The Emperor's Apprentice

Three weeks. It had been three weeks since Naruto's little war with the Jedi had ended and everything had become peaceful. Elie had woken up and was now back at the penthouse but Naruto had bought a droid to take care of Elie's chores while she recovered. This gave Naruto time to play with Ranmaru and R2 as well as teach Talon how to be a Mandalorian. However, this day was going to be one that no one would forget.
Naruto walked through the Senate Building in his old Jedi Robes and into the Chancellor's office. As he approached the Chancellor's desk, the chair turned around and the Chancellor faced Naruto.
"Chancellor, I wanted to know if you knew anything more of Lord Vitiate." stated Naruto, "I've been having nightmares about Elie and I need to know more about how he did what he did."
"I've been wondering when you would ask that." said Tenebrae.
"I never should have left her alone." said Naruto as he looked away.
"It's upsetting to me to see the Jedi would do such a thing to that poor Cathar." said Tenebrae, "Don't you wonder why they didn't make you a Jedi Master?"
"I wish I knew." said Naruto as he paced back and forth, "As time went on, I got the feeling that I was being excluded from the Council. Now I find out that Satele has a secret that even Darth Lazarus knows about and I can feel that the rest of the Council know but they've been keeping me in the dark this whole time."
"They didn't trust you." said Tenebrae as he stood up and walked with Naruto, "They saw your future. They knew your power would be too strong to control. You must break through the fog of lies that the Jedi have created around you."
As they crossed the threshold into the hall that led to the door out of the office, Naruto felt something was wrong.
"Let me help you to know the ways of the Force." said Tenebrae.
"How do you know the ways of the Force?" asked Naruto as he reached for his Darksaber.
"Marka Ragnos taught me everything about the Force and then I took it from Naga Sadow." said Tenebrae as Naruto got in front of Tenebrae and drew his Darksaber.
"You're Lord Vitiate?" asked Naruto, "You're the Sith Emperor?"
"Naruto, if one is to study a great mystery, one must study all its aspects." said Tenebrae, "If you wish to become a complete and wise leader, then you must embrace a larger view of the Force."
Naruto and Tenebrae slowly circled each other as Naruto activated his Darksaber.
"Only through me can you achieve a power greater than any Jedi." said Tenebrae, "Learn to know the Dark Side of the Force and you will be able to save that Cathar from certain death."
"What did you say?" asked Naruto.
"Use my knowledge." said Tenebrae as Naruto held up the Darksaber.
"I don't know how you managed to infiltrate the Republic but I do know you won't win." said Naruto as they continued to circle each other.
"I know what's been troubling you." said Tenebrae, "Listen to me. Don't continue to be a pawn of the Jedi or this Potentium. Ever since I've known you, you have been searching for a way to protect your home planet."
He turned away from Naruto, who struggled to make the decision.
"Are you going to kill me?" asked Tenebrae.
"I would really like to." said Naruto in rage.
"I know you would." said Tenebrae, "I can feel your anger. It gives you focus and it makes you stronger."
He turned back to Naruto and looked him in the eyes. Naruto deactivated his weapon and but kept it out.
"I'm going to turn you over to the Jedi Council." stated Naruto in a controlled rage.
"Of course you should." said Tenebrae, "But you're not sure of their intentions, are you?"
"I will quickly discover the truth of all this." said Naruto.
"You have great wisdom, Naruto." said Tenebrae seriously, "Know the power of the Dark Side. The power to save Elie."
Lazarus stood in part of the rubble that was Corenet City and turned on a long range holocom.
"What is it?" asked Darth Marr.
"I fear that the Emperor knows of my deception." said Lazarus, "Tell Vowrawn that the coup is suspended until further notice."
"And what of you?" asked Darth Marr.
"I will remain here on Corellia and face my destiny." said Lazarus as she ended the call and waited.
(Half an Hour Later)
The Exile was getting onto a transport with three other Jedi Masters when Naruto came up to her.
"Master Meetra." said Naruto as he caught up with her, "I must talk to you."
"Not now, Naruto." said the Exile as she headed toward the transport, "We just got word that there are several large border skirmishes that are threatening the treaty. All Jedi Masters have been ordered to the front lines."
"That's just it." said Naruto, "It's all a trap. I've just learned a terrible truth. Chancellor Tenebrae is a Sith Lord."
"A Sith Lord?" asked the Exile in disbelief as she stopped and turned to Naruto.
"Yes." confessed Naruto, "I believe he is also the Sith Emperor."
"How do you know this?" asked the Exile.
"He told me of Marka Ragnos and how he trained under him." said Naruto.
"Are you sure?" asked the Exile.
"Absolutely." replied Naruto.
"Then our worst fears have been realized." said the Exile as Naruto joined her on the transport, "We must move quickly if the Jedi Order is to survive."
"Master, the Emperor is very powerful." said Naruto, "You're going to need my help to apprehend him."
"For your own good, stay out of this." order the Exile, "This is now official Jedi business. And I sense a great deal of confusion in you, Naruto. There is much fear that clouds your judgement."
"I must go, Master." insisted Naruto.
"No." said the Exile as she got on the transport, "If what you tell me is true, you will have regained my trust and I will push for you to be allowed to rejoin the Jedi. But for now, go home and be with Elie, Talon, Artoo and Ranmaru. Wait there until we come to collect you."
With that, the transport took off and Naruto clenched his hand as he went to steal a speeder.
Satele looked at the very shoto that was the first lightsaber that Naruto had ever used and clenched it tightly. She then looked out into at the stars from the ship she was on and felt her heart ache.
"Going down memory lane?" asked Tasiele as she entered her daughter's room.
"This was his first lightsaber." said Satele as she put it away, "How could this have happened?"
"Maybe he would have stayed if you had just told him about the connection between you and him." suggested Tasiele.
"I... I just can't." said Satele with a sigh, "I can't just drop this on him. I don't want to ruin what little of a bond we have left."
"You will have to tell him eventually." said Tasiele, "By then, it might be too late."
The Exile and three other Jedi Masters stormed into the Chancellor's office and up to Tenebrae.
"I must say you are here sooner than expected." said Tenebrae.
"In the name of the Galactic Senate of the Republic..." said the Exile as she and all the other masters drew their lightsabers and activated them, "You are under arrest, Chancellor."
"Are you threatening me, Master Jedi." asked the hostile Tenebrae.
"It won't end like last time." said the Exile, "The Senate shall decide your fate."
"I am the Senate." said Tenebrae angrily.
"Not yet." said the Exile.
Tenebrae stood up and a lightsaber shot out of his sleeve and into his hand.
"It's treason then." said Tenebrae as he jumped forward and quickly struck down the Jedi Masters that were with the Exile, who only survived by using Vaapad that was taught to her by her old Padawan.
They dueled into a small conference room where the Exile started to gain the upper hand.
Naruto arrived at the Senate Building and quickly hopped out of the speeder then ran to the Chancellor's office.
The Exile and Tenebrae dueled toward the back of the conference room and managed to break the large window. As they dueled , the Exile kicked Tenebrae in the face and staggered him, knocking his lightsaber out of his hand as well as the window in the process. Tenebrae fell to the floor and scooted away from the Exile just as Naruto entered.
"You are under arrest, my lord." said the Exile sarcastically before they both noticed Naruto.
"Naruto, I told you it would come to this." said Tenebrae quickly, "I was right. The Jedi are taking over!"
"The oppression of the Sith will never return." said the Exile, "You have lost."
"No!" shouted Tenebrae, "You will die!"
He shot Force Lightning at her but the Exile deflected it back onto him.
"He's a traitor!" shouted Tenebrae as he was electrocuted.
"He's always been a Sith!" shouted the Exile under the force of the attack she was deflecting.
Naruto looked at both of them and struggled with his feelings.
"I have the power to save the one you love!" said Tenebrae.
Tenebrae ceased the Force Lightning and panted in exhaustion.
"He must stand trial!" said Naruto firmly.
"He has control of the Senate and the courts!" shouted the Exile, "He's too dangerous to be left alive!"
She raised her lightsaber and brought it down, only for it to be stopped by the Darksaber. Naruto, who had his eyes closed in shame, executed Cho mai and sent the Exile flying out of the window with a massive Force Push. Naruto cried and fell to all fours as Tenebrae laughed.
"You're fulfilling your destiny." he told the young boy, "Become my apprentice. Learn to use the Dark Side of the Force."
"I will do as you say." said Naruto through his tears and without looking up.
"Good." said Tenebrae in pleasure.
"Just help me save Elie." begged Naruto as he continued to cry, "She's the only family I have left besides my adiik."
"To cheat death is a power I have only granted to one other but if you serve me, I shall give her this power as well."
Naruto sat up as he phased into his older form and looked up at Tenebrae.
"I pledge myself... to you teachings." said Naruto.
"Good." said Tenebrae, "The Force is strong with you. A powerful Sith, you will become. Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth... Asura."
"Thank you." said the former Naruto.
"Rise, Lord Asura." ordered Tenebrae.
The newly christened Asura rose and sent a huge wave of regret through the Force.
Satele clutched her chest and stared at the ground in horror as she felt the massive disturbance in the Force while falling to her knees.
"Is everything alright?" asked Tasiele as she helped her daughter up.
"You didn't feel that?" asked Satele.
"Feel what?" asked Tasiele.
"The balance of the Force has shifted." said Satele in worry, "We've lost this war."
"When the Jedi learn of what has transpired here, they will kill me." said Tenebrae as he put a cloak on and flipped the hood over his head, "However, as they do not know about you turning to the Dark Side, you shall be safe."
"The Council's next move will be against the Senate." said Asura.
"Every single Jedi, including Satele Shan, is now an enemy of the Republic." said Tenebrae.
"I understand, master." said Asura.
"We must move quickly." said Tenebrae, "The Jedi are relentless. If they are not all destroyed, there will be civil war. First, I want you to go to the Jedi Temple. We will catch them off balance. Do what must be done, Lord Asura. Show no mercy. Only after you have done that and dealt with Darth Lazarus will I give Elie immortality."
"What about the other Jedi spread across the galaxy?" asked Asura.
"Their betrayel will be delt with." said Tenebrae as he took a seat at his desk, "After you have killed all the Jedi at the Temple and Lazarus on Corellia, go to the Mustafar System. Wipe out all the Imperial personel there. Once more the Sith will rule the galaxy and we shall have peace."
"As you wish." said Asura as he bowed and left.
(Half an Hour Later)
Asura martched with about two divisions of Republic soldiers behind him up the steps of the Jedi Temple on Tython and they went inside.
Colonel Malcom stood on board the bridge of the Aegis when the holocom went off.
"Put it through." said Malcom as he turned to the holocom as a cloaked Tenebrae appeared on it.
"Colonel Malcom, the time has come." said Tenebrae, "Execute Order 66."
Everyone on the bridge looked at each other then at the Colonel, who appeared to be regretting what he was about to do.
"As you wish, Chancellor." said Malcom as he signled for the call to end and took the guards with him.
Satele and Tasiele looked up and turned toward the doors.
"I sense it too." said Tasiele as they both rushed out of the room and darted for the hanger.
The turned a corner and came face to face with Malcom and a bunch of other troops behind him. Satele sent out a Force Wave that sent them all flying down the hallway and she ran after her mother.
"Seal off the hanger!" shouted Malcom over the intercom.
Satele and Tasiele arrived at the hanger and Satele activated her lightsaber and held off the troops while Tasiele got one of the star ships going. After two minutes, Malcom arrived in the hanger with his troops just as Satele got on the ship and looked at him before the loading ramp closed and they flew out of the hanger. She ran to the cockpit and took a seat just as Tasiele brought the ship into lightspeed and they sped off.
Master Orgus felt something off behind him and and instant later, he decapitated the two soldiers that had their guns pointed at him.
Master Kiwiks turned her head slightly and then faced forward again.
"What is it, Master?" asked her Padawan, Kira Carson.
"Kira, when I give the signal, make a break for the ship." ordered Master Kiwiks, "Don't question it and just do it."
After a few short minutes, they both heard guns cocking.
"Now!" she shouted as she cut off the barrels of the guns with her lightsaber then struck down both soldiers while Kira ran.
Asura entered the Council Chambers of the Jedi Temple and looked around at all the younglings that were hiding.
"Master, what is going on?" asked a young boy.
Asura drew the lightsaber he had recieved from Kin and activated it.
(Ten Minutes Later)
Asura put the Rogue Shadow in orbit around Brentaal IV and held his hand out to it. He began to slowly make his hand into a fist and saw the cracks appear on the planet's surface. He then clenched it and the entire planet shattered.
Satele grabbed her chest and took several deep breaths while Tasiele looked and her.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"Death." said Satele in horror, "I could feel death. It was like billions of lives were just lost in a single instant as they cried out in agony. We need to get to the Jedi Temple. Can you still fight?"
Tasiele nodded and charted a course.
"There seems to be a signal telling all Jedi to return to the Temple." said Tasiele.
"I sense a trap." said Satele as she pulled out her sparring lightsaber and gave it to her mother, "We have to be careful."
(Ten Minutes Later)
Asura made a quick stop on the Spirit of Vengeance where he had put Elie, Talon, Ranmaru and R2 in Mandalore's care. Elie ran into Asura's arms and looked up at him.
"What's going on?" she asked in fear.
"The Jedi have tried to overthrow the Republic." said Asura.
"I can't believe that." said Elie.
"I saw Master Meetra attempt to assassinate the Chancellor myself." said Asura.
"What are you going to do?" asked Elie.
Asura turned away at this.
"I will not betray the Republic." said Asura as he glared at several of the guards, "Tell Mandalore I want him to train Talon as a Mandalorian until the next champion of the Great Hunt is declared then she is to go with them. And get Elie and Ranmaru back to Coruscant safely."
The guards saluted Asura as he headed back to the Rogue Shadow.
"Come on, Artoo." said Asura as R2 followed him onto the ship.
(Five Minutes Later)
Lazarus surveyed the damage done by the quake and quickly turned to her left and used tutaminus to block the Force Lightning shot at her. She panted as Asura lowered his left hand for a moment before continuing the attack. Lazarus ran at him and continued to dodge while she drew her lightsaber and activated it. Asura dodged her few swings before catching her arm and throwing her over his shoulder. Lazarus landed on her feet and spun around while throwing a Force Push.
Asura knocked it away and drew his Darksaber in a reverse grip and ran at her as they each went into their favored styles of Djem So and Shien respectively. They dueled evenly until Asura threw a large piece of rubble at her and knocked her against one of the pillars that held the trams up. Lazarus staggered for a moment then blocked the Darksaber before parrying it as Asura tried to reach her when she went aroudn the pillar. She jumped up onto the tram tracks and Asura glared up at her. He pulled her off balance with the Force and she caught onto the edge.
Asura jumped onto the the the edge of the tracks and swiped at Lazarus's hands. Lazarus kept swinging her body to turn and dodged the strikes before Asura took a moment to glare down at her. She jumped over Asura as she drew her lightsaber back into her hand and spun around the moment she landed to strike Asura but was blocked. He pushed her back and they glared at each other. Asura then went in and Lazarus got on the defensive. She took a swing at Asura's head but he ducked under it and spun around as she passed him.
Lazarus started backing Asura up toward the other side of the tracks and Asura kicked her away but drew her back to him almost instantly with the Force. Lazarus grabbed Asura's free hand and twisted it behind his back when he elbowed her in the face and she kicked him in the back of the knee. Asura staggered toward the edge before he spun into a blade lock and Lazarus pushed him to the very edge. Asura struggled to keep his balance and managed to manipulate the blade lock so that they were both on the edge. Asura tried kicking Lazarus in the side of the ribs but was caught. She smirked at him then threw him over the edge.
Asura fell to the ground and rolled out of the way of Lazarus as she jumped down. He rolled onto his back and kicked Lazarus in the head when she bent over him, making her stagger back against one of the support beams for the tracks above. He jumped to his feet and pulled the Darksaber back into his hand and grabbed Lazarus by the throat with the Force. Lazarus struggled to breathe when she noticed a speeder coming toward them. She flicked her wrist and the speeder plowed into Asura. He broke the windshield and rolled off the side while Lazarus landed on her feet and caught her breath. She grabbed her lightsaber as Asura got up and ran off with a burst of Force Speed. Asura grabbed his Darksaber and ran after her with the same technique.
Lazarus ran into an alley and turned around just as Asura tackled and mounted her. He then started punching and hammering her in the face with his mechanical arm. Lazarus looked off to the side and waved her hand quickly, causing a metal cable to wrap tightly around Asura's neck. She grabbed both ends and began strangling him. Asura got out with a burst of Force Lightning through the wire and Lazarus jumped back. Asura tore the chain off his neck and they both began fighting each other with Teräs Käsi.
Lazarus managed to pin Asura against the wall and pulled his left arm out of its socket before she turned and her lightsaber flew into her hand. She turned around just as Asura jabbed at her in the windpipe. She staggered back as Asura drew his Darksaber again and they both activated their weapons. They started dueling again before Lazarus knocked Asura down. He noticed a bucket of oil next to him and threw it it Lazarus's face. She spat the horrible liquid out of her mouth and wiped her eyes to see that Asura had gone. She sensed him close by and ran after him with Force Speed.
She ran to the docks and looked around a little before she ducked and spun to her right to dodge Asura's strike to the head. They both dueled down a pier with Asura gaining the clear upper hand as he went to using Vaapad. He forced Lazarus against the railing and knocked her lightsaber out of her hands. He began kicking her down the pier and shocked her as she tried to crawl away. When she reached the edge of the pier, Asura knelt down on her back and glared down at her. He grabbed the back of her head and Lazarus screamed in pain as Asura began using Force Drain on her.
The former Jedi noticed something off and got off Lazarus as he saw her regress to the age of twelve. Asura looked down on the weakened Lazarus with pity and dropped a shoto next to her.
"I'm giving you a chance to live." said Asura in disgust as he turned away from Lazarus, who looked up at him, "If you wish to stop the Emperor from killing everyone on Coruscant, I suggest you stop him before he can address the Senate. Should I see you again, I will kill you."
He then stormed off as Lazarus, now a young girl, picked up the shoto and stared at Asura as he darted away with Force Speed.
