Speckledkit's too long to say,
But I wouldn't say it anyway-
I'd be 'Speckledpaw' before long now,
so I'll make my own name;
My own choice-
One to graduate on in this new
world. One to sum up my
new position. What would do?
How about Speckledclaw?
Fierce and strong!
Or a new name altogether?
How about 'ice?' Cold weather?
I begin to like the name...
But I think it's time for a change...
I don't know where I am-
It's high up and change comes soon.
I look down at my paw-
only to see it's gone!
Snow covers my path from
the Lone Desert.
The Desert of Pain and Sorrow...
"Snow's a good name," I think...
"Snow..." I think as something
brushes my tail-
it's a sign sure not to fail!
"Snowtail it is!" I think to
myself.
Filled with pride and filled with
guilt.
