*A year and seven months later*
Lita was cleaning up after the twins second birthday party with the help from Victoria. Their birthday was a couple of days ago but it was the weekend now so she, along with John, decided to throw the twins a party on the weekend with their friends and family. Both of Lita's and John's parents were there as well as Dave, Victoria, and their son. Randy, Trish, Jeff, and John's brothers were also present as well as two of the twin's friends who the twins liked to play with and their parents. The twin's playmates and John's brothers as well as Trish, Jeff, and Randy had already left.
"You can go now," Lita started to say to her sister-in-law, "I'm just going to put the rest of the things away and I'll join you."
"You sure you don't need anything else?" Victoria wanted to make sure before she did leave the red-head.
Lita looked around the kitchen, "No, the living room didn't get messy and I'm pretty sure Dave and John are done outside. And the kitchen is fine, I'm just going to finish these last little things up myself, so no. Thanks for the help."
"Alright, I'll just see if the boys need anything."
She returned her attention back to getting the left over cake and some other stuff back in the proper place after Victoria left to go outside. She went back to the sink and started to wash another dish that she discovered while putting everything away. She slightly jumped and let out a gasp when she felt arms wrap around her from behind her. "Woah calm down. It's just me."
"Don't do that again or else I'll have to kill you."
"No you won't. You love me too much to do that."
"Keep telling yourself that." She was still facing the sink as she was trying to wash the dish. "You know, this is kind of getting hard-"
"Don't care," he said as he started to kiss her neck.
"-with your arms around me like that, so leave me alone so I can finish this." He still wouldn't stop. "John, there are people present. People that could walk in. Stop."
"No," he said as he continued the assault on her neck, "How about we tell them to leave and then me and you can have our own party?"
"Your parents aren't leaving until tomorrow and they're staying with us, so no."
"We could tell them to go somewhere else-"
"Rude."
"-or we could go somewhere else and they could stay here with the twins."
"Please stop," Lita plead even though at the same time she didn't want him too. But she didn't want one of their parents to walk in. That would be embarrassing and awkward on so many levels.
"Ugh Cena. Get off of my sister. At least in front of me." Dave groaned as he made in from outside into the kitchen along with Victoria which made Lita push John back away from her and she finally turned around.
"Get a room," Victoria said.
"We have plenty," John said, "Like this kitchen."
"I didn't need to hear that," Dave glared at John. "Or see what was just going on."
Victoria rolled her eyes. "Grow up. She's pregnant and this time they didn't use artificial insemination so that can only mean one thing." The older woman winced when she realized what she just said. "Sorry Li."
John was shocked, he turned around to face Lita. "You're pregnant?" She nodded. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I was actually going to later tonight, but I guess loud mouth over here just did."
"How does she know?"
"I was puking at work the other day and she was there. She went through this like a year ago so she was familiar. Not like I could lie."
He raised a brow. "Did you and Trish plan this so you could be pregnant at the same time?"
She rolled her eyes at him. "I'm only probably a month pregnant, if even that. She's six months. So no, we didn't plan this."
"Congratulations," Dave started to say, "At least this time you're in love. Actually, you were back then too, so at least you're not afraid to admit it this time."
Victoria nudged him. "Shut up."
Lita rolled her eyes as she walked up to her brother. "At least you're not complaining about it. And hey, you don't even look like you want to kill John this time. Good job. How far you have come. I'm so proud of you." She patted him on the cheek. "Troy is going to be proud that his daddy doesn't act like a monster anymore," she said referring to Dave and Victoria's four month old son.
It was Dave's turn to roll his eyes. "Shut up."
"Where are you taking me?" Lita asked for what seemed like the billionth time to John, later that night.
"Be patient, woman. Two more minutes."
"Don't call me woman." She looked around outside of the car John was driving, but she couldn't really make where they were since it was dark even though there were some street lights on. "I'm tired. I just want to sleep."
"We're here," John finally said another minute or so later as he parked the car and got out of it with the red-head following suit.
"At a park."
"Not just any park," he said as he led her to a bench.
"The park we met," She recalled how they met at that very same park twenty-five years ago when they became friends. She fell off the monkey bars and he helped her up. And that started their friendship which grew into more twenty-five years later. Of course it wasn't the same exact park as the equipment was replaced since the old stuff was obviously going to get rusty and old after years.
He nodded. "Yea."
"Why are we here?" Lita asked as the two of them sat down on the bench. She saw the look on John's face so she decided to add something before he could say anything. "I mean, I'm really tired."
He nodded. "I know. Don't worry. We'll go back home soon." It was quiet as the two enjoyed the night breeze. "I love you."
She smiled. "I love you too."
"I'm happy we decided to give it a go."
She nodded in agreement. "Me too." Lita was reluctant at first because she was scared, but at the same time she knew she wanted this and didn't want to regret it, so she decided she was willing to give their relationship a chance. Of course all wasn't smooth. They did get into their usual bickering and occasional fights, but they wouldn't be John and Lita without it.
"When I'm having a crappy day at work or for some other reason, all I have to do is come home and see you and the twins and I forget everything. You three make me happy. Our little family... that's growing." He paused. He forgot everything he was going to say. He was nervous. "I just forgot everything I was going to say. I had this all planned out, but I never thought I would be this nervous. This was supposed to happen next week, but then today when I found out you're pregnant, I couldn't wait." He stopped rambling and then got up from the bench.
"What are you doing?" She asked surprised as she followed suit even though she felt like she knew. Her suspicions were confirmed when he got down on one knee in front of her. "Oh my God," she whispered.
"This past year and half has been the best of my life. I can't imagine growing old with anyone else, nor do I want to. I know you're the only one I want to share the rest of my life with. Lita Christine Dumas, will you marry me?"
"Oh my God," she whispered once again. She was surprised, she wasn't expecting this. "Yes!" He got up after he slipped the ring on her finger and kissed her lightly hugging her. She pushed herself back a bit from him and lifted her hand so she could get a better look at the ring. "Is this the same ring you gave Maria?"
John frowned. "Why? Why would you bring that up?"
She broke into laughter. "Your face," she said through laughter, "That was fun."
"I'm glad that amused you." He kissed her cheek before he spoke up again. "Looks like we don't need that back up plan after all. We came to our senses before that had to happen," he said referring to the night almost three years ago when Lita first asked him to have a baby with her when she also brought up the fact they could get married to one another if neither of them was married by the time they turned thirty-five.
"Looks like it. Let's go home so we can tell the twins!" She exclaimed.
"They're probably sleeping now."
She shrugged. "We can wake them up."
He shook his head as they made it back to his car. "I love you."
"I love you too."
*The End*
Thanks for reading. Thanks for the reviews. What do you think? How was it?
I really hope you guys liked the ending and it didn't disappoint. First multi-chapter story to finish so if you think I could have done something better with the ending (like how I wrote it and not what happened), feel free to tell me because I do not want to mess up the ending of my other stories.
Once again, thanks for being awesome readers! :)
