"Introductions" - 13 Jan 2007
pain courses through my mind
and I cannot turn away.
up my arm, down my back,
and though it will not stay
it still forces tears
to well up in my eyes,
time slows to a standstill...
until adrenaline kicks it aside.
from my brain to my back,
my shoulder then my arm;
it numbs all the nerves
and turns off the alarm.
orange spots still dance
on the blacked out vision in my eyes,
but now I can see past then,
and take it all instride.
I return to my movement,
pick up my forward pace,
straighten my straining posture,
put that smirk back on my face.
dodge your hopeless efforts
to introduce me to the floor,
turn the tables, flip the switch,
and let you mee the door.
