AN- Hi! This was my attempt at looking into the mind of Kanna...I mean, how can you be sure she truly has no thoughts? Kinda morbid I guess...do tell me what you think; I have no faith in my writing skills.

Alone in a dark room in the gloomy confines of the castle, a lone white child kneeled down, staring intently into a mirror with blank eyes. A perfect reflection stared back at her.

Kagura wished for freedom, Naraku wished for power, the dead priestess wished for eternal peace. Inuyasha wished to kill Naraku and then have his happy ending, Sango wanted her brother resurrected, Miroku wished for the wind tunnel to be destroyed.

But Kanna had a wish too.

When Naraku created her he had thought he'd created the perfect minion -- one who would not question him but follow orders exactly, with flawless obedience. He had not given her a soul, so she could not feel, but she could think. And wish, in her own strange way.

No—Kanna's wish was not a glorious one.

Kagura wished for freedom from the chains Naraku had on her. Never had Kanna cared. She was a youkai of nothingness, after all. Kagura was blessed though, in ways Kanna saw clearly in the perfect mirror in her childlike hands. She would have envied the wind sorceress if she could. But wasn't that just the problem?

Kagura could feel.

A ghost of a smile passed faintly across Kanna's pale features for the briefest of moments...

For the one thing in the world Kanna longed for, the one thing that tied her to this existence, was her wish to feel. Anything. Pity for the souls she took, anger at Naraku...something. Anything.

But she couldn't.

She delicately, gracefully lifted one small hand...

And shattered the mirror.

And as her blood flowed (she would have been surprised she could bleed, but she couldn't feel surprise) and forever stained the sharp glass shards of the mirror, as the life left her, Kanna smiled one small, genuine smile...

And finally found her soul.
