Deadpool's Guide to Accidental Kidnapping
Finding Spiderman chained up, bloody and drugged up was not something that Wade Wilson was expecting to find in the middle of a large crime bosses (for a lack of a better word) dungeon. It throws Wade for a moment, blinking rapidly as if it would dispel the vision in front of him. It doesn't and Wade's stomach twists again.
"Spidey," Deadpool groaned as he worked the chains off Peter's wrists. He was hanging from the ceiling, his feet just brushing the floor. "Aunt May is going to kill me."
"S'thought you couldn't die," Peter slurred, his eyes barely fluttering open. That could have been because of the drugs. It also could have been because they were practically swollen shut. Wade hissed through his teeth. They had taken his mask. They had seen his face, seen how young he was and still, they chained him up and beaten him.
"You and I both know that Aunt May will find a way around that," Wade said darkly. The chains broke and Peter dropped to the ground, his knees buckling automatically.
"Whoa!" Wade caught Peter before he could slump to the fall. "Hey! No sleeping on the job."
"S'not," Peter slurred, struggling to get his feet under him.
"This is not the reunion I had in mind, Spidey," Wade grunted as he slung Peter's arm around his shoulders and wrapped an arm around his waist. Peter let out a small whine and Wade hushed him soothingly. "I was thinking more of the Pokémon re-match. One where you don't cheat."
"Didn't cheat. Kicked your ass," Peter murmured, voice fading as his body started to slacken further.
Wade started moving, carrying Peter as the kid had gone boneless, barely conscious. Deadpool huffed, disappointed that he had killed the crime lord and his goonies so quickly. They deserved to suffer after what they had done to Spidey.
Wade didn't like to get emotionally attached – he wasn't that guy. But there was something about Peter Parker that had Wade wanting to wrap him in bubble wrap and tucked away from the big bad world.
Peter had fallen unconscious by the time Deadpool came outside. He had lifted Peter (and Christ the kid was light) slinging him over his shoulder and jogged towards the taxi that was waiting nearby.
"Oh! Mr. Deadpool," Dopinder winced as he turned in his seat to watch him. "Oh my god, is he dead?"
"No," Wade huffed as he got Peter settled into the back seat. "He's breathing. I think. Hold on." He leaned forward and pressed his ear to Peter's chest. He heard the steady thump of a heartbeat and let out a breath of relief. "Yeah, he's still breathing."
"That's a lot of blood," Dopinder said, gazing at Spidey. He winced and let out a pained noise. "My seats."
"The blood is not the worst thing on your seats," Wade said as he slammed the door shut. His leather suit creaked as he moved. "Let's roll. First stop is a pharmacy. I cannot send Spidey home looking like this."
"My cousin is a vet," Dopinder said as he started up the taxi. "He could patch up Spiderman with no questions asked."
Wade opened his mouth to speak but paused. He titled his head, considering. "Has he worked on any spiders before?"
"Boss," FRIDAY's voice was urgent enough that Tony paused in the building he had been searching.
It had been two days since Peter Parker had fallen off the grid. Two days where Tony's stomach had been twisted in knots, his heart-breaking inch by inch with each hour that passed with no news as to his whereabouts.
Dark circles had taken up residence under his eyes, his skin sunken and pale. He hadn't slept since May's frantic call that Peter had never come home after patrol. Tony had pulled up Peter's tracking information, his heart sinking in his chest when he saw that the tracker had cut out and the suit had gone dark. It was as if Peter had disappeared – turned to dust and every particle scattered in the wind. Every Avenger had been out looking for Peter, taking shifts but so far nobody had found anything. Peter was a ghost.
"What is it, FRIDAY?" Tony asked, voice hoarse and echoing inside his helmet.
"I have found a 96.6% probability of Peter on surveillance cameras in Queens," FRIDAY said.
"What?" Tony sat up straighter, eyes widened as FRIDAY brought up a security camera feed of what seemed to be outside of a vet. His eyes narrowed as he took in the footage, a growl vibrating in his chest. "Is that Deadpool?"
"I believe it be so," FRIDAY said. "This was taken ten minutes ago."
Tony was already moving. He blasted out of the nearest window, plotting a course as FRIDAY displayed the address up on his screen.
"Rhodey!"
"Here, Tony," Rhodey's voice came through his coms. "I've almost finished searching the building. No sign of Peter yet. I'm sorry."
"Forget the building," Tony barked. "FRIDAY found him."
"Tony, repeat. Did you say you found Peter?" Steve's voice joined in over the comms.
"Sending you the address," Tony said. "I'm already on my way. Deadpool has him, at a vet."
"On my way," Rhodey said, voice clipped. "Two minutes behind you."
"Tony, please wait for us," Steve pleaded over the coms.
"I'm not leaving my kid with Deadpool any longer than I have to," Tony growled, ending the discussion.
Tony flew as fast as he ever had. When the vet came into view, Tony didn't bother slowing down. He barged through the door, flying through the lobby until he came skidding into the back room with a bang.
"Don't shoot!"
Tony held up his hands, chargers charged and ready to fire without hesitation.
"Awww crap," Deadpool groaned, head tilting back dramatically. "I forgot to call the dad."
"Get. Away. From. Spiderman," Tony growled through his teeth, taking a step forward. His gaze flickered to Peter, laid out on a steel table and his heart picked up double time.
The two men who were with Deadpool stepped back immediately, hands in the air. One of them was holding what looked like a needle and thread and ret hot anger flashed through his veins.
"What they hell are you doing?" Tony barked.
"Dopinder's cousin was fixing him up," Deadpool said, spinning around on the stool he was sitting on, seemingly unconcerned that Tony was about to shoot his head off.
"What did you do to him?" Tony demanded.
Deadpool stopped spinning. "Me? You think I did this to Spidey?"
"You kidnapped him," Tony barked, taking another step forward.
Deadpool let out a squawk. "I did not! Spidey's my Pokémon buddy! I would never hurt him."
"Then what the hell are you doing here?" Tony demanded.
"I found him at a crime lords' hideout," Deadpool explained. "He was not looking so hot and Dopinder here said his cousin was a vet."
"It's true," the guy Tony assumed was Dopinder said. "It was my suggestion."
"You didn't think to call me?" Tony growled, turning his attention back to the mercenary. He didn't trust Wade Wilson and he still wasn't convinced that he didn't have anything to do with Peter's disappearance.
"I forgot," Deadpool huffed. "And I was a bit preoccupied with him bleeding out in the back seat of Dopinder's taxi."
"You said the blood would come out!"
Tony lowered his hands and glared at the group. He touched his suit, letting it retreat from his body.
"Damn," Deadpool said, eyeing Tony. "My suit still had a zip."
Tony ignored him, stepping up to the steel table. His stomach clenched, his mouth going dry as he stared down at his kid. He was bloody and bruised and his heart clenched as he took in the damage. The only comfort was the small rise and fall of Peter's chest as he breathed. The kid's face was a mess, bloodied and bruised. His suit had been pulled down to his waist, a neat row of stitches on his left side where a large gash was.
"They drugged him," Deadpool said, the anger in his voice matching what Tony was feeling. "Chained him up. I'm not sure what their plan was with him."
"How did you know where he was?" Tony asked, glancing at the mercenary.
"Found him by accident," Deadpool admitted. He cocked his head at Tony. "Sorry, but they're all dead. Were before I found him. If I had known, I would have left you one."
Tony gave a sharp nod, turning back to Peter. His gaze flickered over him, anger still simmering under his skin and there was deep worry that made him want to throw up. Peter needed a hospital, now.
There was a loud bang and then Rhodey was in the room, guns up and ready to fire. "Tony?"
"Stand down," Tony said. "We're not shooting him today."
Rhodey's faceplate snapped back, his eyes narrowed on Deadpool. "What the hell has he done?"
"Saved Peter," Tony grunted. "He needs to be in the Medbay asap."
Rhodey took several heavy steps forward and he sucked in a sharp breath as he caught the sight of Peter. "Shit."
"Let's move him," Tony said. He whirled to Deadpool. "Make your way to the tower. I have questions for you."
Deadpool gave a lazy salute. "You got it."
Tony tapped his chest, the suit slithering over his skin until he was completely covered. He turned back to Peter, gently scooping the boy into his arms, hands shaking as he did. His heart thundered in his chest as he carried Peter towards the exit. He didn't know if Peter was going to be okay, what he had been through, but Tony was thankful, for once, that Peter was friends with Deadpool. He saved his kids life and for that Tony would be forever grateful.
Happy reading :D
