It was the last week of the holidays. Tiannah was sleeping in Oliver's arms after an intense Quidditch game. Oliver and Tiannah had a closeness that was different to what they had when they were younger. It was surprising to Tiannah, who expected it to take a long time for the rift between them to heal. But it had not only healed, but their friendship had transformed into something that felt deeper.

Hestia walked into the lounge room and grinned at their sleeping figures. "Lovebirds! Get up!" she said loudly. They simultaneously sat up and blushed as they realised their compromising position.

"We're up," Tiannah said hastily, standing up and stretching.

"I better go now. I'll come over later, okay?" Oliver said, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.

"Come for a sleepover!" Tiannah suggested with a laugh.

"What, like we did when we were five?"

"Yeah, just the same. See you at six?"

"Okay, Tia, bye!"

Hestia grabbed Tiannah's hand and pulled her upstairs.

"Where will Olliekins be sleeping?" she asked, waggling her eyebrows. Tiannah blushed.

"When we were kids we used to sleep in the same bed…"

Hestia snorted.

"I don't think that arrangement will work anymore…"

Tiannah looked away. She didn't want to admit that Hestia was probably right. It would feel very different now. The thought of being so close to Oliver felt… strangely exciting. She brushed the thought off.

"I don't see why not. You and I share a bed."

"That's very different."

"How?"

"Oliver is a boy," Hestia said slowly, as if explaining something to a five year old. "And you are a girl."

"That's ridiculous," Tiannah scoffed, turning red. "Oliver and I are just friends."

"Well, all I'm going to say is I don't fall asleep in your arms," the blonde replied airily, giving her friend a wink and a knowing smile.

"Ollie!"

"Tia!" Oliver mimicked in her tone.

They simultaneously ran into each other's arms. Oliver spun her around just as a resounding crack echoed through the house, marking the return of her parents and Benny from the shops.

"Sorry, are we interrupting something?" Daniel asked with a smile.

"No, we were just greeting each other after four hours of not being with each other," Oliver said.

"Felt like a lifetime," Tiannah replied, half joking. Sometimes she felt as though she couldn't get enough of Oliver's company.

"Very friendly greeting," Jane said with a smirk.

"Well, not seeing each other for two years does that, Mum."

Jane and Daniel exchanged knowing looks. Tiannah frowned, wondering if Hestia's talk had rubbed off on them. Shrugging, she turned on her heel to walk upstairs, Oliver close behind her.

"I swear they want us to get married or something, ," Oliver laughed once they were out of earshot. "My parents look at each other the same way when I talk about you."

"Really?" Tiannah said, slightly shocked. Oliver nodded, a small smile on his face. She stared at him for a moment, appreciating how handsome he had become. She was mortified when she realised she had been staring for far too long.

"We better go find Hestia," she said hoarsely, finding it unusually difficult to speak. "She'll be dying of boredom alone."

Oliver slept in the guest bed that that night. It felt strange having a sleepover with Oliver in separate rooms. She couldn't sleep, and decided that she would go and see if Oliver was still awake. She knocked on the door and a very cutely messy-haired Oliver appeared, grinning when he saw it was Tiannah.

"Wanna come in?"

"That's why I came. Can't sleep."

"Neither," Oliver replied as Tiannah went and lay on his bed. He hesitated for a moment before joining her. The moonlight shone through the window and illumiated Tiannah's face, making her blue eyes seem to twinkle. She was incredibly beautiful. Oliver wondered why it had taken him so many years to realise it.

"You alright?" Tiannah asked, as Oliver had a slight frown on his face.

"Yeah," he answered and he lay down next to her. He felt his heart begin to race as Tiannah rested her head on his chest. He didn't know why he was having such reactions; it wasn't as though they hadn't done this before. But it wasn't long until he pushed those thoughts from his mind and drifted off to sleep.

Oliver opened his eyes.

Firstly, he wasn't dreaming anymore.

Secondly, he had been dreaming, and it wasn't his usual dreams that involved Quidditch. This one involved Tiannah doing things to him that she would never do.

His face burned with embarrassment at the thought of her knowing what he was dreaming about. Why on earth was he dreaming such things?

If her eyes flickered to the wrong place… he may just die of embarrassment.

"Bad dreams, Ollie?" Tiannah asked, yawning.

"What?" Oliver asked, mortified that she somehow knew.

"You were moaning and mumbling stuff."

"Oh."

"What's the time?" Tiannah asked, seemingly unfazed by it all.

"Erm, five thirty," he answered, looking down at his watch.

"Let's go down to the lake and watch the sun rise then play some Quidditch. I'll go and get dressed," Tiannah replied, getting up and going back to her room. Hestia was fast asleep, thank Merlin. She didn't want to deal with what she would have to say about her and Oliver sharing a bed. She dressed into a bikini and board shorts and went back to the guest room.

"You ready, Oliver?" she asked, knocking his door.

"Yeah," came the reply, and he opened the door. His eyes widened slightly and flickered down to Tiannah's body. She nervously smiled.

"I'll go get the sun cream. It's been so hot early in the day," she said, quickly leaving the room and trying to calm her breathing. So what if Oliver checked her out? It wasn't a big deal, and yet it felt like one. She found the sun cream in a draw in the kitchen and turned around to head back upstairs and bumped straight into Oliver.

"I'm sorry," he said, taking a step back from her. "I didn't mean to startle you."

"It's fine. Come on, I'll put some on your back," she said, unscrewing the lid of the sun cream. She put some on her hands and began to rub it into Oliver's back. She noted how nice it felt to run her hands across his muscled back. Quidditch had been good to his body, that was for sure. Once she was done, she handed the bottle to Oliver.

"Here, do my back," she said, unable to make eye contact with him. For Merlin's sake, he was her best friend and she couldn't stop thinking about how attractive he had become. It was maddening.

Oliver gently began to rub the cream into her back. Tiannah felt butterflies in her stomach and stifled a sigh. The feeling of his hands on her felt just as good as it felt to have her hands on him.

Oliver himself was already wound up from his dream and running his hands along her soft skin caused some extremely awkward and unwanted reactions. He hurried along, feeling incredibly disrespectful for having such feelings towards his best friend.

It was a relief when he was finished and she grabbed the bottle off him and made her way to the front door.

"Let's go, Ollie!" she said as she opened the door. Oliver followed her, hoping that the rest of their day together would be normal. But as he watched her grab her broomstick from the shed and turn around to look at him with that stunning grin plastered on her features, it hit him. He didn't just see her as a friend anymore.

He liked her.

Crap.

Of course you'd get a crush on your best friend he cursed himself, inwardly groaning. This made everything so complicated. He had crushes on girls before, but not any he knew as well as Tiannah. He didn't think he'd be able to hide it from her for too long.

"You okay, Oliver?" she asked in a sweet voice. See? Oliver thought to himself. She could already see that something was up with him.

"Yeah, I'm okay," he replied distantly. She didn't seem convinced but shrugged and continued to walk on to the lake. Oliver didn't feel like swimming. He needed a few moments alone to process his revelation. Tiannah looked a bit put out but shrugged and went into the lake herself.

Watching her swim in the water, flick her hair and wave at him with that sweet smile on her face didn't help Oliver process it at all. She was so effortlessly beautiful. The pink sunrise dapped the lake with its rays and illuminated the soft curves of Tiannah's body as she exited the lake and walked towards him. He wished he didn't feel so conflicted so that he could enjoy the moment.

"Do you wanna go for a fly?" he asked her once she reached him. She nodded and dried herself off.

"Only if you feel up to it," she said with a smirk. "Flying alone sucks."

"I'm sorry," he replied. "We'll fly together to make up for it."

Oliver held the broomstick and motioned for Tiannah to get on the back of it. She raised an eyebrow.

"I don't think we've shared a broomstick since we were kids. Are you sure it's safe?"

"Positive," he assured. He didn't want to avoid Tiannah or act any differently to being close to her. Besides, it wouldn't be fair on their newly established friendship for Oliver to treat her differently just because he had a crush on her. She mounted the broomstick behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. Oliver loved the feeling of her pressed against him. They flew around the lake together as the sun fully rose. It was a glorious day, and they had never been closer.
