I don't own commander in chief

This chapter is one of those annoying filler chapters. Sorry it is not great.

Back in Glasgow the little kids were going wild. Catlin and Amy were arguing with each other at every opportunity. If Catlin wanted to play with a toy then Amy would pull it off her. When they watched TV they fought over what programme to watch, and Rod was getting really fed up with both of them.

They were eating lunch which Rebecca had made as they never trusted Rod to cook anything.

Rod: Catlin are you going to be a big girl and eat all of your lunch

Catlin: No I don't like it

Rebecca: Yes you do, I made it, I know you love mac and cheese

Catlin: No you make it runny,

Rod: Catlin I will not ask you again

Amy: She is a big baby

Catlin: I am not

Catlin still refused to eat, she was always awkward at meal time and she was even worse than usual, Rod thought this was because Mac and Elizabeth were both gone.

Rod: All right young lady, you can go to your bedroom for the rest of the day

Catlin: NO, I want to play

Rod lifted Catlin up and took her to her room, the house had a gate at the top and bottom of the stairs, so she could not fall down them.

Once Catlin was in her room, she screamed the place down. But Rod was not phased by this, he knew eventually she would calm down and he wanted to stop these tantrums she was becoming accustomed too.

But Catlin had a strong battle of wills and she stood at the top of the stairs at the baby gate and began to throw toys over it.

Rod: Catlin stop this behaviour

Catlin: I want to play downstairs

Rod: All right, all these toys you have thrown down, will be getting out away so you cannot play with them

Catlin continued to throw her toys over the gate

Rebecca: Catlin, remember Mom said if you are good she would bring you home a present

Rod: I don't think Catlin will be getting a present if she continues to behave like this

Catlin: Can I come downstairs yet

Rod: No you will stay in your room until you have calmed down

Just then the phone went.

Rebecca: Dad Mom is on the phone for you

Rod took the phone off his daughter

Rod: Hi honey,

Mac: Hi how are the kids?

Rod: Catlin has been such a devil

Mac: Why what has she done

Rod: She won't eat a complete meal and her and Amy have been arguing constintly

Mac: Well Amy should no better

Rod: Mac I put her in her room and she has started to throw toys over the stairs, it is the worst tantrum I have ever seen

Mac: OK we left about half an hour ago, we should be home in about 3 hours, can you handle them until then

Rod: Yes I think we should just order something for dinner, Rebecca has cooked every meal since you left.

Mac: OK darling

Just then Catlin started shouting again about wanting to play downstairs

Mac: Put Catlin on the phone please

Rod took the phone upstairs and into his youngest daughters bedroom

Rod: Mommy wants to talk to you

he gave her the phone

Catlin: Hi Mommy

Mac: Catlin do you remember what I said before I left

Catlin: No

Mac: I said you would only get a present if you were good

Catlin: I have been a good girl

Mac: Daddy says you have been naughty and I do not like that behaviour.

Catlin threw the phone to the floor and started to scream again. Rod picked the phone up

Rod: Mackenzie I am going to go now, I will see you in a few hours love you.

Mac: OK she is not getting a present and when I get home I will talk with her, love you baby.

Catlin eventually calmed down and Rod went back to her room.

Rod: Are you ready to come downstairs and behave yourself

Catlin: Yes Daddy

Rod: I want you to apologise to me and to Rebecca when we get downstairs

Catlin: Sorry Daddy

Rod gave her a big cuddle

Rod: I love you honey

Catlin and Rod went downstairs and the family all watched the lion King. Finally Mac, Elizabeth and Kelly got back to the house.

Catlin and Amy ran to Mac.

Amy: Hi Mommy did you bring a present

Mac: I don't know that depends on how good you were for Daddy

Amy: I was very good, Mommy

Catlin: So was I

Mac picked up the youngest girl and held Amy's hand as they walked to the living room.

Mac: I know you were not a good girl Catlin

Catlin: I am sorry, can I pleeeease have a present

Mac: No, I only bring presents to good children

Amy: I was good Mommy

Mac: Did you argue with your sister

Catlin: She did Mommy

Mac: I don't like tell tales Catlin

Amy: I only argued with her a little bit, she kept annoying me

Mac: Neither of you are getting a present

She got into the family room and kissed Rod and the 2 teenagers, a few moments later, Horace, Rebecca and Elizabeth were upstairs talking, while Kelly watched the rest of the film with the 2 youngest girls and Mac and Rod went to the kitchen and phoned a Chinese takeaway.

Upstairs Becca was admiring Elizabeth's manicure and haircut, and Horace found this very boring, he loved having a new sister, but he wished he had a brother, someone he could talk about cars and sports with.

Elizabeth: Can I ask you guys something

Horace: Yeah what do you want to know

Elizabeth: When I was away I asked if I could call Aunt Mac and Uncle Rod, Mom and Dad and I just wanted to make sure that you were OK with it

Rebecca: Fine by me

Horace: Yeah me 2, I know Mom and Dad will be happy

Elizabeth: Great

Elizabeth left the room and went down to the kitchen where Rod and Mac were

Mac: Hi honey, why don't you tell him the good news

Rod: What news is this then

Elizabeth: it is not that big, I was just wondering if it would be OK, if I called you Dad now

Rod smiled and opened his arms, Elizabeth went over to him and cuddled him, she felt very safe in his arms. Mac stood behind them and smiled, it made her really happy that she thought of her and Rod as her parents.

Rod: I would like that very much darling

Elizabeth: Great

The door went and there food had arrived, the family and Kelly ate there food and the next day the whole family went for the day to Loch Lomond and then to Blair Drummond to visit the safari park.
