" You look beautiful Zoe." Rei smiled down at the one girl he had ever truly loved his best friend,They were at the front of the church now with everyones eyes on Zoe, Her flowing coal hair loosley put into light curls and slightly pinned back her face lightly tanned by the subtle but effective makeup gracing her cheeks, her big eyes looking up at him and smiling, her long white dress with elbow length lace gloves framing her tiny arms the dress hugging her figure in all the right places with a long white train trailing behind her, holding a small bunch of white roses, Rei smiled down on her.
" Thankyou Rei." She said and then she looked at her husband to be (within minutes) and Reis heart slowly sank.
'How could i let her go like that? she is perfect, and if he doesnt treat her right i will take no mercy in killing him.'
Rei looked over at the man that was stealing his dream girl from right under his nose, if only he had the confidence to have spoke up and tell Zoe his true feelings from the start, maybe just maybe Rei would be the one carefully holding Zoe round the waist and looking deep into her eyes and saying the simple words... I Do.
" Thanks for walking me down the isle Rei, Daddy would have been very grateful." Zoe smiled up at Rei and tip-toed slightly to give him a kiss on the cheek.
" its ok Zoe, i would do anything for you, you know that." Rei smiled fakely and hugged Zoe, then watched as she turned back to her husband... Kai Hiwatari.
the priest started the surmon and Rei just zoned out and wasent really listening untill the Priest said... " if there is anyone in here who does not agree to this wedding speak now or forever hold you piece".
' MEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!' Reis mind screamed and for a second thought about actually saying it out loud, but he knew Zoe would never forgive him for that and he would rather have her in his life if not at all ... even if she wasent going to be in his bed.
Rei silently faced forward for the rest of the wedding untill the time came for the I Do's they came with ease and without hesitation, no matter how much Rei wanted Zoe to say no then slap Kai and jump on Rei and ravish him there and then, but Reis dreams were cut short by "you may kiss the bride" their lips connected and everyone cheered, Rei closed his eyes but still clapped to make it seem he was happy even though he had never been more crushed in his life.
Zoe ran over to Rei with the biggest smile he had ever seen on her face, and thats when he knew that she was happy and he could never take it away from her no matter how much he had wanted her for himself since they were young, she was happy with Kai and he could see he would treat her well, Zoe grabbed Reis hands and led him over to the dancefloor and made him dance with her, Rei told Zoe she was beautiful and only deserved the best and Zoe told him she had found it in Kai and Reis heart broke a little bit more, if that was possible. " Thanks for always being their Rei, i love you." Rei smiled at her then she put her head to his shoulder, Rei let a silent tear slip from his eye and closed them shut continuing to dance with Zoe. 'But not in the way that i love you' he sniffed 'its killing me on the inside'
Zoe was one of a kind in Reis eyes and he had let her slip through his fingers because he was to damn stupid to tell her how he feels his mind was flooded with ' what if 's?' he loved Zoe with all his heart and she would never know, unless something accidentally happened to Kai, but he wouldnt do that, he knew he wouldnt, beacuse it would hurt Zoe and Rei couldnt do that so from now on Zoe was just a best friend, the one he let get away.
