"It's no fair," the child Sokka said to his grandmother, Gran Gran.
"Oh? It's not fair is it?" Gran Gran asked gently to get her five-year-old grandson to open up more.
"Yeah," Sokka said with a pout on his face. "How come Katara gets to 'bend' and I don't."
"Your sister was born with a rare gift," Gran Gran explained.
"Why couldn't I have been born with a gift too?" Sokka asked.
"You were dear boy," Gran Gran said with a smile on her face. "You were born with just as many talents as your sister. You just haven't discovered them yet. Give it time."
