It was four days before Takeru's birthday. Mako and Kotoha were preparing the decorations at Ryunosuke's apartment. While Genta and Ryunosuke wrapped the presents. Chiaki and Kaoru were at Saki's bakery to pick out cake.

At the bakery...

Saki, Kaoru and Chiaki were sitting at a table discussing Takeru's birthday cake.

"I think Takeru would like a more traditional cake." Said Chiaki.

Saki flipped through the cake brochure until she found the page that she wanted. It was full of traditional cakes, like Strawberry Shortcake and Chocolate Mousse. Chiaki's eyes narrowed to a certain picture, he pointed to it and Saki smiled.

"That's a chocolate-vanilla dual layered cake. You can choose which layer to be chocolate and which to be vanilla." Said Saki.

"I guess it would be something different." Said Kaoru.

"The top layer should be vanilla, it would taste bland if the chocolate layer was on top." Said Chiaki.

"What about the cream?" Asked Saki, as she wrote down their order.

"Vanilla, chocolate would be too sweet." Said Kaoru.

"Any special messages? Other than the usual birthday greeting?" Asked Saki.

"Can you write his name and the birthday greeting in Red, Blue, Green, Pink and Yellow? Gold might not work out on the white background." Asked Chiaki.

Saki smiled, "We can do that, and the cake will be collected on Saturday right?"

Chiaki nodded, "Mako and hime will be staying over at Kotoha's place on Friday, to prepare for the party. I'll pick the cake in the morning and head there. Genta and Ryunosuke will go there with Takeru."

"We will head there on Saturday morning as well." Nodded Saki.

After more discussion, the finally decided on the cake and paid the deposit. Kaoru and Chiaki bid Saki farewell and left the bakery.

After exiting the bakery, they stopped by the craft store for more materials after Mako had called them earlier to buy more materials for the decorations. The two returned to Ryunosuke's apartment to help with the decorations.

"How's the cake?" Asked Ryunosuke?

"We spoke to Saki and she will take care of the rest." Replied Chiaki.

Kaoru cut out the flower shapes that Kotoha had drawn, while Chiaki glued the paper together to form a pop-up flower and left the glue to dry.

"Ryunosuke, what color is next?" Asked Chiaki, who was glancing at the paper flowers, which had been arranged in a pattern courtesy of Ryunosuke.

"Blue, we've already done red and yellow." Replied Mako.

Chiaki nodded and arranged the blue flowers in the pattern that Ryunosuke had laid out.

"What's the plan on Saturday? I'll head there early with the cake, what are you and Genta going to do about Takeru?" Asked Chiaki, turning to face Ryunosuke.

"Ryunosuke and I have everything planned out, Jii and Tanba are going to help us. But let's hope that Tanba doesn't spill the secret." Replied Genta.

"We'll leave Takeru to the two of you, just make sure that everything goes smoothly." Said Mako.

Ryunosuke glanced at the clock and turned to Kotoha, "Shouldn't you be getting home Kotoha?"

Kotoha turned to look at her watch and gasped, "Ryu-san is right, I should be getting home."

"Don't worry, we'll finish things up here. You can go ahead and return home." Smiled Mako.

"I'll walk you to the train station, and I'll pick up some dinner along the way." Said Ryunosuke.

Kotoha nodded and picked up her bag and left Ryunosuke's apartment.
