Lily walked out the door after saying goodbye to her Mother and Father.
" So, what're we doing today?" She asked as she flopped down on the grass next to the Marauders.
"Well, we thought that we'd just-" Remus started, but he was soon interrupted by Sirius.
" Ask you a couple of questions about your self." Sirius finished with a smirk. Lily smirked back.
"Bring It on." She said challengingly.
"Fave color?"
"Blue."
"Fave animal?"
"Deer."
Full name?"
"Lillianna Rose Evans." She said through gritted teeth. "But if you ever call me that I'll curse you until people can't tell the difference between you and Bubbotuber Puss!" The boys stopped laughing immediately.
" Ex-Boyfriend." James cringed at Sirius' question.
"Dylan Grant."
"Fave fruit?"
"Apple."
"Cutest boy here?"
"James." Lily said with a blush. James also blushed. Sirius laughed.
"Alright Sirius! Can we do something else now?" Remus asked, to save lily and James form their humiliation.
"LILY! BREAKFAST IS READY!" Her Mother's voice rang out. Lily looked at them sympathetically.
"Sorry! I gotta go, I'll see you afterwards?" They nodded and Lily scurried inside.
"Hello Mum, hello dad! What're we having?" Lily asked politely.
"Bacon and eggs and pancakes with toast." Lily's mother told her. BANG!
"Sounds good, Jackie." Sirius said as he walked through the kitchen and sat down next to Lily. James sighed and sat down too, on the other side of her. Remus came in, sighing.
"Sorry to intrude, again, Jackie." Remus apologized. Jackie beamed at him.
"No problem, Remus. PETUNIA! GET DOWN, NOW! And we thought Lily was the late sleeper." Jackie mumbled.
"I am. Someone woke me up, though…" She said shoveling eggs into her mouth. The boys stared.
"Haven't changed a bit, I see." Petunia said, coming downstairs. Lily shook her head and continued to eat.
"Lily, you eat like Sirius, and that's saying something." Remus told her. Sirius looked offended.
"Wuht's Tat sponed t meen" He said through a mouth full of eggs and bacon. Lily poured syrup all over her pancakes, eggs, and bacon.
"But have the taste buds of James, I see." Lily shrugged and stuffed her mouth. It was 10 minutes later when she was finally full. She had had 6 pancakes, 15 pieces of bacon, 3 pieces of toast, and a bunch of eggs. Sirius looked a bit put out.
" You ate more than I did." He whimpered.
"Get over It." She said. Petunia rolled her eyes as everyone laughed at what Lily said.
"James, wanna go to the Park with me?" She asked, doing the puppy dog eyes. James smiled.
"Sure. Lily you wanna come?" Petunia tensed up and glared at Lily who smiled and said yes.
"Remus, Sirius, you wanna come?" She asked politely.
"Yeah." Sirius said.
"Yes, please." Remus said. Lily got up and everyone gaped at her.
"What?" She asked, confused. Sirius pointed to her flat stomach.
"Where'd all your food go?" He asked amazed. Lily looked down at herself. She was so used to just being able to eat and not get fat that she didn't notice anything.
"I ate It." She told him, looking at him weirdly. Her Mother walked into the room.
"Jackie! Look at her stomach! It's flat! And she just ate more than me!" Sirius said. Her Mother sighed as she looked at her Daughter.
"It runs in my part of the family. But I guess It just adds to her." She explained.
"It does not add! Do you know how hard It is to go on dates? Or eat with sophisticated people?!" Lily asked them incrediously.
"What sophisticated people would wanna eat with you anyways?" Petunia sneered. Everyone stared at her, they had never seen this side to her before. Lily, however, ignored her. Petunia's face burned.
"Wow Petunia. That was pretty mean." James said, to break the awkwardness. Petunia looked down in shame. Remus decided that he should get everyone off the topic.
"Um, shall we go to the park?" They all got up and left in silence until Sirius said,
"So Lily, you're going to Hogwarts in a little bit. What would you say if us boys showed you around?" Sirius said, grinning broadly at her. She grinned back.
"Sure." She said.
"What school did you used to go to?" Sirius asked her. Lily looked at him as if he were insane. Remus groaned and James slapped his forehead at his friend's stupidity.
"Beauxbatons." She said simply. Sirius' eyes widened as he realized how stupid he had made himself look.
"Kinda obvious, seeing as she spoke French." James whispered to Sirius and he ran to catch up with Lily.
"Are you excited about being a Hogwarts student in just a month?" He asked her. Lily pondered on it.
"I guess I am, but school is school, you know?" Lily admitted looking up at him with a smile. (He's taller than her, of course) James smiled down at her. The way Petunia described her, you would've thought she was a brat. Screaming, getting her own way, strutting around like she owned the place, wearing horrible outfits that showed too much skin… But Lily was none of that. She was smart, pretty, nice, listener, fun, up for anything, hot, curvalicious (as Sirius put It), a teaser, and a loyal friend. James might try to ignore his feelings, but that wouldn't mean that he doesn't know that they're there, and he knew that he was ever so rapidly falling in love with Lily Evans.
3 weeks Later…
Lily walked up to James' House and knocked. The boys had left a week ago. James' Mum, Renalda, answered It. She smiled warmly at Lily. She noticed that her and James had gotten even closer than Petunia and him were.
"Hello Rena!" Lily said cheerfully. She never felt uncomfortable with calling grownups by their first names. That's what they were for, right?
"Hello Lily! James is up in his room right now." She told her, moving aside to let Lily in. Lily smiled at her as she ran up the stairs.
"Thanks, Rena!" She called, her voice fading. Renalda just smiled at she went back to making dinner.
Lily reached James' room and plopped down on his bed where he was sitting, doing nothing.
"Hello J-Man!" She said teasingly. He grinned at her.
"Hi Lils, now would you please get off of me?" He asked her. Lily pretended to think about it.
"Nope! I like this spot. Feels good." She said, putting her elbows on his chest to prop her head up.
"Petunia's coming over in a little bit too, isn't she? I would enjoy it if we weren't going to be walked in on your Sister." He said. Lily put her face up to his.
"Really?" She asked him. James brought his face even closer, until their noses were touching.
"Really." He confirmed. All it took was a couple of seconds and they were snogging fiercely. Lily had gotten off of him and they were sitting on his bed, snogging like there was no tomorrow. The door creaked open and neither kids noticed. James could've sworn that he saw Petunia, but dismissed it. And if It was Petunia, she would have enough sense to come back later, wouldn't she? He forgot all about his thoughts of Petunia as Lily moved closer to him, playing with the hairs on his neck. When they finally pulled away as oxygen was needed, James couldn't help but feel happier than he had in a long time. Lily was excited. Her first kiss with James! Wow… She had had a crush on him for a while now. Okay.. it was over a crush rank, but to know that he liked her back? That feeling was indescribable. She bit her lip and blushed.
"I-I'll see you later, I guess." There was an awkward silence.
" Yeah." James said. Lily gave him a oeck on the lips before hurrying out of his room. She walked down the stairs to where Renalda stood.
"Really! What was going on in there? Petunia ran out of the house crying!" Lily looked at her sharply.
"Petunia was here?" She asked. Renalda looked at her confused.
"Yeah, didn't you know?" She asked but Lily was already out the door. Lily ran to her home where she saw her sobbing on the couch, her Mum comforting her.
"Petunia-" Lily started but got cut off.
"Save It, Freak." She said. Liliy was hurt and her Mum was livid.
"LILLIANNA ROSE EVANS, WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR SISTER?!" she demanded.
"I kissed James." She said quietly. Her Mother's eyes widened as she understood the situation fully. Lily and Petunia both liked James, but James liked Lily.
"Kissed? Mum1 They were snogging each others mouth dry!" She said as she went into a fresh sob.
"Lily, how could you?" Her mother asked her quietly and softly.
"I didn't know that she was there!" Lily said, tears falling down her own face. Lily ran up to her room and sobbed hardly into her pillow. Someone walked through the door and closed it gently.
"Lily…" Her mother said gently. Lily didn't move. "Lily…" Her mother tried again. This time Lily lifted her face up, It was red and Blotchy.
"What?" She asked. She already knew her mother didn't support her with James, but now she came back?
"Liliy, I'm sorry. I know you like him, but I was too concerned about Petunia's feelings to do anything about yours at the moment. I was rude and I'm sorry. But the worst kind of feeling that a girl can get is heartbreak. Think about that, Lily." Lily did.
With James…
James walked down the stairs feeling cheerful. He grinned at him Mom.
"What happened up there? Petunia came running out of the house crying and then I told Lily and she went after her." James looked confused. Then he got it. He did see Petunia open the door. But the reason why she was crying was a mystery to him.
"Mum, I just snogged Lily Evans and It felt wonderful." His Mother laughed at James' dreamy face. James sudden;y felt embarrassed and snapped out of his trance. "Um, I'm gonna go check on Petunia." He told him Mum, feeling hot in the face.
James knocked on the door to the Evans' House. Jackie answered it.
"Hullo James." She said politely.
"Hullo, Jackie." He said just as politely "Is Petunia there? My mum said she left the house crying." He said, an apologetic tone.
"Yes, she is, but she's not in a state to see at the moment." She said. James smiled sadly. "But Lily's here." She told him. James' face brightened.
"Thanks, Jackie." He told her as he ran up to Lily's room. He could hear sobbing coming from Petunia's room and he felt sad for her, but he continued to Lily's room. He could hear sniffles coming from it and he ran through the door (not literally) and hugged her. She sobbed on his shirt while he comforted her. She pulled away after a while.
"I-It's all m-m-my Fault!" She said as she started to cry again. James patted her back and Lily stopped crying after a minute.
" She liked you a lot and I was snogging you!" james was ina daze.
"Petty likes me?" Lily nodded. "Oh no…" he said as he remembered that he'd seen her walk through the door and see him snogging her little sister, who was almost two months older than him. "So let me get this straight; Petunia likes me," He looked at Lily and she nodded. "I like you," Lily smiled. "And you like me?" He asked her Lily blushed a little and nodded. "Blimey. I think of Petunia as a friend…" He told himself mostly. Lily sat there as James paced back and forth.
"I'm gonna have to talk to her and tell her the truth." He said confidently.
