Terra packed her things, James started to eat some of his candy. He tried to sneak a "pet" rat onto the trip, but she refused. They traveled by "flying rock" as James called it. This sort of travelling really took a toll on Terra, for she had to use all of her energy to keep the rock going. They travelled from days on end, only to rest on any land they could find.
James noticed how tired his comrade was, so he offered her his candy. Terra didn't accept his offer, she didn't want him to starve. She didn't want to draw attention to themselves either, she didn't want to get into any further trouble. They never stopped for long, they only ever really stopped to rest. Terra often thought if the Titans even wanted to be in her presence.
"What will they think when I suddenly show up? Not to mention the kid" she thought.
She wondered if they had stories to tell, she sure was excited to tell Beast Boy of her travels. She hoped that the others would encourage James to follow his dreams of being a crime-fighter. She hoped Robin might teach him a few pointers. She imagined James "attempting" to throw a birdarang, and giggled.
They were currently soaring above water. Terra told James to hold onto her, for the waves would crash on the rock from time to time.
Terra soon regretted letting James eat so much candy. He was as hyper as ever.
"ARE WE THERE YET? ARE WE THERE YET?" He asked. He kept tapping at Terra, but she reminded herself to stay cool, she didn't want anymore accidents. The tide started to get wilder, and the waves would crash on the rock more often. Terra was too weak to raise the rock any higher.
"James, hold on tighter!" She shouted over the sound of the sea. James was too distracted.
"Huh?" James said. Suddenly, a monster wave crashed onto the rock, and when the water washed away, James was gone. He had fallen; fallen into the deep sea.
Terra stood there frozen, she had just watched her friend plunge into the sea.
"JAMES!" She screamed. Instinctively, she jumped in after him. She wasn't the best at swimming, but this was an emergency. James saw her coming after him, he tried to scream for help, but only bubbles came out. He was running out of air. She tried to swim as fast as she could. Terra knew she couldn't do this by herself, she needed to use her powers. She managed to lift the tectonic plates a bit, creating a big wave that lifted James closer towards her. She got a grip on his hoodie, and pulled him upwards.
*GASP* they both gulped in air as they broke the surface. Terra had lost hold of the rock, so she had to bring it back from the seabed. When the two got back onto the rock, they were both exhausted.
"James, when I tell you to do something, please, do it" Terra said quietly.
"I'm sorry Terwa"
Terra smiled and said "It's fine James, it wasn't your fault. You scared me back there"
"I can be much scarier!" James said as he started to make funny faces. Terra laughed and patted his head.
Suddenly they were impacted by a huge bump. It was the docks. Terra instantly recognized the T- shaped tower in the distance.
"We're here. Welcome to Jump city, James."
