"And what, may I ask, do you think you're doing here ...?"
Whoops! The box of bezoars fell from my hand and hit the stone floor with a thud.
"Hello, professor Snape," I said mildly. "I was just looking for you."
"Miss Lovegood, what are you doing in my store?" Severus' eyebrow was raised so artificially high, it looked as though somone had drawn it on with black ink.
"I was trying to find you, Sir," I replied, feeling just a little nervous. I'd never been caught in his store before, though I'd been there many times.
"And why were you trying to find me?" The ink-eyebrow was terribly distracting, so I tried to find somewhere else to look. It was useless.
"I just wanted to ask you about these." I turned my back on him to rummage through the shelves. I'd seen it just as he walked in. Aha! I pulled out a box of green shoots with white berries.
"That is called Mistletoe, Lovegood," said Severus coldly without even waiting for me to speak. How rude of him!
"I know that, sir," I replied in earnest, showing him that at least one of us had manners. "But I was just wondering what they did in potions. The book wasn't very clear ..." My voice trailed off as the ink reappeared.
"They contain a juice known as 'Nargle', which is a highly potent narcotic. It makes you see things that are not there. Very dangerous, Lovegood, so I suggest you put it down."
"Oh, thank-you, sir. That's all I wanted to know!" I gave him a brief smile, then replaced the box and darted off. There was a DA meeting soon ...
