Chapter Three: Chase and Pounce

"Bloody hell, do we have to go through what we went through for Sam and Remus all over again?" Lily asked Jordan.
"What are you talking about?" Jordan asked, though it was obvious she was more in tune to this conversation then anyone else.

"Gawd, we went through this with Snow. You and Lee are made for each other. Just tell him you like him." Bronte said, really hoping she wouldn't have to go through the same thing as what happened with Sam and Remus. Although it had been fun, in the life of a Marauder and a Marauderette, nothing was fun more than once. Except for getting rip-roaring drunk.

"I do like him..." Jordan began, "It's just, he always has a new girlfriend. He's right now sitting over there with that Hufflepuff girl, number 3 girl in his life. He is currently dating a girl from Hufflepuff, Gryffindor and Ravenclaw at the same time! I don't want to be just another notch on his belt. I mean, at the beginning of the year we went out once, I was his girlfriend for a minute, but that was more a joke. Nothing serious. More like friends. Pretty much just friends. " Jordan declared.

"Do you think he likes you though?" Sam prodded.

"To be honest, no. I didn't feel this serious about him when we were going out then, but now.." Jordan said, looking very down-heartened. "Anyway, Sam- you and Remus have loved each other from the start, all we did was make you guys admit it to each other. Chad and Georgia got together in first year and have been together since. They really are made for each other. Lily, you and James are a good match, and you just tried to tell yourself you didn't like him. But you both knew you did, and you're finally together as well. Bronte, you just never have your eye on a guy. You drift through life like your absolutely hammered at a party everyday. Well, kind of..."

Everyone thought about what Jordan had said. They all agreed that was kind of right, though on the inside Bronte was thinking about how with her that wasn't quite true. Of course she wouldn't say anything though.

"Hey Lee, can I talk to you?" Jordan whispered as she walked past him in the Great Hall at dinner time.

"Sure." Lee replied. He quickly gave his latest Hufflepuff hitch a kiss on the cheek before getting up to follow Jordan. "What's up?" he asked.

"Um, well, you know how you've got lots of girlfriends?" Jordan began.

"Yeah?" Lee said, obviously not really paying attention.

"Well, I was just wondering if there was anyone in particular that you liked. Someone you thought you could have something serious with. Like Remus and Sam, or James and Lily." She asked.

"No not really." Lee asked, waving like a little girl at his most recent Ravenclaw companion. (Fortunately for any girl that looked good, Lee was one Marauder that was always going out with someone, other than Sirius. Sirius was a bit picky, but if you were tall, slender, or even slightly attractive, Lee would go out with you.)

"Oh, OK." Jordan said. She knew it was unlikely, but she had kind of hoped there could be some chance Lee liked her. They both loved singing, they both had similar nicknames (although the Marauders didn't known about the Marauderettes animagus abilities, and vice versa), they both took the same classes, and shared the same opinions They seemed so alike.

"Moony, take notes, and stop staring at Sam! If you don't take notes and pay attention, who am I going to copy off?" Sirius jabbed at Remus' back with his quill.

"God damn it, Sirius stop that! I am paying attention! And we don't need to take notes, this is POTIONS CLASS!" Remus turned and said, in a slightly raised voice.

Sirius turned to Bronte (Whom was currently his potions partner) and raised an eyebrow. "I know. I just felt bored." Sirius said, before continuing cutting up ingredients, while staring at Bronte as she sliced her ingredients, double the speed of anyone else in the room. She was in a bad mood, and using a sharp knife to cut up several things was being a good anger management method. She couldn't remember why she was mad, but she was getting pissed off at Sirius staring at her hands.

"Sirius, stop staring at my hands!" She yelled.

Sirius turned his head and started chopping wildly, worried about being hexed by Bronte, as she was in such a foul mood. He was so worried about being hexed he wasn't watching what he was doing and ended up nearly slicing his finger off.

"ARGH!" He screamed in pain, looking at the deep gash in his hand.

"Bloody hell Sirius, you moron!" Bronte shouted, sounded angry, though she was already caring for his hand, trying to make the bleeding stop, and rubbing it to make the pain go away. Sirius watched her, smiling, and wondering why he felt so weird. Sort of like the feeling you get when you're nervous. When Bronte stopped rubbing his hand, he sort of wished it still hurt so she'd keep paying him the attention. They both got on with their ingredient cutting.

"Don't you think Lee and Jordan should get together? Jordan's even admitted to liking him! They're so perfect together!"

Sirius turned his head, to look at Jordan and Lee talking about High School Musical. It was really quite funny to look at them, like and old married couple. Everyone knew Jordan liked Lee, but Lee never liked her. Or so everyone thought. Everyone, that is, EXCEPT a certain dimwitted dumb-ass, who couldn't count his balls and get the same answer twice. Yes, Sirius Black. He quickly got out his quill and started writing a note, before tossing it over to Lee. Of course, this dimwitted dumb-ass had bad aim as well, so Jordan caught it. She opened it up, and was surprised at what she saw.

Hey Lee!

Now is your chance! We have conformation that she likes you- I repeat, conformation. She likes you, you like her, you're together brewing a potion, could things get more romantic?

Don't answer that. ASK HER OUT!

Your amazingly perfect and sexy and good-looking and spunky and fantastic and caring and well-aimed and self-controlled friend,Sirius.

Jordan looked at Lee.

"What?" Lee asked. He grabbed the note. "SIRIUS YOU BASTARD I AM GOING TO HEX YOU, YOU DUMWITTED DUMB-ASS!" He yelled.

Jordan looked at him. "Lee, do you like me?"

"Well, I thought you might, but I'm famous for never liking anyone and just going out with everyone, so I didn't ask you out, you know, just in case, because imagine my reputation if I got rejected, but yeah..." He realized he was burbling, and abruptly shut up.

"Lee, I'm not the shy type. So I'm just going to come out and say it: Will you go out with me?" Jordan asked Lee.

"Yes!" Lee shouted, very quickly, drawing attention to the new couple.

Lee plucked up all the courage he could, leaned forward, and kissed Jordan quickly. They both flushed, before leaning forward towards each other again and started kissing.

"Ah, Chase and Pounce, yet another match made in heaven." Sam said, looking happy for her close friend. (A/N Lee's animagus nickname is Chase, if I haven't told you that yet. And Jordan's is Pounce)

Lily turned to James, smiled, and then they started to kiss.

Sam turned to Remus, smiled and then they started to kiss too.

Georgia broke apart from Chad, whom she was already kissing. But they didn't want to break the pattern so she looked at him, smirked (that's as close as Georgia ever got to smiling) and then they started kissing again.

Sirius turned to Bronte, Bronte turned to Sirius. They both shrugged, and started to kiss (although they each had current partners from different houses).
