'I don't know what to say to you, Shishou. I killed someone… I killed someone… what better punishment than death? I'd say I'm sorry but I'm not. This is exactly what I deserve. By the time you read this I will probably be on my way to the mountain top. I know you will want to save me but what good will that do? I'll be living with this guilt… I'm the cat… soon I would have been locked up anyway. Who will really care? My mother died because of me and so did Kyoko. I have no right breathing this air. Please forgive me. I caused you so much trouble while you raised me… I'm so horrible. I'm such a spoiled brat. I don't deserve to call you father… I don't deserve to say I love you… but, I love you, Dad.

Kyo'

Kazuma didn't have time to even think. Throwing the note on the table, he grabbed his coat and ran towards the mountaintop. 'Please be here,' he silently prayed, 'Don't jump.'

With each step he knew Kyo could be dying. With each step he knew Kyo could be walking up to the edge. As he finally reached the top, he say Kyo standing, staring blankly at the ground millions of feet below. His cheeks shone from the sun which probably meant that he had been crying.

"Kyo," He placed a hand on his sons shoulder, "Thank goodness."

Kyo turned and stared at him, "I don't you not to find me."

Kazuma let the tears begin to flow freely down his cheeks, "I couldn't let you die… not like this."

Kyo's eyes narrowed, "What the hell don't you understand?" he backed up, teetering on the edge, "I didn't want you to see this. Goodbye Shishou. Sorry for all of the…"

He didn't have time to finish his sentence because Kazuma had grabbed his arm, pulling him backwards into his chest.

"Oh god… oh god… Kyo…" Kazuma desperately clung to Kyo, one hand threading through his hair, the other gripping at his back. "Kyo… please… just…"

Kyo closed his eyes as the tears started coming… he didn't know what he was doing anymore… things were getting too difficult to handle. Kyo's hands balled into fists, grabbing the front of Kazuma's shirt as he allowed his face to be buried into Kazuma's chest.

"Shi… Shishou…"

Kazuma tightened his grasp, whispering Kyo's name, "Kyo… come home…"

Kyo moaned and allowed Kazuma to grab his hand, helping him move forward.

"Shishou… Nngh…"

Kazuma half carried him all the way back to the house easily. Once safely inside, Kazuma lay Kyo in his bed, covering him up with the warm blankets. Kyo snuggled in willingly, not taking his eyes off of his father,

"Shishou… stay with me."

Kazuma slid next to him, hugging him tightly, "None of this is your fault." he murmured, lacing his hands through Kyo's hair, lifting Kyo's head onto his chest. Kyo dangled his arm over Kazuma's waist and slowly closed his eyes in comfort,

"It is…" He whimpered.

"No… Kyo… she loved you… and she wouldn't want you to blame yourself," Kazuma stated softly, "Just like I love you. I don't want to see you hurting so much."

Kyo tried but it was becoming increasingly difficult to keep his drowsy eyes open, "I love you… protect me… from myself… Shishou… Shishou… Mmm…" With those last words, Kyo drifted off, enclosed warmly in Kazuma's protective embrace, knowing that Kazuma would be there when he woke up.

"I love you, Kyo. No one will ever take you from me," Kyo whispered, before also drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
