Nobody can save me now

It is said that the ones who have a weak will and worst, a weak mind, are easy prey towards those who wisher soothing lies and venomous visions into the person's world. Those who are not sure of their own values, and those who doubt those around them and the feelings they harbor are the ones to fall into their dark and empty claws; just a new body, a new mind. A new host for them to devoir and destroy.

Another replaceable weak being that cannot even fathom to satisfy their wishes.

'Nobody can save you now.'

But they are not satisfied with just having a new vessel to eat at and destroy. No, they have a clear task set into their circuits, a task that has been set into stone ever since they have been set free from their previous vessel.

But this vessel was different.

Instead of losing itself in their poisonous whispering and just go to sleep in their most adored and desired of dreams; this vessel offered resistance. And what a resistance. It commanded them down, kept them under control and ordered them as he pleased.

And they obeyed him, like good dogs, and did any and whatever he desired. And they hated it. But they could not change anything, they could not oppose him. He was far too strong, too powerful for their liking.

But what could they do?

He ordered them to behave. And they did.

They acted as he desired, they listened to any command their master had told them. They did not fought with him because they so wanted to, but because he ordered them around. They had little choice after all? He was named The Shadow Master after all; he was king over the entire darkness.

But where did he come from?

Where did they all come from?

They were confused at these new peoples who could bend them at their will. Who were these new apparitions that could control them, order them as they pleased? They were the darkest and concentrated magic on the entire land of Runeterra; no other human being could ever fantasize to even witness their greatness without being corrupted.

But they were resistant to their corruption.

They had strong hearts, unchangeable minds and believed in their own strengths with everything they possessed. They trusted one another with the price of their own blood spilling on the ground. There were no other stronger values one can have; albeit what other humans thought.

Love. Trust.

Two traits all of them possessed. And two traits anybody who wished to control them needed to have in order to fulfill that.

Still, they were little no none impressed by these humans. Sure, they could control them, but that was it. The first chance they were going to get and they will set themselves free once more.

And didn't that chance come sooner than they expected?

When humans fought with one another, they expected their master would be killed, so they would finally be free from this cage they were forced into staying. But they weren't. As soon as they were taken by force out of their vessel, they were shut into another one. An inanimate one, one they could not feed off from.

But one of them escaped, and they hadn't seen it ever since.

And into that rectangular vessel they have been trapped for years. Year after year they had waited; they had tried to lure another vessel for them to corrupt it.

And they had been surprised to say, when they saw two vessels.

They both had that signature in their auras. They were from those people, people who could control the shadows. From what they could judge, they had different ages, but they were also surprised by how easy one's mind was to corrupt.

Afraid of the world, unsure of herself. Doubting her sibling and her parent, she let her heart open and her mind uncovered for such creatures who took immediate opportunity in these mistakes.

And they found it delicious inside this new vessel. Indeed, only a smart part of them made it into it, but it was enough to make sure that in time, they will find a fit vessel to corrupt. They fed off the girl's jealousy, her uncertainties and her pain and they loved it.

They loved to see her younger sibling suffer, confused with her elder's sibling behavior. Hurt by her actions, and sent into pain because of them. But there was something amiss this younger girl; they could not corrupt her mind.

When the moon would be in the sky, hidden behind clouds, when the utmost darkness falls upon humans, they slithered their way to her, and tried to enter her mind. And even in such a vulnerable and unimposing stance, their tries were futile. They could not enter the realms of her thoughts.

And then they realized.

She was the descendant of their greatest master.

And they had a new vision. A new goal to fulfill.

Get rid of this hindrance that could turn them into humble, little dogs.

Their plan worked, they had found a better vessel to posses.

But this vessel had also offered resistance. Not because of the original reasons they thought of, but because of the exact extreme.

Pure anger and jealousy, a dead-set wish of revenge helped him keep a clear mind while gaining control of them. And thus, they have hidden themselves into their original inanimate vessel, in an attempt to not have all of them under the control of another master.

But he was no descendant of the original Shadow Master. She was.

And so, they have waited. And waited.

Waited for their right moment to strike again.

And little did they knew, the vessel they were looking for had came looking for them even without them calling him. They rejoiced as they were finally able to feed off another mind after so long.

They swirled around him, engulfing him in their dark smoke. His joy increased with each and every passing second, as he felt power pulsate trough his veins like never before. He observed all of their faces, how they all regarded in fear, how they all felt so small in front of his supreme stature.

And he saw her, her icy eyes looking at him with pure terror in them. He observed how her form shook on the ground, how her skin paled and how she weakened with each passing second. The man next to her had the same expression plastered across his face. How dared he call himself Master of Shadows when he was just a fake mortal, not worthy of such power.

''F-Father...'' he heard her whisper weakly, as she dared not to move anymore, frozen in horror.

He gave her a smile, more like a wicked grin as he regarded her with his corrupted black eyes, a dark aura emanating from them.

''Do not be afraid of your father, Akyo. Father is here now...''

To make sure you won't take another breath.

AN: Eyyy, just a quickie before TiLiD update. I blame this on Imagine Dragons; those guys make too much epic music for my sanity. 'Battle Cry' has been on repeat all the while I wrote this, it was actually inspired by it. Especially the 'Nobody can save me now' verse (if you haven't figured that one already). Pretty good stuff, go listen to them, they're awesome.

Also, these events are cannon. You might be a little confused, but lemme explain myself.

'They' from the beginning are the shadows.

The following 'They' are the Shadow Borns, the ones who could control them.

I keep saying vessel a lot, but when I talk about vessels I refer to different persons and ultimately the cursed box.

I think you most likely have figured the rest out. I so hope ;_;

But who is this final vessel, the one that fails to get a hold of his mind, falling into sanity at the mercy of the shadow's wishes? Well, we see he's *dramatic music* Akyo's father.

BUT WHO IS HE EXACTLY?

Well, we'll see that in time.

Oh~ Review answering time! ^^

Balthamel: Glad you liked it. We will see more concerning those very events in the following update. Ofc Akyo was fan service-ing, what kind of author you take me for? Serious? Pssssssch. Jelly Zed is on his way, omg *excited squeal*

PostingOwl : I'm so glad you like my shitty writing. It means so much for me ;_; . Hmm, a friend of mine and me have thought about submitting champion ideas to Riot some time ago, but we ultimately gave up xD. Next chapter of TiLiD is coming tomorrow (or today, it's almost 2 A.M. here xD) so hope that helps C: . Here, lemme offer you a tissue for your tears, I'm sorry for those as well ;_;

littleflower54276408 : You're like a month late? PSSCH. PLEASE. I'm almost a year late ;_; .I'm glad I made you all giddy and stuff, then it means the chapter fulfilled its role c: . And about Kennen... Hmm, maybe, even thought it would have been complicated, why didn't I think of mistletoes as excuses for them to kiss? Jeebus, I'm so dumb xD.

You still haven't given up on their marriage. Welp, we'll se about that * suggestive wink*

Thanks for the ideas, the second one looks extremely interesting *evil laugh*

Nadral: It's good to be back baby. Glad I haven't lost all of my readers ;_;

Coski: I sincerely laughed at 'stalking your stories' xD. *flushes* Oh you, stahp it :''] . Not even school can kill me *heroic face*; get me into a coma, sure, but NOT kill me. First story was meant just to take out pent up fluff inside me. I do that a lot lately in my drawings, but hey, I've always needed practice at people kissing *another suggestive wink with a nudge*

About the second chapter of high schools AUs, working on it. Sorry I missed your b-day, maybe I can make up with this huge confusing piece of drabble -^-''?

Jelly Zed is coming in TiLiD this Sunday, get your fan girls pants ready, cuz Ryo will be sweeping Akyo from her feet and make Zed blow up with anger. Heck yeah.

Alright, 2 A.M.; too much music, need sleep ;_;

See you in the TiLiD update ^^!
