Lloyd isn't a bad kid. He swears he isn't! But no matter what he does, he'll always be seen as trouble. The only one who doesn't hate him is his father, whose letters come often. Kai desperately wants to prove himself, and is willing to go to any means to do so. When things finally get unbearable Lloyd runs, setting into motion a series of events that change the course of history.

As part of my re-write of the series, I had to turn the soft magic system into a hard one. These are the rules. Several elements have been cut, not because I dislike the characters, but because Jay is right and there is no such thing as the element of 'speed'. Takes place after Hunted. Lloyd finds himself still needing Harumi long after her death. Despite his best efforts, he just can't make himself hate her. He becomes ashamed of his lingering feelings, distancing himself from everyone else in his life. But when a mysterious stranger claims that they can make his dreams a reality, Lloyd will have to decide what he truly desires most.
