Well I hate the holidays, yeah that's allnlets get to this chapter. Sorry if it's short

Jaces POV

We were all four sitting in a crowded restaurant, I was sitting next to Clary and holding her hand. "So Jace" Jocelyn looked at me "who all is in your family". She smiled comforting, as if feeling bad for being so cold earlier.

" There is Max who you heard was eight almost nine, Izzy who is about a year younger than me, Clarys age. Then my parents Maryse and Robert, though they are seperating. Then I had an older brother Alec, he was killed in action".

Jocelyns face flushed white " Oh Jace, I'm sorry about that, I shouldn't have asked".

I was kind of staring into space when Clary squeezed my hand "oh.. No it's ok, he was my brother but died saving me, I'm proud to tell you about him".

I saw Luke open his mouth to say something but suddenly there were tons of crashes and bangings, almost explosions.

Clary's POV

We were all sitting, chatting when a noise only to be described as a China store in an earthquake came crashing through the restaurant. Every one in the place looked to the source of noise. Some one had dropped about twenty just washed dishes creating a horrid noise of combustion.

Suddenly I was aware of Jace's stiff in mine. Silently cursing myself out for not realizing how Jace might be I turned to him. He was staring down with his hand holding the cup and squeezing it with a pressure that turned his hands white.

Somehow he managed not to hurt my hand, afraid he was going to break the glass I knew I had to get him to let go. Not caring my parents were watching us I slipped my hand out of Jaces and forced him to look at me.

"Jace look at me, we are in a restaurant, I'm here and my parents. You need to let go of the cup Jace, it's about to break youre safe here". I placed my hand on the hand Jace was holding the cup with, I rubbed circles in is knuckles using my thumb.

Slowly his grip loosened and he started blinking, taking deep breaths. I smiled "it's ok, some waiter just dropped a bunch of plates".

He looked down again, but this time it seemed sad he muttered softly almost inaudible "im sorry Clary".

I sighed "Jace it's ok, you're not perfect". I looked to my parents motioning we were going on a walk, the complied with a nod.

Come on Jace, let's go walk, I know a park that's fairly close". He took a deep breath and grabbed my hand, we walked out my shoulder to his bicep.

The walk to the park was silent, it was about dark when we got there so it was empty. Jace took a seat at one of the benches and softly tugged me over to sit next to him. "Clary im so sorry, I must be such an embarrassment to you, I couldn't even handle some smashing plates".

His shoulders wee slumped and his hair shielding his face. I pulled back hair from the side of his face and he turned to me slightly "Jace I could never be ashamed or you, you are so amazing is everything you do, you saved lives. I will never be ashamed of a side effect from saving lives. Because you are more than that".

Even in the dusk his hazel eyes shimmered with gold as I pressed a soft kiss to his lips and layed my head on his chest.

He kissed my forehead and picked me up just enough to sit on his lap and wrap his arms around me.

"Jace?" I questioned, I answered with a moan "are we just gonna stay here? I mean we have a park to ourselves". He smiled slyly "what do you want to finally be able to reach the monkey bars?" I tried to hide a smile but failed and just slapped his chest.

"Well I was going to suggest a race of who could climb the rock wall quickest but that my just not be fair". Jace laughed " of course it wouldn't be fair, I could climb that with you on my back and still beat you. Hell you're so small I could run a mile carrying you".

He decided to prove this by picking me up bridal style "Jace seriously let me down" he chuckled and started walked towards the steps to a platform and a slide. "Jace?" I quetioned as he started walking up the steps. He just chuckled "calm down Clary I was just bringing you up here"

When Jace set me down I could feel the hard plastic up against my back, the coolness reaching through my blouse. Soon Jace was laying next to me, the warmth of his side fighting to chill of the air.

He put his arms around my shoulders and under my head, he pulled me close and I took hold of the hand that rested on his chest.

We just sat there for what seemed like hours but when I looked at my phone we had only been there 45 minutes. "Jace" I groaned into the side of his neck "yes Clare?". I groaned "one: don't call me that, two: is already 8:00 we should probably head back to my parents house. It's a twenty minute walk".

"Fine, we better hurry, it's getting chilling" Jace kissed my forehead and sat up. "The sky's beautiful above but nothing can compare to who's beside". I sat up and kissed his jaw softly "you are so amazing".

Alright guys I'm sorry this chapter is a bit short but it's a cute fluffy one and I like it. Yeah I'll try to get another one up soon but I'll be busy
