Creatures of the Shadows
I am Alvy a Moon Elf.
When I was born my parents were horrified to learn that I could manipulate fire…..so they threw me to the street to rot. My life has been hard this far, I have been shunned by my people, well all except one….
My most dearest and trusted friend Darius. We both have dark elf qualities which makes us outcasts among our people. I have also befriended a one of a kind and most unusual creature…
Ashkenaz. Ashkenaz is well I don't know the origin of his race but to sum it up he is a horse surrounded or well consumed of flames. Ashkenaz is my loyal friend and steed. Darius also has a strange companion… a wolf named Daegal.
It has been 3 weeks since the attack of (put name here) happened, our people were slaughtered, and not many escaped. Of those that did escape was me and Darius. We have traveled for miles with no civilization in sight….
"Do you ever think we will find more of our kind?" Darius asked. "I don't think we shall, and even if we do I doubt they will welcome us with open arms" I replied.
"Your words are true enough" remarked Darius.
" I hope Daegal gets back soon it is getting late and we must eat if we are to set off tomorrow." "Grrrrr….." came the ominous growl of Daegal from the shadows." Finally old friend what took you so long?" asked Darius.
"Grr arggggg grrr" replied Daegal. "He says there's a Human and a Dark Elf in the forest!" translated Darius. "We must find higher ground quick." I whispered.
"You go I must warn Ashkenaz." "Right" whispered Darius as he and Daegal started climbing the nearest tree. I ran out to the brook where I had sensed Ashkenaz, but he wasn't there. I grew desperate sensing the possible danger of these two new creatures, but Ashkenaz was no where to be found.
I decided that if they found Ashkenaz he would be able to hold his own, so I went to join Darius and Daegal in the tree to scout out our new found company.
