Hi, PaperWolf27 here. No, I haven't disappeared off of the face of the earth. I wrote this thing a while back, and I think it turned out pretty good, so here it is.

Disclaimer: I own nothing. Tell those lawyers to stop stalking me.

Long, long ago, in the land of Hyrule…

Lived a brave and noble warrior, whose name, sadly, has been forgotten within the mists of time.

He had led many troops to countless victories. But one day, a new evil came to Hyrule…an evil whose malice made all others pale in comparison…

The brave warrior once again led his troops to battle, but the forces of evil were too great. Many men were slaughtered…

The warrior and a handful of his soldiers were captured and brought before the Dark Lord. "Join our cause!" he told them.

One by one, they refused, and one by one, they were horribly tortured. Finally, only the brave warrior was left. But watching his men be tortured so had frightened him so badly, that when the question was posed to him, he agreed…

The warrior became the new general of the dark army. He was forced to lead the dark troops into cities and towns, where he witnessed the horror on the peoples' faces when they saw that their hero was now leading the evil…

Finally, when the warrior could stand no more, he attempted to take his own life. But just as he was about to plunge the knife into his throat, the Dark Lord intervened…

"There will be no release for you," he told him.

The warrior responded that he refused to be the general of the dark any longer. He could no longer stand the burden of evil deeds that lay upon his shoulders.

"And what better punishment for your cowardice than being forced to live with that burden forevermore?" the Dark Lord answered.

As he turned to leave, the warrior begged him to grant him one small favor, if he would not allow him to die.

"Name it," the Dark Lord said.

The warrior asked for some way he could hide his face, so he would be spared the looks upon the peoples' faces when they recognized him. The Dark Lord agreed, and in his humor, he replaced his head with that of a warhorse. The warrior was then forced to continue to aid the forces of evil…

His heart then slowly hardened into stone and ice, until the brave, noble warrior was no more…

In his place was the merciless killing machine, now known as…Horsehead…

What do you think? Please R&R!

P.S. For those of you who are not familiar with old school Zelda, Horsehead is the freakishly difficult first boss in Zelda II, The Adventure of Link. That game is way too hard for its own good.
