Notes: there seemed to be some confusion with Kid's madness. He like all the other residence of the underworld have been infected with the black so really everyone has it. Liz and Palti only see it in battle but because Kid and Maka aren't just normal demons it's much stronger.
Also does Maka's body need a name? If so what do you guys think it should be?
Also also Your reviews really made me smile last time and while I usually try to keep the story separated from my personal life I wanted to let you guys know.
RxR thanks!
"What in the hell do you think you're doing pervert?!" Maka's shouts could be heard all throughout the castle as she screamed at the poor Reaper. She was now looming over him wrapped in the sheets with a look that even scared the bandage girl into the corner.
"I was just- well you see…. You were just so dirty!"
"WHAT?!" She raised her foot up again to stomp on his stomach while Morphus held her back. That didn't stop her from kicking out continually trying to pound the reaper into a pulp. She rips free of the guards grip, half from her own strength and half from his need for self-preservation. As she charged toward him Kid held up his hands in defense!
"I was just checking to see if you were wounded!" Saved by the grace of whatever controls gravity (probably BlackStar) the girl trips on the ornate rug and falls face first onto the ground. He manages to slide forward fast enough just to lessen the impact.
While she is still stunned he wraps his arms around her constricting hers. As she recollects herself she starts to squirm in an alluring manner. "Let go of me you dick!"
"Maka!" His shout silences the room, hell even Morphus looked stunned. He grips her wrist and sits up, pulling her with him. His breathing calms when he realized the girl has calmed down. "I swear I was not trying to harm you or disrespect you in any way. I woke up with you sleeping next to me and I was simply concerned for your safety."
He smartly chose not to mention the other thoughts that had temporarily occupied his mind. It was difficult considering the position they were in. Even while angry she still looked lovely. He couldn't bring himself to let he go so instead he just lowered her wrist into their laps and sighed. A moment passed in silence letting the girls mind catch up. It gave him the chance to truly admire the way her shoulders flowed smoothing into her neck. The soft skin was glowing just a bit in a natural way that just made her seem so ethereal. Her blond head falls in shame.
"I'm sorry Kid. I didn't mean to… I just acted on impulse. And I-" Her voice caught in her throat as the young prince hesitantly wrapped his arms around her. It was different from when they slept, it was purposeful this time. One could even mistake it for being emotional.
"Thank Death you're okay." She smiled a bit before returning the hug softly, even nuzzling in his neck a bit. This feels… nice. They thought to themselves.
"Ehehmmmm!" They looked up in time to see Deumos smack Morphus in the chest. She smiled sweetly at the two with a knowing gleam in her eyes. " Well, we were told you called but if you wish we could step out for a few moments."
"Why would you do that?" Kid asked with his golden eyes gazed on her. Maka sighed from on top of him before gently pulling herself up. Kid was slightly dismayed at the lack of warmth but he didn't really dwell on it.
"Right, well…" Taking in the state of dress, or undress in Maka's case, the faithful nurse smiled tiredly. "Before we fill you in let's get you two cleaned up hm?"

"And that's when Lord Death came." Morphus was busy recounting the battle to Kid as he sat in the large sitting room of the bath house. Behind him, not to be left out, Maka was changing behind a beautiful Japanese screen with flying cranes engraved on it. It made her wonder again on where all these perfectly conditioned antiques came from.
"My father showed up?" Kid's memory all but disappeared after the pile up of the horses, which by now Maka had learned died of exhaustion.* In her recollection of the event Maka does remember seeing the Shinigami but he was able to pass through them.
"Oh heavens no!" Deumos voice piped up from where she retrieving clothes from Maka out of a closet. "You know your father wouldn't leave here for anything less than the possible destruction of the world. He just sent a cloak."
"A cloak?" Maka asked drying off her hair. The shower had felt nice when it came to getting the grim and dirt but what really helped was the warmth of the hot springs. She hadn't felt this good since leaving the human world.
"Oh shut up you old hen!" Kid must have shot a pointed look at Morphus because he quickly corrected himself. "Oh not you Maka, Deumos. Let me finish you old hag."
"Quit complaining Brat!"The woman walked behind the screen carrying a few pieces of cloth. Despite the snapping tone she had a slight smile on her face. "Here you are Deary. Sorry we don't have any clothes like the ones you came with. I'll have the tailor make some up but in the meantime you'll have to wear this. I'll keep watch to make sure the PERVERT doesn't bother you."
She shouted the last part rather loudly causing Maka to blush. "I already told you it was an accident. Kid didn't mean to."
"I wasn't talking about him." Maka chuckled a bit as she her metal clatter to the ground. She happily pulled on her new, slightly revealing underwear and pulled out a beautiful red kimono. The ruby silk was delicately embroidered with gold thread with the image of a fox sleeping by a koi pond. The obi she used to tie the dress was gold with black ends that tied in a bow before flowing with the rest of the gown to the floor. She decided while it wasn't her style she liked it very much.
Emerging from behind the curtain she shook out her hair and sat next to Kid to rest. Morphus let out a low whistle before Deumos slapped him on the back of the head. "You insolent brat! Show the poor girl some respect."
The blond man rubbed his head in annoyance. " Gah! Watch it Granny! I just got back from a battle, can't I relax a bit?"
"A cloak?" Maka asked pulling them back to the conversation at hand. Quite frankly the woman just wanted to be done with it and go back to sleep.
"Right," the blond man adjusted himself before explaining. "It's something similar to a ghost version of him. His body remains here stationary while he sends it out. It has very little of his powers but it was enough to get the job done and send Chaos running for the hills.
"Well then I take it everything else has been settled?" Kid's voice is stoic and profession. Not a hair is out of place and he looks no different from the day Maka met him.
"Huh, yes sir. All reports have been sent to the nations notifying them of the act of war."
Crap. What did I do? Maka thought to herself.
Look's like you started a whole lot of fun Blondie.
Will you please leave me alone for the day? She took the resounding silence as a yes.
"No, there will be no war." Kid's voice shocked her out of the trance she unknowingly entered. "We will classify it as a boarder skirmish and nothing more. Keep those present in a state of silence on the matter. Do you understand?"
"But sir-"
"This is not negotiable. We need to maintain the peace as long as possible. As I have come to understand our army suffered very few losses and no major figures were injured. Just let it be a personal lesson to the rest of the 'neutral' nations.
"Yes sir." Morphus left in a march as he moved to pass the word on. He is surprisingly fun but is still a perfectly serious solider when he needs to be.
"Very well, Deumos. Escort Maka back to her room for some rest. I am heading to the Divine room to catch up on work from the last week." Kid started to exit only to have the Nurse demon yank back on his collar.
"I don't think so Kiddo. After all this, your Father has demanded another week's vacation for you."
"You cannot be serious."

A few days passed before Maka had been dubbed healthy enough to leave her room. Deumos had become very adept at thwarting the girl's attempts to sneak out, much to the credit of watching the Prince for so long.
On the morning she was free to leave Maka found a wrapped package on the dresser in her room. On it was a note that read:
Dear Maka,
I will be busy and cannot escort you this morning. However, we can meet up for lunch if it pleases you. My father has suggested a tour of the manor so that you can familiarize yourself with it and the people of the house. If it pleases you meet me in my parlor at 11:00.
Death the Kid
p.s. The parcel attached are some clothes that Deumos ordered from the tailor. I have no clue what they are for but she insisted I give them to you.
Maka smiled at the awkward invitation and hugged the package close. She opened it and held out the plaid red skirt and crisp white shirt. She eagerly threw them on and looked in the mirror. For the first time she really felt like herself again. She even had her pig tails back. In fact the only difference was a gold crest embroidered on her left breast pocket in the shape of a skull. Nice addition.
As far as Maka was concerned she did pretty well. It only took a few hours for her to find the parlor again. Just in time to be 15 minutes early for lunch. Wandering into the parlor she decided to wait for the Prince with a cup of tea.
A familiar face popped out of the oven and in a delighted squeal landed on her shoulder. The fox rubbed affectionately against her face. "Well hello again. Still as cute as ever I see."
The animal purred in delight as Maka lavished it with affection. Very quickly the time passes and Maka never got her tea. The clock chimed eleven times before she was able to pull herself away from the adorable creature. It's so unlike him to be late.
"I wonder what he's doing. Have you seen the prince, little one?" The fox cocked its head and barked once before jumping onto the table and then the floor. It dashed to a nearby door and waited patiently for her to follow.
When she stepped close enough he skittered under the crack between the door and the floor and was gone. Maka giggled at the mischievous creature and pushed open the door to follow after.

Out in the garden Kid was minding his own business. On his so called 'vacation' his poor tea plants had fallen into disarray. He came in only for a few leaves to make some tea for lunch and has been coaxing his garden back into submission since then.
A small echoing foot step alerted him to her presence. He sighed in an almost contented way. Over the last few days he had found himself worrying about the girl in a fashion much unlike himself. Finally knowing for sure that she was back in shape somehow slid him into a pleasurable mood.
"My, I wasn't aware it was so late. Please forgive me Maka; I lost track of time." The girl couldn't care less despite his best attempts at apologizing. She was far too busy just enjoying the feeling of sun on her skin, even if it was red. This gave Kid an idea.
"Maka," She turned her head with a kind smile on her face. She has become a bit pale while healing but her eyes still shown with the glimmer of life that made a small part of Kid melt. "How would you like to see the city today?"
The amazing look on her face of pure joy stirred something inside of him again. A feeling he had begun to grow used to. However, he did not realize it was growing stronger.

One burnt breakfast and a profuse apology from the Prince* later they made their way into town. Just walking past the stables was intriguing to Maka. She had only been outside the castle when she left to meet Kid and coming back with him. The first was far too late at night for any sane creature to be up and coming back, well, Maka would rather not think about that.
Looking over at the young reaper it was astonishing to her how healthy he looked. Well as healthy as a pale, skinny, golden eyed boy can look.
You left out exceedingly attractive and ridiculously strong. The bandage girl appeared beside Maka draping her scarves around her soul's neck. Even though Maka couldn't feel them there was something off-putting about it.
What are you doing here? She pretended to stretch her shoulders to shake them off without her companion knowing. Maka was beginning to get used to her body haunting her, in a way she was almost fun. During the days she spent stuck in that room whenever she got bored her soul would show up and chat, mostly about death or sex but it's the thought that counts.
I'm equally as curious to what's out here. I can't ever really be that far from you but I would like to look around. If you let me out I won't do anything bad. They can't even see or feel me. I'll even leave you two alone.
And if I refuse? Maka really had no issue letting her body's ghost roam, but it was fun just to hear her answers sometimes.
Well I can spend the entire time screaming in your head about what you know you really want to do to that boy next to you. Either works for me. The girl licked her lips in a seductive way and under the cloth Maka imagined her winking.
Fine, you can go. Maka wasn't sure how to really stop her from going anywhere but it seemed the permission just seemed to work fine. If she really wanted to she could just force the girl to the back of her mind but it always gave her a headache.
For a moment she just enjoyed the sun. The breeze in Death Kingdom wasn't like the one in life where it would send a refreshing wave of air. Instead it was a warm comforting breeze. It was cozy and familiar to the girl reminding her of home.
"Are you ready to go?" Kid had finished talking to the guards men by the gate.
"Yeah! I'm really excited."
"Yeah… I am as well." Kid smiled and held out his hand to her in a gentlemanly fashion but it had a touch of warmth to it as well. Maka couldn't help but blush as she took it. Thankfully he wasn't watching as the gates had begun to open.
Dead horses * This may seem random and dark to put it but I want it to be known that the Charge of the Light Brigade causes the other horses to run as fast as Bronte can. But, as the horses can't physically do so it will kill them after use… this is why it is not constantly used.
Burnt breakfast* reapers don't need to eat. And Kid just seemed to think it looked easy enough.
