"And, That, Sir…"

This. Could not. Be happening.

Edward groaned internally, running both hands through the fringe of his hair, grabbing onto it, and pulling, out of pure stress and frustration. He had fucked up before, but this was just impossible.

"After everything I've been through." Ed grumbled, "I had to mess up one more time, didn't I?"

There was a slight yawn-like groan from the sleeping figure on the floor, causing Ed to fall silent.

"Br-brother?" the blonde on the floor groaned, pulling themselves up, then looking at the visibly frustrated older boy, "What's wrong? Is there something wrong with my new body?"

Then, as if the thought only fully came across Al's mind, there was practically a squeal of delight as the younger was thrown upon Ed (who let out a surprised "Gak!"), hugging him tight, savouring the touch.

"A-Al." Ed said suddenly, blushing furiously, trying to push his younger sibling off of him, "There is a bit of a problem."

"What is it?" Al asked, suddenly scared, pulling back, the teen examined the body the soul was now fastened to, "Am I disfigured? Mutated? Missing something?" (Ed interjected here, "You could say that…" though Al didn't seem to notice) "Ugly? What is…it…?" Al trailed off as the 'little' problem was noticed, the same one Edward had spotted almost instantly.

The two 'little' problems, situated right on Al's chest, "Brother…?" Al began slowly, "What happened to me?"

"Apparently I messed up the transmutation." Ed paused, then offered a grin, "I guess the name 'Alphonse' doesn't work anymore, huh?"

"Not funny, brother." The younger puffed out cherry coloured cheeks, frowning, folding arms over newly gained 'assets'.

Ed grinned again, "Maybe 'Alice' will cut it?"

"Brother!" the whiny voice came.

"And I always did wonder what it'd be like to have a little sister."

"Not funny." Al repeated, pouting cutely.

"And that, sir." Ed smiled oh-so-innocently to his commanding officer, "Was what happened."
