"I'm...pregnant..." she whispered into the phone.
BA-THUMP.
Itachi's heart squeezed tightly in his chest and he was unable to breathe.
"Really...Hn, so Pain had done the deed, congrats"
"...th-thanks.."
"Hm? What's that? You sound so..."
"You're happy for me?"
"Of course why wouldn't I be.."
"Right! hahaha...um.."
It was quiet on both ends of the phone, "I'm...happy for you." Itachi finally said.
"Yeah..me too, Pain doesn't know yet...I wanted to tell him right away but I think I'll do something special...and I was wondering if you could help...me.." Konan's voice was cracking as if she was fighting back to urge to cry.
"Just tell me what you need done, and I'll get it done."
"Great, thanks...well um..goodnight..."
"night, again congratulations...you'll be great mother..and a great wife to Pain."
Itachi clenched onto his cell when he heard her sniff into her phone, "Th-thanks jerk.."
"Why are you crying?.." he chuckled.
"Because you're unreal Itachi"
"I'm a bad guy huh.."
"The worst.."
"I gotta go, night, and be careful."
"don't tell me what to do!"
"Why are you mad?" he laughed, and Konan cussed a few words before hanging up.
Itachi sighed as he clicked his phone off and slid it into his pocket. He walked into his car and leaned back on his seat, "History sure loves repeating itself... Sasuke...don't be a fool...don't be like me.."
