It was a time for celebration. Kuvira had been defeated. The war was over. And now, Varrick and Zhu Li were getting married. The wedding was supposed to take place at noon that day and everyone was preparing for the festivities. Kai himself was currently trying to find a suit to wear to the wedding. Some airbenders were just going in their wing-suits, but others, like Kai, decided to dress up. Plus, Kai wanted to look good for Jinora, his girlfriend. The problem was, most of the clothing stores in Republic City, make that most of all the stores, had been destroyed in the battle with Kuvira. So Kai was currently in a predicament. He was getting pretty desperate seeing as the wedding was only in about two hours. That's when the one person Kai would least expect to help him look good for his girlfriend saved him by providing some traditional formal airbender robes.

"Wow Master Tenzin, these are great," Kai said as he tried on the robes, "But, uh, do you mind if I ask why you are helping me look good for your daughter? You usually seem to not like me very much."

"Well, seeing as you have been dating her for a while and done nothing to hurt her, I don't see how helping you find some clothes for a wedding will hurt," Tenzin said.

"Thank you so much sir!" Kai said, bowing to the airbending master before dashing off to get ready for the wedding.

Kai wasn't the only one having trouble getting ready for the wedding. Jinora also could not find something to wear. As she came up empty yet again while searching her closet, she groaned in frustration. She looked up as Korra walked into the room.

"Hey Jinora," Korra said, "What do you think of this dress, does it look okay?"

"Wow Korra, it looks great, who are you trying to impress?" Jinora said.

"No one," Korra said laughing, "So, why do you look so frustarated?"

"I do not look frustrated!" Jinora protested.

"Sure you don't," Korra smirked.

"Fine, I am frustrated. I can't find a dress to wear to the wedding and I really want to look good for Kai," Jinora said.

"Well then, I know just the person to help you," Korra said, "I'll be right back."

"Okay…" Jinora said somewhat nervously.

When Korra came back, she had Asami with her. In Asami's hands were some dresses.

"Korra told me you needed something to wear for the wedding," Asami said smiling.

"Yeah, I do," Jinora said.

"Well then, try some of these on."

"Really?"

"Yes, really, go ahead. They don't fit me anymore, but should fit you."

Asami helped her into the first one. It was strapless and made of some kind of silky material. The problem was, it was a bit to long.

"I don't know about this one," Jinora said.

"Okay," Asami said, "What about this one?"

She helped Jinora into the next dress.

"No," Jinora immediately said. The dress was to short and way to tight in certain places.

The next dress had thin straps and was yellow. It was about knee length and very comfortable.

"I think this is the one," Jinora said with a smile.

"Great," Asami said, "It's yours."

"Really?"

"Yep."

"Thanks!" Jinora said happily.

"Well, I'll leave you to get ready. C'mon Korra," Asami said. The two older girls then left Jinora's room.

Kai walked out of his room twenty minutes before the wedding was going to start. As he walked out into the courtyard, his eyes were drawn to a beautiful girl walking out of the girl's dormitories; it was Jinora. She was in a yellow dress that cut off at the knees showing off her long, slender legs. The dress had thin straps and accentuated her curves in the most flattering way. Kai could feel a heavy blush growing on his face. Jinora smiled shyly at him.

"What do you think?" she asked him.

"Wow," Kai said to her, "You look amazing."

Jinora blushed.

"Thanks Kai," she said, "You look really nice too."

Kai offered his hand to her and she took it. They then walked to where the wedding was being held. Most people were already there. Kai and Jinora sat down in two empty seats that were beside Tenzin. As the wedding sevice started, Kai shot another look at Jinora.

"Gosh, she is beautiful," he thought to himself.

Everyone stood as the bride walked down the aisle. Zhu Li looked stunning in her wedding dress and Varrick looked like the happiest man alive as they said their vows.

"You may now do the thing," Bolin, who was the "preacher" of the wedding, said.

Zhu Li swept Varrick off his feet to everyone's amusement and kissed him deeply. Kai and Jinora stood up and cheered along with everyone else.

After the service was done, there was a reception on Air Temple Island. A band was playing and many were dancing. Kai and Jinora grabbed some food from the buffet table then sat down to eat. They smiled at Bolin and Opal who were on the dance floor performing some kind of swing dance.

"C'mon, I bet we can do better than that," Kai said playfully, extending his hand to Jinora. Jinora giggled and let him lead her to the dance floor. Kai quickly got in the groove.

"Wow Kai, you're really good!" Jinora said, never having seen Kai dance before.

"What can I say? I got moves," Kai said, giving her a suave grin. He suddenly twirled her, pulling her close to his body. Just then, the music slowed down. Kai quickly shifted into a slow dance, putting his hands on Jinora's hips. Jinora smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, laying her head on his shoulder.

"I'm glad you're safe," she said referring to the battle against Kuvira.

"And I'm glad you are safe," he said, kissing the top of her head. They swayed back in forth to the music, happy to be in each other's company. Eventually the music stopped as Varrick and Zhu Li made their grand exit to go on their honeymoon. Fireworks went off as the newly weds flew away in one of Asami's hummingbird mechs. Everyone cheered. Kai wrapped his arm around Jinora, and she pulled him in for a kiss. After the bride and groom left, the party started to calm down. People started to leave, including Kai and Jinora. They walked hand in hand back to the dormitories. On their way back, they bumped into Korra and Asami, who were back in their normal clothes and had backpacks with them.

"Oh! Um, hi Kai, hi Jinora," Korra said, "I didn't see y'all there."

"Are you two going somewhere?" Kai asked, motioning towards the backpacks.

"Um, yeah. We're gonna take a vacation in the spirit world," Asami said.

"Oh, are Mako and Bolin coming too?" Jinora asked.

"Uh, no. It's just gonna be, um, me and Asami," Korra said, a rosy blush appearing on her face.

Jinora raised an eyebrow at the two girls, while Kai just told them, "Have fun!"

After Korra and Asami were gone, Jinora turned to Kai.

"Thanks for dancing with me," she said.

"No problem," Kai said grinning, "I enjoyed it." He then yawned.

"Sorry, I'm a bit tired," he said, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.

"It's fine," Jinora said, "You should probably get some sleep."

"Yeah…"

A moment of silence passed.

"Jinora?"

"Yes Kai?"

"You know how much I love you, right?" Kai said. Jinora smiled sweetly at him.

"Yeah, I do. And I love you just as much," she said, cupping his face with her hands. She then pressed her lips to his in a sweet and tender kiss. When their lips parted, she hugged him.

"Goodnight Kai," she whispered.

"Goodnight Jinora," Kai whispered back. They then headed back to their bedrooms, both exhausted, but satisfied with the day.
