As she packed her bags, Lis'sa prattled on about what an exciting adventure this would be.

'It's a whole new culture! Now that the space lanes are open to Kashyyyk, I can finally learn more about the Wookiees. It's a sociologist's dream come true!'

Jalenn folded his arms and leaned against the wall of the salon. 'And what are you going to do about the shop?'

Lis'sa laughed lightly. 'Oh, I won't be gone long. A few days, at most.'

'Mm-hm.' Jalenn frowned slightly and took her hands in his, squeezing them gently. 'You really should let me teach you how to defend yourself, if you're going to be doing this.'

Lis'sa shook her head. 'No no,' she said, closing her suitcase with some difficulty. 'I'll be just fine. The Wookiees are a friendly people.'

'Not to everyone.' Jalenn sighed and followed Lis'sa to the door of the shop. 'You know how to reach me, just in case, right?'

'Oh, Jalenn... Stop worrying. I'll be just fine!' Lis'sa hugged her fiancé, and kissed him lightly. 'I'll write when I get there.' She waved, hoisted her bag onto her bike, and took off for the starport.

Kashyyyk was green and lush, and Lis'sa settled in immediately, immersing herself in the culture. She spoke to many of the Wookiees in the Kachirho settlement about life under the Empire's rule. The weather was beautiful, the life-forms were friendly (if guarded), and her first experience with Wookiee food ended with one of her lekku turning a nasty shade of green. All in all, it had been an amazing trip.

It wasn't until she was getting ready to leave the planet that she saw the Genosian. She spoke to him, learned of his predicament. Of course she would be happy to talk to the researchers and see if they would be willing to help clear his name.

A short trip by speeder, and she was there. She avoided the slavers as well as she could, bowing her head modestly as they went by, showing her subservience, trying not to make trouble. She found the scientists almost immediately.

She spoke to several of them at once, as deferentially as possible.

'I have been asked to speak with you on behalf of the Genosian known as...'

She never finished explaining why she had come. Immediately, she was surrounded by slavers, huge Trandoshans who pulled her away to the slave pens as the researchers looked at each other knowingly. Such a rarity, to find a Twi'lek this far from a civilised system. In time, they would run their tests on this new subject. In time, they would see how her physiology compared to that of the Wookiees.

In time, she would feed the Empire's hunger for power and knowledge.
