Chiaki decided to pop by Saki's bakery, and get himself something sweet while he did his report. Chiaki got himself a slice of apple pie, he paid for his order as went to find a seat. Only to find Kotoha chatting with Kaoru. Chiaki blinked several times before approaching them.
Kotoha heard footsteps approaching them and turned to face the person who made the footsteps, which was Chiaki.
"Chiaki! Hisashiburi! What are you doing here?" Asked Kotoha, genuinely surprised.
"I was passing by, and I thought I get myself some sweets. What about the two of you?" Asked Chiaki?
"I have a day off from school today, so I took the train down and went to the Shiba mansion. Tono-sama suggested that Hime-sama and I go out and play for the day." Replied Kotoha.
"I see." Said Chiaki, eyeing the two girls.
Kotoha was dressed in a white shirt with a yellow jacket, black shorts and black sneakers with white socks. A white backpack was on the chair beside her. Kaoru wore a red minidress with skinny jeans, and brown sneakers with white socks. A black backpack was placed next to Kotoha's. Chiaki figured that the clothes were probably from Mako, Kotoha and Kotoha's sister, Mitsuba, since Kaoru herself mainly wore her kimono.
"I shall not disturb you girls, I have to work on my report." Said Chiaki, turning away from the girls.
"Nice seeing you Chiaki-kun, I'll inform everyone when I've confirmed the plans for Takeru's birthday." Said Kaoru.
Chiaki nodded and left the two girls alone.
Rewind back to two hours earlier...
Kotoha had arrived at the Shiba Mansion unannounced. She was greeted by the Kuroko who informed Takeru and Kaoru of her arrival.
"Kotoha, what are you doing here?" Don't you have school today?" Asked Takeru?
Kotoha shook her head, "I have a day off from school today. I thought I pay a visit to Tono-sama and Hime-sama."
"Will you be staying for the night or at least for dinner?" Asked Jii?
Kotoha shook her head, "I have school tomorrow, but I guess I can stay for dinner."
"That's great, I'll get the Kuroko to prepare your favourite food." Said Jii, before rushing off to the kitchen.
"Why don't the two of you go out and have some fun? I can handle things here." Said Takeru.
Tanba protested, "If hime is going, so am I."
Takeru shot a glare at the older man and opened his mouth to speak, before someone beat him to it.
"Kotoha-chan and the hime can take care of themselves." Said Genta, entering the front yard.
"Gen-chan." Said Kotoha, giving the older man a bow.
Genta gave Kotoha a two fingered salute, "They should go out and enjoy themselves like normal girls."
"Go and get changed before you leave." Added Genta.
"I'll help you, Hime-sama." Smiled Kotoha.
Kaoru nodded and Kotoha followed her in, Tanba was left with Takeru and Genta. Who managed to persuade him that letting Kaoru go out was a good idea. Eventually Kaoru emerged from her room in a red mini-dress with skinny jeans.
Kotoha, Mitsuba and Mako had often went shopping for clothes for Kaoru and sent them to the Shiba Mansion, after all she couldn't wear her kimono all the time.
Kotoha had also packed a sweater for Kaoru in a black backpack. Jii had given her some money to use on their trip. Kotoha and Kaoru left the mansion hand in hand. Tanba made a move to follow them, but was stopped by Takeru and Jii. Genta had left earlier, he had just stopped by to greet Takeru and Kaoru.
The two girls went to do some shopping, Kotoha bought her sister a dress while Kaoru picked out a shirt for Takeru, with the help of Kotoha.
Mitsuba has since recovered from her illness is is currently working as an assistant in a fashion boutique. That was part of the reason why Mitsuba would give clothes to Mako, Kaoru and Kotoha. Her boss would give them clothes that they had extra of.
After that, Kotoha and Kaoru went to Saki's cake shop, where they were greeted by the former Go-On Yellow, whose shift had just ended and she was leaving for her class at the university.
Kotoha ordered a strawberry tart and Kaoru got a strawberry shortcake. Kotoha could see that Kaoru enjoyed her day out. Kotoha wished that she could come down to Tokyo more often, but she had school and Mako had work, Mako also went overseas for a few weeks every six months.
They spent half an hour in the cake shop chatting, until Chiaki arrived. Kotoha and Kaoru finished up their cakes and bid Chiaki farewell before leaving the shop.
"Where do you want to go now hime-sama?" Asked Kotoha?
"Please call me Kaoru, Kotoha." Said Kaoru.
Kotoha paused for a moment before nodding.
"Where do you want to go?" Asked Kotoha?
"Can we go to the pet store?" Asked Kaoru?
"Sure, hi-Kaoru-chan." Smiled Kotoha.
Kotoha and Kaoru headed to the pet shop, much to the confusion of Kotoha.
"I like to get some goldfish for the Shiba Mansion." Spoke Kaoru.
"I see, having a fish tank would be a nice change." Said Kotoha.
"I've spoken to Jii-san, and he suggested that I pick the fishes that I like and he'll handle the rest. I want to look at what fishes they have here." Said Kaoru.
Kotoha and Kaoru looked at the fishes and got down their names, before leaving the shop after twenty minutes. It was nearly sunset when they left the store.
"Shall we go and watch the sunset?" Asked Kotoha?
"Where is the best place to watch the sunset?" Asked Kaoru?
"Gen-chan's sushi cart is currently near the pier. It's the best place to watch the sunset, but it would take a while to reach back to the Shiba Mansion." Frowned Kotoha.
"Maybe, next time. With the others too." Spoke Kaoru.
Kotoha nodded and the two girls headed on their way back to the Shiba Mansion. They were greeted by a frantic Tanba, who was unnecessarily worried for Kaoru. Kaoru sighed and hit Tanba with her big white fan.
"Kotoha, thanks for going out with me today. I hope we can do this again soon." Said Kaoru.
Kotoha smiled, "Me too, but next time with Mako."
Kaoru nodded and retreated to her own room, while Kotoha went to speak with Takeru and Jii.
"How was your trip?" Asked Takeru?
"I could tell that hime-sama enjoyed herself. She should go out more often, sometimes for a walk." Spoke Kotoha.
Jii nodded, "It's too bad that neither Mako nor you can be here all time. I understand that you have your own commitments."
"I was hoping that Saki-chan can be friends with hime-sama but she left in a hurry for her class earlier." Said Kotoha.
"It would benefit her if she had friends from other Sentai teams." Said Jii.
"I'll speak to Chiaki about it, I think he attends the same university as Saki." Offered Takeru.
Kotoha nodded and the Kuroko informed them that dinner was ready. Kotoha left her bag and went to the garden to make a call.
Meanwhile with Chiaki...
Chiaki was at home, having taken a bath. He was preparing to meet his father for dinner. He grabbed his keys and was about to leave his apartment when his Shodophone rang. He picked it up only to be surprised to see the name on the caller ID. Chiaki picked up the phone and spoke with the person on the other line for more than ten minutes.
Chiaki smirked, "Takeru is going to have a busy day on his birthday next month."
Kotoha had called him about checking out Kyoto Hall which was an olden Tea House, the place that Saki recommended them. Kyoto Hall was a place full of heritage, and guests were recommended to wear appropriate outfits inside. The owners recommended that guests wear kimonos, hakamas or yutakas to suit the location. It wasn't very expensive to rent, and Kotoha had checked Takeru's birthday and that day was free. But they had to confirm their booking by next week. Chiaki made a mental note to call Jii tomorrow and discuss about it.
Chiaki got up from the sofa, and left his apartment to meet his father.
