AN: I was bored so I just came up with this little one-shot, maybe more later on.
Tomorrow would be the last day Hermione would ever see Hogwarts. It felt odd leaving behind something so crucial to her. Without this colossal castle, she would have never met the most important people in her life. Harry and Ron. So naïve, but so sweet, they were her best friends. She took one last look at the magnificent room she had called home for all these years, and left quietly, looking for the rest of the trio.
She found them outside, having a ride on the quidditch pitch. Hermione smiled at all the memories that were floating in the stands. In first year, Quirrel bewitched Harry's broom. In third year, Harry saw Sirius in the clouds. Fourth year this field brought Voldemort back to life. Yes, this school had many memories. Most of them forgettable, but there were a precious few that meant so much. Everything had come to a screeching halt when Dumbledore died. It was like everyone's problems didn't matter because most likely the greatest man alive, wasn't alive anymore. The world mourned for weeks, but life moved on. And now, here they were again, at the quidditch field, having a good time. Just fooling around, acting like kids. Hermione knew that this was probably the last time they could act like kids, so why not have fun with it? She looked over and saw Harry, Ron, and Ginny wrestling around in the mud. Hermione ran over to them, and joined the dogpile.
After the antics were over and the three of them were done fooling around, they all gathered in the common room. At first it started as a normal conversation. Ron and Hermione bickering about something pointless, Harry trying to break it up, but then all got quiet. Not exactly an awkward silence, just friends enjoying each other's presence. Hermione was at peace in Ron's arms, just laying on the couch. "It's getting late. I'm going to go take a shower and get some rest. See you at the ceremonies Hermione, Ron." Harry got up from the chair and slowly made his way to the dorms. "You do realize that we're actually leaving tomorrow? No coming back…ever." Hermione finally said, lifting her head. "Yeah, I guess I always knew that, I just didn't want it to be true. I mean, between all of our misadventures, there wasn't really time to think about growing up, it sort of just…happened." Ron replied, also sitting up. "Yes I suppose you're right." Hermione said. "Not to mention not even a chance for a relationship." Ron mumbled just loud enough for Hermione to hear. "Excuse me? Lavender didn't seem to think so." Hermione said quite snottily. "Whatever you say Er-mi-own-knee. I'm sure your ickle Vikky-kins didn't think so either." Ron said sarcastically. "Don't you bring that up, Ron. We've talked about this. Viktor and I had no relationship whatsoever. Unlike Lavender, who constantly tried to suck your face off…?" Hermione trailed off suggestively. Ron laughed. "What on earth is so funny, Ronald?" "We're doing it again." He chucked out. "Yes, we are." Hermione also started laughing. Soon they were rolling on the floor crying from laughing so hard. After they had stopped, the two were leaning on the couch. "Hey Hermione?" Ron asked. "Yes?" "Promise to keep in touch after tomorrow?" "Of course." "No matter what?" "Yes, why?" "Because ever since the day I met you, I've wanted to do this." He leaned in and kissed her lightly on the lips. When Hermione initially got over the shock of Ron kissing her, she deepened the kiss. They let go, and Hermione softly said, "So have I."
