I guess its about how Cloud feels when he's deeply depressed and how Tifa the light that saved him from the path of destruction.
When I was drowning in darkness,
I lost sight of all the things that were important to me.

With no one to help me.
I searched for the light I still had in my heart,
It was weak and beginning to fade.
Then you held out your hand.
In the darkness you were a bright light,
That made made my hope grow.
The darkness was beginning to consume my heart,
But with your goodness and innocence you kept a firm guard,
And shielded it from all the pain and sorrow I felt before.
I was losing the battle with the everlasting darkness,
I was losing my heart,
But you handed me yours.
You gave me your body, heart and soul,
Everything you had to give so I would fade.
You gave me all your heart.
You pulled me up and saved me.
You were the light,
My light,
You were my light.
