The people around Terra looked up at her in terror, grabbing their loved ones close.
"I-I-I didn't mean to..." She tried to explain.
Police were on the scene in a matter of minutes. Terra once again ran away. away from the police, away from the boy, away from the damage she had done. She returned to the alley and started to cry.
"I'm so... Stupid! Everywhere I go; no matter what I do, I hurt people. And i'm seen as a monster. I just wish..." she said.
Terra knew the police would want her behind bars. Maybe this city has crime fighters that could do the job, But where could she go? she didn't know the first thing about this city. She'd been through some horrible things; like Slade. But, what would jail be like?

For the next few moments Terra continued sobbing her heart out. She had her face in her knees, sitting down in the alley.
Suddenly she felt a small tap at her shoulder.
"Just take me away!" She screamed. To her surprise, it was the boy.
"Thank you for saving me!" He said cheerfully.

"He must not understand what happened..." she thought. "You're welcome" she finally said.
"You got a name kid? I'm Terra."
"My names James!" Terra smiled.
"Why do you're eyes get yellow when you're mad? " the boy asked. Terra laughed.
"That doesn't happen because I'm mad James, it happens because I'm just using my powers" she replied.
"Is that why you can make rocks fly?"

Terra chuckled. She realized that it wouldn't be so good if she was found with a kid. After what she had done, she wouldn't seem like the most trustworthy 'babysitter.'
"Where's your parents James?"
"I don't know, they left."
"Without you?" She asked, he nodded. Now Terra truly felt sorry for the boy.
"Well, wanna stay with me for a while?" Terra said cheerfully.
"Yes please!"

Terra and James spent most of their time together. They laughed, played, and Terra told James stories of her friends; the Titans.
"They seem fun" James said joyfully.

"They were..." She replied softly.

"So what happened to them?"

"O-oh... Nothing."

Terra no longer had to worry only about herself, she had to worry about feeding a little boy. They usually ate very little, like sharing a chocolate bar. At night it would get quite cold in the alley, and Terra felt bad about seeing James shiver, so she let him sit on her lap. Terra was now a wanted criminal, though James thought differently. Sometimes police officers would approach the alley, only to find James smiling back at them; Terra in the shadows.
"Kid, go home, and who's that?" They would say.
"Oh I will, and that's just my big sister." He replied. Terra found it heartwarming that the boy refered to her as his sister.
"It's nice to have someone around" she always thought.

Terra made sure to maintain a keen eye, she was wanted, and she didn't want to be taken away from James. She eventually got to know James a bit better. He says his favourite color is blue, his favorite animal is the Golden Retriever, and that he likes ice cream. James' company reminded Terra so much about her time with the Titans, especially beast boy, who had become her "best friend"
She wondered from time to time if the Titans did miss her, or if they moved on. James would always say he wanted to be a Titan. Terra wasn't sure if she should tell him that was possible or not, she was new to this whole babysitting thing.
She decided to say "Maybe you'll be like Robin someday, he doesn't have powers, but that didn't stop him, and I'm sure with your determination, you can do it." That is, if they ever got to Jump City.

BUT I WANNA GO TERWA!" He pleaded. James had been complaining for the past hour, and it was starting to get on Terra's nerves. The people who passed by the alley usually looked at the two strangely, others giggled.
"James, we can't go to Jump city. I'm not sure if they would want me there..." Terra said.
"BUT YOU ARE NICE! WHY DON'T THEY WANT YOU DER?" James shouted.
"Quiet down James, remember, we don't want to draw attention to ourselves." Truth was, Terra didn't think James was ready to hear about her experience with Slade. She thought the worse; that James would be afraid of her. She wasn't sure if she was still considered a criminal in Jump city, because of the things she had previously done, But James wouldn't have it. He threw a tantrum.
"BUT I WANNA GO TERWA! PLEASE! PLEASE! I'LL LET YOU EAT MY CHOCOLATE BAR!" He said as tears ran down his face. James began to tug at Terra's arm.
"PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!"

Terra began to loose her patience. "STOP IT JAMES!" Terra shouted as she pounded the ground; big mistake. It all happened so quickly. The ground shook, making James stumble. Then, a small rock's edge hit his arm, leaving a small cut. James' tears flowed harder.

" OW! Why did you do that Terwa?" James said as he began to cry louder.
"I-i'm sorry James! I-I didn't mean to-" Terra stopped as she noticed James ran away.
"James! I'm sorry! please come out!" She pleaded. She walked out in the open, right on main st. "Where could the kid have gone?!" she said. Suddenly Terra was surrounded by two men.
" 'aint this you?" one man asked. He was holding a newspaper article that described Terra perfectly; as a criminal.
Terra starred at the two men. She then turned around and ran; Ran for her freedom, ran away from the alley, away from James.

Terra ran as fast as she could. She Finally stopped when she saw the police station. "Caution: Wanted. Young girl with blonde hair. Blue eyes." there was also a very accurate police sketch. Terra starred at the sign for a few moments.

"What have I gotten myself into?" She asked herself. She ran to another alley. She sat down, back on the wall, and pointed her head up.
"Chantelle was right.. I'm an Idiot! How could I endanger a kid like that? And for what, I only kept him around so... So... I could have some company for once." She didn't want to admit it, but that "kid" was one of the closest people to family she ever had. And she wasn't about to loose him.
"James! Please James, come out!"

"I'm sorry James, for everything. I'm not perfect, but you can't run away from everything... How are you supposed to be a super hero, if you run away from the villains?" Suddenly there was rustling from behind a dumpster.
"I-Im not afraid!" It was James. Terra was relieved. She headed over and hugged him.
"O-ow!" James said as he grasped his arm. Terra totally forgot that she had hurt him.
"Here, can I see?" She asked. James was hesitant at first, but Terra promised that she could make it better. She ripped a bit of her sleeve, and wrapped it around his arm.
"See? All better, it's just like a Band-aid" she said.

Terra told James to go to a local convenience store, and buy everything he wanted, with the money she scavenged over the weeks. When James returned, he had bags full of candy.
"So why do we need so much candy Terwa?" He asked.
" 'Cause we're going on a trip. We're going to Jump City."
