'Edward.'
'Edward.'
'EDWARD!'
'Jasper if you don't leave me alone I will tell Alice that you spend majority of your lunch break in HMV.' I chuckled into my pillow.
'You wouldn't. Oh look there's Bella.'
'What? Where?' I shouted whilst jumping up from my bed to the window. 'Not cool man.'
'I'm sorry, that was a low blow, and anyway you're up now so let's get moving.'
'Seriously it's like what nine in the morning and you want to decorate your room? Just because your pixie girlfriend told you to?'
'What exactly were you going to do today apart from sleep, eat and mope over B? And for your information she suggested that my room could do with brightening up she didn't tell me to do it. Now get up before I throw your phone out the window.'
'I don't mope I just think about her a lot.' I mumbled as he walked out of my room. Ok so I mope, but wouldn't if you messed up so badly? I automatically went to my phone and typed out today's message.
Good Morning. I'm decorating Jasper's room today. Hope you have a good day.
One tick popped up by the message. It had been sent; I stared at the phone wishing for two ticks, just so I knew she had read one message. Nothing, that one tick irritating me till I couldn't take it anymore and closed the application. Another day of being ignored, but I deserved it.
After I had washed and dressed in painting clothes Jasper set me to work painting his room, while he 'supervised' which was watch a re-run of Project Runway and shout when I missed a bit, he was so easily influenced by Alice. Suddenly I felt the floor tremble and I knew exactly who would come bounding through the door in less than 5 seconds, my big brother Emmett.
'Hey guys, whoa Jasper, seriously Project Runway?' he boomed.
'Hey Em' we shouted in unison.
'I'm not watching, it's just background noise.'
'Sure, whatever you say Jazz.' He smirked and mouthed 'WTF' to me.
'Alice.' I chuckled.
'Ah talking of the little ones, pizza tonight at their place, I tried to get you in Edward but all I got was the finger.' He looked so sad.
'That's fine I'll probably still be here anyway painting.'
'Well I'm sure our little pixie will be up here inspecting, but one thing why are you painting it the same colour as before?'
I laughed so much I almost fell off the ladder, Jasper's face was priceless, and that however didn't beat the tantrum after.
'It is not the same colour, the last one was called Muddy Puddle, and this one is Cookie Dough. Total difference! Do you two not know anything about interior design?'Emmett and I fell to the floor with laughter as Jasper looked up to the ceiling clutching his head.
'But Jasper neither do you, you're a History teacher.' Emmett said with a dead pan expression.
'Oh your right, what am I doing? Alice is going to kill me.' He shouted as he sunk to his knees, we all took one look at each other and burst out laughing all over again.
'I haven't laughed that much in months.' I stated when we had all calmed down.
'Then go talk to Forks then.'
'I can't do that Emmett, I have seen her face to face in four months.'
'You need to tell her face to face rather than that crappy messenger, I've seen her when she gets a message from you; she kind of glares at the screen, then debates what to do and ends up throwing her bag. I'm telling you if you were face to face she would jump straight back in your arms.'
'Yeah right, Emmett was you not there that fateful day? She said if she ever saw me again I wouldn't have a face. 'I flinched remembering her face as she walked away.
'Oh come on that was four months ago, you can't be that afraid of her.'
'I don't know. I do want to see her; I just think it's better if I stay out of way. So she can move on.'
'She's not moving on.' Jasper mumbled.
'Right, enough is enough, you love her right?' Emmett sounded serious all of a sudden, serious Emmett was bad news.
'Of course I do, more than anything.'
'So tell her, tell her everything that you feel, and in the end if she doesn't reply then you know that there's no going back and you both move on with the help of us.'
'You know for once I think Emmett's right, it couldn't hurt. 'Jasper rose to his feet. 'Drink anyone?'
I shook my head and walked in to my room, Jasper was now kitchen tapping away on his phone, probably to Alice. I was glad he had her, I really was, and I just wish I had my girl. I slumped onto my bed pulling out my sketchbook and started doodling; of course it was her, my world. I remember the first day we met I was walking out of campus my arms full of loose drawings and sketches, the wind was blowing a chill across the city and I was silently praying I could hold everything down till I got to MoMA. At that time I found anything and everything inspirational, the wind had just picked up a leaf and was carrying it across my vision, I closed my eyes trying to burn the image into my brain to sketch later, but something crashed into me blowing my thoughts and papers from me.
'I am so sorry! Oh my gosh your papers!' the most beautiful girl screamed as my papers flew down the street. One minute I was staring unable to move at her chasing my papers, the next she was on the sidewalk, my papers underneath her small frame.
'Are you ok?' I rushed over to her.
'I'm fine, clumsy but fine, at least I caught your papers.' She giggled.
I helped her grab all the papers and I stashed them under my arm, I offered her my hand as she rose from the pavement.
'Thank you for saving my papers, sorry I don't know your name?'
'It's Forks, I mean its Bella, definitely Bella.' She blushed, wow, could this girl be real.
'Forks? You can't be the famous Forks? Alice's roommate?' I questioned.
'Um the one and only.' She gave a small smile.
'Oh sorry, you must be thinking I'm a stalker or something, I'm Edward. Jaspers roommate.'
'I sort of guessed, Forks is what Alice called me since the day I arrived here. I don't actually answer to my real name anymore, hence me telling you my name was Forks.'
'It's good nickname, Washington State right?'
'Indeed. The rainy cold Washington State.'
'Can't be as cold as here, let me get you a coffee as a thank you for saving hours of work.'
'Um, I should really... sure why not, the library will still be there later.' She smiled and we set off to Starbucks. MoMA and NYU library forgotten.
The day dream came to an end and reality came crashing back down, I felt like half of me was missing, except I knew where it was. With Bella. Maybe Emmett was right if I loved her I should let her go. I pulled out my phone and typed my last message to my Bella.
Isabella, this is the last message I will write to you, I can see now that you want nothing to do with me. Although it may be hard, I will stop and let you move on without me annoying you every day. Just know that my world has stopped without you, you will always be my everything, and they say that if you love something you should let it go. I'll let you go now.
Forever yours.
Edward. Xx
One tick, that dreaded one tick, I scrolled to the top of the messages to read through them one last time, before I let her go. When I reached the top I noticed the first few messages had 2 ticks, then as I got closer to the bottom all I could see were ticks. My heart started beating so fast I thought it was going to explode through my chest. Just as I reached the last message, my phone lit up another tick on the last message, I couldn't quite believe that this was real. She had read all my messages within the last ten minutes, just as my hope began to sink, a typing icon appeared by her name and my phone alerted me to a new message. I closed my eyes, preparing myself for the worst, let her go Edward. My eyes opened and once again she took me by surprise, I looked at the message and read it out loud to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
'Don't let me go. B xxx'
And then I did something I don't think I've ever done. I jumped up and down and screamed like a girl.
