Disclaimer: Hn, right. I ran out of ideas. I dunno. If I owned it, it wouldn't be near as good as it is now.

Maybe… this will be my… second to last chapter for this story. Any protestors can send a reply. And tell me, why do you like it, or read it even? Wow, funny. This is a bit ironic since I'm wearing my shirt that says "If I want your opinion, I'll beat it out of you."

Chapter whatever one we're on…. Oh, 12.

Once more, it's Friday night. All are gathered at Kurai's house, this time in the kitchen, since the basement was more of a dungeon… It also helped that all the food was in the kitchen as well. They all gathered around the somewhat octagonal yet round table and waited for Dark to deal the cards. Kurai turned on the giant TV and The Nightmare Before Christmas began to play. She sang along while the others stared oddly at her.

"Boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like to see something strange? Come with us and you will see this, our town of Halloween…"

"Kurai, no." Satoshi said, taking his cards and studying them closely. "We don't need that, even if your voice matches theirs entirely…"

"Eh, let her sing. It'd be less hazardous for you… and all of us." Daisuke said. He seemed to be enjoying the song. "Krad? What do you think?"

"Give me a penny and I'll tell you."

Daisuke looked, puzzled at him. He didn't quite understand. Satoshi had the same look, and Dark looked at the two as if they were the morons and not him. "You know? A penny for your thoughts? Gawd, you people…!" Dark all but yelled.

"I'm feeling increasingly stupid today…" Satoshi mumbled, not really to anyone. He watched, confused, as Daisuke gave Krad a penny.

"Now are you happy? Tell me your thoughts." Daisuke leaned over across the table to get closer to Krad, which was very freaky to Krad, since he let no one that close by choice. Remember that Kurai isn't much of a choice… she's more of a leech.

"I think, no… I know that I will win this round." Krad said in his smug tone, and he had a grin to match.

"Krad!" Kurai got his attention… quickly.

"Yes?"

"I haven't even looked at my cards yet." She looked and laughed. "I know for a fact you can't beat my hand."

It took almost fifteen minutes of arguing plus five more minutes for the round to nearly come to and end. Now was the moment of truth. Neither Krad nor Kurai got rid of any cards when they had the chance. All others had folded and each waited for the other to show their cards. At the same time, they turned their cards to both reveal a pair of twos.

"Well, this is odd…" Krad looked from his hand to hers. "So how do we solve this? Who wins? Do we play another round?"

"Erm… I uh. I don't know." Kurai was clearly as puzzled and confused as Krad. The other two knew how to solve the problem; they just didn't want to tell.

And I'll stop there for now. I may get the rest done tomorrow. When I figure out how I want them to solve their problem. X3.
