Echo of Shadows Pt. 2

Naruto awoke from his nap in the captain's quarters with a sharp gasp of air and sat up.

"You okay?" asked Tayuya as she turned to him from the door.

Naruto waved her off and took several deep breaths. He stood up and headed to the conference room. He was about to send a message when he heard Tayuya gasp. He turned around and found that the Son had Tayuya in his grasp.

"Leaving so soon?" asked Son casually, "Not without this, you won't."

The door of the ship opened up and the Son threw Tayuya down the stairs and out into the sky, quickly following her and turning into his gargoyle form.

"Tayuya!" shouted Naruto before he rushed to the cockpit.

"What's going on?" asked Satele as Naruto took the other pilot seat.

"The son took Tayuya." stated Naruto as he switched contol of the ship to his side.

"What?" asked Satele before Naruto made a mad dash for the surface and chased the Son.

Naruto gritted his teeth as he shifted into his older form and Satele took notice of this. The Son led Naruto and Satele aroudn many mountains with Naruto barely missing them as he sped up. The Son took them deeper into the fog and clouds and soon vanished from sight. Naruto followed and quickly went around a glowing green orb on a tower before they crashed onto a platue. Naruto engaged the landing systems and the loading ramp.

"I didn't think you saw it." said Satele as she headed out of the cockpit.

"It was a giant tower." said Naruto angrily, "Of course I saw it."

They went outside and both stared at the tower.

"That's obviously where he's taken her." said Satele.

"We must hurry." said Naruto as he walked toward the tower.

"Naruto, this wasn't a mistake." said Satele as she got between Naruto and the tower to stop him, "He brought us here for a reason. We must not get involved. Any conflict here could have dramatic repercussions for the universe at large."

"I don't care." said Naruto as he walked aroudn Satele and continued on, "He's too powerful for Tayuya. I won't leave my sister along."

"We are in the middle of something we don't truly understand." said Satele as she turned Naruto around, "We'd be wise to confer with the Father first."

"I'm not going to abandon her like you did." said Naruto sternly.

"I didn't abandon her." came Satele's reply in an edgy tone, "She was taken on the night you were born."

"You could've gone after her but you didn't." said Naruto as he was on the verge of shouting while poking her hard in the shoulder with each following word, "Instead, you just decided she wasn't worth your time and left her to have Orochimaru experiment on her."

Naruto took a deep breath and turned away from Satele as he hung his head.

"I guess you don't care about our family as much as I do." said Naruto as he broke into a run for the tower.

(Several Minutes Later)

Satele watched as the Daughter healed the Father and gritted her teeth.

"I must talk to him." said Satele.

"No." replied Daughter, "Not until he's stronger."

"But your brother is losing himself to the Dark Side." explained Satele, "He's taken our friend."

"Then he must have his reasons." said Daughter calmly.

"Same reason he had for attempting to murder your father?" asked Satele.

"He wouldn't." came Daughter's curt reply.

"But I saw him." explained Satele.

"It is not his fault." commented Daughter, "My nature is to do what is selfless. But my brother's is to do what is selfish."

"Then you must help us." pled Satele.

"I cannot interfere in the ways of the Force." said Daughter as she stood up and slowly headed for the door, "My father forbids it."

"You brother will flee this place and wreck havoc on the universe." explained Satele, "You and Naruto combined have the power to stop him."

Daughter stopped and contemplated Satele's words.

"Come with me." said Daughter.

(Ten Minutes Later)

Satele stared at the Dagger of Mortis in the alter and reached out to grab it when she thought of something.

"My son had what looked like a sword without a blade." said Satele as she looked back up at Daughter, "Do you know what that could mean?"

"It would mean that he completed one of the darkest rituals the Force could do." said Daughter before she realized something, "It means he created a weapon that can control my brother and myself."

Satele left the alter and ran out of the cave with Daughter.

(An Hour Later)

Naruto walked into the courtyard of the Son's temple and found Tayuya meditating at a tree. Naruto was about to speak when he felt something wrong. He reached for one of his lightsabers but hesitated.

"Are you proud of yourself?" asked Tayuya, "Are you proud that you left me in pain for thirteen years?"

Naruto grunted and grabbed his head as countless images of Tayuya's life bombarded his mind.

"He was right." said Tayuya as she opened her eyes and stood up, turning to Naruto to reveal her now yellow eyes, "You must join him. He only wants what's best for the universe."

"I'm not going to fight you." said Naruto defiantley.

"I always knew you were weak." said Tayuya dissapointingly, "You held back in our last fight and I took a part of you with me."

Naruto flexed his right hand but kept it off his double-bladed lightsaber.

"I made it thirteen years without you so why don't you just run off back with the pathetic Jedi." said Tayuya cockily.

"No." said Naruto, "You're my sister and I love you. When I found out that you existed, I swore that I would find you and keep you safe."

He then realized what was going on and grabbed his standard lightsaber.

"Let her go, you son of a bitch."

"So, you finally figured it out." said Tayuya, "But it won't be enough to stop me."

Tayuya drew her lightsaber and activated it. She gave a standard Makashi salute but then lept at Naruto and went into a style that Naruto didn't recognize. Naruto went deeply into Soresu and kept his guard up.

Satele and Daughter walked up behind the Son in his throne room, overlooking the courtyard where Naruto and Tayuya were fighting.

"Sister, what a pleasent surprise." said the Son as he turned to them, "And you brought up a friend."

"What have you done, brother?" asked Daughter.

"Done?" asked the Son as he sat in his throne, "I have done what is right or what is wrong depending on your point of view."

"Our father is dying." said Daughter as she took a step forward, "Did you do it?"

"He was just too selfish and was taking too long so I decided to move things along." replied the Son, "Now, why are you here?"

"I won't let you leave this planet." said Daughter in determination.

"You are not strong enough to keep me here." said the Son as he stood up.

"Not alone, she isn't." said Satele as she stepped forward.

"Are you refering to the boy with that creature inside of him?" asked the Son as he went back over to the window, "You might want to check up on him. He's having a little family feud right now."

Satele went wide eyed and dashed out of the room.

"I don't want to fight you, sister." said Naruto as he parried Tayuya.

Tayuya kicked Naruto in the chin and sent him onto his back and knocking his lightsaber out of his grasp.

"And know, the sister shall kill the brother!" declared Tayuya.

She jumped forward as Naruto called his lightsaber into his left hand and blocked Tayuya's blow to the head.

"You're getting a head of yourself, aren't you, tomato?" taunted Naruto.

"Don't call me that!" shouted Tayuya as she began to push harder, "I hate being called that!"

Naruto got out of the blade lock and knocked Tayuya's lightsaber into the air. Tayuya ran up Naruto's chest and flipped forward then landed on a rock, raising her hand and catching her lightsaber. She pulled out a second one and activated it as Satele ran up along side Naruto with both ends of hers turned on.

"One Jedi and another who can't make up his mind." taunted Tayuya as she jumped forward and Naruto and Satele blocked both her blades.

As they fought, Satele recognized some of Tayuya's movements and both she and Naruto put her in a blade lock.

"She's modified Juyo." explained Satele as she tried to press her attack.

"You like?" asked Tayuya slyly, "I call it Vaapad."

She broke the blade lock and pressed her attack.

"This is bad." thought Naruto in desperation as he went into a one-handed variation of a Niman/Djem So combo, "Looks like I have no choice."

Satele stepped in and pushed Tayuya back but the young girl stopped herself by sticking her lightsabers in the ground.

"Any suggestions?" asked Satele as she looked back at Naruto.

Naruto reached behind his back and pulled out the Darksaber. The blade extended as Naruto drew it and gave off a higher pitched hum as it moved through the air.

"What is that?" questioned Satele at the sight of the blade blade.

"A memory I wish to forget." said Naruto before he flipped both his lightsabers into a reverse grip glared at Tayuya.

"Where did you get that?!" snarled Tayuya, "Give it to me!"

Naruto pushed Satele aside as Tayuya came in and blocked the lightsaber in her left hand. Both Satele and Tayuya looked in shock as the blade of Tayuya's lightsaber cracked and broke, rendering it useless. Satele continued to watch as Naruto was now holding his own against Tayuya and felt a little proud. The window of the tower shattered and all three humans dove to the ground and shielded themselves from the falling glass as the Son and Daughter fell to the ground while Father landed in front of the tree.

"So glad you could make it, father." said the Son tauntingly as he stood up then fired Force Lightning at his own flesh and blood.

The Father effortlessly blocked the lightning and glared at the Son.

"You will stop this." ordered the Father.

"You are weak, old man!" declared the Son, "You mean nothing to me anymore!"

He increased the power of his Force Lightning and knocked the Father back. The Son walked up to the Father and began shocking him with Force Lightning.

"Satele!" shouted Naruto as he tossed the Darksaber to her.

Satele reached to catch it but Tayuya grabbed it as she jumped over and landed behind the Son. She faced the Son as he stopped electrocuting the Father and turned to her.

"Everything has transpired exactly as I planned." said the Son in joy.

"You... told them what that does?" asked the Father of the Daughter as he stared at the Darksaber's blade.

"I am sorry, father." apologized Daughter as Satele helped her to her feet, "I didn't know how else to stop him."

"Give it to me, child." ordered the Son to Tayuya, who looked back at Naruto over her shoulder.

"Sister, please don't." begged Naruto.

Tayuya clenched the handle of the Darksaber tightly before handing it over to the Son.

"Thank you." said the Son as he examined the blade, "Your usefulness has come to an end."

He tapped her on the forehead and Tayuya collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

"NO!" shouted Naruto as he ran at the Son.

The Son pushed Naruto onto his back with the Force then turned to face the Father.

"The Jedi have brought me a Darksaber and you have brought yourself." said the Son as Naruto shakily got to his feet.

The Son raised the Darksaber and brought it down on Father, only for Daughter to get between them and take the blow. An instant later, Naruto was on his stomach and screaming bloody murder.

"Naruto!" exclaimed Satele as she ran up to him.

Naruto thrashed and convulsed as the pain only seemed to grow. Naruto's mask fell off and Satele gasped at the sight of what appeared to be half of Naruto's face having been melted off. Naruto clawed at his back as he continued to scream and Satele tore off Naruto's robes. She was shocked at the sight of the robotic arm but what caught her attention was the large scar on his back that she quickly deduced was from a lightsaber. Satele held Naruto in her arms and whispered to him.

"It's alright." she assured him, "I'm here. Everything is going to be okay."

Naruto slowly started to calm down and was soon resting in Satele's arm and takiing deep breaths. Tayuya regained consciousness and looked at the scene of Father holding Daughter in his arms and Satele holding the barely awake Naruto in hers.
